chapter 1

The room is quiet, except for the rhythmic beeping of the heart monitor. The soft morning light sneaks in through the half-open window, casting a pale glow across the sterile white walls. A faint smell of antiseptic lingers in the air, mixing with the distant hum of hospital equipment. Reha lies still in bed, her pale face almost lifeless, her hands resting by her sides. Her heart monitor beeps steadily, a sign that she's still holding on. ---

(Softly, with a comforting tone) Can you hear me, Reha...?

The nurse stands beside her, her hand hovering near Reha’s wrist, checking the pulse. The sound of her soft breath fills the room as she waits for a sign.*

The nurse leans closer, her voice filled with gentle concern, but there’s a faint glimmer of hope in her words.*

Reha's gaze is distant, as if she’s trying to piece together where she is, what happened. She lifts her hand slightly, but it trembles as though the weight of the world is on her body.*

Don’t try to talk right now. You’ve been unconscious for so long. I’ll get the doctor. Please, stay with me...

She rushes out of the room, her footsteps echoing down the sterile hallway.* --- *The sound of the door opening breaks the silence. Dr. Kim enters, along with Nurse Yuna. The air feels heavier now, filled with the weight of expectation. Dr. Kim adjusts his glasses, a look of cautious optimism on his face as he approaches Reha’s bed.*

Reha’s eyes flicker as she struggles to focus on the doctor’s face. Her vision is blurry, but she senses his presence, and her body seems to respond slowly, like a flicker of life coming back. She blinks slowly, as if trying to understand.*

Nurse Yuna stands nearby, anxiously watching Reha’s every move, her fingers clutching the edge of the hospital bed. The machines beep softly in the background, marking the passage of time.*

Yuna, call her family. Tell them… Reha has woken up. This is a miracle.

Nurse Yuna nods, her hands shaking as she takes out her phone and exits the room in haste. The quiet hum of the hospital becomes louder as the moments stretch on.*

Reha’s eyes slowly shift towards the ceiling. Her body is still weak, but her mind is active, filled with fragments of memories that begin to surface. She stares at the white ceiling, the sterile light above her flickering in the distance as if it’s trying to reach her.*

Hospital Room Joy fills the room, but a strange heaviness lingers...

(Teary-eyed, softly) Reha... my baby... you’re finally awake

Mr. Min-jun – Reha’s Dad

(sitting by her side) We missed you so much, sweetheart

[Suhyun - Reha’s Older Brother] (smiling, trying to stay strong) little... welcome back.

[Mrs. Hae-won – Riva’s Mom]

(wiping her tears) It’s truly a miracle... you’re here with us again

[Mr. Dae-hyun – Riva’s Dad]

(gently places his hand on Reha’s shoulder) You fought so hard... we’re proud of you.

[Taejoon – Riva’s Older Brother

(Quietly from behind) You came back to us, Reha...

(weak, looking around) Papa… Where’s Riva...? Why didn’t she come with you all?

The room falls into sudden silence. Only the soft beeping of machines fills the air. Everyone exchanges a quick glance — uneasy, unsure.

Mr. Min-jun – Reha’s Dad

(after a long pause, faking a smile) Sweetheart... you know how important Riva’s college is. She didn’t want to leave you, not even for a second... But we had to convince her with great difficulty.

(innocently) Did you tell her…? That I’ve woken up?

Mr. Min-jun – Reha’s Dad

(steps closer, gently hugs her) Yes, dear... I called her right away. But you know how hard she’s working at that college. She’s really busy with assignments and classes... She’ll come as soon as she finds time, I promise.

(nods slowly, trusting) Okay...

Reha leans back into her pillow, exhausted. A soft sigh escapes her lips. She believes them — for now. But no one in the room can hide the tension in their eyes. A silence filled with secrets lingers in the air...

chapter 3

Physiotherapy Room – Hospital

Reha is slowly trying to walk, sweat trickling down her forehead, but there's determination in her eyes. A physiotherapist supports her with each step. Every movement feels like a battle.

(supportively) That’s it, Reha… just a little more. You’re doing great.

Reha pauses, grabs onto the wall for support, taking a deep breath. The session ends.

Hospital Corridor – Later

Reha walks slowly beside her older brother, suhyun.

reha

(softly, tired voice) Hyung… is Riva still busy?

Suhyun

(slightly hesitant, forcing a smile) Yeah… she’s a little busy…

reha

(stops walking, looks straight at him) But how busy can someone be… that she didn’t call me even once?

Suhyun

suhyun’s smile fades for a second.

Suhyun

Don’t worry, okay? You know how Riva is — crazy about her dreams… College, assignments, designing — she’s just caught up in it all.

reha

Reha doesn’t reply. She just nods slightly and continues walking.
