I woke up feeling the dread of morning , I squinted at the rays of the sun and was about to question the existence of life , when I heard my older sister Andy call out from downstairs "CASSY!! "

I don't respond .

"CASSY!!"

I close my eyes and try to imagine a scenerio of me putting my head through the wall.

"CASSYY!!"

opening my eyes I screamed back .

"WHAT!!?"

nothing.

I paused and got out of bed ,let out a yawn and a long stretch . I looked at myself in the mirror .

I smiled at my reflection

My messy curls ..baggy t-shirt and shorts..possible skin breakouts and thought silently

"what the ****"

after I did my business in the bathroom

I headed downstairs because , food was available at the time of day due to the fact that my mother was a provider.

My father was not a part of the family anymore ...simply because ...he was not .

anyway , my younger brother Addy had just awoken from his slumber all ready to devour his breakfast and play ultimately violent games on his weak phone that now possibly has suicidal tendencies.

My cat who i refer to as my son or 'baby' is only 1 year old and already has the audacity to ignore my love and affection for him in the response of him ....obviously. ignoring me .

Mom gives me the coffee and I gladly consider the offer by looking at it and drinking it .

I looked outside and was at peace at how beautiful of a day it was actually ..

I could hear all the sweet sounds ..the annoying neighbour's annoying kid was getting screamed at by his mom for running around the backyard with her inhaler ..which she might definitely need after .

I could see someone run after their dog which was running after someone else.

Life felt easier as I thought of all the other people who had much greater problems than me , and I sighed in content .

That is when it hit me .

I was beautifully late for school .

I rushed back to my room and as I did.. I heard snipets of my mom and my sister screaming at my brother for how incompetent and stupid he was to ...to nothing . he was stupid .

I quickly got in the shower and out in 5 minutes because I didn't have time to sing and dance like Beyonce .

i put on something lame as usual and ran ..

I just ..ran

when I finally got to my school..I was reminded by my conscience that ..

I was seriously attracted to one particular person .

No one .. I'm sorry I was messing with you

anyway , I had math first

As I walked into the lame class of kids who were divided into two kinds

one , the nerds

two ,the idiots

I was something in between

As I entered ..I felt my feet trying to convince my brain ..that it was going to go into physical and emotional trauma ..and even though mr.brain knew mr.feet was right..he just forced it to keep walking ..and in that moment something inside me cried .

I sat at my usual seat near the window ..

where I had free access to fresh air . it kind of made me feel relaxed when I understood nothing of the concept of why Linda at the front wore a bean bag or why I was even here .

so the day went by like a long suffering ..I forgot to mention , I had a good friend

Liz was my best friend , she was the baddie type while I was the one who acted innocent but was a baddie too . *wink *wink

I genuinely was grateful for Liz . she was the one who gave me the courage to tell my parents that I was a lesbian .

Coming out... I thought my family would kick me out because of my sexuality , but instead my mother rather preferred to scream at me in a way of convincing me that it was just a phase . which I definitely think is not ..then proceeded to cry for the next 24 hours while my siblings stared at me from afar.

But at the end everything worked out , and I am happy that it did.

Liz had curly brown hair with huge brown eyes with olive toned skin . she was anyway going crazy over her date with a guy named mark . who was her boyfriend.

I was mentally losing my mind after listening to her version of how much she wanted to spend the day with him .

I was waiting with her outside the school for him .

third-wheeling to be specific .

But oddly Liz stated that she had a surprise planned for me .

And boy was I surprised

Mark apparently came with a friend .

The girl who I've been in love with...but more importantly , The girl who broke my heart and someone I did not want to see ever again.

By her facial expression I learned that she was surprised as well.

I noticed that her skin was paler than before ..and she had gotten thin . she had bags round her dark eyes ..Her long black

hair wasn't as shiny as before.

I didn't tell Liz about her . simply because I didn't want to. I considered her as my past that I missed so much . But I never thought I'd see her again ..

we both stared at each other not knowing what to say.

I could see her eyes wander all over me like, she was searching for something. Her eyes showed some kind of helplessness that I didn't understand.

I looked away recalling how much I had to take in at this moment.

Mark and Liz felt the awkwardness and asked us if we knew each other already.

"No" i said coldly .

which made it even more awkward .

Liz said, trying to dissolve the situation by explaining the situation.

" ....heyyy Cass!! can I talk to you over there"

I stared at her with a dead expression and said yes

we moved away from them and she explained ;

" So ..mark and I thought of setting you both up for a blind date ..because Cassy ..you have been single for a long long time and I did this because I love you and you would love it by the way since I have coupons to double date partys..please don't bail on me "

I looked at my adorable pathetic best friend and thought of her date with her idiot boyfriend. I thought of how happy she would get after.

"no" I said

I saw her face fill in with saddness..so I added " no , I won't bail on you "

and she was stupidly happy again .

I smiled as I watched her .

As we walked back to them and Liz celebrated the decision of my arrival and I rolled my eyes .

" I'm glad you're coming"

I looked at her with suppressed anger in my eyes .

"Max.."

As Liz and mark went off to dance in the croud ..I was sitting at the bar counter trying to enjoy what I have of the night .

I already texted my mom that I was with Liz and everything was fine .

The loud music was getting onto my nerves so I got up to go to the restroom .

That is where a creepy old guy blocked my way and screamed into my ear because of the loud music.

" can I get this fine lady a drink ?!!!"

" no, thank you "

"WHAT??"

"Noo THANKYOU,"

"I SAID! CAN I GET YOU A DRINKK !!"

" NO, I HEARD YOU! "

" WHAT??!"

"I SAID !!! I HEARD YOU!!"

" OKEY THEN .COME ON "

" WHAT??"

" WHAT?!"

Then I ignored him and made my way to the bathroom . but the man kept following me . I looked around for Liz , but I couldn't find her anywhere.

Being scared i started walking faster . I could hear his footsteps behind me. As I entered the bathroom I thought I was safe now ..he wouldn't get in here but .boy was I wrong.. I felt my hair being grabbed back .I yelped in pain . The force made me stumble into the guy .

I started kicking and scratching but the creepy guy remained unfazed. He inhaled from the top of my head and moaned .

The fear I had from then on was spiralling . I tried to scream but he covered my face with his big hands . I couldn't breathe..I started to thrash around while he cursed into my ear to keep quiet . I bit his hand hard .Just when he screamed and threw me down .

I scrambled away as soon as possible and started to take deep breaths .when I looked at him again. I saw max .

She looked right at me from the entrance of the bathroom . I currently had my t-shirt torn . my hair was a mess . I looked horrible . the guy screamed .

" YOU BITCH!!!"

And he came charging at me . I screamed as well fearing what he would do to me now .

Right then .Max had punched him on his back I swear I heard a crack .

i watched as I saw max on a full frenzy .

The sight scared me . The loud music at the background was giving the situation a good action movie sort of a deal .

I just then realized how much taller she had gotten . I watched her kick his balls for the fifth time causing him to lose consciousness.

Max pushed her hair out of her face panting.and sweating. She looked at me . But didn't say anything.

I only realized then that there were people watching . I covered myself not wanting them to see me .I closed my eyes hoping they wouldn't .

Just then I felt a dark cloth over me . I heard max explain something to the security and one of them helped me stand . I also heard Liz's worried cries in between . everything was a big mess ..

As I was escorted out of the place ..I took a look back at max .who in turn was staring at me with one of the security trying to question her of what happend. but all her attention was fixed on me .

I looked away and tried to calm myself

and Liz who was crying like crazy .

The rest of the night was exhausting .

It took a moment for me to realize the dark coat was actually Max's.

i snuck inside my room and took a long shower at 3 am . As I did ..my mind raced to her . I shrugged it all off and went to sleep right after .
