For me all you need is to have a job and earn money.
When you earn money that's how your life can be stable.
"Hey young lady! We're not done to you!" I heard the cops said from behind me. I just kept on running and trying to escape them again.
The rain started to drop hardly so I tightened my raincoat as I look for some dark place until I saw somewhere and I headed towards there.
But before I could step there. I saw a boy sitting behind the trash can. He was wearing a raincoat too he must be on the same age as me.
I was about to sit in front of him until I saw what he's doing.
He was petting the cat's hair I can't clearly see but I know that cat was dead. The cat have a big wound on its leg.
I looked at what is he gonna do. My eyes just widened when I saw that cat stood up like nothing happened.
"What did you do?" I asked that boy. He almost jumped out of surprise and he frowned me.
"You take the cat back to life...How could that be possible?" I asked him but he just carried that cat and I suddenly feel nervous.
"Don't tell anyone. "He said and stooded up.
My mind just got confused. Everyone knows that only vampires can do this thing... If I tell the police about this boy or the scientists they will pay me.

“Hmmm, how many? It can be a million. They’ve been looking for a vampire with this kind of ability for a long time-

“Don’t do what you’re thinking.

I’m just the same as you. I know you just ran away...did you? “He asked me and I nodded.
Angel Bass

“But now I only think about money I didn’t eat for three days since I run away. I can’t even find a job because I haven’t even graduated yet...and I’m just 14.

“You can say that. Because you probably have money.

“You know what...I’m hungry and I don’t know whether I’m still alive after that week you’ve been talking about.
“She explained and hold back her tears.

Wait a minute. This wasn’t my order. I ordered for pancakes not bacons! “The customer said.”
Someone raised their hand and said “We ordered for pancakes.” So I walked towards them.
“Waiter please!” Some customer called me again.

When will I be able to rest.
Rafael...hmmm..just chocolate mousse latte for me. “The girl said while she looked on my name plate.

“Ok, how about you ma’am?”
I asked the other one. “Some milkshake please.” She answered so I wrote down what they ordered. I was about to walk away. But the girl held my arms.
“Call me if you’re free...by the way you’re so hot.” A knot formed on my forehead while she give me a little piece of paper. She was calling me hot but I’m a cold blooded. Vampires are cold blooded.
I just nodded and walk towards the employee room.

“Angel, here’s the new order.”
I gave her the paper and she took it without any words, and make those orders.

It’s been a week, when we started doing this. We actually lived in but we didn’t talked to each other. Sighs.

This was just a routine now, it’s tiring but I need to do this.
After a few hours it’s already night. This was I’ve been waiting for since earlier. I started wiping the tables since we’re closed.
I was thinking too deep. What will happen if I get back home? Will my parents still forced me for the experiment. Sighs.
Suddenly I saw a cop walking in front of the cafe. I hide under the table. The cops opened the door. They entered the cafe and talked to my boss. I looked at him.
“Have you seen this boy passed by?” I heard the cops asked him. I shake my head while I looked at him.
“No, I haven’t.” My boss told them. And I took a deep breath.
“Why, what did he done why are you finding him?” My boss asked the cops.
“He was a missing kid. He came from a rich family. Who ever saw him and gave him back will probably get paid. “Maybe a million. The cops said.
“R-Really, He was that rich?” My boss asked the cops again. And he was looking at me.

My parents are really doing everything just to find me. I will never go home.
“Yeah. If you saw him. Give him back quickly. “The cops said again. Then they left. I stood up.
“You didn’t tell me you just runaway. You know you should go home now.” My boss said and he held my arms tightly.
But i took it away from him.
“Why people loves money.”
“They’ll do anything just for the sake of money.

I’m not going home.
You’ll just get tired if you work here. It’s better for you to go home” My boss said it to me.

“You’re just telling me that so you can have the money.”
“I’m just concerned for you.”

No, you’re not. People just want money. You all really don’t care about me. You will do everything for the money you didn’t even think of what I feel. You’re just thinking my advantages isn’t it? I told him.
I took my apron off and that’s when Angel came out and I grabbed her arm.

“We won’t go home no matter what.” I told my boss and we both just go to the apartment.

I woke up without Angel. She was nowhere to be seen in the room. But I don’t care anyway. Since it’s my day off. I just decided to go outside.

I go towards the park wearing my jacket and cap. Since my skin was to sensitive to sunlight.
Until...I saw Angel on the bus stop in front of the park.

I walked towards her and I sat beside her. She was wearing a red ribbon on high bun.

“Okay fine.” I said and we both stayed silent.

Another few weeks past. And I always go to the bus stop in front the park with Angel every weekend. It’s just like the only time for the whole week that we will both talked to each other.

I took a deep breath while I was walking towards the bus stop. But then someone just called me from the narrow street. The place between the two buildings. It was dark there.

“You’re a vampire too, right?” Eat with me.” The man said while he drank the blood of the defenseless girl body. It was a young girl probably she was 7 years old...
“Why are you afraid, never drank a human blood before?” He ask me. His face looked so different. I can’t see him as a person.
He looks like a monster. His eyes were red and he have fangs, his nails was long.

I panicked while stepping backwards. And it even got me more nervous...when that man walked towards me.
“Come on, taste it. I know you’ll regret if you didn’t.” He told me while licking his hands full of blood.

I shook my head. But i can’t stop looking at the blood. My mind tells me to taste it. But...I don’t want to be like this man.
“Just have a taste, trust me.” He said again and moved his hands closer to me. Until.
Angel Bass
I called Rafael everywhere on the park. “What took him so long? Aren’t he gonna go here?” Maybe he go somewhere else.”
Angel Bass
“Rafael?” I called him again. And I saw him running towards me.
Angel Bass
“Rafael...What took you so long?” I ask him but he looked so dumbfounded. He looks like he didn’t heard what I’m saying.
Angel Bass
“Rafael, are you okay?” I asked him again. He shot a look at me, it was different. And it is creeping me out.

His eyes was different than it used to be. It was slightly red just like his lips and a pale skin.

I stepped backwards, when he just leaned closer to me. He didn’t say anything.

“W-What are you doing?” I look directly on his eyes. But then...he just pinned me against the wall. His grip was so tight. What is he doing?

“Get away from me Rafael.” I told him calmly. My heart raised fast. I just feel so afraid until he lean closer to my neck.

“Rafael?!? What’s the matter! Get away from me!” I yelled at him and I’m trying to take his arms away from me. But it is still pinning both of my arms against the wall. He’s strong.

I hold back my tears, still trying to take him away from me...until i saw some cops came. I didn’t hesitate to call them.

“COPS, PLEASE HELP!” I yelled still trying to get Rafael away. Before the cops run towards us. Rafael loosen his grip and he step away from me. Just like he woke up from the reality. I quickly check my ears and neck flow down to my cheeks.

I can’t believe he was about to do that to me...I hate him.

Rafael told me his sorry about what he did. He is about to step closer again to me. But gestured him to stop.

“Don’t come near me!”
Rafael Park
“I don’t know what I’m doing...I’m sorry.”
But the cops came. Their eyes widened to see Rafael’s face.
“You’re Rafael Park? You’re the missing kid. And now your doing that kind of thing!?
“Kid are you okay?” The cops Angel but he didn’t remove her eyes to Rafael.

I glared at him. He told me that he don’t do that thing. That was the thing I’m afraid when we were with each other. I thought he will do his promise but he didn’t.

He intended to do it.
“Do you know that the girl can put you to jail for what you’ve done? You just harassed her.”
“You’re going with us now, whether you like it or now.” The cops said. They took some handcuffs. But then Rafael ran away. So the cops chased him.

“That’s when u realize...Should I help him?”

I think of it. But then I ended up chasing those cops too. I run faster and I saw the two cops tying Rafael’s both wrist by handcuffs while he was already on the ground.

Before they locked it. I pushed the cops away and I tried to remove the handcuffs. But the cops pushed me. My back hit the fence so hard that caused me to groan.

Rafael yelled when he saw me groaning in pain. Then he glared at the cop who pushed me.
“Aaa!” He groaned. His neck turned red then into violet. Just like the blood has been stock in there.

His parents came. They both hugged Rafael. But the expression on Rafael’s face wasn’t good. A knot was formed on his forehead. He’s not happy to see his parents.

Both of his parents loosened up the hug. Everyone on the room looked at Rafael.

Rafael told them. Then his dad slapped him hardly on his cheek. I looked on the other direction...maybe I shouldn’t watch this.

That day...they came at the apartment and took Rafael’s stuff. Rafael didn’t say anything while packing his bags. He didn’t even looked at me.

So I decided to open a conversation with him...this was my fault. If I didn’t call the cops this wouldn’t happen...but really. I’m so scared earlier.

“Rafael.” I called him. And he quickly looked at me.

“I’m sorry about earlier, I didn’t did my promise.”

He told me. And I smiled.

“Someday...we will see each other again. Can we?” I ask him. And he smiled back to me. I offered him my hand and he receive it. We both do pinky-promise.

“I believe in that too.” I told him.
