prologue
The rain lashed against the glass, drowning the silence in Mehreen’s prison. A golden cage disguised as luxury. A penthouse high above the city, far from the world she once belonged to.
She traced her fingers along the cold windowpane, her reflection barely visible in the dim lighting. Behind her, the presence of him was unmistakable.
While the devil himself stood in the shadows, watching, always watching. Like a beast waiting for his prey

"You are quite tonight"
His voice was deep, controlled - too controlled
Mehreen didn't answer.
She had stopped answering long ago
A moment passed. Then another. And then, she felt it—the suffocating warmth of his presence as he moved closer. His fingers ghosted over her wrist, his touch possessive, unyielding.

"Do you know what I hate the most, Mehreen?"
he murmured against her ear, his voice soft yet dripping with quiet menace.
"Silence."

She turned to face him, her eyes void of any emotion.
"Then let me go."
A slow smirk tugged at his lips, but there was no amusement in his gaze — only hunger. Hunger for control.

"You’re never leaving me, love."
Mehreen khurana (fl)
"This is not love, Reeyan-"
But before she could finish, his grip tightened around her wrist, his touch firm, demanding.

"Don’t say it."
His voice was a whisper, but it cut through the air like a blade.
Mehreen’s breath hitched. He was close — too close. The storm outside raged, but the one inside this room was far more dangerous.

"Not love?"
Reeyan repeated, his dark eyes studying her face, searching for something—doubt, fear, submission.
"Then tell me, Mehreen… why does your heart still race when I touch you?"
She clenched her jaw. He was manipulating her, twisting reality into something unrecognizable. But she wouldn’t give in. Not tonight.

"Let me go." The words barely left her lips before she felt him pull her against his chest.
Reeyan Singhania (ml)
"Never."
And just like that, the cage slammed shut once again.
But did he hear her out? Will he ever?
INDIA
The dimly lit basement smelled of metal, blood, and silence.
Reeyan stood in the center, rolling his sleeves down, his fingers stained with the remnants of his latest "lesson." A battered man knelt before him, trembling, barely conscious.

"Pathetic" *scoffs*
The sharp clang of his watch snapping into place echoed in the room.
The basement door creaked open.

(Nodded like a child ) "Your presence is required."

(Exhaled slowly, glancing down at the mess at his feet.)
"Clean this up," he ordered, his voice cold.
Then, without a second glance, he walked out.
The phone vibrated on the mahogany desk, its buzzing the only sound in the dimly lit basement. Reeyan sat back in his chair, fingers lazily twirling the crystal glass filled with whiskey. His sharp eyes flickered to the caller ID.
Reeyan Singhania (ml)
"Maa."
A humorless smirk played on his lips before he answered.
Meera Singhania(ml mother)
"Reeyan… beta." Her voice was trembling, as if she had been crying.
Reeyan Singhania (ml)
(He didn’t respond. He simply took a sip of his drink, waiting.)
Meera Singhania(ml mother)
"I know you don’t want to hear my voice, but… please, just this once, listen."
A long pause ~
her voice creaked " Please, come back , please"
Reeyan Singhania (ml)
His fingers tightened around the glass. "Why?"
Meera Singhania(ml mother)
She whispered, desperate. "Ek baar toh aa jao."
Her voice was low "Bohot badi galti hui thi beta par ase saja mat do."
" Ek baar bas , please beta , tumhe meri kasam hai reeyan "

It was a really big mistake but please don't give us punishment like this

He let out a cold chuckle. "kasam ? That’s funny, Maa. Now you remember giving me kasam and all ?" His voice was void of emotion, but his grip on the glass was anything but relaxed.
Meera Singhania(ml mother)
Please son ( her words were trembling)
His heart should have clenched at those words. Should have. But years of neglect, betrayal, and abandonment had carved a hollow in his chest

"Is that supposed to make me feel something?" His voice was sharp, unforgiving
Meera Singhania(ml mother)
His mother let out a soft sob. "Main tumse zyada kuch nahi maang rahi… sirf ek mulaqat, beta."
(I'm not asking for anything ....... just one meeting)
Beta.
That word felt foreign now.
For a moment, just a fraction of a second, he closed his eyes. Memories tried to crawl back, but he shoved them away.

"I’ll think about it." And then, without waiting for a response, he cut the call.
He tossed the phone onto the desk and leaned back. The ice clinked against the glass as he took another sip, his face unreadable.

"India" mumbled
He had no intention of returning.
But fate? It had other plans.
