it was like a dream, the mail from Fieng Corporation was finally here. Didn't even think a mail will be sent. They hardly open job applications, it was by the look and research on the individual that determines whether the person gets employed or not. I could hear the fast sound of my heart beat from the inside, the sound of fear. After about an hour I summoned the courage to open the letter…

Dear Miss Chae-Yoon, after thorough checking of your job application, the sight of your master’s degree has made us decide on giving you the post of the third ward secretary. The work starts this coming Monday, have a great day ahead.

My heart filled with joy after seeing these few words

“Finally,” I said to myself, lowly “I can assist my mum is sorting things out financially”

Tears of joy rolled down my eyes as I said so. Ever since father died things haven't been going smoothly, everyone had a hard time, as the eldest sibling, I just had to swallow my own issues and help my younger brother and sister telling them it will all be fine, somehow. He died from a chronic heart disease as a result of smoking, intake of to much nicotine. He started smoking after the death if his mother, when he stopped it was already too late. He was an amazing, it's sad how he isn't here anymore.

But now I am rest assured it will all be fine, I could get them the candies and chocolate they want, I can assist in paying the bills and food and clothing expenses. My mum is a teacher at a school, the school my siblings attend, since she's a teacher the expense of school fees isn't much. In this job, as the secretary I will give it my all and earn money to live a comfortable life with my family.

My mom's reaction to this news will be wild, so as my siblings, when they come back I will tell them everything. I finished my secondary education and got a first degree then went for a master's degree, I looked for jobs to do but the salaries were really little. Then, I applied to work at Fieng corporation, they must have employed me due to my degrees. when I was at school I always tried my best to comes out in a good position so later in the future it would be easy to work for companies. Ever since I was little I always wanted to be a big business woman, now, I am taking my first steps to achieving it.

Got to go get some office dress, and things from the grocery.

It was not 6:45 PM, I had prepared food and mom and my younger siblings were now back the salon. I prepared ramen with boiled eggs. My younger siblings liked eating it. I told them about Fieng Cooperation accepting my job application and they were filled with joy.

...Before I knew it, it was Monday morning. I woke as early as 6 O'Clock AM, to be honest, I barely slept. Mom, and my siblings already left for school few minutes to 7 AM I was nervous, what if I didn't make a good first impression, I have rumors heard of people being fired on the first day, they just never showed up the next day. Pfft, it couldn't be true, right??? The sun rose faster than I expected, it was now 47 minutes past 7....

...I was now at the front of the Fieng building, it is a large tall building covered in glass, a skyscraper. checking in at the entrance filled with muscular bodied men, intimidating ones is. a must for everyone(except the higher ups)...

...“Good morning, kindly show your permit card” A young man probably in his early 30's said, with a deep voice. He had short brown hair....

...“Oh, that” I said, as I brought the permit card out of my small black handbag. The permit card was sent along with the letter. An identity card couldn't have been issued due to the fact that our pictures were not taken yet....

...The identity card contains the worker's name, field of department, the day, month and year the person was employed and lastly the worker's number. Worker's numbers are given for the purpose of showing how many employees the organisation has or had(even if they are no longer working there) and which was employed before which in the organisation....

...I got past the entrance and headed towards the main floor secretary....

...“Hey, good morning”...

...“Good morning,” She said, raising her head “New employee? What's your name?...

...“I am Sung Chae-Yoon”...

...“Hmm, hold on for a while” She said, as she starred into the computer....

...“Oh, here,” She says as she looks up. “You would be working on the third floor as the new secretary”...

...Tell me something I don't know. I said within me....

...She spoke into the little ear set, then a security came our way....

...“Show her the way to the third floor, the secretary office” She commanded....

...“Good luck on your first day” She said. That's the same words my mother said to me as she was leaving for work....

...“Thank you” I replied...

...“You're welcome ” She said...

...As I left she attended to others that came after me. She must have a busy or rather, busier work today cause of the new employees....

...The security worked towards and elevator and I followed, he clicked the open button but it took some time for it to open, seems like people were on it. As we waited, more people joined (Thank goodness, can't imagine how awkward it would have been if it was just the both of us)...

...The security at Fieng Co. is very tight. There are cameras everywhere, there are only a few blind spots. Plus, they got detectives watching and muscular men everywhere in the building. Not in the restroom though, imagine that, it would be weird *giggles*...
