Mickey Marygolld is the average teenager with no friends, weird behavior, social awkwardness, and nasty body stuff, but little did he know he was about to have one hell of a life changing event. It all started on August 14th when Mickey's mom woke him up at 8:00 during summer vacation

"Get up honey I have some big news" she said.

"Mom it's like 3 in the morning let me go back to bed"

"It's actually 8 and I have something important to tell you"

"What?" He said with an aggressive tone.

"I got offered a great job In this small town and I'm going to take it" she said.

"We're moving ?"

"Yes dear"

"Ugh!"

It took Mickey and his mom a week to pack and four days to move but as the road trip lagged on he began to realize this town is smaller and farther away than he thought.

"Mom, where the hell are we ?"

"Watch the language and nowhere we're just on the road"

"Nowhere is right" Mickey said under his breath hoping his mother wouldn't hear.

Their trip continued as they finally reached their second to last stop, a hotel not far from town, It looked like the average hotel/motel you see on road trip movies but this particular hotel was something more than average. The man at the front desk had long white hair, a crusty beard, and one useful eye. They checked in but not before hearing complaints from the man at the front desk who goes by Rusty.

"I hope you're just some passerby's and not stupid enough to be moving into town"

Mickey glanced at his mom as she was glancing too.

"Thank you" she said as she quickly moved her bags down the hallway.

"What a weirdo that guy is"

"He's not weird just probably senile or something honey"

"Yeah probably so"

They settled into their room quickly and Mickey decided to get a soda from the vending machine by the front desk, as he approached he saw all the lights but the lamp and vending machine display were off and he heard some static coming from the room behind the desk. Mickey quickly put his change into the machine and got his soda but then he turned around to see Rusty sneaking up on him.

"Don't let them get you to boy"

"Ok" Mickey said as turned and started to run down the hallway.

He busted through the door quickly to tell his mom what happened only to see her fast asleep, he took a sip of his soda and decided to follow his mother's footsteps and went to sleep. The next morning things went very smooth, with no sign of Rusty they quickly left and headed to their new home.

The town grew near as Mickey and his mother continued on their journey.

"That sign back there said it's just 25 miles" she said trying to lift her son's spirits.

"Yay now I can rejoice" he said with a sarcastic tone.

"Don't be a downer, this is really gonna be a great new start for us" she said.

"If you say so mom" he said with a sigh.

After what seemed like an eternity they finally reached the welcome sign that read "Welcome to Yami Town".

"Who names a town Yami ?" Mickey said.

"I read online it's Japanese for darkness and given the looks of it it's very fitting" she said.

It took no longer than 10 minutes to reach their new home and despite his hatred for the moving Mickey was surprised at how great the house looked exceeding all his expectations.

"This is really our house ?" He said.

"Yep, it was surprisingly cheap"

"Maybe it's a murder house haha" Mickey said jokingly.

"Don't even joke like that" his mother said in a serious tone.

After a few weeks of settling in Mickey realized that he only had a month left of summer vacation and hasn't really gotten to know the town yet, so Mickey set out to take in the fresh town. On the outskirts of town where all the locals live there wasn't anything but spread out houses, a little further into town was all the schools the elementary, middle, and high school where Mickey was gonna be attending in just a month. In the center of town was where all the shops and businesses including the jail were located, it didn't take long for Mickey to get to know the town, seeing as how small it is, but the locals were different all the older people, the ones who claimed to be parents, grandparents, uncles and aunts, all worked in town but it seemed none of the teens were working and this left Mickey wondering if there even were any. As the day progressed Mickey met all the people who worked in the town's center all he had left were the teachers and other teens, he traveled then walked around the outskirts of the town but everything was pretty quite so he just decided to head back home. The last month of vacation came and went quickly but boringly and Mickey was ready to meet someone, no anyone, his age.

The first day of school was a bust none of the teachers seemed to pay attention to Mickey except to take attendance and none of the students even bothered to ask who was the strange name being called. By lunch Mickey was ready to go home until a kid came and sat next to him and with no hesitation told Mickey:

"You shouldn't be here"

"Umm hey?" Mickey said

"My name is Bon" he said

"I'm Mick, and Bon is a very interesting name"

"Well my parents were big AC/DC fans so yeah, and Mick is a very interesting choice too" He said.

"It's because my mom loves Mickey Mouse, but she's the only one who calls me Mickey"

"Seems like both of our parents set out to mess up our social lives" Bon said.

"Yeah I guess they did haha"

Mickey and Bon talked until the bell rang and walked to their 5th period class which they just happened to have together. Mickey sat in the back like he always does and Bon sat upfront because he had trouble seeing the board, the class was small but so was the whole school. When class ended Bon waited for Mickey outside the door, they didn't have 6th or 7th period together but they did have the last together. There last period was History and Bon seemed a little nervous but more so excited to be in, when asked about it Bon acted nonchalant to the fact he was just asked a question. By the end of class Mickey couldn't help but notice how Bon was so clearly aggravated, when they got up and left Mickey told Bon to wait up.

"Hey what's up with you ?, you seem so mad at the teacher. Mickey said.

"The whole class was bullshit, the year is started off with local history just to sell the lies they're telling us."

"What the hell are you talking about man ?" He said.

"I can't tell you here so how about we meet up after school at the abandoned church outside of town ?" Bon said.

"Alright sure man, whatever it takes for you to tell me what's going on".

They split up and didn't see each other again, Mickey was unsure about the abandoned Church so he had to ask his mom who seemed to know more about the town then the town did except for Bon. Mickey found out that the abandoned Church was 6 miles East from the welcome sign and so he headed out unaware of what he was about to learn about the place that had become his new home.

As Mickey was approaching the church that looked like it was straight out of a horror movie Bon ran out telling him to hurry up.

"Are you ready to tell me what's up with you ?" Mickey said.

"Yes but prepare yourself because it's a lot to take in"

"Alright, yeah sure" he said.

As Bon laid out the weird history behind the town it became harder and harder for Mickey to believe anything that was being said.

"VAMPIRES?, THE TOWN IS RAN BY CENTURIES OF VAMPIRES?"

"Will you keep it down please" Bon said. "I didn't believe it at first till this summer"

A few months before the summer vacation that brought the fresh faced Mickey to town Bon was the new kid, he had moved there with his mom, big brother and little sister. Bon's family settled in easily but quickly things would turn around, before the move Bon's brother Brian had done days and days of research reluctant to spill the beans Brian finally told Bon what was going on with the town and Bon ,just like Mickey was doing now, was doubtful of every word. After the move Bon and Brian were given a week to settle in and then it off to school but only one of them would make it there, one weekend Brian went out to explore the town and he never came back. Brian was found in the woods all of his skin had been found with teeth and scratch marks all over his body and all the blood in him completely drained. The cops claimed it was a copycat of a serial killer that was last active decades before Brian's death but Bon knew what happened Brian had found something big and was taken out for it. Once Mickey heard the story of Bon's brother Brian he no longer had any doubts, Bon gave Mickey a copy of everything Brian and Bon had found just incase anything happened to him and it was thicker than any textbook in their entire school. Mickey went home with all the research but not before being warned by Bon to not show anyone or even mention it's existence. Mickey went home with the thought nothing would come of this information but found himself wondering all night about it till he gave in and began to read everything from start to finish, when he reached the halfway mark he realized he hadn't slept all night and had an hour before he had to leave to go to school.

Mickey wanted to bring the research to school to finish reading but he knew he couldn't he knew if he was caught he would either get himself or Bon killed or maybe even both. All day at school Mickey was distracted thinking about the research and didn't pay attention until he realized he was on the bus ride home, when Mickey got home he immediately went to his room locked the door and began reading again right where he left off. Mickey spent the whole rest of the day and night reading he finished exactly at 1:30 in the morning, instead of going to bed right away Mickey decided to do his own research. He started off only finding random and weird conspiracies which he began to wonder if they were only there to distract from the dark reality. Not long into the research he began to find crazier and crazier things one of the worst being a story told by a maid who would only tell the story anonymously about a rich family whose name she would not disclose. The maid claimed to witness many feedings the family took on a young girl whose tongue had been ripped out and mouth sewn shut to stop her from screaming or ever talking if she ever escaped, she said they took as much blood from her as they could without killing her and witnessed the youngest boy taking baths in blood. The maid also began to notice things that she overlooked before like how quick the family healed whenever they got hurt and how all the kids practically quit aging once they hit 20 years old, the maid could only take so much and told the family that her health was beginning to decline from a rare blood disease that runs in her family. The family believed the maid and let her go with no harm being done against her, after the interview the maid wouldn't tell the name of the town the family was located in but she described enough little details to connect with the town that he recently learned was hiding one of the biggest but also unbelievable secrets ever. Mickey once again went a whole night without sleeping and Bon could easily tell.

"Yo Mick, are you alright you look sick" he said.

"I umm...found something new that I have to tell you about it's about a maid that worked for this family"

Just as he said that he was called to the front office like they were listening to his every word or something.

When Mickey was called to the front office all that was going through his mind was how much did they hear, and if they even suspected Bon of having anything to do with this whole situation. Mickey came in and sat down in the one of the many chairs in the front office and the lady at the desk just sat there oblivious to his existence, he wondered if he should stand up and say anything but just as he was about to she told him to head to go ahead and go the deans office in the very back and the second door to the right. He walked towards the deans office with full worry and anxiety trying to wipe off the sweat and worry from his face, as he reached to open the door it burst open suddenly and behind it was a man that was the last thing he expected. The dean was average sized man kind of buff wearing a vest over his dress shirt with a well trimmed beard and short but ruffled hair, inside his office it made it clear when his formative years were there were many different types of band and artist memorabilia around. Straight behind his desk was a window and on one side was an Alice In Chains poster and on the other side there was a Marilyn Manson poster and everywhere else was a mix of 90’s Rap and Rock bands or artists, right away Mickey knew this was not the average dean and he was a bit more calm but still very anxious. Once he snapped out of it he realized the dean was waiting to greet himself,

“Hey, you must be Mickey” the dean said.

“Yes, but call me Mick” he said.

“Good to meet you I’m Dean Edwards but you can call me Mr. Edwards”

They walked into the office and Mickey sat down immediately as he could still feel his knees were weak, the dean talked about himself for awhile before telling Mickey that he was not the average dean but that’s ok because he’s there for the kids not the school board then he began to tell Mickey why he was called there to his office.

“Mick I’m just gonna be honest with you here I have no idea what is going on and I have a very uneasy feeling about this whole situation” Mr. Edwards said. “There’s a family in this town that’s been here for a really really long time and they like to meet everyone that’s new hear kinda like a welcome party and they invited you and your family to meet over dinner Friday night”

Mickeys face immediately dropped and the words dinner rang over and over in his head and all he could think is how did they find out about him and what were they gonna do next.
