It's another day.

Another day for the lorries family. Jenna fluttered her eyes open as the cock crowed. Sighing she got off her rickety mattress leaving her snoring sister, Maya. She took a shower got dressed and headed to the kitchen.

"Morning mum!"

"How's your night dear?" her mum replied.

"Good mum" she said opening the refrigerator.

"The milk is finished.... Again?" she batted her eyes in utmost surprise.

"God!... I forgot to buy one yesterday I, now I've got no money on me again" Mrs lorries sighed as she brought out baked muffins from the oven.

"What will I have for breakfast now?!" Jenna said annoyed.

"You can have one muffin and sell the rest fifty-five pieces, so that will be fifty-five dollars total" Mrs lorries said as she placed the muffin in a racked basket.

"Uhm, thanks.... Send Vera to get my lunch, bye" she said and left.

Most of her sisters were already awake as she left for the sales of the day. Their apartment was a shabby looking one with twenty families occupying each apartment, the lorries were the most wretched. Henry lorries abandoned his wife and twelve beautiful girls for a rich woman. Now Sarah, the mother along with her children suffered.

"Buy your sweet muffins.... one dollar for one" Jenna yelled.

"Hey girl, two muffins please" a huge man said from his car.

"Here you go, 2 dollars sir" Jenna handed him the wrapped muffins.

"Keep the change" the man threw the money out of his car and drove off.

"Fool!" she muttered under her breathe.

"Jenna!!" someone called.

"Catherine!!.... You came?" Jenna smiled.

"Of course, I promised you I'll... Hope you are not done selling?"

"Nope, I hope your Dad knows you are out, I don't want him making a scene" Jenna said sad

"He's out if town, don't worry" Catherine said

"Well then here's your straw hat" Jenna handed her a hat to shade the sun.

Jenna and Catherine has being friends since pre school although their class differences. Catherine was from a rich family. They both had a blast selling the muffins. After the sales they decided to spend time at Their best place in town.

TOM'S BOOK STORE

The store was not a big one, but the books were pretty big and fascinating.

"Hey Tom!" the girls greeted.

"Tom's great as ever... Howdy you girls?"

"Cool.... Is the adventure of lady gold episode one hundred and fifteen out?" Jenna asked excitedly.

"I think so... Go check it out" Tom said happily. He's such a sweet man. The girls went to the adventure section and began searching for the comic.

"Found it!... Jenna over here!" Catherine yelled excitedly and Jenna raced towards her. They sat on the reading couch to enjoy the comic.

"Catherine! Catherine! Where's she?!" a woman yelled as she bathed into the reading section.

"Oh, oh" Catherine's voice trembled

"You?!... I knew you lured her to this, bad influence" the woman roared angrily pointing at Jenna

"Mum she's done nothing"

"Shut up will you?" She raged and Jenna shivered

"Your home school teacher came today, and you sneaked out to see this brat, bad influence.... This brat deceived you to read mind decaying books?!" Catherine's mum shouted as she took the comic and flung it to a corner of the room.

"Oh yes you are!.... You're grounded, and I don't ever want to see you with this wretched, filthy, good for nothing idiot, ever again!" she yelled.

"But mum....."

"No buts.... Now let's go home" she dragged Catherine behind her. Shame was clearly written on Jenna's face. Her one and only friend was being taken away from her. 'No one likes us for who we are really were' Jenna thought.

"Sorry dear... You can borrow the comic" Tom said pitifully.

"Don't worry Tom...bye" she said sadly and walked off. Jenna tried fighting back the tears, but some dropped anyway.

"Hey mum"

"Honey!... What's wrong, you seem sad?" Mrs lorries said placing dinner on everyone's plate.

"Nothing... What do we have for dinner?" Jenna asked placing the money for the sales on the table.

"Mushroom soup" Vera replied

"Not hungry, Vera you can have it" Jenna said and left to the bedroom. She took a quick shower and went to bed Crying hard. She's continuously cursing her Father for leaving them to suffer.

"God why me?" she cried hard.
