Lichen walking his way on the front gate didn't pay attention to the boy besides him.

*removes his earphones* Am I supposed to wait for you to wake up?
Lichen
You were snoring soundly, if you are that tired then forget attending classes, just rest in the dorm.
Xi'an

Lichen
Why I would bother to wake you up?
Xi'an
Lichen, you're so heartless! We're both living on the same place.
Lichen froze at his statement.

*move his eyes away from Xi'an*

What you're thinking? *stares at Lichen with disbelief*

What I'm saying is true, we're roommates. Right? We live in the same place... Lichen?? *narrowing his eyes at him*
Lichen rolls his eyes at him. Xi'an looks at him confused and decide to drop the matter. There's no point on explaining it 'cause that was really the truth. They were roommates!
Xi'an gets embarrassed at himself explaining what. Their situation is obviously not like that married couples accompanying each other on the same roof and they are both guys. He is the one who's thinking inappropriately!
Lichen
*tug at the hem of Xi an's uniform* "You stop speaking nonsense. Let's go."
Xi'an
Ah, right right! >w<
The two walks together side-by-side until both parted on their each other classroom. Xi'an stoles one more look at the man behind him, but only sees his back.

Late and Jealous Peoples
Xi'an gets inside the classroom and buried his face on his desk. A soft female voice whispers on his side..
Xi'an
*gaze at Ruoyu with one eyes slightly open* ??
Ruoyu
You're almost late, Xi'an. Luckily Teacher Cai is not here yet.. What you've been up to?
Xi'an
Hmm..? *stretching arms* *stretch* Aiya..oh?
Xi'an
Aish.. It is because of hard time sleeping last night.
Xi'an continues his bout of stretches and yawn. Ruoyu looks at him still smiling and calm eyes.
Xi'an returns to himself properly abashed by Ruoyu's gaze.
Ruoyu
Brother. Who's on your mind?
Xi'an looks confusely at her. He's not onto someone!
Xi'an
Haha. I'm not occupied with thoughts of someone.
Xi'an said this with a carefree look. But thinking the events of last night he seems like again want to bury his face on the desk.
Ruoyu
You don't have enough sleep, why didn't you just stay in home?
Xi'an
It's fine, it's fine. It is monday, what can I do?
Ruoyu nods at him and get to her desk. Teacher Cai came in and starts lecturing.
Xi an's mind began to wander from what occured last night.
While Ruoyu muddled thinking who's in Xi an's mind? She's really contemplating this person who makes someone she like deprive of sleep. Ruoyu furrowed her brows in this matter.
Both Ruoyu and Xi'an is halfway done munching on their meal. That is when Zhiwei and Lichen came.
Zhiwei
What's up? *wrap his arm on Xi'an shoulders and winks*
Lichen
*casually take a seat between Ruoyu and Xi'an*
Ruoyu
People these days developed a habit of coming late.
Zhiwei
Teacher Lun 's lecture takes too much time with no regards for both breaktime and students.
Lichen
*looks at Zhiwei resting his arms on Xi an's.*
Xi'an
You guys eat. Be fast!
Xi'an
*gobble his food awkwardly*
Lichen
Zhiwei take away your arms from him. He can't eat properly.
Zhiwei
What's wrong with it? *smiles at Lichen*

Zhiwei

Right, focus on eating.
Lichen
*turn his gaze at Xi'an*

Lichen and I are friends. We're like brothers. If you don't have anything better to do, better shut up, Yu Zhiwei!
Ruoye just stands up cleaning her sauce-stained lips with a tissue.
Ruoyu
I'm done peoples, come let's go back Xi'an ge. *leaves with Xi'an in tow*
Zhiwei
*laughs shaking his head*
Zhiwei
Ruoyu dislikes it when his Xi'an-ge is being ship with someone. *looks at Lichen*
Lichen didn't spare any attention to the fool in front of him and took a sip with a glass of cold water.
His mind wondered at the thought of his "friend and like a brother" Xi'an.
A/N: "Ge" - means older brother in chinese. Can be use even if not related by blood or when someone is older than you.
I'm curious as well as to what happened last night? *lol*
Good coffee, great coffee
The final bell of the school day rang at precisely 3:00 PM. Ruoyu and Xi'an is walking their way to check out the new coffee shop on their small town.
Under the pretense of a caramel macchiato craving, Ruoyu insisted on inviting Xi'an.
Ruoyu
*walks side-by-side with Xi'an*
Xi'an
How come I've never heard of this? *grins showing his teeth*
Xi an's thin lips created a slight pout and he immediately retracted it. Ruoyu chuckles softly by his side.
Ruoyu
I've just heard it too from the girls. Since I invited you the treat is mine. *turn her gaze into him*
Xi'an
You say so, I wouldn't refuse.
Xi'an will readily accepts good fortune when it comes his way.
Who could refuse a free food? Xi'an comes from a modest background. He isn't picky either; free food was free food, he wasn't one to turn down a free meal.
Both saw the inviting coffee shop and entered.
Ruoyu
Their coffee was perfectly well-blended, and the bread wasn't overly sweet. So soft. Eat, waste no time!
Xi'an
*Him who is already eating happily*
Ruoyu
The food was excellent; this place is going to be a hit! It would even make a great date spot. "How's food, Xi'an?"
Ruoyu
Is there someone would you like to invite? O.O *blink* *blink*
Xi'an
I can't think of anyone to bring. *smiles at Ruoyu*
The coffee shop was truly excellent, and Xi'an found himself wondering who he could invite. His mind, however, remained frustratingly empty.
It didn't need to be someone he had romantic feelings for. A friend or colleague would do. Right, a friend! Lichen came to his mind, though thinking of yesterday's incident. It wasn't a major issue. Lichen is a friend, a family to him. A good coffee together would be a perfect way to strengthen their brotherly bond.
Xi'an came into a decision.
Xi'an
"Ruoyu, would you like to join me here again sometime?"
Ruoyu
*stares with eyes widened* Ah! *silenced a bit* "Xi'an you're really asking for me?"
Xi'an
"Yes, let's come back here after class,"
Walking home beside Xi'an, Ruoyu remained in daze by their recent coffee shop experience. Her mind still processing for a moment. Once home, Ruoyu swear to leave a glowing five-star review on the coffee shop's website and recommend it online.
Xi'an
*turns his head at Ruoyu* Bye now, take care Ruoyu. *gently smiles*
Ruoyu
*nods at him* take care Xi'an-ge.
Xi'an casually pushed open the door of their room. He is greeted by the sight of Lichen sat before his computer, one hand propping his chin and is now staring at Xi'an.
Xi'an
*stood in silence, his gaze on Lichen*
Lichen's gaze made him felt like a partner who returned home late from a secret affair, finally caught in 4k.
Lichen
Where did you go? *shifts gaze into computer*
Xi'an
I've check out the newly open shop with Ruoyu. You came home by yourself?
Lichen remained silent. It's very obvious. Of course, he came home by himself. They're roommates. But shouldn't roommates come home together?
Xi'an was on edge. He planned to invite Lichen to the coffee shop. Now he was unsure how to broach the subject.
Xi'an
I forget to text you. *realizing* Wait a minute! You didn't wake me for school this morning, went off on your own, and now you're giving me the cold shoulder?
Lichen
Drop the nonsense. Get change.
Xi'an tossed his bag and uniform on his bed and goes inside the bathroom and to change in a comfortable shirt. He then take this chance to ask Lichen who's outside.
Xi'an
*speaks in a restrained tone manner* Chen. Want to come along to that coffee shop? *grit his teeth slightly*
The young man in question outside reponds in a low-voice.
Xi'an
Ruoyu will be there as well.
Exiting the bathroom, Xi'an playfully jumped onto his bed, then lay still. Lichen's ears were assaulted once more by the familiar sound of Xi'an's snore from early morning.
His brows furrowed, and he walked toward the young man who's sleeping soundly. Lichen then grabbed the blanket from the side and roughly covered Xi'an. His gaze lingered on the sleeping person for a few seconds before returning to his seat.
