Hey readers! Welcome to a new story. I'm really looking forward to your support as this journey unfolds.
𝔂𝓸𝓾𝓻 𝓪𝓾𝓽𝓱𝓸𝓻 𝓲𝓼 𝓼𝓸𝓻𝓻𝔂
And for my readers from other work. THE LEGACY.
I'm really sorry to those who read The Legacy: Unwittingly Yours. I know I messed up the story, and I truly wanted to fix it—but it’s been tough without any feedback or response.I’ve learned from the experience, and I’ll do my best not to let this new story go the same way. Thanks for giving it a chance.

Three black SUVs tore down the dirt road, engines growing.
They skidded to a stop in front of an old, silent farmhouse on the edge of the hills.
The doors opened fast. Men in black jumped out, some rushing inside with their weapons ready.
Others took position outside.
From the middle SUV a tall man stepped out slowly. He wore a dark suit and leather gloves. His cold eyes didn't blink.
Don Lazarus Moretti. The name made most people lower their eyes. But not her.
He walked past his men without speaking.
One of the guards near the porch nodded quickly.
GUARD
She's in the room, boss.
Matteo said nothing. His steps were heavy and calm as he made his way into the house.
Down a narrow hallway, past old wooden doors. He stopped at the last one.
She stood there. Chained.
Her eyes were sharp. Angry. Unafraid.
Advika Joseph (FL)
Where are my rights?
Advika Joseph (FL)
You think locking me here will fix what you've done?
He didn't answer. His eyes scanned the room, then rested on her face.
She took a step forward, chains rattling.
Advika Joseph (FL)
You're a murder.
Advika Joseph (FL)
You think you can hide from justice, but you can't. Even if you kill me... I'll make sure the truth finds you.
She froze. Her eyes dropped to the weapon, then slowly lifted to meet his.
Matteo stepped closer. She backed away until her body hit the wall. She turned her face, bracing herself.
But he didn't raise the gun.
Instead, he leaned in close and whispered.
Lazarus Morreti (ML)
Take it.
He held the gun out to her, grip first.
Lazarus Morreti (ML)
Take it
Lazarus Morreti (ML)
Kill me, Miss Justice. If that's what you want. It's the only way out by the way.
She stared at the weapon, her breath shaky.
Lazarus Morreti (ML)
Go on. Do it.
Her hands slowly reached for the gun. Her fingers wrapped around the gun.
If felt heavier than she expected. Matteo let go.
The gun shook in her hands as she raised it, pointing it as his chest. Her arms trembled. Her eyes welled up, but no tears fell.
He didn't move. He didn't flinch.
Just stood there, staring at her like he was waiting for something.
Lazarus Morreti (ML)
Do it.
Her fingers hovered over the trigger.
Advika Joseph (FL)
I should.
Advika Joseph (FL)
You deserve it.
Lazarus Morreti (ML)
Maybe I do.
Silence stretched between them. the only sound was her shaky breath.

Episode # 2
The hospital bathroom was quiet.
Advika stood there, gripping the edge of the sink, staring at her own tired face.
The door creaked open behind her.
Nurse
Your patient is awake.
She quickly wiped her face and nodded.
Advika Joseph (FL)
Okay. I'm coming.
The nurse paused, watching her.
Nurse
Are you okay, Doctor?
She gave a small smile, the kind that didn't reach her eyes.
Advika Joseph (FL)
Yeah. Just tired.
The nurse didn't believe her–but said nothing.
A small hospital bed sat near the window.
In the bed lay a little girl, no older than ten. Pale skin, a bandage on her arm, a hospital gown too big for her small frame.
She looked up and smiled.
The little girl
Hey, magic healing hands.
Dr. Joseph stepped in and smiled back. This time, it was real–at least a little.
Advika Joseph (FL)
Hey, warrior princess.
The girl's voice was small but strong.
The little girl
I'm okay, right? After the surgery?
She said, kneeling by the bed.
Advika Joseph (FL)
You have to stay positive. We're going to take the lump out. And then you're going to fight. Just like you always do.
Dr. Joseph leaned closer, her voice soft.
Advika Joseph (FL)
Don't listen to anyone who says cancer always wins. Some people beat it. You know why?
She pointed to the girl's chest, just about her heart.
Advika Joseph (FL)
Because they had faith. Right here.
The little girl touched the spot.
The little girl
The heart?
Advika Joseph (FL)
Yes. The heart. That's where the fight begins.
The little girl
I'm ready. I'll live long.
That's the start of faith. A long life begins with that.
Bright lights. Stainless steel tools. Soft beeping sounds.
Dr Joseph stood by the scrub sink, dressed in full surgical gear. Cap on. Mask pulled down for now.
she looked at herself in the mirror again.
this time, her eyes were cleared. Still tired but focused.
Then she pulled her mask up, turned around, and walked through the doors.
The little girl was already asleep on the table, surrounded by nurses and machines.
Dr. Joseph stepped up beside her.
Advika Joseph (FL)
Let's begin.

Episode # 3
Advika sat across from her lawyer.
Her eyes looked tired, but there was a quiet storm behind them.
Advika Joseph (FL)
Is there any way.
She asked, voice low and shaky.
Advika Joseph (FL)
I can keep my son away from that family?
Letto (FL's lawyer)
Advika...I know you don't want to hear this. But your son– he's part of that family too. Biologically.
Advika looked away, biting the inside of her cheek.
Advika Joseph (FL)
You don't think a judge will cut his father out completely. Especially if he's stepping up now.
Advika Joseph (FL)
But he didn't want him.
Advika Joseph (FL)
He denied the baby. He said it wasn't his. I have messages. I have proof. He didn't even show up once...not for me, not for my son.
Letto (FL's lawyer)
That matters. It does. If he refused the baby before birth, and was absent for years, the court will take that seriously.
Letto (FL's lawyer)
You've been the only parent, the stable one. That builds your case.
Advika Joseph (FL)
So I can get full custody?
Advika asked with hope in her voice.
Letto (FL's lawyer)
You can. But I can't promise he'll be cut out completely. Unless he's proven dangerous or unfit, the court might still give him visitation or shared say in big decisions.
Advika Joseph (FL)
Now. Now he wants to step up?
Before her lawyer could reply...A cold, low, too familiar filled the room.
She didn't turn right away. Her shoulders stiffened. She knew that voice like a scar she couldn't erase.
Mario Kart (FL's ex-boyfriend)
Trying to run away with my son again, huh?
Advika turned, her face hard.
Advika Joseph (FL)
Are you talking about the baby you said wasn't yours? the one you weren't ready for?
Mario Kart (FL's ex-boyfriend)
That was then. I was–confused. But I'm not walking away now.
Advika Joseph (FL)
Oh, now you're not walking away?
Advika Joseph (FL)
Now that he's older. Now that he has a name, a face, a life...now you want to play father?
Mario Kart (FL's ex-boyfriend)
I'm not playing anything.
Mario Kart (FL's ex-boyfriend)
It's my responsibility. I am his father.
Advika let out a short bitter laugh.
Advika Joseph (FL)
You talk about responsibility like you know what it means. Funny. Where was that responsibility when I told you I was pregnant.
She stepped closer, her voice trembling with anger.
Advika Joseph (FL)
You'll never get my son. He's mine. A soul you paused away before he even entered this world.
Mario Kart (FL's ex-boyfriend)
This isn't about us.
Advika Joseph (FL)
You're right.
Advika Joseph (FL)
It's not. That's why I'm done having this conversation.
She turned to her lawyer.
Mario Kart (FL's ex-boyfriend)
We're done here.
Then she grabbed her bag and walked out. The man watched her leave. He just stood there, fists tightening at his sides.
