Love Me!

Chapter 1

"Is killing really that fun?" I asked myself while looking at the newspaper, the headline reading, 'Parents murdered by their 17 year old daughter'. It's kind of messed up, I can only imagine how bad her parents must be for her to do that or maybe she was just a psychopath.

But that doesn't concern me. What concerns me more is the case I am solving. I am a detective, not a famous one. I can't solve cases like the 'The dancing men' like Sherlock Holmes even though he is a fictional character.

It's kind of embarrassing to see a fictional detective better than yourself. Well, the case I am currently solving is about a boy who went missing out of nowhere, Jonghan. He is a 17 year old boy who was very lively and happy all the time, or at least that's what his parents and friends say. But, nobody knows themselves better than anyone else, even for parents or very close friends.

He lived in a small neighborhood, the population over there was not too much nor too less. It was the perfect town. He was last seen leaving his house at midnight, already suspicious because what could he possibly have to do at 12 at night?

A lot of people were making rumours that he ran away, or that he went to a party and something might have happened there. I don't believe in stuff until I see or experience them myself, if you tell me that I can sleep for 2 whole days I will test it myself first before bluntly believing the fact.

I should introduce myself as well, as I already said that I am a detective. Believe it or not I am not famous. My name is Min-ho. I love solving cases since I grew up watching Sherlock Holmes, I love horror, and murder mystery. It's always is intriguing to see many different types of ways people kill or kidnap, it's always different which is interesting.

As a good detective, I should most probably start investigating and ask questions to victims parents. It has been 1 week since Jonghan disappeared without any trace. Which is very weird, yes, most of the time the victim is always found with a relative so it's important that I gather enough information about his personality, family.

On 14th April, I decided to go to Jonghan's house. He lived in Daegu which is pretty far away from Seoul but I can't do anything about that now can I. So in the morning I woke up early, or at least tried to wake up early. I took a shower, brushed my teeth and ate breakfast then packed some stuff for my venture.

I took the train traveling to Daegu from Seoul, it was a trip of 1 hour and 40 minutes. It was rather boring to just wait, so I thought of reading book on the train. Obviously books of Sherlock Holmes. Just after half hour throughout the journey, another guy came up and sat in the empty seat besides me. I didn't mind it of course. I loved interacting with people, can you tell that I am an extrovert?

I couldn't help but take small glances at him, he had dark black hair and brown eyes. Good fashion sense too. I might sound like a crazy person but he was handsome, so handsome I wanted to ask him for his number but I don't have the courage to do so. I tried to focus on my book again. It was kind of hard for me to focus since he kept glancing over at me too. I got nervous, I mean I was reading Sherlock Holmes. He definitely thinks I am weird.

Chapter 2

1 hour had passed now, I was still reading my book and trying to ignore the person sitting next to me. Although he didn't ignore me once, he kept looking into my book. I guess he liked Sherlock Holmes too?

I was lucky enough that I had gotten the seat with the window. The view was pretty nice and calming, it was pretty enough for me to close my book and look out the window looking at the pure beauty of nature.

After a while, I noticed the man next to me was looking out the window too. I decided to make the first move and talk to him. "Hello" I smiled trying not to look like a creepy person. Hopefully that did do the trick, I waited for him to respond. He looked at me and smiled back at me. "Hello" he said in a deep yet soothing voice.

His voice was definitely something. It caught me off guard, I mean he looked good, had a good voice. People like him make me feel like God had favorites. He definitely did. I then looked out the window and looked back at him "the weather seems nice today doesn't it?" In response he just nodded. Not much of a talker huh.

I looked out the window, he didn't say anything on the remaining journey. After a while, we finally reached Daegu station. It wasn't crowded, I stood up to get my stuff. I looked at the person who was sitting next to me and asked him "This is your station too?" I knew he would probably just respond back by nodding but I was wrong, he also stood up, got his stuff and said to me, "Yeah, this is my stop too". His voice was actually so calming that I could've just asked him to keep on talking and I would never get bored.

"Alright"

I didn't know what to say anymore so I just brushed it off. I grabbed my bag and put it on my back and started to walk out. I got off the train and looked around, I was informed that a friend of Jonghan would pick me up at the station so I looked around waiting for him. Just then I saw a young boy, looked like the age of 18 so I walked up to him thinking he might be the friend.

After I reached him, I said "Are you perhaps Ibeom?" Ibeom was Jonghan's friend. He looked at me up and down carefully and said, "Yes, are you Min-ho?" I nodded. "Yes, That is me. I believe you are here to pick me up?" I asked knowing the answer was gonna be yes but I had to make sure.

"Yes, it's nice to meet you" He smiled and said to me. I smiled back and said "It's nice to meet you too". "First we will go to Jonghan's house...." He said in a sad manner. Of course he would be sad.

I mean I would have been sad too if my bet friend had gone missing. I nodded to his statement and let him lead the way. He walked me towards a car, it was a nice car. He was 18 so he was technically allowed to drive so I didn't ask him anything about it.

We both sat in the car, he sat on the driver seat and I asked him "Should I sit in the front or go to the back". I didn't know which seat would be most appropriate for a time like this.

"You can sit in the front." He responded. I sat in the passenger seat and looked at Ibeom. "So, how long have you been friends with Jonghan?" I asked him trying to make small talk while also gathering information about him. "We met around elementary school, he has been my friend since then. We would be always together..." he responded rather quickly.

"I am sorry about it...." I genuinely felt a little sad for him, I have also lost a friend but that is neither here nor there. "Don't worry, I will try my best to find him." I smiled trying to give him some confidence. "You have to find him...." he responded quite demandingly. "I assume you were very close." I couldn't help but notice the sadness on his face. He was demanding, yes, but for the situation he is in right now I think that is the most common response anyone would give. He looked at me once, looked ahead while nodding and started to drive.
