Feral Bond

Through Time

Emma’s heart pounded as she clutched the ancient artifact, her fingers brushing over its intricate carvings. The museum curator’s voice still echoed in her mind: “This artifact is said to bridge the gap between worlds.” She had laughed it off then, but now... The room began to spin, and the surrounding air crackled with energy. A bright light engulfed her, and before she could scream, the world tilted, and she was falling—falling into nothingness. When she opened her eyes, she was no longer in the museum. The sky above her was darker than night, streaked with unfamiliar stars, and the air felt alive, thick with a strange, humming energy. She stumbled to her feet, her shoes crunching on soil that glowed faintly beneath her.
Emma
Emma
This... this isn’t home. What happened? Am I... in the past? Or is this even Earth?🤔
Before she could gather her thoughts, a deep, guttural growl echoed through the forest. Turning slowly, Emma froze. Emerging from the shadows was a figure unlike anything she had ever seen—a man, but not quite. His towering frame radiated strength, his eyes glowed a fierce amber, and sharp, wolf-like ears twitched atop his head.
Kain
Kain
“You’re not from here.?”
His voice was a low rumble, both threatening and curious. He sniffed the air, stepping closer, his sharp claws gleaming in the dim light.
Kain
Kain
You don’t smell like us. You’re… human.
Emma
Emma
Where am I? Who are you? What is this place?
Her voice quivered, but she tried to stand tall.
Kain
Kain
You’ve crossed into our world. How? I don’t know. But it doesn’t matter. You’re here now, and in this world, you’re mine.
Before Emma could respond, Kain reached out, his clawed fingers brushing her cheek. The sensation sent a jolt of electricity through her, and she jerked back, but his grip was unyielding.
Emma
Emma
Yours? What are you even talking about? Let me go!
Kain
Kain
Foolish girl.
He growled, leaning in close, his breath warm against her ear.
Kain
Kain
In this world, females are precious—especially someone as rare as you. You won’t survive here without me. And I won’t let anyone take you.
Emma’s mind raced. The artifact must have transported her here, to a world that seemed ancient yet otherworldly. But how would she survive in a place where beast-like creatures roamed—and where one now claimed her as his?

The Wolf's Grip

Kain’s grip was firm but not painful as he carried Emma through the forest. His movements were fluid, almost animalistic, as if he knew every inch of the land by instinct alone. The glowing trees blurred together, and Emma struggled to keep track of where they were going.
Emma’s thinking
Emma
Emma
I can’t just let him take me wherever he wants. I need to figure out what this place is and how to get home.
Emma’s fists clenched. She wasn’t going to just give up. As Kain adjusted his hold on her, she spotted an opportunity—a small, jagged branch sticking out from a nearby tree.
Emma
Emma
Let me go!
She shouted, thrashing violently. Kain growled low in his throat.
Kain
Kain
Stop struggling, little one. You’ll hurt yourself.
But Emma twisted, her hand shooting out to grab the branch. With all her strength, she swung it toward Kain’s face. It wasn’t much of a weapon, but it was enough to make him flinch and loosen his grip.
Emma
Emma
Sorry, but I’m not sticking around to find out what ‘yours’ means!😖
She slipped from his arms and hit the ground running. Her legs ached, her lungs burned, but adrenaline pushed her forward. The glowing forest seemed to stretch endlessly in every direction, and she had no idea where she was going. Behind her, Kain’s voice boomed, filled with a mix of anger and surprise.
Kain
Kain
You can’t outrun me, little one!😠
His shout sent a shiver down her spine, but she didn’t dare look back. She could hear him chasing her, his footsteps eerily quiet despite his size. Emma’s muttering
Emma
Emma
Get it together, Emma…
The moment her name left her lips, she froze. Too late.
Kain
Kain
Emma… So that's your name it suits you. 😏
Kain
Kain
You can’t hide from me, Emma.
His voice was calm, almost amused, but it sent a chill down her spine. He was close—too close. Emma (thinking)
Emma
Emma
How does he know my name?
Her mind raced, piecing it together in horror. She had muttered it to herself earlier. He must have heard. The underbrush parted, and there he stood, his towering frame bathed in the faint glow of the forest. His amber eyes burned with a mix of irritation and amusement.
Kain
Kain
You’re brave, I’ll give you that. But running from me was foolish.
Emma scrambled to her feet, backing away as he stepped closer. His movements were unhurried, his confidence unnerving.
Emma
Emma
Why won’t you just leave me alone? I don’t belong here!😠
Kain
Kain
No, you don’t. But you’re here now. And this world isn’t kind to those who wander alone.
Emma glared at him, her fists clenched at her sides. She refused to believe she needed his help.
Emma
Emma
I didn’t ask for your protection.
Kain
Kain
You didn’t have to. This world is dangerous, Emma. You have no idea what’s out there.
Kain
Kain
Come back with me. I promise, I won’t let anything hurt you.
For a moment, Emma considered running again, but as her eyes met his, she saw something unexpected—vulnerability. Beneath the alpha’s fierce exterior, there was a strange, almost desperate need to protect her.

Pushing Boundaries

Emma’s breathing was shallow as she backed away from Kain, her heart pounding. He stood there, tall and commanding, his amber eyes glowing faintly in the dim forest light. She didn’t trust him—not his calm tone, not his promises, and certainly not the way he looked at her, like she was something precious he had to keep.
Emma
Emma
I can’t let him control me. If I go with him now, I’ll never have a chance to figure this world out on my own.
She straightened, squaring her shoulders.
Emma
Emma
What if I don’t want to go with you?
Kain’s expression flickered—surprise, irritation, and then something darker. He took a deliberate step forward, his towering frame making her feel small in comparison.
Kain
Kain
You don’t have a choice, Emma. I’m offering you safety. In this world, that’s not something you can refuse lightly.
His voice was calm, but there was an edge to it, a warning that made the air between them tense. Emma clenched her fists, refusing to back down.
Emma
Emma
Maybe I don’t want your version of safety. Did you ever think about that? You can’t just decide what’s best for me.
Kain’s eyes narrowed, and for a moment, the feral side of him seemed to surface. His claws flexed, and his jaw tightened.
Kain
Kain
You think you’ll survive out here alone?
The corner of Kain’s mouth twitched, and he let out a low growl—not loud, but enough to make the hairs on the back of Emma’s neck stand up.
Emma
Emma
Maybe I will.
Emma didn’t move, her heart racing as she held his gaze. She knew she was pushing her luck, but she couldn’t stop herself. Something about his possessive demeanor lit a fire inside her—a mix of fear, defiance, and something she couldn’t quite name.
Emma
Emma
Maybe you’re not as powerful as you think. If you were, you wouldn’t need to drag me along against my will.
Kain
Kain
You think I need to prove myself to you?
Before Emma could respond, Kain moved. In a blur of motion, he closed the distance between them, caging her against the trunk of a glowing tree. His hands rested on either side of her head, and his piercing gaze locked onto hers.

Kain
You don’t understand how dangerous this world is, Emma. You don’t know what’s hunting out there—what would tear you apart if it found you alone.
His voice was low, almost a whisper, but it carried a weight that made her chest tighten. For a moment, she saw something behind his anger—a flicker of desperation, as if the thought of losing her was unbearable.
Emma

Maybe I don’t want to be protected. Did you think of that?
Kain
Kain
Then you’re a fool. But you’re my fool now, and I don’t let what’s mine get hurt.
Emma’s defiance faltered as his words sank in. There was no malice in them, no threat—just a fierce, unrelenting determination. She hated how it made her feel, how it chipped away at her resolve.
Emma
Emma
What if I keep running?
Kain
Kain
Then I’ll keep finding you.
His hand brushed her cheek, his claws retracted now, his touch surprisingly gentle.
Kain
Kain
But you won’t get far, Emma. You know that.
With a sharp inhale, she ducked under his arm and bolted again, her feet pounding against the forest floor. She didn’t care if it was futile—she needed to show him she wasn’t someone to be owned.
Kain’s perspective): Kain watched her go, his expression unreadable. She was testing his patience, yes, but there was something about her fire that stirred something deep within him.
Kain
Kain
She’ll learn. One way or another, she’ll see that she’s safest with me.
With a low growl, he started after her again, his movements swift and silent. He could have caught her immediately, but something made him hesitate. Perhaps he wanted to see how far she’d go, how long she’d fight before she realized there was no escaping him.
