Rhea's POV
"Wake up Rhea! You will be late for school! Again!" I was shifting around in my bed when I thought I heard my mom's voice calling me, or did I? Definitely a dream, I thought as I continued to shift in my warm, fuzzy bed, not caring about the incessant shouts coming from downstairs or even the beeping sound of my alarm, however it took me a second to think it over as it was slowly coming to me..school...school..SCHOOL! I immediately checked the time and...it's 8:35!! I cursed under my breath as I hurried out of the comfort of my bed and into the cold bathroom for my morning routine. By the time I was done it was already 8:45, this is really bad! I wore my school uniform in a hurry, not even caring if it looked neat or not, and rushed downstairs for a quick breakfast.
The first thing I saw were my parents sitting on the kitchen table, "Morning mom! Morning dad!" I greeted them with a kiss on their cheeks as they greeted me back. "Morning. You are late but I do advise you with breakfast young lady." I gave my mom a cheeky smile before I grabbed an apple and ran out of the house almost tripping on my loose shoe laces, "Be careful on the way princess!" I heard my dad's voice behind me and snorted at the child-like nickname, "Sure thing, dad! Love you!" With that, I took off to my destination: hell.
I ran as fast as my short legs could take me, well I wasn't exactly that short, I was about 5'5, which is pretty decent and average for my age, it's just that my legs weren't particularly long, my neck and torso were the only things helping with my height.
After an exhausting 20 minute run, I finally made it, though it was already 9:10, which means our first break had started. I looked up at our school building, here it was, the source of every teen's suffering, standing right before my eyes. With a deep breath, I entered my high school with a grumpy expression plastered all over my face, that is, until I felt someone jump on me from behind and we both went crashing to the concrete ground, a very hard one might I add "GOOD MORNING!"
I chuckled at my best friend's cheerfulness in the early morning, "Hardly one when you are on the dirty floor, in the middle of the hallways and covered in dust don't you think so May? Oh and let me not forget, in the early morning too." I groaned at the impact. She looked at me mischievously and quickly helped pull me up on my feet.
Once we brushed the dirt off our cloth we both burst into a fit of laughter before it abruptly stopped with the sound of someone clearing their throat. I tilted my head, ready for the absolute worst, to the side hesitantly only to see my other best friend, Grace, glaring at us, well, more specifically, me. You see, Grace was kinda like the mom of the group, she is always the caring and compassionate type, but her speeches were none of that. As for May, let's just say that she is the difficult type of person to deal with, no kidding.
"Okay, look, before you get angry and start your fancy lecture, I may be just a teensy weensy bit late, however it really wasn't my fault! I over slept because the stupid alarm couldn't do its job properly and wake me up, truthfully!" I hurriedly started explaining, even though I know more than anyone just how stupid that excuse was, especially since it was a big fat lie.
My best friend was still glaring at me and my tongue just couldn't say anything else to try and defend me, it was a traitor I tell you. I started shifting uncomfortably under her scrutinizing gaze, "Umm sorry?"
With that, she tightly shut her eyes before looking at me and said "A bit? You just missed the first 2 hours of school and a really important exam! The one that counts 30% of your grades! 30 Rhea! We are almost graduating, and you just overslept?" Grace gave me the "are you even serious" look.
"Look I know, and I am sorry, I promise I am trying though, you know I am." I said apologetically, hoping she wouldn't start lecturing me, that was the only thing I was concerned about at the moment, her blabbering has no bounds. Please no lecture, please no lecture.
She sighed while shaking her head and said "Fine then. In any case, I tried to cover up for you and told the teacher one of your family members was hospitalized and u had to accompany them there this morning, and with a little bit of persuasion, he agreed and said that you would be able to repeat the exam next week, you would have to stay after school to finish it though." From the corner of my eye, I saw May nodding her head, "You should have seen her, she was on fire, as usual"
A burst of laughter came over me and my eyes sparkled when I heard what she did, giving Grace a big, tight bear hug "Thank you, thank you soo much! I won't let you down next week, I promise! I will study my butt off for this exam!" I smiled at my clever headed friend, she smiled back and flicked her finger on my forehead "You better" she said playfully. "Alright! Since this is all settled down," May said as she hooked me and Grace's arms to hers "Our first break of the day started and we only have 9 more minutes so it's time for lunch ladies!!"
. . .
The three of us walked to the cafeteria and were met with loud noises. We bought our lunch and settled by a table at the very last corner of the room, away from all the hustle and bustle in the middle. We started chatting and laughing with each other, enjoying every second of the time we have together, as the saying goes 'gather ye rosebuds while ye may', we were heading for college really soon, and who knows how often we will be able to meet up, or if any of us will have to study abroad.
However the fun died down the moment our eyes caught 2 girls heading towards our table and stood directly in front of us. Lena and her pitiful squad, well more like sidekick actually, I have no idea why she even has one. Let me explain, like every other cliche high school story, we have our own drama queen, okay not exactly. Lena wasn't exactly beautiful, not to judge, and wasn't even liked, by literally no one. She just went around the school thinking she was something big and popular just because she is a big shot's daughter or something, when in fact, it was far from her imagination.
Everyone disliked Lena, even those "popular" teens, whom were much nicer than her. Lena was actually quite liked back then, but her attitude got her to her current situation, one ''friend'' and a single life. I even heard her father thought of her as an embarrassment, probably a rumour? Kinda sad, but would you blame him? The problem is that, she wouldn't even change herself for the better and simply insist that she has done nothing wrong, and that she is the best of the best, on top of the world, Mrs Queen Bee!! Okay, now I am just exaggerating.
Honestly I would have loved to become her friend, and so would May and Grace, we even tried. Unfortunately, she would rather hang out with the queens of the school, who wouldn't even look in her direction, and when they did, its mostly about "borrowing" money. Somewhat related to this, we became mortal enemies, we can't even stand each other's presence anymore.
"What do you want now Lena?" May spoke up first. Lena gave her a look of disgust, ignored her, and tilted her head to look at Grace. See? That's the attitude I was talking about.
"Hey, Grace!" Lena smiled at her, ughh I forgot just how much I hate that voice, the"time for unneeded flattery" voice. "I just came over to say that the school president is holding a council meeting after school and asked me to send you the message"
Unbelievable..of course Grace would know that, she is the vise president, she would be the first to know especially since she is the one who organized the meeting in the first place!! Oops, I forgot to mention that she was exceptionally stupid, my bad.
What a lame excuse to approach Grace, at least think of something better. Grace nonchalantly looked up while replying composedly "I already know that, I just don't understand why the president sent you of all people to inform me for just that."
Lena looked a bit flushed before covering it up and answered "Oh well, he just spotted me in the corridor and asked me to give you a quick reminder as all", Grace still keeping her cool. She raised an eyebrow, and I knew she was getting annoyed, "Wouldn't he have just called me then, we DO have phones after all"
Haha, I really love Grace, she always talks bluntly with Lena which is absolutely hilarious. She began getting even more flustered and didn't know what to say while stuttering with her words. She isn't much of an "enemy" to be honest, she just does these stupid things all the time, and she always goes off running like a rooster at the end, and the problem is that we have to keep up with her bullshit every single time.
"U-um well actually..oh!-" Okay, I reached my 2 minute limit of breathing the same oxygen as hers. Just thinking of sharing something with her gives me nightmares. I interrupted Lena and completely ignored her unperceiving presence.
"Look at that! Our lunch break is almost over, let's walk outside for a bit before we head to class, I am soo tired of sitting around all day." I said with fake sadness, May immediately joined in the fun, trying to further embarrass Lena after ignoring her
"YES! Great idea Re! Come on Grace, we are SO wasting our time here doing nothing, just staring into thin air while we could be outside breathing in FRESH air" She emphasized on some words, Grace stood up with us, "Alright, let's hurry up then". K.O! Take that! I glanced behind me to see Lena and her "friend" glaring daggers at us with an unbelievably funny look, it took everything I had not to laugh right then and there.
"She Doesn't give up at all" Grace broke the silence. "I know right?! She is trying so hard to annoy you Re, however, all she is doing is embarrassing herself to a highly unbelievable degree! She isn't even learning from her mistakes..I am tired of keeping up with this, I can't wait for graduation" May mumbled annoyed-ly.
I gave them a funny look, "Let her be, at least we have our own share of drama to laugh at once in a while, life is boring after all." I said with sigh, not caring about what happened back in the cafeteria, it happens every day and to be honest, its getting old, even for me.
Call me heartless all you want, but let me tell you, I tried enough with her, she is hopeless. *RINGGG* "Well that's break, let's head back inside before we get to class late" The three of us speeding in our steps before the teacher reaches the classroom first.
Hell finally decided to let us go, for a few hours only of course, it isn't as merciful as you might think, nope it isn't. We still have to wake up early again tomorrow and go through the same old torturous routine. My friends and I bid each other goodbye and I walked back home. Going through a long 25 min walk really took a toll on me, but I have been doing this for years, so my stamina has been built up quite well.
I finally reached my house and went straight inside. It was completely empty and silent, typical. My older sister is in college in a far away state, my younger brother is living with my grandparents and my parents were most likely at work. I took off my shoes off and went upstairs to change my cloth and do all my soon due H.Ws.
After finishing up and cleaning a bit here and there, I headed to the kitchen for a bite of something EDIBLE, cafeteria food was barely ever considered one. It was still oddly quite though. My parents are usually back home at this time.
That's when I noticed the note sitting on the kitchen counter which read, "Dear Rhea, Your father and I went back to America to solve a case we have been working on for a while, I am sorry we haven't told you this in person but it was a dire emergency and it couldn't wait, we will be back in approximately 8 weeks, please take care of yourself and write to us often. Stay in contact with your sister and brother, Your Dearest Mother and Father" Well, this explains the silence, oh well, guess I have the house all to myself for 2 month, That's what you call the best thing ever!
. . .
Hello readers! Okay, I know this chapter was a bit boring but it was important to introduce our 3 characters here and an addition to the female character's enemy. And if you are wondering which country they are in, it's actually in the UK. I promise the next 2 chapters will be the best! That's when the FL finally meets the ML. I really hope you enjoyed it as much as I enjoyed writing it.
Rhea's POV
I woke up pretty early the next morning, probably around 5:30 A.M, like I said pretty early, I have no intention of getting that ever-lasting speech from Grace today. Don't get me wrong, I love Grace, but I would do anything to not listen to her scolding me like a child, I swear she can say a thousand words in one minute without even a need of catching her breath, it's unusually scary.
I slid off the bed and hurried to the bathroom to finish my usual routine which takes about 10-20 minutes, bath and everything. After wearing my uniform and double-checking my presentability, I ran downstairs to get myself some breakfast. Hmm pancakes would be the best choice for today.
After about 25 minutes of walking to school and stopping here and there from time to time, I arrived just before the bell rang by 1 min, perfect. I reached my locker and started taking out my books for today's sessions until I heard a squeak behind me. I rolled my eyes playfully, as usual, miss energetic has arrived.
I turned around to see May and Grace looking at me with a bright smile, "Yup, what you are seeing is not fake, I am here early, flesh and bones." Both of them looked at each other and started laughing as I joined in the fun. "I am glad you are finally starting to listen to me Re, I was honestly prepared to give you the lecture of the day"
Grace said with a slight smirk, I gave her a horrified look, "Thank the gods I made it, I don't think I could ever take your lectures anymore Grace, they are scarier than your father" They both burst into laughter at my comment and I still looked slightly horrified, her lectures are nightmares, why would no one ever believe me! I should probably stop mentioning that though.
Classes went by, as usual, boring and uninteresting, except for History and English of course, literature is the best thing that ever existed, well, after food.
*RIIINNNGGG*
After the bell rang, all of us started packing our books and hurried away from the physics class like it was some kind of plague. Physics was and always will be my greatest nemesis, we don't get along at all, like two parallel lines which never intersect, yeah, I got math involved too.
It doesn't cross me and I don't cross it, end of story. I am more of a magic lover than a science enthusiast, and I don't mean cards and hat tricks, I mean actual magic, something that could never exist, the result of reading manhua all day long.
The break passed by peacefully today with no Lena in sight which was odd, or so I thought. We were in our history class when an announcement from the principal's office called for me, I was both shocked and confused, even my friends were looking at me worriedly.
I am not the type to get myself into trouble at all, unless it was something huge, I mean, why else would someone be called to the principle's office? Definitely not to give you a extra lessons, unless you ever had that. Walking down the hallways, my anxiety starting to build up and I got worries with each step that I took.
I was standing right in front of the door and before I pulled out my courage to knock, I heard the principle call a come in from inside. I took two whole deep breath, and pulled the handle of the door. What I saw made every cell in my body boil in sheer anger. Lena and her lackey were standing beside the principle's desk giving me their sickening smirk and the principle behind her desk giving me an expressionless look.
"Sit down Miss Albert" The principle said, her voice so void, no too void, you would believe you have done the worst thing imaginable to receive this treatment, but I wasn't gonna have any of it, it was obvious I was being framed for something, whatever it was, we all know who caused it.
I sat down with my head held high and back straight, I wasn't gonna succumb to another one of Lena's splendid work of arts without a fight of my own. Plus what would my parents who were LAWYERS, say to me if these people get ahead with something this stupid.
"I believe you have an idea of why you were called into my office today Miss Albert" No miss genius of course I don't, "No Principle Buck, I don't remember doing something wrong to be called here to your office" I said confidently, I have nothing to be feeling ashamed of. The principle gave me a disapproving look and that ticked off a nerve.
"Well you remember wrong Miss Albert, and there will be consequences of what happened" I frowned at what the principle said, what did I even do? What consequences? "Principle Buck, I hope you would enlighten me then" I said almost ridiculing the principle, keyword 'almost'.
Okay now the principle looked annoyed, guess she saw right through my mockery, uh-oh that's not good, "Are you saying you stealing from the school's cafeteria is not considered 'wrong', it seems you need to recheck your morals, Miss Albert" she said raising her voice at me.
Hold on what?! Steal? When in the world did I steal?! And who in their right minds would even wanna steal that disgusting food they serve at the cafeteria. Plus, who is she to talk about my morals, I am positive I have a better upbringing than this woman calling herself the principle.
"I have done no such thing Principle Buck, and you can not justify such a claim without any evidence" I replied, trying hard to keep my cool as I heard Lena snort at the side "The cafeteria had stolen goods from it and sweet Lena here," She said her name with a smile "immediately came to report your immoral act, and I can not allow my students to run wild in my school" She said, slamming her palm on the wooden desk, as if she had already decided everything without even asking for my part of the story, which I bet she has with Lena controlling this brainless principle.
I scowled at her choice of words, "And this is the evidence? Lena telling you, I don't see any physical proof" The principle seemed annoyed that I was fighting back and obviously resisting, but I am so not going down this easily, if she thought I was that shy, quite girl who sits at the back of the class, then she got herself a doozy. "I completely trust Lena and her words need no confirmation whatsoever, besides, she has her friend as a witness" Shee said smugly, is she serious? How is that close to evidence?!
"Pardon my choice of words, but that is nothing close to evidence, and if you say having a friend is perceived as "evidence" then my friends could prove my innocence easily too!"
Take that BUCK, from the corner of my eyes, I could see Lena losing her stance, okay seriously, is she that stupid? Did she not think I would say this at all with that pathetic proof, anyone freaking would, it's not that I am smart, but this is common sense!! "So Principle Buck? May I call my friends here as "witnesses" as you called it?"
She kept staring at me, seemingly contemplating my words, lost in what she is supposed to do now, "Fine Miss Albert, however, if your friends can prove nothing, you will be receiving one week of expulsion" WHAT?! 1 week? Isn't that too much for just stealing?
Whatever, I did nothing wrong either way, and I know my friends will do me justice. "Alright Principle Buck, and if they could? Wouldn't that mean I was exposed to slander by a classmate? What will happen to her then?" The Principle's eyes widened in shock and she seemed to be taking my words seriously now.
If word got out she let go of a case like slander with no punishment, it will put the school is a critical position. Our school was like an open field, one bad thing, and BOOM, the principle leaves. Happened multiple times back in the day. Our principle would change like a girl changing her clothes, literally
"Fine, if you are proven innocent, Lena will receive your part of the punishment. Fair?" She said through gritted teeth. "WHAT?! HOW IS THAT FAIR!" Lena screamed. Wow, what a bad temper. The principle raised her hand, "That's enough Lena, she has yet to be proven guilty, there is no need for agitation, as long as you has seen her, that is all we need"
I tilted my head slightly and smirked happily at Lena, K.O number 2. The Principle then called my friends over and they stood up quite bravely for me, especially Grace, she was exceedingly great with her words, considering her upbringing and all.
Her parents are lawyers and they are fairly rich, almost like nobles, that's where Grace got her elegance from, and well, her grace. It was unquestionably admirable. My parents were lawyers too, but they weren't, well, all that high up, yet. I never really had the interest in following in their footsteps and they didn't mind at all, I already chose to become a Pediatrician, that would be my only dream.
With Grace's great talking skills and her, uhm, incessant justifications, I got out of the situation efficiently while Lena and her lackey got expelled for 1 whole week, you know what that means? I am Lena free the entire time! I could not be happier for the grave Lena dug for herself, could things get any better than this?. "I apologize, Miss Albert, it seems you had nothing to do with this after all," She said, not even sounding the least bit apologetic, it was obvious that she wanted Lena to win this.
Whatever, at least I got out of this sticky mess unscathed. My friends and I left the office and they suddenly caught me in a bear hug, and of course, I gave them a bigger one, I couldn't be happier with friends like them "Thank you guys so much, I couldn't have gotten out without your help, she went too far this time around."
The two of them agreed and started cursing Lena using their own choice of words while I laughed off at their comments. It was mostly funny at how May is animatedly swearing loudly while Grace is appropriately cursing Lena's life under her breath, the irony of those two being friends was hilarious. We reached the front of the school, said our goodbyes, and took off.
Once I reached home, I made spaghetti for lunch, and let me tell you, it was a.m.a.z.i.n.g, from the seasoning to the texture to everything. I get my cooking skills from my dad's side of the family, they would almost be considered chefs. Afterward, I finished up any remaining school works I have had left and finally went to relax my back on the bed. Haha such a tiring day, but very fruitful, no more Lena for 1 week, how happy could I get? It's her fault anyway so I don't feel the least bit sympathetic with her situation.
My eyes felt so heavy as I unconsciously fell asleep on the comfy bed.
*CRACK* *THUD* *BOOM*
And my eyes flew open, whats with these noises, what's going on... it's coming from outside the window how come it seems so near when it's the second floor. Okay, it's okay Rhea, calm down, must be the cats in the streets or something, yeah, the cats on the streets..I laid my head back on the pillow.
*THUD THUD THUD*
Okay those are not cats! Definitely not cats!! I groggily stood up, still half asleep, not knowing what to do right now.
Come on, be brave, move body, move. This always happens and movies and nothing happens, well, most of the time, okay actually, never. It's either they suddenly come from behind or u literally find someone outside, but I can't just sleep like I heard nothing, aaand I don't remember if I closed the window or not.
I cautiously approached the window stool, my legs shaking. I pulled the curtains slightly aside, and something moving caught my eyes. I was about to let out a scream, until I saw a someone agilely getting in, closed the window, and clasped my mouth shut with his rough hand, it all happened so fast, I was rendered frozen in place.
Ready to struggle out of his firm hold, he suddenly thumped to the ground with a loud thud, his hands left my mouth and I started breathing heavily. Who is this man, no what is he?! How did he make it to the second floor so easily...I looked down carefully, only to see the man's unconscious body laying on the cold floor.
. . .
Here it is! The chapter where they meet is finally out, the next chapter will be even better, we will see whether things go will with the mysterious man and Rhea, and what she thinks of the whole situation, I am looking forward to it myself. I hope you enjoyed it, I am trying my best to make these first few chapters as exciting as I could for you guys until things reach the climax.
Rhea's POV
Okay Rhea, hold it together, let's stay rational okay? Alright so, right now there is an unconscious guy, laying on the floor of MY bedroom, inside MY house, and from which he came out of nowhere at all! Yeah, that's not weird at all, except the fact that he was able to climb two stories up high, with no trees around, no bricks, or anything to support climbing the wall, no ladder out the window, and not even a trampoline, I mean how normal could this get me! I groaned loudly, trying to wrack my brain for a way to deal with this..unusual situation.
Should I call the police? No, news spreads fast in my neighborhood and I can't let my parents worry or else they will never leave me home alone again without supervision, and I am not having that at the age of 18, is that okay? No. Is it worth my life? Absolutely.
I can't call a neighbor or relative either, they will contact my parents or even the police, I can't even call my friends because they are one hundred percent hibernating by now, the heaviest sleepers I have ever known. Damn it, if only I could, I would have acted like Rapunzel right about now, however, I do question my capabilities of being able to carry him.
Looking at his firm build, I doubt I am even able to move him an inch, let alone pull him up on a chair and tie him firmly, plus, I am missing the long hair aspect. I groan again out of frustration for my lack of resourcefulness in this dreadful condition, yeah my British side is showing up.
Maybe the best option after all is calling the cops. I hurriedly ran searching for my phone and when I found it, I found out that...it is not charged. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! ARE YOU PLAYING WITH ME NOW GOD! DO YOU WANT ME DEAD THAT BAD?!
My train of thoughts instantly stopped the moment I sensed the collapsed man on the floorboard slightly shift around, and instantly, every inch of my body grew extremely anxious by that faint movement, I could hear my own heart hammer in my chest so quickly, I am sure I would be mistaken for someone who just ran a 10-mile race with wild animals chasing me.
I knew if he woke up, with his apparent body structure, he could snap my neck in seconds! I don't wanna die so soon, I am really too young! I wish I acted quick and went to a neighbor or something, if he wakes up what will I do then, and I can't even move my body because of how tense I am feeling.
You know this feeling when you are sneaking your phone with you at night and you suddenly hear your mom's footsteps so close to the door that you can't do anything about and she just enters and you are looking so stupidly at her without moving an inch? YEAH! THAT'S WHATS HAPPENING NOW.
But why? Why did it have to be my window, was it possibly on purpose? Was he going to hurt me before falling senseless to the ground? Was Lena behind this? And speaking of, why did he suddenly fall unconscious with no obvious wounds on his body? No signs of blood at all..Was it the cause of fatigue? What fatigue Rhea, you aren't even thinking straight, he could have just GONE to his house you idiot!
And why even climb ,or whatever way he got up here, a window in the first place, shouldn't he have fainted before he mysteriously made it up here. None of this made sense, it never could and never will, it was all so...nonsensical, almost like I am in a dream, though I am pretty sure the deafening beating of my heart would scratch that possibility immediately. At least one mystery solved am I right?
While I was deep in thought, pondering to myself, trying to answer these worrisome questions that wouldn't leave my already muddled up head, I had completely missed the actions of the man gradually regaining consciousness. He was groggily opening his hazy eyes with feeble attempts of raising his upper body, steadily and slowly, he successfully sat up straight.
He was constantly blinking his eyelids trying to clear up his blurry vision away and raised his large hands in a shaky movement up to his head, unsteadily pressing it between his palms, and seemingly struggling to remember the last memory he could get ahold of. The moment a weak groan left his lips, I was alert once again, however this time it was worst, I was too startled and instinctively released a high-pitched cry, that had hopefully not alarmed any of the slumbered neighbors or hopefully it did? I DON'T KNOW WHAT I WANT FOR CHRISTMAS ANYMORE!
The man who seemed light-headed a second ago grew tense and was instantly alarmed by my irregular shriek. He abruptly stood up on his feet which wobbled for a swift second before he was able to have some control over them and alarmingly stood up straight, evidently on his guard as he scanned the unfamiliar surrounding he was placed in. Once his glaring eyes caught ahold of my panicky ones, my breathing once again picked up on its pace, and my head was thumping not knowing at all what to do.
I could finally feel my legs again and slowly aimed my feet towards the door, before I knew it, my feet was rushing for the door like my life depended on it, which it obviously did!! But before I could make it, the door suddenly got shut, and locked. Huh? Excuse me? I kept on pulling at the door handle, but it wouldn't open! Why won't it open!! THERE WASN'T EVEN A LOCK! How did it...My mind was thumping so hard I thought I would faint any time and the acceleration of my heart rose higher than before. I slowly turned, my back facing the door, and my hand resting on the handle, grabbing it tightly.
We were like this for the past 5 minutes, his eyes were roaming my trembling petite figure this entire time, trying to decide whether I was some nasty menace that is threatening his almighty existence or just a rabbit looking for it's hole, and honestly, I was offended! He thinks that I, a 5'5 girl with a pale appearance and not a single muscle in her body, would hold a candle to a man such as himself? Is he brainless or what? Had the crash turned him into a complete imbecile to have such ridiculous thoughts roaming his mind?
Once he was done with his ''observation'', his glare still strong and fixed straight into my eyes, "Who are you" He asked rather demandingly with a gruff voice which caused an echo in the quiet room, it was the first time I had heard him talk since he intruded here and I was somewhat surprised at the beginning until my brain seemed to register the meaning of his words and I frowned, unhappy about his question. Who am I? Is he serious right now? He is asking me for MY identity instead of offering out his first as though HE WASN'T SOME COMPLETE STRANGER IN MY HOUSE!
He scowled at my lack of response, like I ever owed him one in the first place! I could sense my forehead muscles clenching together, feeling ticked off by his behavior, frightening or not, he has no right to trespass and demand answers from me as if I was his slave, always at his beck and call. I may sound this brace, but my body was still slightly shaking.
I gathered up my courage and began to argue back, "Me? I think you are missing the picture here pal. I was not the one to break into somebody else's house and ask them who they were, if anything, I should be the one asking who YOU are. And why in the world is the door locked, how did it...close like this" I retaliated, my voice still shaky at what happened just now.
He seemed bewildered at my sudden response as though he never expected anyone to talk back to him this way however immediately after recovering from his shock, he began glaring, this time fiercer, "You are in no position to ask for my identity whatsoever human, you should be aware of your lowly standard here" He spit out menacingly.
Shock wasn't enough to describe my state of mind at all right now. I was always sensitive to details, whether it came to choice of words or to being oriented. So, did he just say 'human'? As if...as if he wasn't one himself... no no no, stay calm, that must have been a slip of the tongue, that's right, it's just a slip of the tongue, or so I hope.
"What do you mean you "human" and you say that yet I am pretty sure you're the only person in this room who is in no position to ask questions here. If you don't like this then how about you leave from where you came" This time I demanded, pointing my finger towards the window he came in from.. I don't know where this all came from, but my shakiness and fear just calmed down? He hasn't done anything to harm me and he seems so confused, maybe he mixed up windows?
The look on his face could be read as pure anger, I was slightly shaken but held my ground nonetheless, my back still pressed to the door. Why does it feel like no one has ever got to him like this, like he wasn't used to it at all? You see, I am not exaactly the type of person to not talk back, which is, yes, a very bad thing, but it became such a prominent trait in me. If he thinks everyone is gonna kowtow at his presence then he definitely hasn't met me yet.
As soon as he was about to argue back, he started coughing hysterically, blood spattering on the carpets and some made it's way to my pale cheeks. I was confounded, but my legs automatically moved as I hurried swiftly to him in an attempt to check if he is alright, which he obviously wasn't.
I am not so heartless as to ignore his frantic bloody coughs even after how he talked to me, or the fact that he just broke in my house. I was not aiming to become a doctor for nothing, just standing there wasn't in my agenda, and I was too compassionate for my own good. Plus, my job is to heal, be it good or evil.
The second my hands touched his back in an attempt to stabilize him, he tensed and swatted my hands away from his body, I was shocked however mostly angered, I was just trying to offer some help yet he shoved me away so harshly. His coughs were getting worst by the second and I could notice his eyes were growing dull. "Are you alright? Okay, you obviously aren't. You need to go to the doctor! If you continue being this stubborn you might faint again or even worse!" I cried out loud so he could hear me over his heavy coughs.
He disregarded my incessant screams and continued to cough and shove me away every time I got closer to him, what is wrong with this guy, how can he be like this!? Once I stubbornly tried to get closer one more time, he fainted on the spot. I was speechless, does he think he could faint and wake up anytime he wants now?
I groaned for the thousand's time today and was thinking of what I could do. Well, I could call the ambulance, they can take care of him, however, I know they will start asking questions about how he is related to me and if he isn't then how is he here and ask for the entire situation and whatnot, I can't lie to the police so scratch that thought. Plus my phone is not charged and the door...is still locked, I almost forgot about that creepy part. I shivered just by thinking about it.
I guess I could try taking care of him till he decides to wake up, he didn't attack me a few minutes ago and he also doesn't seem to know who I am, so I think I am safe. For now. Plus, this could be some practice for my doctor skills, I have never taken care of a patient before. And I honestly can't leave the guy like this, not like I can leave anyways..Is it me? Or is this turning into a Rapunzel movie?
It literally took me 1 hour just to move him from the floor on to my bed. 1 entire hour! When I tell you this guy is heavy, he is really heavy, no questions asked! I stretched my back multiple times, trying to make it feel better after bending it so much. I glanced at the clock to check the time only to discover that it's almost 4 A.M in the morning and I haven't slept a wink for school today! I grumbled, growing tired of today's events that are occurring out of nowhere, oh lord, please help this poor soul out, I won't be able to deal with this guy when he wakes up.
I let out a heavy sigh as I take a look towards the bed only to see the man's face getting extremely pale and seemingly out of breath with beads of sweat trickling down his forehead. I sighed again, stood up, and left for the bathroom in the room to get some cold water and a towel, the faster he heals, the quicker he disappears, wow that rhymed. Once I settled the towel on his forehead and placed the basin of water on the floor, I pulled a seat from the corner of my room and sat beside the bed.
It was the first time I had carefully observed him since the moment he broke in, and now that I look at him, he is quite handsome, more than anyone I have seen either on social media or in real life, not like I have seen any. I sat there admiring his features until my heavy eyelids shut tight and I drifted off to sleep beside the attractive man. Really though, who is he?
