Also! I'm not planning on this to sound or look like any professional writing so if it's what you were hoping for 😬 sorry to disappoint! And I'm not very good with words, but I just thought this could be a fun way to share my characters! I don't want to make these "chapters" super long, i got stuff to do too ya'll , so it won't be super consistent, but I'll try to do my best!

19 Years Ago...

💀 "What is it?"

♣️ "A girl ma'am."

💀 "So it's true then? My sister was right about here."

♣️ "I don't understand?"

💀 "In time you shall see my dear Elvina," the woman looks at the baby. "Oh sweet Jade, you have no idea. Take her away."

♣️ "Away? To where?"

💀 "Her father."

Present Time...

BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP- I smack the top of my alarm clock.

☁️🖤 "Ugg it was just another dream. It's always the same thing, about my mom, but it never continues, it always stops there."

👩‍🦰 "JADE GET YOUR A$$ DOWN HERE NOW!"

☁️🖤 "I hate that d@mn woman," I roll my eyes.

🖤 "Coming-"

☁️🖤 "Bi+ch" I walk down stairs to the kitchen where I see the evil red head turd standing. You know, she could be nice but nooo, she has to have an attitude every day with me, just watch.

👩‍🦰 "Jade, how many times have I told you, if you see cloths in the dryer, fold them. I can't do everything around here."

☁️🖤 "Gurl you don't do $hit."

🖤 "Oh yes ma'am," I roll my eyes.

👩‍🦰 "And get rid of that nasty attitude. Who's the adult around here, hmm?"

🖤 "I don't know where could she be, oh wait is it you? Because I'm pretty sure I'm 19 too, so technically I'm also an adult."

👩‍🦰 "How dare you talk to me that way. I am your mot-" I cut her off.

🖤 "Just stop there." I walk back upstairs.

👩‍🦰 "And just where are you going missy?" She shouts at me as I walk upstairs.

🖤 "To my room," I yell back as I continue to walk.

☁️🖤 "I'm so tired of her. Maybe I do have an attitude but I wouldn't have one if she didn't drive me nuts." I get in my room and look in the mirror. I sigh as I see myself standing there. I'm just a girl, who happens to have a psycho mom who I've never met, only had dreams or nightmares about. I fix my long straight dark hair over my shoulder. When I was 8 my father told me my mom gave me this necklace with a black jade, that's what gave me my name. I've never met my mom, and I don't plan on ever meeting her because if my dreams are telling me the truth, she didn't want me in her selfish life, then I don't want her in mine. As for my stepmother, I've planned on leaving this place ever since I turned 17 but I just never had the money to buy the food or afford a place to stay, but that all changes tonight. I open my closet and pick up my pink piggy bank that I've had ever since I was 4. I take out the cash and change, "This should be enough to afford a place to stay for a while." I open the drawers in my room and get a few cloths. I take a deep breath. "Tonight, tonight I'm leaving this place, for good."

☁️🖤 I open my window and look around my room. "Just do it Jade," I tell myself. I look down at the grass and jump out, it wasn't that big of a jump as my room is on the first floor, but still it was a big step. Leaving the only place I've ever known as 'home' hurt, but I knew I would get over it. As I walked down the road, I didn't know where I would end up, but wherever it was it would be better than that toxic house. I found myself stoping at a park and sitting on a bench. It was only 8:00 so I decided to sit and read. I love reading it's one of the few things that kept me happy in that house. A few moments later there was a girl walking by and came over to me. Now don't ask me what she was doing at a park at 8:00 because people are crazy. She saw me reading and came to sit with me. She looked about my age, 19, and had light brown hair that was put in french braids.

😄 "Whatcha reading?" She leaned over and asked.

🖤 "A book," I scooted away from her a bit. Something you should know about me is, I don't like meeting new people or I guess you could say I'm cold shouldered.

😄 "I'm Pepper!"

🖤 "Jade" I say while I continue to read.

😄 "That's a pretty name."

🖤 "Thanks," I look up for a split second and she's just smiling. "Wait did you say your name is Pepper?"

😄 "Yep!"

🖤 "Like salt and pepper? Or a green bell pepper? Or-" She cuts me off.

😄 "Hey I like my name."

🖤 "I didn't say I didn't like it. It's just...interesting."

😄 "Well what are you doing out here this late?"

🖤 "I could ask you the same," I put my book down"

😄 "I like to go for a walk before I go to bed."

☁️🖤 "She's a strange one."

😄 "I answered your question, what about mine?"

🖤 "I just like to come to the park."

😄 "You're running away?"

☁️🖤 "Yep she's definitely weird."

🖤 "Phhtt no."

😄 "Then whats in that bag? Come on just admit it."

🖤 "Fine yes I'm running away'"

😄 "I'm so smart. You must not have a place to stay...you can stay with me!"

☁️🖤 "A free place to stay, but I'm staying with a crazy. Welp I lived with that mad woman for 19 years so I think I can take this."

🖤 "Alright."

😄 "Oh my gosh yay, we can be roomies!"

☁️🖤 "What the he11 am I getting myself into?"

😄 "Let's go!"
