The air was thick with the smell of ozone and blood. Cracked tiles, twitching limbs, and fragments of monsters were scattered everywhere. Cleanup was never glamorous—but for Savier June, it was a lifeline.
Anonymous Hunter
Hunter 1 (snickering):
Oi, janitor boy. Watch where you're stepping!
Anonymous Hunter
That’s S-rank monster blood, not mop water.
Savier June
Right… Sorry...
He tightened his gloves and bent down to drag a collapsed limb into the disposal bag. His back was already sore, sweat dripping down his temple under the heavy uniform.
Anonymous Hunter
Hunter 2 (mocking tone):
Man, I still don’t get why they let civilians in here. He’s got no stats, no class, no weapon. He’ll be monster chow one of these days.
Anonymous Hunter
Hunter 1:
Nah, he’s here for inspiration. Gonna write a book: ‘How I Mopped My Way into Hunter History’.
Savier June
I’m just here to work. That’s all.
Zero Gill [Tiger|B] 🛡
Maria’s cousin, right? Rich girl’s family must love having this embarrassment on their family tree.

He focused on sealing the monster core fragments into the storage case.
Savier June
💭One day I'd be more than this...
Anonymous Hunter
No way… that’s him...
Anonymous Hunter
Hunter 2:
White Guild’s lightning storm… Lukas Red...
A fierce wind swept in, electric and sharp like a blade. A presence—impossible to ignore—cut through the mocking voices.
Boots clicked against the floor. A tall figure in black combat gear stepped into view, electric arcs dancing along his fingertips, silver hair tousled from battle. His window status shimmered like a god’s judgment.
😑Just imagine guys that his hair is silver😑

Lukas Red [White|S] ⚡️🌪
...You’re blocking the exit.
The bullies immediately backed off, eyes wide.
Zero Gill [Tiger|B] 🛡
S-Sorry, Red-sama.
Lukas’s eyes scanned the room—and paused.
He looked directly at Savier
For a brief moment, the world seemed to still.
Lukas Red [White|S] ⚡️🌪
(frowning):
...You’re not a hunter.
Savier June
(stammering):
I—I’m not. Just... cleanup crew.
Lukas Red [White|S] ⚡️🌪
...
He simply turned and walked out, wind trailing behind him like a cloak.
Anonymous Hunter
Hunter 2 (once he’s gone):
Tch. What did he even stop for?
Anonymous Hunter
Hunter 1:
Beats me. Maybe he sensed the loser aura.
But Savier stood frozen, hand clenched.
Lukas had looked at him—not with pity, but with something else...
I hope you will like it... so we can continue our adventures...

Even with the stench of blood and ash clinging to the air, something shimmered beneath the shattered spine of a fallen beast.
Savier June
💭 ~woah... A mana stone...
Savier’s eyes darted left and right.
The hunters were distracted, showing off their kill count and flirting with the healers.
Savier June
💭No one’s watching... just for a second...
He reached down and carefully pried the glowing shard from the crevice. It pulsed faintly—green, like deep forest light. A Level 2 mana stone.

Savier June
...Green... That’s rare in a C-class dungeon.
A piece like this could feed him for a month.
Maybe even pay off some of his debt.
But if any hunter caught him keeping it—
Savier June
~Glancing around~
Savier June
...No one's looking
He slid the stone into a small cloth pouch, then tucked it into a nook behind a cracked column near the cave wall.
His fingers brushed old, mossy carvings beneath the surface.
Strange symbols, glowing faintly in the dark...
Savier June
💭 I’ll come back for it… Tonight. After clearance ends.
Anonymous Hunter
Hunter 1 (calling out):
Oi! Janitor boy! We’re not paying you to daydream!
Savier June
~Snapping back~
As the team packed up and retreated, Savier lingered for just a moment longer, casting one last look at the nook—unaware that the faint green glow had stirred something deeper within the cave wall.
Abandoned Entrance to Dungeon
The dungeon gates had closed after the hunters left, but Savier knew a ventilation tunnel from his earlier shifts.
He squeezed through it under the moonlight, his heart pounding with every step.
Savier June
I just need the stone...
Savier June
Grab it and go...
Savier June
No one gets hurt.
The darkness greeted him like an old friend.
He slid back to the cracked pillar.
The pouch was still there.
Savier June
Yes… Got you...
But the moment his fingers curled around the pouch—
A section of the wall gave way beneath his feet.
He tumbled down, the world spinning around him, until he landed hard in a hidden chamber below. Dust. Silence. A cold deeper than any winter wind.
Savier June
Ugh… That hurt like hell...
When he opened his eyes, he saw it: a stone altar.
On it lay a book bound in dark leather, etched in crimson symbols that seemed to writhe. The temperature dropped. His breath fogged.
And the voice whispered—not in his ears, but in his soul.
□□□
Child of Dust… Shall you claim the power to command Death?
Savier June
...What... is this?
Dust settled slowly in the air like ash. Savier stood in the hidden chamber, eyes locked on the eerie book on the altar.
But something primal screamed in his mind:
Savier June
Nope. No, no, no. This is bad. This is cursed-level bad.
He backed away, heart hammering in his chest.
Savier June
Where’s the tunnel?
Savier June
Where’s the exit?!
He scrambled along the stone walls, hands dragging against ancient carvings.
No sign of the path he fell through!!!
Savier June
I’m trapped—hell, I’m gonna die down here—!
He spun and collided with something solid. Cold. Massive.
A statue loomed before him—seven feet tall, carved of obsidian-like stone, shaped like a battle-worn General. A sword longer than Savier’s body rested in its hands.
Crimson rubies embedded in the eyes.
Savier June
(whispering):
What… is this...?
He reached out without thinking, fingertips brushing the statue’s chest—just to steady himself.
The moment his skin touched the cold stone—
The statue’s eyes blazed red, and the sword lifted in one slow, deliberate motion.
A low grinding groan echoed as the arm raised—and swung straight at Savier’s head.
He rolled just in time, the blade carving a trench in the stone floor where he’d been standing.
Savier June
~Scrambling up~
Savier June
It’s alive?! That thing’s alive!?
He grabbed a loose stone chunk and threw it. It bounced harmlessly off the statue’s armor.
Savier June
This is insane!
Savier June
This isn’t a trial, this is execution!
The statue advanced. Slow, precise. Death in motion.
Savier June
💭I can’t fight this—I have no weapon, no strength, no powers—!
He dodged another swing by inches, the wind pressure alone knocking him to the ground. Blood trickled from a scrape on his shoulder.
Savier June
I don’t even know why I’m here!
□□□
Only those who face Death may wield it.
The altar behind him flared with eerie black light.
And then the statue moved again—this time faster.
Savier June
I don’t want to die!!
His foot slipped—and his hand slammed down on the cursed book on the altar.
A black pulse surged out like a shockwave.
Statue was freezing mid-strike
...
The red eyes dimmed. The blade halted inches from Savier’s neck.

Oath accepted. Contract forged.

Savier collapsed to his knees, shaking. The chamber fell still. But something had changed.
Inside him, he could feel it.
A heartbeat that wasn’t his.
Savier June
...What... have I done?

The sword hovered at his throat, unmoving, the crimson gaze of the General flickering like dying embers. But the danger had not passed.
Savier June
Why... why can't I breathe...?
His chest tightened. His limbs trembled.
His chest tightened. His limbs trembled.
Then, like black ink spreading through clear water, a numb coldness crept through his veins.
Savier June
No... no, no, no—what is this?!
It was worse than any wound, worse than any fever. A cold that burned. That pulled at his soul like it wanted to rip it out, shred it, rewrite it.
His hands clutched at his chest, but there was no heartbeat. Nothing. Just silence.
Savier June
I don’t… want to die…
But it was like screaming into an abyss. His vision blurred. Black veins spidered across his skin, curling with frost and shadow. His teeth chattered, then clenched.
Savier June
(tears falling, hoarse):
Someone... help me...
But there was no one. Only ancient stone and the presence of death.
□□□
The flesh dies, the soul awakens.
Savier June
(last breath):
...Lukas...
He didn’t even know why he whispered that name.
The last image burned into his mind was a flash of silver hair and cold, storm-lit eyes.
Until the moment his fingers twitched…
And something unseen stirred in the tomb around him.
The chamber was still. Cold. Echoes of death lingered in the air.
Savier’s eyes snapped open.
He sat up. Fast. Too fast.
He clutched his chest—but there was no heartbeat.
Savier June
No... no way...
He touched his skin. Cold. Pale like snow under moonlight. His hands were shaking.
He staggered to the altar, found the warped edge of an ancient mirror embedded in the stone.
His hair was silver, smooth like silk.
His skin had turned pale, almost porcelain.
His brown eyes shimmered unnaturally—flashing green, like twin emerald flames before fading back to a dull brown.
Savier June
I’m not... human anymore…
Savier June
I don't have a heartbeat...

Savier June
(staring, trembling):
S-Plus...? King... of the Dead...?
He backed away from the window like it would burn him. But all he felt was cold.
Savier June
(terrified):
This isn’t strength…
Savier June
This is a curse.
He clenched his jaw. His thoughts spun wildly.
Savier June
💭 If Maria saw this, she’d tell her guild.
Savier June
💭If Lukas saw… would he strike him down like a monster?
He remembered the mocking eyes of other hunters. The cruel laughter. The words:
Anonymous Hunter
You’ll never be one of us.
Anonymous Hunter
Just a wannabe with a mop.
Savier June
I can’t let anyone know… If they find out, I’m dead. For real.
He looked at his pale hands. They trembled.
Savier June
(Voice cracking):
I didn’t ask for this... I just wanted to survive.
But now… he wasn’t even sure he was alive.
Savier June
I have to hide. I’ll figure this out… on my own.
He stood slowly, clutching the pouch with the green mana stone still inside. His only link to what felt like a normal life.
He walked out of the tomb like a shadow passing through silence, unseen.
The statue of the General bowed its head, just slightly.
