POV: MAWANG
The cafeteria buzzes with the usual lunchtime chaos. Laughter, clattering trays, and the distant murmur of conversations fill the air. I spot Seonghwa across the room, his gaze fixed on the basketball game playing on the TV. He looks so engrossed, his brow furrowed in concentration. A small smile tugs at my lips. I've been crushing on him since freshman year.
I turn to Maya, who's sitting opposite me. "Ready for Truth or Dare?" I ask, trying to sound casual.
Maya shrugs, a mischievous glint in her eyes. "Bring it on."
POV: MAYA
Mawang's eyes sparkle with excitement, but I can't help but feel a pang of apprehension. This game always gets intense. I try to push the feeling aside, focusing on the playful banter with my friends.
"Truth," I declare, hoping to steer clear of any embarrassing dares.
Mawang smirks. "Truth. Who's the one guy you're currently crushing on?"
My heart skips a beat. This is it. The moment of truth. I glance at Seonghwa, who's still glued to the basketball game, oblivious to the drama unfolding at our table.
POV: MAWANG
Maya hesitates, her eyes darting around the room. Finally, she whispers, "Seonghwa."
My stomach plummets. The cheerful atmosphere in the cafeteria suddenly feels heavy. I try to maintain my composure, but the forced smile feels stiff on my face.
POV: MAYA
The moment I utter Seonghwa's name, the air seems to thicken. Mawang's smile falters, and a flicker of something akin to pain crosses her face. I instantly regret my honesty. I should have lied.
POV: MAWANG
I force a laugh, trying to play it off. "Oh, wow. Seonghwa, huh? He's definitely popular."
Maya nods, her gaze fixed on her hands. "Yeah, he is."
POV: MAWANG
The rest of the game is a blur. My mind keeps replaying Maya's confession. The cheerful atmosphere has vanished, replaced by an awkward silence. I can't seem to focus on anything else.
Seonghwa, oblivious to the tension, continues to watch the game, completely unaware of the emotional turmoil he's caused.
INT. COLLEGE CLASSROOM - DAY
Mawang is sitting in her usual seat, her eyes fixed on the professor. However, her mind is elsewhere. She can't help but steal glances at Maya and Seonghwa, who are engrossed in a lively conversation.
POV: MAWANG
A pang of jealousy shoots through her. The way they laugh together, their easy banter, it's almost painful to witness. She's always admired Seonghwa from afar, but now, seeing him interact so naturally with Maya, she feels a growing sense of envy.
MAWANG (thinking): Why does she get to have all the fun? Why can't I be the one laughing with him like that?
POV: MAYA
Maya and Seonghwa are discussing a recent assignment, but their conversation soon turns to lighter topics. They share a laugh, a comfortable silence falling between them. Maya can't help but feel a flutter in her stomach. She's always been drawn to Seonghwa's intelligence and kind nature.
SEONGHWA: "That's a great idea, Maya. I hadn't thought of that."
MAYA: "I'm glad I could help. I'm really looking forward to working on this project with you."
She glances across the room and notices Mawang staring at them. There's a flicker of something in Mawang's eyes - a mix of jealousy and resentment. Maya feels a pang of guilt. She knows Mawang also has feelings for Seonghwa, but she can't control her own emotions.
MAYA (thinking): I feel bad for Mawang. I know she likes Seonghwa too. But I can't help how I feel.
POV: MAWANG
Mawang can't bear to watch them any longer. She excuses herself to the restroom, hoping to escape the overwhelming emotions.
MAWANG (muttering to herself): I need to get a grip on myself. I can't let this consume me.
As she washes her face, she tries to calm herself down. She knows she can't let her feelings consume her. She needs to find a way to move on.
MAWANG (thinking): Maybe I should just avoid them altogether. Or maybe I should talk to Seonghwa and tell him how I feel. But what if he doesn't feel the same way? That would be even more painful.
She sighs, her heart heavy with disappointment.
NOW
Maya approaches Seonghwa, her heart pounding.
Maya: Seonghwa, can we talk?
Seonghwa: Nods, a bit surprised. Sure, what's up?
Maya takes a deep breath and confesses her feelings.
Maya: I... I like you. A lot.
Mawang, hiding behind a nearby tree, witnesses the confession.
Mawang's POV
I saw her, I saw her confessing. She confessed...
I couldnt take it anymore so I left as fast as possible
Now
Seonghwa politely declines Maya's feelings.
Seonghwa: I appreciate your honesty, Maya. But, I don't see us that way.
Maya's heart sinks, but she forces a smile.
Maya: It's okay. Thanks for listening.
As mawang left, she didnt know that seonghwa rejected maya
A Changed Dynamic
Mawang and Seonghwa are in the school hallway. Mawang, who once was friendly and outgoing, now avoids eye contact.
Seonghwa: Mawang, is everything alright? You've been acting strange lately.
Mawang: Hesitates. Yeah, I'm fine.
Seonghwa: Persists. Are you sure? You've been avoiding me.
Mawang: Looks away. It's nothing. Just... personal stuff.
Seonghwa is confused and hurt by Mawang's sudden change in behaviour
A Misinterpreted Encounter
Maya and Seonghwa are studying together in the library. Mawang walks by and sees them.
Mawang: Muttering to herself. I knew it. They're always together.
She walks away, feeling a pang of jealousy and disappointment.
A Heart-to-Heart
Maya notices Mawang's distant behavior and decides to talk to her.
Maya: Mawang, what's wrong? You've been acting weird lately.
Mawang: Sighs. It's just... I thought you and Seonghwa were more than friends.
Maya: Surprised. What? No, that's not true. We're just friends.
Mawang: Looks hurt. I guess I was wrong.
Maya: I'm sorry, Mawang. I should have been clearer.
Mawang: It's okay. I just... I don't know. I feel stupid.
Maya comforts Mawang, assuring her that everything is alright.
Maya: Let's just forget about it. We're still friends, right?
Mawang: Nods, but her expression remains somber.
Maya hopes that time will heal the rift between her and Mawang.
Maya: Mawang if you have anything on your mind make sure to tell me
Mawang : Everything is okay. What could possibly be wrong?
Maya: Right, but something doesn't feel alright though...
Mawang: why? is it because you did smth way to early?
Maya: What is that supposed to mean?
Mawang: you know exactly what it means Maya
Maya: I really don't mawang. What do you mean by this?
Mawang: Nothing atp. So don't worry
Maya: I don't want to stress about it as I have a lot of things going on.
Mawang: Yeah I know.
Maya: yeah.

CIAO MWAH MWAH <33
[SCENE: A packed freshman party. Music blares through the speakers, neon lights flash, and the air is thick with the scent of alcohol and sweat. Mawang stands near the corner, drink in hand, scanning the crowd with a disinterested expression. She hadn't wanted to come, but her friends insisted.]
MAWANG'S POV:
This party is loud, suffocating. I don't even know why I agreed to come. Maybe because deep down, I knew he'd be here. And as much as I want to pretend I don't care, my eyes keep searching for him.
And then I see him.
Seonghwa.
Drunk. Completely and utterly wasted, his body swaying as he moves through the crowd. People laugh and pat his back, encouraging him to drink more, but he seems lost.
Then, his hazy eyes lock onto mine.
SEONGHWA:
"Mawang..."
MAWANG:
(Alarm bells ring in my head as he stumbles toward me.) "Seonghwa, you should sit down. You're drunk."
SEONGHWA:
(Slurring) "Mawang... is it my personality? Or the way I show love? Is that what you hate?"
MAWANG'S POV:
His words hit me harder than they should. My throat tightens as I stare at him, searching his face for a trace of the Seonghwa I know. The one who always seems in control, who never lets his emotions show so openly.
But this Seonghwa is different. Raw. Vulnerable. Broken.
MAWANG:
"Seonghwa... don't do this here."
SEONGHWA:
(Laughs bitterly, running a hand through his hair) "Why not? Because there are people watching? Because you don't want to deal with me?" (His voice drops, softer but filled with something dangerously close to pain.) "Or because you don't have an answer?"
MAWANG'S POV:
I swallow hard, my grip tightening around my drink. He's looking at me like I have the power to destroy him. And maybe I do. Maybe I already have.
MAWANG:
"You're drunk. You don't mean any of this."
SEONGHWA:
"I do." (He steps closer, his breath laced with alcohol, but his eyes... they're clear, desperate.) "You said you hated me. But tell me, Mawang... is it me? Or is it the way I love you?"
MAWANG'S POV:
The room spins—not from the alcohol, but from his words. Because I don't know what hurts more: the fact that he's asking, or the fact that I don't know how to answer.
A bright morning on campus. Seonghwa sits on a bench outside the lecture hall, rubbing his temples. His head pounds from last night's drinking, and flashes of his confrontation with Mawang play in his mind like a bad dream. He groans, frustrated with himself.
SEONGHWA'S POV:
I shouldn't have drunk that much. I shouldn't have said those things to her. But I did, and now I don't know how to face her. Did she even care? Or did she just think I was being pathetic?
"Seonghwa?"
