His legs are close together, eyes down, like a child waiting to be scolded.
The engine hums. The car moves smoothly through the city roads. Inside, silence wraps the air like ice.
Shi Zichen – sitting with one leg crossed, gaze outside, expression blank. He hasn't said a single word.
Su Mian – quietly sitting near the window, hands in his lap.
He doesn't look at Zichen. Instead, his eyes are wide, staring at the passing lights, buildings, and glowing streets.

(In mind ): "So many lights…"
"Everything is glowing… is this what outside looks like at night?"

(his face gently presses against the glass)
"The cars, the roads… even the trees look shiny…"

The car passes a lake lit with floating lanterns. Su Mian’s eyes sparkle for a moment.

The luxury car rolls into the vast, cold gates of the Shi Mansion. The property is quiet, intimidating, and endless in size.
Shi Zichen – steps out of the car first, wordlessly, without a glance at Su Mian.
His footsteps disappear into the mansion, cold, confident, emotionless.
Su Mian – sits quietly in the car, hands on his lap, waiting chi sheng to speak.
(sharp, cold voice with disgusted glare)
"What are you doing sitting here? Get inside!"

He quickly take his suitcase and follows her like an obedient puppy.
The maid walks fast through polished halls. Su Mian follows silently, his soft steps echoing in the massive space.

(stops at the last dusty corner, opens the door with force)
"Here."
Inside is a cramped room. The light bulb flickers. A small, broken bed frame. A dusty wooden shelf. A tiny window covered in cobwebs.

Su Mian steps in slowly, eyes stopping at the small window.

He bows politely.

She places scratched glass and small bowl.

(turns with a disgusted face, muttering)

She slams the door shut behind her
Su Mian sets his suitcase down in the corner and sits on the floor. He gently wipes the window with his sleeve.

He takes small bites slowly, smiling like he’s eating something special.

He holds the metal plate close to his chest.
He lies down on the hard floor, tucking his arms beneath his head like a pillow.

Shi Zichen sits in his luxurious bedroom, alone under dim lights, sipping alcohol. His expression is unreadable—cold, tense, distant.
A knock breaks the silence.

His jaw tightens. His hand clenches.
Without a word, he stands up and walks out into the hallway, steps slow but heavy.
The door creaks open.
Shi Zichen steps inside the small, dusty room. The moonlight falls on Su Mian, who is sleeping on the floor, curled up, hugging his thin blanket like a child.

Finally, after several minutes, he stops. Looks down. Expression unreadable.
He turns around, walks out silently, and shuts the door behind him.
