She just came back from the police station

Jennie was walking down the stairs

Chapter 3
Jennie hurriedly called scarlet over

(trembling as she picked it up)

This wasn't here before
Scarlet opens a drawer and finds a photograph
A picture of Jennie's mom laughing, but with faint red marks on her neck

Jennie look at her neck(shows Jennie the picture)

(SHOCKED)The autopsy said nothing about this
Jennie
They said it was a stroke
Scarlet
(lowers her voice) what if it wasn't. .. What if.. someone staged it?
Jennie
(grips the photo tighter)
Jennie
No one dies like this by accident . First Mom, then Dad, then Leo? A week apart?
Jennie
I think someone is covering this up
and I think the police are in on it

Then we find out who
We dig until we know everything

And we don't trust anyone but each other
Papers are spread across the desk- old emails, financial report, and a copy of the autopsy report
Scarlet scribbles notes
While Jennie stares at her father's recent business ledger

Three deaths. Three weeks. All ruled "natural" All had ties to the company
Jennie
And none of them made sense
Mom was healthy. Dad had no history of heart issues. Leo was only 22
Jennie
(pulls up a report on her tablet- an employee roster)
CHARLES DANE- HEAD OF SECURITY
Jennie
He was there during all three incidents. Mom's collapse, dad's "fall", Leo's... Overdose. He was the first to find them all
Scarlet
That's too convenient (narrows her eyes)
Jennie
Charles was also the one who handled police reports and coordinated with the investigators

He said he'd "take care of it"

If he's the connection, then we need to know what he's hiding.
Where's he now?
Jennie
(pulls up the company schedule)
Jennie
He's still listed as active... And he's at the family's old villa. The one no one uses anymore
