Reborn: To Love My Prince Who Never Became a King
Blurb
Zane Knight {DO}
They said time heals everything.
But what do they know about betrayal, about being touched without consent, about screaming in silence while everyone moves on?
Zane Knight {DO}
I was broken—by the boy I loved, by the family that promised to protect me, and by a world that forced me into a marriage with a man I barely knew.
Zane Knight {DO}
Lucian Knight. My husband.
Zane Knight {DO}
He never asked for my love. Never offered me his.
He just… stayed. Quiet, distant, untouchable.
And by the time I saw the truth—by the time I realized I loved him—he was gone. Dead. Stolen from me by the very people who ruined my life.
Zane Knight {DO}
But death wasn't the end.
The universe gave me another chance. A rebirth.
Now, I carry the weight of two lifetimes—one filled with regrets, the other with vengeance. I will find the truth. I will make them pay.
And this time… I will protect him.
Zane Knight {DO}
For my prince who never became a king,
I will rewrite our story—with blood, fire, and love.
Zane Knight {DO}
In one life, I lost him to fate. In this one, I’ll burn the world before I let him go again

Love you
The dense forest stood still, the quiet only disturbed by the soft crackling of fire and the faint sound of metal creaking under pressure. A car lay wrecked against a massive tree, the hood crumpled inward, smoke curling into the night sky. Blood dripped onto the shattered glass, seeping into the cracks like cruel veins of fate.
Inside, a young man, no older than twenty-five, sat slumped against the seat. His once-sharp eyes were now glazed with pain, a deep wound on his forehead leaking crimson down his face. His breaths were shallow, labored. He knew. This was it.
With trembling fingers, he reached for the small photo frame clipped onto the dashboard. The image inside—familiar yet distant—made his chest ache more than his injuries.
Zane Knight {DO}
(A choked sound escaped him, half a laugh, half a sob.)
Zane Knight {DO}
Karma, huh? I guess… this is what I deserve
Zane Knight {DO}
(His grip on the frame tightened as he struggled to focus on the face staring back at him)
Zane Knight {DO}
I’m sorry (he whispered, his voice barely audible over the hiss of the dying engine)
Zane Knight {DO}
I was never… a good husband to you.
Zane Knight {DO}
(A painful cough racked his body, his vision blurring, but he refused to let go of the frame.)
Zane Knight {DO}
You had already suffered before I came into your life… and I only made it worse. I should’ve protected you. I should’ve seen you
Zane Knight {DO}
(His voice cracked, raw with regret)
Zane Knight {DO}
But I— (He let out a bitter laugh)
Zane Knight {DO}
I was a fool. I let my anger blind me. I let my hatred shape our marriage into something it should never have been
His eyes stung, though whether from pain or unshed tears, he wasn’t sure. The weight in his chest grew heavier with every passing second
Zane Knight {DO}
I wish… I wish I could go back. I wish I had trusted you when you begged me to. I should have listened… should have believed in you instead of them.
Zane Knight {DO}
(His fingers traced the photo’s edges, his blood smearing against the glass.)
Zane Knight {DO}
Why did it have to be this way? ( His voice cracked)
Zane Knight {DO}
Why did fate have to be so cruel? If only we had met differently…
Zane Knight {DO}
If only you weren’t my replacement groom…
Zane Knight {DO}
Maybe… maybe I wouldn’t have hated you so much
His breath hitched, his body trembling. His heartbeat was slowing, he could feel it
Zane Knight {DO}
Why? (His voice grew weaker, the fire in his eyes dimming)
Zane Knight {DO}
Why did I listen to your mother instead of you? Why did you never tell me your pain…
Zane Knight {DO}
But carried mine without question?
Zane Knight {DO}
(Tears slipped from the corners of his eyes. His time was slipping away, and all he could do was mourn what could have been.)
Zane Knight {DO}
I should have told you… should have confessed.
Zane Knight {DO}
(His lips trembled as he forced the words out)
Zane Knight {DO}
I Love You
Zane Knight {DO}
(His grip on the frame slackened, his body growing limp. A sob, barely a whisper, left his lips.)
Zane Knight {DO}
But how can I say that… when I was part of the pain that broke you?
The darkness pressed in, suffocating, relentless. His fingers barely brushed against the image one last time as he exhaled a shaky breath.
Zane Knight {DO}
I wish… I could have another chance. Not for me… but for you… so you could be happy…
Zane Knight {DO}
Without me
Zane Knight {DO}
(His eyelids grew too heavy to keep open. His lips parted, a final whisper escaping into the night.)
Zane Knight {DO}
I love you… I’m sorry…
Awakening in the Unknown
A sharp gasp left Zane’s lips as he jolted awake. His body felt weightless, yet the ground beneath him was solid. A blinding white light surrounded him, stretching endlessly in all directions. He squinted, his hands instinctively shielding his eyes.
Zane Knight {DO}
(His heart pounded.)
Zane Knight {DO}
Where am I??
Zane Knight {DO}
Is… is anyone here?
Zane Knight {DO}
(His voice echoed, bouncing off the nothingness around him)
Zane Knight {DO}
(He took a step forward, his movements unsteady as he wandered through the unfamiliar space)
Zane Knight {DO}
(A bitter chuckle escaped him.)
Zane Knight {DO}
So this is hell? ( murmured)
Zane Knight {DO}
No way I'd make it to heaven after everything I did to him (sad sigh)
Zane Knight {DO}
(His fingers curled into fists, a deep sadness weighing on him)
Zane Knight {DO}
Lucian… I miss you already.
Then, a sudden thought struck him.
Zane Knight {DO}
Wait… If this really is heaven, then… then I can see you again!
Zane Knight {DO}
(His heart clenched at the possibility, and before he could think twice, he broke into a run.)
Zane Knight {DO}
(His feet barely touched the ground as he searched desperately, his eyes darting around in every direction)
Spirit
So you’re happy that you died?"
Zane Knight {DO}
(Zane’s breath hitched, his feet skidding to a stop.)
The voice—deep, calm, yet undeniably powerful—echoed from nowhere and everywhere at once. He spun around wildly, searching for the source, but found nothing but the endless white void.
Zane Knight {DO}
Who’s there?
Zane Knight {DO}
(His voice trembled slightly)
Zane Knight {DO}
Where are you hiding?
Before him, a colossal form began to take shape, light swirling into the form of a towering spirit—its presence both terrifying and strangely comforting. Zane felt small in comparison, yet he stood his ground.
Spirit
(The spirit’s gaze bore into him)
Spirit
You now stand before the gates of heaven
