"A criminal that the government had been searching for for a while was caught 2 days ago. He has done many unforgivable acts, including raping young women and girls, murder and burglary. He has committed suicide this morning in jail while awaiting his punishment. Police days that he must've been terrified of his punishment. He doesn't deserve such a peaceful ending, but what's done is done. This is WNN and we are telling you the latest news."
The woman who said this was on TV.
"What kind of f*cking bullsh*t is this?" a young woman says to herself. She has her brown sugar colored hair tied into a high ponytail, and is eating some yogurt. She is looking at the TV with her amber eyes, her face simply disgusted.
"Why am I watching this sh*t? Why am I even part of this damn society?"
She then makes a phone call.
"Hey, have you seen the news?" she asks, sounding pissed off, in fact, she IS pissed off.
"Well, good morning, Reyna. Yes, I did see that. I can't believe people fall for these lies. I mean, everyday a criminal 'commits suicide', how do people still believe it?" she hears the man she called say with a husky voice.
"I don't know. It's been ages, but they just won't wake up, damn it. I wanna burn everybody alive," she answers, calming down slightly.
"Anyway, I'm ready. How are things going at your end?" the man changes the subject, his voice sounding more serious.
Her expression also becomes determined.
"Not yet. It'll take a month or two, sorry," she responds, a bit apologetic.
"We've got to get this done asap, but I'd rather it be perfect, so no hurry," he reassures her.
"Anyway, how's it going with your girlfriend?" she smirks.
"..." he remains silent for some time, and then sighs: "It's going pretty well."
Reyna understands his words; nothing special was going on.
The corner of her lips slowly move upward.
They said some more irrelevant things before finally hanging up.
'Well, today's a Sunday, and I still have things to do. Sigh, let's get ready first.'
She goes to the bathroom to take a shower, and then puts some clothes on.
The jet black turtleneck she has was quite a match for her white pleegeds.
Her hair was beautifully done into a low ponytail, and she put her raven-colored Dr. Martens on. It looks amazing altogether, like a piece of art.
She looks at herself on the mirror and, satisfied, takes her bag and leaves.
She's walking in the streets, but not aimlessly, she knows exactly what she wants; a quiet place. A place filled with nature and peace.
She keeps walking until she sees a river. Its water is clear, and it's quite large; just the way she likes it. Unfortunately, many people are there.
Reyna dislikes people a little too much. Her face spells disgust, so she keeps walking besides that river.
After nearly a quarter of an hour, she finally sees no people.
'Ah, this is what I'm talking about. No humans, no demons, no ghosts; just me and nature.'
Then, while sitting down, she notices a piece of black cloth.
I take everything I said back, there's a gross human here. Tch, what a pain.
Why is he so silent?
She goes near him, and realizes it's only a little boy. He's dirty and his clothes are torn up.
'Did he... Pass out?'
"Hey, kid, get up," she says, poking his face.
No response came.
Now that she looks closer, she realizes how thin he is.
'Maybe he passed out from hunger.'
Reyna sighs, but still carries his body bridal style.
After some time, she arrives home.
She wants to put the kid on the bed, but he's just too dirty. She keeps thinking about what to do, until she gives up.
'Looks like the first male body I'm gonna see is that of a little kid. I don't know whether to scream or puke. Sigh, poor me.'
She carries him to the bathroom and undresses him.
When she looks at his body, she looks surprised and sickened.
His body is covered with bruises and burns.
'Who would do this to a child?'
She silently put his thin body in the bathtub and showers him.
When she finishes, she carries him to her bed. She put him in a sitting position.
Unfortunately, Reyna doesn't have clothes for kids, but she does have many plain shirts, which he could use. As for the underwear, who cares about that?
When she finishes, she lays him down and covers him.
Looking closely, he isn't bad looking at all. His black, straight hair looks pretty cute, and his facial features as well.
Her heart aches slightly, but she forgets about it soon enough.
She goes to a chair and sits on it. There are many papers she gets out, and she starts to write. There also is a laptop on the table in which she writes things every now and then.
She keeps writing until she notices something; she forgot to give the little one IV fluids.
She runs out of the room and returns immediately with some needles and IV fluids. It's the only thing she has for him, even though he needs more things, but she'd buy them later.
She put the fluids in him and he flinches slightly.
'Well, at least there's a reaction. That means he's alive.'
She then goes back to work. She keeps writing things until she heard her stomach rumble.
She goes to her kitchen and makes some instant noodles as she has no time to make something else.
She gets them in her room, and writes with one hand while eating a bit with the other.
She keeps writing until midnight, when she remembers she has school tomorrow.
'Oh well, it's not like I can go anywhere with this kid here. Who knows what he'll do once he wakes up. I would rather not see my house burn.'
She keeps writing things until the next morning.
She takes her phone and dials a number.
"Hello, is this X City's university? I'm calling to inform that Reyna, from the medical department, is asking for a leave for a week for sickness. Yes. Thank you very much for the comprehension. Good day."
Well, that's taken care of, but when is this kid gonna wake up?
She looks at the little boy intensively.
'Sigh, what's the point of glaring at him? Let's get back to work.'
She keeps writing for a few hours, and then goes to her bedside table and opens it.
She sees some tubes and elements. She takes them out and puts them on the table.
She starts to make experiments and researches, and keeps making them until the afternoon.
She finally takes a break. She turns her head to look at the child, sleeping so intensely.
She then takes her laptop and starts to write things. She keeps writing until 9 am, she feels the little boy awoke.
She looks at him, and sees terror in his eyes. His face was as pale as a paper, and he was breaking into cold sweat.
When she sees him, she feels her heart ache, but she conceals it well enough.
"Well, you're finally awake. What would you like to eat?" she asked, her face staring at the laptop.
The boy sits silently, his eyes still scared, but a little less than before. Reyna looks at him more closely, and realizes he's actually shaking.
"So, you don't want anything?" she tries to make him speak, but to no avail.
'Sigh, if it's the only way, then we'll have to go with that.'
She gets up from her chair and approaches him, and he instantly covers his head. His trembling only worsened, and he closed his eyes.
She keeps her cool, and says: "What are you so scared about? It's not like I haven't seen your body; just look at what you're wearing."
He then looks at his clothes, and notices they weren't the ones he had on before.
He then looked at her, his eyes full of hatred and disgust.
"You monster," he whispers.
She smirks: "Well, thank you. This monster let you take a bath in her house and let you sleep for days on her bed while she slept on the floor. Also, you're wearing her clothes and have an iv fluid that she gave you to save your life."
He then remains silent, but looks around. He keeps looking and then looks back at her.
"Well, what do you want to eat?" she asks him again, hoping for an answer.
He looks away and says: "Whatever."
She smiles and gets out of the room. She takes out some cooking ingredients and starts to cook.
'His body's still weak, so he shouldn't eat much. She makes him some porridge and puts it on the table.'
She then goes back to her room, and sees the boy still sitting on the bed.
"The food's ready, come," she tells him, and they both walk a few steps to the kitchen.
Her house isn't big, in all fairness, it's actually small, but it's enough for her.
She let the child sit down and stare at the food. It's not like there's something wrong with it, but he still feels weird.
"Eat up," Reyna says, as she put a spoon of yogurt in her mouth.
When he sees her like that, he calms down a bit, and sits down.
He starts to eats, and some time later, hears Reyna ask: "So, what's your name, kiddo?"
He looks at her for quite some time.
