Knotted Hearts
Prologue
They say the moon never lies. But under her light, even the purest hearts are bound by blood, prophecy, and curses whispered through the trees.
The night was still when the decree came—
A scroll sealed in ash, edges burned by fate.
The Blue Moon Pack’s only omega son was to wed the Blackthorn Alpha. Not for love, not for peace—but to bind an ancient curse with flesh, with vows, with a bond that should never have existed.
Kim Taehyung stood in the heart of his father’s den, golden eyes flickering with a quiet rage no one dared name. To the pack, he was a symbol—graceful, obedient, divine. But inside, he was a storm. He didn’t want to be a sacrifice. Not for the moon. Not for fate. And especially not for Jeon Jungkook—the cursed alpha of a broken land whose name was only spoken in fear.
Jeon Jungkook, whose hands had spilled blood.
Whose heart was said to be cold iron.
Whose curse had turned forests black and wolves feral.
Whose soul, some said, was never meant to be loved.
Chapter 1
In the beginning, there was the Moon.
She was not just a celestial body in the sky, but a goddess—soft and silver-eyed, the creator of wolves and the keeper of fate. She shaped them in threes: Alphas, born to lead and protect; Betas, born to balance and build; and Omegas, born with the Moon’s most sacred gifts—life, empathy, and the power to bond.
Wolves lived by her cycles.
By her warmth, they found mates.
By her silence, they suffered curses.
Mates were rare. Fated mates—soul-deep, irreversible—rarer still. A single scent, a single glance could bind two souls for life. And once bound, no wolf could resist the pull.
But not every mate bond was kind.
Some were twisted.
Some were cursed.
'The Blackthorn Curse' was the oldest, and the most feared.
No one remembered the exact sin—only the punishment. The Blackthorn Pack’s alpha line had been cursed for generations. Every alpha born of their blood either died before taking a mate or brought ruin to the one they bonded with. Love, in their line, was a death sentence.
The packs had learned to fear them.
To isolate them.
To whisper their names like warnings in the dark.
And yet, across the borderlands, far from the decaying soil of Blackthorn, there thrived a kingdom of light—'The Blue Moon Pack'. Strong, noble, deeply blessed. Their leader, Alpha Kim Taesun, was wise and firm. His people loved him. But what they worshiped most was not him—it was his son.
The only omega born to the royal line in over a century. Revered. Sheltered. Beautiful in ways that made people stare too long. He was everything an omega was meant to be—graceful, gentle, intuitive.
And deeply, utterly alone.
Even now, as the moon hung full in the sky and the palace bustled with preparations, Taehyung sat quietly at the window of his chambers, fingers curled around a cup of cooling tea. His long lashes lowered as he listened to the servants whisper.
Servant 1
They say the cursed alpha is coming.
servant 2
Why would the king give him our prince?
Servant 1
They must be desperate. Or scared.
Taehyung wasn’t scared. Not exactly.
He was furious.
No one had asked him. No one had even looked him in the eye when the announcement was made. The marriage—no, the sacrifice—was arranged in secret between the high council and his father. All to “seal peace” and “unite the old bloodlines” and maybe, just maybe, break the curse that plagued Blackthorn. If the moon willed it.
Taehyung set down the cup. His fingers trembled just once. He stared at his own reflection in the glass—porcelain skin, full lips, eyes that held too many storms.
Kim Taehyung (Omega)
So I am the offering,
Kim Taehyung (Omega)
The moon’s answer to a dying pack.
Outside, the moon shone down like a lover watching quietly. She did not deny it.

Chapter 2
The Blackthorn lands were silent.
Not the peaceful kind of silence, but the hollow, eerie kind that pressed against your skin like cold mist. No birds sang here. No wolves howled beneath the stars. Even the trees stood crooked, as if leaning away from something they feared.
At the heart of this quiet ruin stood a castle of black stone. No torches lit the halls. No warmth touched the walls. Only one chamber burned with life—a chamber buried deep, where no sound could escape.
There, Jeon Jungkook sat alone.
He wore no crown. No armor. Just dark robes, loose around his broad shoulders, and a bandage wound tight over one palm—still stained red from last night’s ritual. The scent of ash and iron lingered in the air.
A letter lay open on the table before him.
'By the authority of the Moon Council and with the consent of both bloodlines, the sacred union between Alpha Jeon Jungkook of Blackthorn and Omega Kim Taehyung of Blue Moon shall commence under the next full moon...'
He didn’t read it again. He didn’t need to.
The name was burned into his mind
An omega. A royal one.
A sacrifice in silken skin.
Jungkook rose from his seat, the wooden floor creaking beneath his weight. His body was a thing carved by years of training—shoulders sharp, muscles tight with restraint. But his face... his face was unreadable.
They were dark. Sharp. Made of something older than rage. Something colder than grief.
He walked toward the large mirror in the corner of the room. The surface was cracked—shattered in three places from a night long ago. He touched it now, fingers trailing over the line that split his reflection in half.
Jeon Jungkook (Alpha)
So they send me a lamb,
He murmured, voice like stone dragged through dust.
Jeon Jungkook (Alpha)
Pretty. Fragile. Royal.
Jeon Jungkook (Alpha)
They think he’ll change the curse?
He laughed—once, low and bitter.
He had seen what love did to his bloodline.
His father, once a proud alpha, had tried to claim a mate. She died screaming within days.
His older brother, Jisoo, had chosen an omega in secret. Both had vanished under the blood moon—nothing left but bones and torn silk.
So no, Jungkook did not believe in fate.
He believed in survival.
He believed in silence.
And above all, he believed in not wanting what he could never keep.
He stared at the letter again. At the swirling ink of Taehyung's name.
The letters felt too soft for a place like this.
He turned from the mirror, teeth clenched.
Jeon Jungkook (Alpha)
I won’t love him,
Jeon Jungkook (Alpha)
But I’ll keep him alive.
The wind howled outside the cracked windows.
It sounded almost like a warning.
