I woke up with a start, my heart pounding in my chest. My breath came in quick gasps as the remnants of the nightmare still clung to my mind like a shadow that I couldn’t shake off. In a dream, I had been lost, surrounded by thick, dark woods, with voices calling my name in the distance but never reaching .The trees whispered secrets that I couldn't understand, and every step i take only seemed to pull me deeper into the darkness.
When I finally managed to open my eyes, the bright sunlight streaming through the window directly focus on me. Than I lay there for a long moment, staring at the ceiling, and my body frozen on the bed. It was just a dream, I said to myself , but the feeling of anxiety lingered, suffocating the thoughts.
The morning passed in a blur. I just wanted to get out of bed, to face the day, but every time l tried, the image of the forest crept back into my mind. I don't want to leave the comfort of my blankets, the only place where I can felt safe. The idea of facing customers at a shop, talking, or even going outside seemed impossible.
I sat on the edge of my bed, hugging my knees to the chest. The world outside seemed too bright, too loud. I just wanted peace, but it felt as though the storm inside my mind wouldn’t let me have it. However, I say to myself, it's impossible to stay at room and letting the bad dreams lingered again and again. Then I get up, drink hot water and carry my side bag, than I walked to the shop at a city Thimphu town. I arrived after an hour refreshing my mind from the lingering dreams.
As I followed my usual routine—cleaning, mopping, and arranging the dresses—hoping for customers to come through the door. But, as always, no one arrived, and the day ended with zero profits. At 7 pm, I locked up the shop, feeling defeated. I walked to the bus stop, and after just a minute, the bus arrived. With a quiet sigh, I boarded and made my way home, uncertain of what tomorrow would bring.
After arriving home, I washed my feet and took a long, refreshing shower to wash away the exhaustion of the day. Once I was clean, I sat down to a comforting dinner, lovingly cooked by aunt. The warmth of the meal and the familiar presence of my cousins brought a sense of calm, offering a brief respite from the struggles of the day. For a moment, I felt a quiet peace, surrounded by the simple comforts of home. Then I connected to Wi-Fi network and I enjoyed the mobile legend Bang Bang game for two hours. Finally, I charged my phone and I made a bed for my two cousin then I comment them to sleep, so they can wake up early and can go to school at time.
end of the day.......
I'm so lazy to wake up in the morning. I closed one eye and opened my phone to check the time. OMG, it's 8 AM! I hugged my pillow and stayed there for 5 more minutes. After that, I folded the blanket, washed my face, brushed my teeth, and drank a cup of water. Then my aunt called my name; "Rinchen Bidha, breakfast is ready. You can eat it." I nodded and smiled at my aunt. Tension arose while I was eating; I opened my account and found out I had only forty Nu, which was only enough to pay for a taxi once.
Then I came up with a plan; why not walk to the shop and save the money for a taxi for later? I smiled to myself and said, "You are genuine, Rinchen." After that, I changed my clothes, put on my shoes, and walked to the shop. While taking a walk, I felt the fresh air and heard the sound of a bird, which made my day better. However, since it was my first day taking a walk, I felt a little bit uncomfortable. To avoid people seeing me, I acted like I was scrolling through my phone or chatting, or pretended to receive a phone call from my friend. I felt like a fool talking to ghosts. Finally, I reached the shop, cleaned the floors, and opened my book, "IKIGAI," to read.
While reading a book, I learned a new word that inspired me not to give up on my goals. Finally, a customer came in just to browse and left with a 'thank you.' I smiled, but as I sat down in my chair, I felt a wave of sadness wash over me as held onto hope for the next customer. Time passed, and I ate an orange while drawing a picture to kill the boredom. I called my friend Pema to chat with me, and she arrived like the wind. We chatted for a couple of hours and had some coffee. When it was time to close the shop, we went to the clock tower and took a selfie. Then, I got into a taxi, bidding farewell to my dearest friend.
I arrived home and washed my feet, and then two kids rushed towards me, saying they needed help with their math problems. I smiled and said, 'Okay, let me see the questions first,' and helped them complete their school assignments. Then I asked if they had already eaten dinner, and they said they had. After that, I ate my dinner, played a mobile game called Mobile Legends for a minute, then I scrolled through TikTok before making the bed for the two little children. After that I made a bed for two of them and let them sleep. I stay for a couple of hours chatting with my school friend Sonam and sending reel with each other which are related to both of us and then I fell asleep without charging phone.
