Behind Sakura, her parents appear. They look at Yun, then shift their eyes quickly to Sakura.

Her eyes glow faintly with chakra. Ice crystals form on her fingertips.

After dinner, outside the village gates…

[eyes filled with tears] You’re… leaving?
Jiraiya
[kneels down] We have a mission, kid. But we’ll come back. Promise.
Tsunade
[pulls Yun into a hug] Be strong, alright? No matter what.

[sniffling] I don’t want you to go…

They leave. Yun watches them walk away until they vanish into the distance. Her fists clench, heart aching.
Sakura
[dryly] Come on. I’ll show you your room.
Upstairs, Yun looks around. The room is small, dusty, barely touched.

This… is my room?
Sakura
You didn’t really expect something better, right?
Yun Haruno
[forces a smile] I’ve slept in caves before. This is fine.
Next morning, sun shining. Yun steps out of the room wearing a T-shirt, jeans, fingerless gloves, and boots. Her short hair ruffled, kunai strapped at her waist. She looks like a stylish tomboy ninja.
Sakura
[in a pink dress] You’re seriously going dressed like that?
Yun Haruno
Why not? I’m going to school, not a wedding.
At the Hokage office. Sakura, her parents, and Yun stand before Hiruzen Sarutobi.

At the training ground, the sun shines through the trees. Hiruzen stands with his hands behind his back. Sakura, her parents, and Yun stand before him.

[cracks her knuckles] Lowest, huh? Alright then…
Suddenly, with a swift flick of her wrist, glowing scrolls unravel in midair. Three human-sized puppets land beside her with a THUD. Their eyes gleam with chakra.

[shocked] What in the world…?

Puppets? Since when does she—
Yun Haruno
[calmly] These are my puppets. I can attack with them, defend with them…
And… [she smiles slightly] I’ve filled some of their blades with poison.
Hiruzen Sarutobi ( 3rd hokage )

Some I created myself. A few… [tilts head] don’t have a cure. Not unless I make it.
Sakura

Hokage’s Office – Yun finishes signing some documents handed by a chunin.

All set. You’re officially registered.
At the Academy gate — Iruka is already waiting with a clipboard.
Iruka Sensei
So you’re Yun.
We’ve been expecting you. Come on, I’ll take you to your class.
Yun Haruno
[nervous but nodding] Okay…
Inside the classroom, filled with chattering students — Naruto is laughing, Ino is talking loudly, Shikamaru is almost asleep.
Iruka Sensei
[loudly] Alright everyone, calm down and sit in your seats!
Everyone quiets down as Iruka walks in with Yun behind him. Sasuke glances up from his desk.
Sasuke Uchiha
[thinking] A new student? In the last year?
Yun and Sakura both step forward quickly toward the empty seat next to Sasuke.
Sasuke Uchiha
[thinking] She is so beautiful and pretty. Why am I thinking about her?
Yun looks awkward because she notices someone is staring at her.
Yun Haruno
I’m sitting there.
Sakura
[blocking her] No, I always sit next to Sasuke!
Iruka Sensei
[interrupting] Enough.
Everyone settle down. Today, we have a new student joining us.
Iruka Sensei
I know it’s unusual this late in the year, but she’s earned it.
Sasuke Uchiha
[tilts head] But Iruka-sensei… isn’t this the last year?
Iruka Sensei
Yes, it is.
But Yun was trained by the Legendary Sannin — Jiraiya and Tsunade.
Iruka Sensei
She has the skills to graduate right now, but she chose to join all of you for experience and teamwork.
Whispers spread across the room.
