The story is taking place in the XX hospital.
I'm an orphan. I lost my parents in an earthquake. I was the only one survival in my family. I grew up in an orphanage. With some kindnesses help, I got to study and even got a job now. I'm really thankful to them.
It's my first time here in this hospital. Even it's my first time working in a hospital. I just got passed in the previous month and applied for this job. Thank goodness I got this job.
Now I'm walking towards the chief doctor's cabin to join in my duty. I don't know why I was assigned to work with the chief doctor for my first day here.
I knocked the door slightly.
I went in after getting the permission.
I saw a man in his 50s. He was having a serious face and figure. I felt nervous as it's my first time meeting a higher up in my job.
Chief Doctor
So, you are the new nurse?
Yeah, I studied nursing. Even though male nurses are uncommon. Still the pay is really good and that's why I took this course. So, I could support the orphanage I grew in.
I don't know why, the chief doctor's gaze towards me, made me a bit uncomfortable. He was literally staring at me and looked me from top to bottom.
Chief Doctor
mmh. It's really rare to see male nurses. Are you really ready to work here?
Jerome
I will try my best Chief.
Chief Doctor
mmh. Did someone told you to call me Chief?
I didn't expect this question. Before coming here I have met nurse Mia who was a senior of mine. She is the one who told me to call the chief doctor as chief because everyone calls him like that.
Chief Doctor
No need to explain. Everyone calls me like that. Continue to call then.
Thank goodness. It's a relief. I felt really nervous back then when he asked me this question.
🏥Attender:: "Chief, there is a patient for you."
Chief Doctor
Don't you see I'm talking? Tell them to wait.
I felt the chief doctor little rude as what we studied is that, patients comes first and we should serve them.
🏥Attender:: "Chief, it is sir Lucas's subordinate."
Chief Doctor
O M G! Why didn't you told me it first?
Chief Doctor hurriedly took his equipments and give them into my hand. I don't know why he is like this. Is the patient that much important?
Chief Doctor
What are you lazing about? Follow me quickly.
I started to follow Chief Doctor. I feel nervous as it's my first time attending a patient. Hope it will go well. And that I don't make any mistakes too.

Scene: 02 is happening inside the XX hospital.
Jerome was following the Chief Doctor and they went inside the casuality.
Lucas
What is it doctor, you are late? *lightening a cigarette*
Chief Doctor
S-sorry. I was interviewing the new nurse who is assigned under me.
Lucas
Oh! So you find it more important than attending my subordinate?
Chief Doctor
I- I didn't meant it sir.
The chief doctor was sweating and trembling because of nervousness and it was sure that he was scared of the one who he is talking to.
Lucas
What are you looking at? Examine him.
Lucas glared at the chief doctor and the doctor hurriedly went to Lucas's subordinate. Jerome followed the doctor too.
Lucas took a glance at Jerome and went outside smoking.
Jerome followed chief doctor and went to the patient.
Jerome saw a man who was covered with blood and scars even in his face. Blood was flowing all over his body and socking his shirt.
Chief Doctor quickly went to that man and cut opened his shirt.
Jerome was handing the scissors and equipments to the chief doctor. And also looking at the patient's wound on his abdomen. It was a bullet shot. Chief Doctor pull out the bullet even without giving sedation to him and moreover it was surprising for Jerome that, the patient didn't scream in pain or anything.
Jerome looked at the patient and he had to look away as he saw the patient staring at him.
Chief Doctor
How are you feeling now, sir Richardson?
The patient didn't replied anything to the Chief Doctor but just hummed the sound 'mmh' looking at Jerome.
Jerome
(Why is he staring at me?) 😥
Jerome couldn't feel less and he felt really scared even by looking at that patient.
Chief Doctor called out for Jerome.
Chief Doctor
I have pulled out the bullet. Clear the wound and bind it up. Ok?
Chief Doctor
I will take my leave now, Sir Richardson. Take some rest.
Saying this Chief Doctor left from there leaving the scared and nervous Jerome in to the lion's den.
There were two more people beside the patient.
Jerome was trembling as he put the spirit on cotton to clean the wound of patient in his abdomen.
Richardson
*eyes at the other men present in the room*
The other two men who were present there nodded when they saw Richardson looking at them and went out side from there.
Jerome felt more scared when he saw the other men also went outside of there and it was only him and the scary patient.
Jerome went near to the patient with cotton and spirit.
Jerome's hands were trembling as he was cleaning the wound.
Richardson
Am I that scaring?
Jerome got flinched when he heard the scary patient talking.
Even though he did felt scared, he can't just tell it out. Right?
Richardson
Then don't act like you are. I'm not going to eat you or something.
Jerome began to dress the wound after cleaning the wound and applying medicine. He was concentrated in his work even though he felt scared seeing his first patient.
For all this time Richardson was staring at Jerome and viewing each expression of him carefully.
Richardson
*slightly smiles*

Scene 03 is taking place inside XX hospital.
Lucas went outside smoking after talking to the chief doctor.
Someone suddenly called out to Lucas making him look at the place where the voice came from.
Lucas
What is it? *raises an eyebrow*
Dr. Andrew
Can't you read?
Lucas felt the question unreasonable.
Dr. Andrew
Can you read or not?
Even though Lucas felt it as unreasonable question he still answered it as the other person seemed a little bit serious.
Dr. Andrew
What is it means in that sign board?
Lucas really liked the other man who was throwing a tantrum and found it interesting.
Dr. Andrew
It says "NO SMOKING"
Lucas
So? *raises an eyebrow*
Lucas asked it just to create a scene.
Dr. Andrew
So? You are asking So?
Dr. Andrew was getting angry right there.
Dr. Andrew got really angry at the other man as he was replying rudely.
Dr. Andrew forcefully took the cigarette from Lucas's then light off it's fire and threw it inside the dustbin.
Lucas
Hey! What did you do?
Dr. Andrew
What? Can't you see? *smirks*
Dr. Andrew smirked at Lucas then said this and went from there.
Lucas
Interesting... You are really making me get interested in you, little kitten. *smirks*
Lucas felt that Dr. Andrew is interesting because he have never met someone who would raise their voice in front of him. Even those who don't know about Lucas being a mafia gang leader wouldn't do so too as his looks are really scary.
While with Richardson and Jerome
Jerome
A-are you feeling ok?
Richardson
mmh. *staring at Jerome*
Jerome
(Why is he staring at me?)
Richardson
Why did you became a nurse?
Richardson asked it all of a sudden which made Jerome to flinch a little.
Jerome
Sorry, I didn't heard you?
Richardson
I asked, why did you became a nurse?

Richardson smiled a little seeing Jerome's expression.

I meant that, I have never saw a male nurse before. Why did you chose this as your profession?
Jerome
Actually, there were two more male students who studied with me. It's not really common, I agree. But it doesn't meant I can't choose this profession just because I'm a man. Right?
Richardson looked as if he was thinking deeply then replied,

Jerome
So, do you feel pain anywhere.
Jerome
I will let the doctor know if you aren't feeling ok.
Richardson
No need to call the doctor. You just stay here.
Jerome

Two guys who were ordered to go out by Richardson.

Can you hear anything Joyce?
Both of them were leaning on the door and trying to hear what's happening inside there.
Nick
If I heard anything, would I ask you?

That's right too. What is exactly happening inside there?

I don't think anything interesting happened.

Nick imitated Richardson's face.

Lucas

Joyce and Nick looked at each other and said at the same time.
