TO KILL FOR HER

CHAPTER -1 ~`BENEATH HER BEAUTY`~

Her narrow eyes scanned the surroundings, for any sign of threat. Her muscles were taut, and her jaws clenched tight. The forest was still, silent. Except for the shallow breaths I struggled to control and the soft rustling of leaves beneath. The trees looked tall and dense, their shadows casting eerie figures on the damp ground.

She stood far, her body still, but the faint tension in her shoulders spoke of an alertness that contradicts her calm demeanor. Her fingers wrapped around the gun with precious, each movement fluid and deliberate. It was clear she'd held held one before. She didn't just know how to shoot, she was a marksman. The sudden crack of gun fire shattered the silence. My heart raced as the sound sliced through the air from my left. A bullet whizzed by, narrowly missing. Someone had tried to kill me, but they'd failed.

I knew whoever it was would take another shot, this time with a steadier aim, but I didn't move. I couldn't. It wasn't fear that held me in place, but something deeper, something out of my control. I kept my eyes locked on her, unwilling to look away for the fear she might vanish into the darkness. My instincts screamed to turn around and fire at the person behind me, but I stayed frozen.

She, the woman in black, her face partially obscured by shadows, stared back at me. A silver gleam traced the curves of her features, catching the light on strange flashes. Her eyes remained fixed on me, unblinking, yet I could sense her attention shift to something behind me. Without warning, she lifted her hand and aimed the gun at my left side, firing in one fluid motion. A dull thud echoed, followed by the rustling of leaves. Her aim was flawless, just as I'd expected it to be. She began to walk towards me, each step measured. I couldn't look away.

Her presence was so magnetic. Her posture, so serene, so controlled. It captured me in a way no woman ever had. She was almost upon me now, mere inches away. And yet I wanted her to be closer. I wanted to see every detail of her face, her body, the curves of her hair, every inch of her.

She didn't say anything and I was too stunned by her beauty to begin. She was tall and imposing, her figure was draped in black from head to toe, a fluid, almost liquid darkness that seemed to absorb the light around her. Her skin, in stark contrast, was fair almost unnaturally so flawless as smooth as marble. Beneath that pale facade, there was coldness that could freeze anyone who dared to look to closely.

She had the kind of beauty that could kill, it wasn't the soft and gentle allure of beauty, it was the kind of beauty that made people freeze in place. Paralyzed by fear and admiration all at once. Finally, I said in a low voice,

"You're different from anyone I've ever met"

I studied her intently, trying to keep my composure as her beauty leaves me speechless.

She teased me with a slight smirk, her eyes glinting for the first time in the moon light.

"Is that so? And what exactly do you think you see?"

She leans in slightly, her stance still cold. My heart starts to race but i remain calm.

I tilted my head, I was amused as she stared into my eyes, a smirk formed on my face too. I replied her waiting eyes,

"Something dangerous head beautiful I couldn't look away from the second my eyes laid on you."

There was something in her, really, her eyes kept me transfixed. She tilted her head and her smirk became evil, as she was mocking me. She spoke in a teasing tone,

"Dangerous? You've barely scratched the surface Maverick Brixton."

She stared into my eyes for the last time and moved to a side. I stood there trying to understand what she meant and when I look around, she was no where to be seen.

She knew my name, the way she said it took my breath away. With her lips, dark and full who curved done to the faintest of smiles. It was a smile reserved for the pray she toyed with. Her beauty was a weapon, a blade wrapped in silk.

The way she tilted her head, the way she stepped forward, the way her fingers moved just slightly when she reached for something, she was a force of nature. A killer draped in the illusion of elegance.

CHAPTER -2 ~`THE WHISPER OF A DEAL`~

I recieved a news through text late one night. It was coded, the kind of message that only someone in the know could understand. TARAN MAGNUS. His name sent chills through me. He was the linch pin of international trafficking ring and if anyone had the power to send innocent lives into the darkest corners of the world, it was him. His influence stretched from New York to the Mexican borders where the nightmare he orchestrated unfolded. The girls would cross into Mexico with no chance of escape, destined to become commodities for the highest bidder, gambled on, violated and ultimately forgotten. But there was something about the timing of this message that sent nerves on edge. ASPER BROWN, one of my most trusted comrades, a former insider with connections to law enforcement and human trafficking intelligence, had just intercepted information that painted a clearer picture of TARAN'S next move. The shipment, if we could call it that, was sent to cross the borders within 48 hours.

The operation would be swift, the girls would be transported in the dead of night, smuggled by covert routes through tunnels and back alley drop points, all while MAGNUS pulled the strings from behind the scenes.

The plan was devious, made to be nearly impossible to unravel. They would use fake documentations, bribe officials and encrypted communication channels that few could crack.

KEETHAN, another workmate who had used is connections with a group of hackers, had pieced together enough of the puzzle to give a fighting chance. His knowledge of underworld was vast, and he understood the language of traffickers better than anyone.

But then there was one factor which threatened to shatter TARAN'S plan. X. No one new who X was, but his name struck fear into hearts of even the most ruthless criminals. X was also shadow group of mercenaries like us, the LILITHS. X had a network even more impenetrable than MAGNUS. The entire mission would fail even without the knowledge of MAGNUS before we even made our move.

This was the first time we LILITHS decepted to do something as dangerous as confronting MAGNUS. I knew that this would put our lives in jeopardy, but I couldn't back down. The stakes were too high and too many innocent lives hung in the balance.

We had 48 hours to act. The clock was tickling and every moment that passed felt like a heartbeat closer to the inevitable nightmare that would unfolded the second those girls enter Mexico.

I knew I had the strength to fight and survive, but my thoughts were consumed with the safety of my comrades. My own life, the threats closing in, none of them mattered to me. The ones I fought beside, the ones who shared the same risks as mine. The chaos around me and the threats of death seemed distant, almost irrelevant. My own life felt insignificant. All I could think about was making sure they mad it through, that they weren't left behind. I didn't even consider the risks of the looming dangers.

All that mattered was them.

CHAPTER -3 ~`KISS OF DEATH`~

I didn't sleep. Not at night. My team and I was always at work. Planning, strategizing, analyzing routes and making sure that our weapons were always at the ready. Around seven in the evening, we started gearing up. We were loading guns, checking ammunitions and making sure that our vehicles were set.

We stood apart from the rest, easily distinguishable from the crowd. We wore black, but that wasn't the only thing that set us apart. Different was our demeanor. Cold, unfeeling and ruthless, we were known for it. I in particular was called the coldest among us but make no mistake we were all relentlessly merciless. To us the world outside didn't matter, all we cared about was our team, our survival.

We moved as one, I gathered my team. Our vehicles were set too. Our cars were sleek and intimidating, black as the night. They shined like polished obsidian under the street lights, not a single scratch on them.

Mine? A matter black Rolls-Royce Phantom. It wasn't just for show. All of our vehicles were bulletproof, fireproof and missile resistant. They were made to survive anything, to keep us safe no matter what the cost. The cars could tear through any terrain, a predator moving through a jungle, swift and unyielding, dodging obstacles with ease. People called them the "KISS OF DEATH" as these cars were anything people could dream of, beautifully dangerous.

The air was thick with tension, a palpable energy that charged our surroundings. We exchanged terse nods, an unspoken understanding binding us together in this moment of anticipation. Each of us knew the stakes, and the potential consequences of failure.

We climbed into our vehicles, engines rumbling to life like a beast awakening from slumber. The sound reverberated in the stillness, a warning to anyone who dared cross our path. As I settled into the plush leather seat of my Phantom, I felt a familiar rush of adrenaline. This was where I belonged, in the eye of the storm, amidst chaos and danger.

The night was ours. We navigated through the labyrinth of streets, my team in tight formation, every turn calculated, every move deliberate. We were a unit, a predator on the hunt. The targets were in sight—individuals who had wronged us, who had underestimated our resolve. We had been patient, biding our time, waiting for the perfect moment to strike.

As we approached the designated location, my heart raced. The moment of reckoning was near. We were not just seeking vengeance; we were delivering a message. The world would remember the night.

As we neared the target’s location, the streets grew quieter, tension hanging thick in the air. Each heartbeat echoed like a drum in my ears. We parked strategically, shadows blending with the night, concealed yet ready to pounce. I glanced at my team, their faces steely and focused, reflecting the same relentless resolve that coursed through me.

The plan was simple yet ruthless. We would strike swiftly, leaving no room for retaliation. The sound of our boots on the pavement was muted, an ominous prelude to the chaos we were about to unleash. The night would belong to us, and our legacy would be etched in fear.
