We all believe and it seems as if Valmeeki wrote the Great Ramayana during the lifetime of Shri Ramachandra
Ramayana was never a written work
But it always had been in existence
Valmeeki wrote this epic years after it happened
And the most famous versions of Ramayana is the "Valmeeki ramayanam" and "Kamban Ramayan"

For those who don't know, Valmeeki and Kamban are poets. They are famous for writing Ramayana.

But the most famous and believed version is the Valmeeki ramayanam
Valmeeki wrote the iconic story which was passed down generation by generation
In Valmeeki's work, Rama was portrayed as a great and unique man
Not as an incarnation of god
True, there are some chapters in which there are references to him as an avatar of god
but in the body of the narrative pictured by sage Valmeeki is not god himself but a great prince, endowed with divine qualities

The start~ part 1
TO the north of River Ganga was the great kingdom of KOSALA, made fertile by the beautiful river SARAYU
Its capital was Ayodhya, now famous for the Ram mandir there.
Ayodhya, the capital city of KOSALA was made by its brave King Manu.
Manu was a famous ruler in the Solar dynasty
Ayodhya was mighty, beautiful and wealthy - making it not any inferior to our modern cities
King Dasaratha ruled the wealthy kingdom from ayodhya
He had fought on the side of devas and dharma.
His fame spread in the three worlds
He was known to be equal to Indra and kubera
The people of KOSALA were happy and contented
Their land was protected by a large and mighty army

Ayodhya means - that which cannot be subdued by war.
Dasaratha had 8 smart, virtuous, and wise ministers.
They were ever ready to advise the king and execute his order
