The night air carried a tense silence nice as the group gathered in their usual spot-a dimly lit, run-down warrehouse on thee outskirtsirts of town. It was a place where secrets thrived and the law didn’t’ reach. The men in this group were no strangers to the art of kidnapping; they had perfected it over the years , targeting the children of the rich and powerful, turning lives into ransom notes. Tonight, the plan was bigger. This time, their target was Danielle Hertz, daughter off Jason Hertz, a man who made his fortune in his jewellery company. Jason Hertz’s wealth was notorious, his reputation one of the power and influence. And his daughter? Freshly returned from the UK, where she had been completing her studies-young, wealthy, and aware of what awaited her.
“She’s the perfect target,” one of the men, David, said , his voice low but excited as he passed rounding a photo of Danielle. In the photo, Danielle was standing beside Jason with her fianceè. The plan was simple: snatch the girl, hide her away, and demand a ransom. Then raid spoke up ,”Are you sure this is going to work? He is stronger and clever than others people whom we have kidnapped their children before”,. “,It’ll work. We will do what we have been doing”’ David snapped. “,Then when are we going to kidnapped her?,” Cyrus asked. “, we will kidnapped her on Monday when she is alone at home”, David replied.
Monday morning arrived with a deceptive calmness. The sun hung lazily in the sky, casting long shadows across the estate as Danielle Hertz moved through her daily routine, unaware of the storm brewing around her. Jason Hertz, dressed in a sharp suit, sat across from his daughter, flipping through morning paper. Danielle toyed with her food, her thoughts elsewhere-likely on the upcoming wedding and the preparations that were consuming her life. When suddenly Jason spoke up”, how was your meeting with Ben family?”,. “,It was good, auntie was really nice and uncle still looked a little bit strict but everything is good”, Danielle said nervously.
Suddenly, Jason snapped his newspaper shut and banged it downward on the table with a loud thud, startling Danielle. His eyes, once calm, now flared with irritation as his voice turned sharp. “ How many times do I have tell you?” He barked. “ Ben’s parents are not your aunt and uncle. They’re going to be your mother-in-law and father-in-law. Start calling them Mother and father!” Danielle flinched slightly, her heart racing as her father continued, his tone harsh and commanding. “You’ve had all those etiquettes classses, haven’t you? act like it! This wedding is more than just about you, Danielle. Our family’s reputation is on the line here. I expect you to behave accordinglyy. Is that understood?”
Without waiting for a response one’s, Jason rose from his seat, still bristlingng with frustration ration. His footsteps especially were heavy as he stormed toward the door and left. Outside, David watched From the shadows, his eyes narrowing as Jason walked to his car, still fuming. The timing was perfect.
Jason Hertz descended the front steps of his mansion, the rhythmic tap of his polished shoes echoing through the crisp morning air. The line of bodyguards snapped to attention as he approached, their faces impassive but vigilant, each one nodding respectfully as their employer passed. Jason’s sharp eyes scanned the perimeter before turning to Roman, his most trusted guard, who stood just a step behind him. “Message the other team”, Jason instructed, his voice calm but commanding. “Make sure the vehicle is ready. I don’t want any delays today”,. Roman gave a curt nod and stepped aside to relay the order, leaving Jason to continue his leisurely walk toward the waiting car. Hidden in the shadows of the garden, David watched the scene unfold. His heart pounded in anticipation as he saw Jason nearing the car, every bodyguard’s attention focusedly solely on their employer. It was the moment he had been waiting for.
With a subtle hand gesture, David signaled to Cyrus and Raid. “,Go”, he whispered into the earpiece. Cyrus and Raid moved swiftly, slipping through the back garden unnoticed. The towering hedges and sprawling foliage provided the perfect cover as they made their way toward the back door. The guards stationed around the estate remained oblivious, their attention locked on Jason’s departure. Raid reached the door first, his gloved hands deftly testing the handle. Unlocked, just as they had anticipated. With a quiet nod to Cyrus, he pushed it open, and the two men slipped inside. The interior of the mansion was stark contrast to the shadows they had just left. The air Was thick with the scent of expensive wood polish and fresh flowers, a testament to the wealth of the Hertz family.
Danielle set alone in the dining room, her unfinished food. She stared blankly at the plate, her father’s harsh words replaying in her mind. Her hands trembled slightly as she clenched the edge of thee tablecloth, the frustration and anxiety bubbling beneath her calm exterior. She was so lost in thought that she almost missed the faint ‘thud’ echoing From the hallway. Her head snapped up, heart pounding. Is he already back? he didn’t went to his work? She wondered, panic setting in. Her gaze darted toward the door, half-expecting her father too storm back in with another round of reprimands. But it wasn’t Jason. Instead, two figures emerged-Cyrus and Raid, their faces obscured by black masks, their eyes cold and focused. Danielle shot to her feet, the chair scraping loudly against the floor. Her pulse quickened as fear took hold.
“Who are you? How did you get in here?” She demanded, her voice trembling but loud, hoping to alert the staff or guards. The masked men said nothing in. They moved with silent precision, their footsteps steady and underlying as they closed the distance between them and their target. Danielle backed away, her heart racing. “Stay away! I’ll” Before she could finish, Raid lunged forward, his movements swift and practiced. He grabbed her by the arm, while Cyrus pulled a handkerchief from his pocket, soaked in chloroform. Danielle struggled, kicking and thrashing, but their grip was unyielding. “No let me go!” She screamed, her voice muffled as Cyrus pressed the cloth against her mouth and nose.
Her vision blurred, the edges of her world growing darker with each passing second. The flight drained from her body as the chlorofoam took effect, her limbs growing weak, her thoughts slipping into unconsciousness. Within moments, Danielle went limp in their arms. Cyrus adjusted his grip, glancing at Raid. “Let’s move”. Without wasting another second, the two men carried her back through the way they came, slipping out of the mansion through the garden’s backs door. The entire operation had been executed flawlessly, without a single arm raised. From his vantage point near the garden, David watched as Cyrus and Raid emerged, he ordered his other men waiting on the vehicle to reach the garden door. The van rumbled down the narrow, unmarked road, the faint hum of the engine punctuated by the occasional bump as it veered off the smooth asphalt.
Inside the vehicle, Danielle laid on the back seat covered her mouth with cloth, her hands were bound tightly, and the ropes dug into her skin. Cyrus sat opposite her, his cold eyes occasionally flicking over to check on her, his expression unreadable. Raid beside him and David sitting on the front with Sam driving the van. “Is the house ready?” David asked without looking at Sam, his eyes fixed on the road head. Cyrus hesitated, shifting uncomfortably in his seat. “Well… it’s complicated.” David’s eyes narrowed. “Complicated?” His tone was cold, demanding an explanation.
Raid, sitting in the back with Cyrus, tried to interject. “The original house we secured—” Cyrus cut him off.”—was destroyed by the cyclone last night.” For a moment, there was complete silence. Then, David’s fist slammed against the dashboard, making everyone flinch. He turned sharply to the backseat, his voice rising in fury. “If the house is not ready, how are we supposed to complete the mission? Take her with us in the van everywhere we go, or take her to each others house and introduce to our family, “see, who we have here, our victim with us, just gonna stay here for few days but we will return her back”, Do you want to end up in prison for the rest of your life, dammit?” His voice echoed in the confined space of the van.
Raid sighed and added reluctantly, “we tired to arrange another place, but the owner refused at the last set minute. He won’t cooperate”. David’s face twisted with rage. “Bastards! Can’t even do their job properly?” He gestured sharply toward the driver. “Sam, pull over. Now!”. The van screeched to a halt on the side of thee desolate road. David jumped out, pacing furiously on the gravel, his breath visible in the chilly morning air. “If you can’t handle the job, then don’t take responsibility for it!” David shouted, his voice carrying into the forest. “If we get caught because of you guys, I won’t lift a finger to help any of you. Did you hear me? Not a damn thing!”.
Raid and Cyrus exchanged uneasy glances, unsure of how to respond. Inside the van, Sam remained calm, watching David from the driver’s seat. After a moment, he rolled down the window and called out. “David, come inside. I have a plan. It’s not perfect, but we can make it work.” David stopped pacing, his hands clenched into fists. He took a deep breath, then walked back to the van, slamming the door as he got inside. “What’s the plan?”. Sam adjusted his grip on thee steering wheel. “My late friend’s son lives in a mountain village— one of those remote places where peopl rarely visit. It’s isolated, and no one will think to look for her there.”
Sam continues “ but the problem is he hates crowded area, so we’d have to leave her there with him alone.” David raised an eyebrow. “You’re suggesting we leave Danielle with some recluse? What’s the name off this place?what if he try to do something funny?”. Sam paused, thinking.” I trust him, and the place named was Berry? No, wait… Bear? No— Blue. Ah, Blue Hill.” David sat back, considering the idea. “Blue Hill, it is my first time hearing it. It’s risky, but it could work.” As the van drove, the distant silhouette of the mountains loomed ahead— a new destination taking almost 7 hours.
