As the morning began, birds tweeting, the wonderful breeze beneath the trees, students rushing to start a new day at school.

Student1: "God! I'm late again!" */gasping for air.

Student2: "shit" */running to class.

In class 304, The students were relaxing while waiting for their teacher to arrive. Some were playing games and talking to their classmates, some girls were retouching their makeup and boys were playing in the room and roaming around. Danielle tends to her own business as usual, listening to her playlist and sketching her drawings as hobbies while enjoying a hot milk bread that she got on her way to school.

Danielle: */listening to her favorite songs of Ariana Grande(In my head), while drawing her dream boyfriend in her sketchbook.

"mhhmmh~.. look at you.. boy I invented you-"   */Someone suddenly bumps at her table.

"ahh!"  */the pencil ripped  the paper and it ruined the drawing, she then turns her back to see who did it.

Trish: "what?, do you want something from me?" */holding a soda can.

"Trish... the most prettiest girl in school has 10k followers every boy liked her, her body, hair, beauty, everything about her is just perfect. the problem is she likes picking on poor girls and makes them her servant, its better not to get involve with her" Danielle was speechless when she saw Trish.

Danielle: "n-nothing" */turns away.

Trish:  */rolls her eyes and sits on her seat

  As soon as Trish sat down, she began gosiping with her friends: "Did you see that? That fat girl started looking at me, so weird." The girls then began laughing.

Danielle: "gosh...why does it have to be Trish..." */scared. 

The teacher finally made it to the classroom. As the bell rings at 730 a.m., the children race to their seats as the teacher comes in.

Teacher: "Alright class, Good morning!"

Everyone: "Good morning Ma'am!"

Teacher: "lets continue where we left off" */starts the lesson

After several hours of learning, the lunch bell rang.

Teacher: "okay we finish our topic here, you can have your lunch class" */ the teacher packs up her things and heads out the room.

As the students set up lunch, they took out their handmade lunches from their bags, and some of them left the room to see what the canteen had in store. While Danielle takes out her lunch box, she notices that her mother has prepared her a chicken leg with a side of hotdogs and rice, both steaming hot and fresh, Her eyes glisten as she prepares to eat a huge taste of savory goodness that her mother made.

Trish: "Wow...looks yummy!" */ takes her food away

Danielle: /gasps* "hey Trish, can you give it back?"

Trish: " oh... right I forgot ..I don't eat hogs will"  */ gives her lunch back

As Danielle approached her lunch, Trish suddenly pours it on the floor, dumping everything in front of Danielle's eyes, making Danielle cry and seeing how her mother worked hard to make the food for her.

Trish:"oops...it slipped off my fingers" */throws her lunchbox to the floor with the food Danielle could have

Danielle: */went silent

The girls left Danielle to clean up their mess, while the other students murmured about it and didn't offered any assistance to help her. Danielle holds back her tears so that her classmates don't think she's too sensitive, then grabs a broom and sweeps up the mess. After cleaning up, she headed toward the bathroom and glanced at herself in the mirror, thinking, "Why does she look like this?" Given her size, rolls on her neck and tummy, no boy would ever accept her with this appearance. She then goes back to the room pretending that nothing occurred, and as she sat down, her stomach grumbled, knowing that she hadn't eaten even one bite of her lunch.

Danielle then got up and went to the canteen to buy some bread; while looking inside, she sees a pack of her Favorite chips and purchases them. While walking back to the room, a boy crashes into her, knocking her pack of chips to the floor.

Luke: "oh...shit.. my bad" */rubbing his neck behind, felt embarrassed of what he did

Danielle felt sorry as she looked at the chips on the floor, knowing she wasted her money and lost her only food for the day. She looks up to see who the boy was, and she was then stunned to see that the boy she bumped into was no one but Luke, the so-called prince in Oakenvale High. "Shit, why did I have to bump into the most beautiful man in earth?" Danielle says in her mind, screaming her lungs off. Luke has always been Danielle's crush since he helped her go to the nurse's office when she scraped her knee, and they haven't had any communication up until now. Luke had gained popularity by winning the Mr & Ms Oakenvale pageant, which included Trish as the queen. According to rumors, Luke and Trish dated in school but broke up after Trish was seen with another boy at Luke's birthday party. "well I didn't mind that false rumor but....I've always liked Luke from afar" . After then, Luke became the school's player.

Danielle: */lost in thought of how the prince bumped into her fat self

Luke suddenly went up close to her face, felt ignored by her

Luke: " you should know~ that is rude to ignore someone" */smirking at her

 While his face was inches away from her, he suddenly blows a strand from her face

Danielle: "s-sorry!" */ blushing intensely and got all embarrassed of what he's doing.

Luke: */sees her chips on the ground. "yo! fatty, wait here alright?"

Luke went elsewhere and leaving Danielle confused about what had happened. "What??? how can he leave me here and run away without repaying what he did," she became furious, but didn't mind that she had shared a chat with Luke

Minutes later, Luke returned with the similar pack of chips she had and a grape juice box, making Danielle fluster.

Luke: "I'm glad you waited" */ smiles at her and hands over the snacks.

Danielle: "I-... yo-you didn't have to buy me these!" */embarrassed.

Luke: "Haha! chill.. since its my fault, plus you can treat me next time!" */looking deeply into her eyes.

Danielle: */whispers "well... thank you" */blushing.

It was the first time she experienced that a boy did something sweet for her.

Luke: */pretends to not hear it "what is it?"  */ smirking.

Danielle: "Thank you" */looking at him all flustered.

Luke: /leaning closely to her* "can you say it again?, you know I cant hear that clearly" */lying

Danielle: "thankyou!"

Luke: */moves a strand of hair and tucks it behind her ear. "No problem~"

Luke felt she was cute and chose to play with her for the time being. When lunch ended, Danielle returned to her class and was startled by what had happened between her and Luke. She kept thinking about Luke all afternoon, and as the day came to an end, she began to wonder if Luke had feelings for her, which made her nervous. She hoped to meet him again the next day.

Danielle arrived at her house and was confronted by her mother; she forgot what came up because she was thinking of Luke the entire time at lunch; she didn't want her mother to feel terrible, so she decided to lie.

Mother: "Hi honey! how was school?, did you enjoy the lunch I prepared?" */Pleased to see her daughter home

Danielle: "oh.. yeah about that ..I.. uhm finished the whole thing" */smiling ,then hands her the lunch box.

Mother: "oh! wow.... you finished off the bones too?" */seeing the empty lunch box

Danielle: "no!, I threw the bones in the trash bin.. haha" */forgot that it was chicken

Mother: "I see.. well then have some dinner"

Danielle was thrilled to see the dishes that her mother prepared for her, as she sits down at her chair, she enjoyed every savory dish the was prepared. as dinner ended with her mother, Danielle gets ready for bed as she was combing her hair she suddenly receives a friend request on her Facebook account. As she checks who it was she sees the name Luke. 

Danielle: "NO....WAY" /shocked*

Danielle went up to her bed, lays on her stomach then grabs a pillow and puts it in her face. she screams with joy "AHHHHHHHHHH".

Danielle: "Its happening!.... He must've like me too" */staring at her screen

"this is the best day I ever had.." 

As Danielle slowly dozes off in her bed thinking what will happen in the next day, suddenly her phone received a message.

*/her received  a notification (BING!)

PHONE:

Luke: (yo!, wassup cutie~).

Danielle got up when she sees Luke's  message and she quickly replies to him.

Danielle:(HI).

Luke:(still awake, I see. what you cant sleep?)

Danielle:(I was about to sleep, but is saw your message)

Luke:(Ohh, its fine. Anyway, can I ask if you want to have Lunch with me tomorrow?)

Danielle: "omg.... he's asking me to have lunch with him....hold up!, I should think maturely. I should just reject him-"

Danielle:(SUREE!, where shall we have lunch?)

Luke:(you know that single tree behind the school gym?, I used to have my lunch their)

Danielle:(alright!, lets have lunch there)

Luke:(great!, see you cutie~)

Danielle closes her phone, delighted that Luke messaged her first, and can't stop thinking about what will happen tomorrow at lunch. Danielle continued cuddling her stuffed animals as she drifted off to sleep peacefully.

It was lunchtime at 11nn where Danielle was headed to the site where she will be eating lunch with Luke. She couldn't stop smiling at the fact that she will be having lunch with him. Danielle prepared Luke's lunch, which consisted of egg sandwiches she made before leaving for school. as she reached the tree where she saw Luke beaming at her in the distance. She couldn't stop admiring his lovely features as the wind blew beneath the curls of his hair.

Luke: “I'm glad you came” */smiles softly at her

Danielle: “Here, I made us some lunch” */smiles back at him

Luke's eyes widened as Danielle opened the lunch box. He took his portion and munched every taste the meal had.

Luke: “dang, that was so good!”

Danielle: “I'm glad it fits your taste” */satisfied

Luke:” where did you learn how to make something like that?”.

Danielle: “well..my mom likes to cook which made me enjoy her cooking too, so I asked her if she can teach me”.

Luke: */pinching her chubby cheeks softly “you should teach me someday too”.

Danielle: “Ouchhh!” */numb

Luke: “haha… My bad, I'm sorry.. did it hurt that much?” */uneasy

Danielle: “its fine” */rubbing her numb cheeks

Luke: “its cute”

Danielle: */flustered

Luke: “what I meant is….your chubby cheeks are cute”

Danielle felt so unique as Luke gazed deeply into her eyes that she could hardly bear the sight of him. As they eat lunch beneath the tree, As Trish walks by with her friends she notices Luke and Danielle together alone. Trish became envious of her ex, the hottest boy in school, who was secretly hanging out with some obese female. Trish couldn’t think than want to ruin Danielle's day by preparing something terrible against her.

Danielle walked to the restroom to wash herself after her afternoon period. As she walked in, she was stunned to find Trish with her friends who were doing their makeup; in spite of her best efforts to avoid them, Trish approached Danielle.

Trish: “Hey~ there you are, I've been waiting for you” */smirking at Danielle

Danielle couldn't face Trish, so she decided to look down and head to the open bathroom stall. As Danielle was ready to enter, Trish slammed the bathroom stall's door.

Trish: “Are you ignoring me?!” */leaning closely at her

Jessica: “Awww, are you scared of us meat bun??” */pinching her cheeks painfully

Danielle: “I'm not..” */nervous

Lauren: “oh really?, she looks like she is about to pee herself” */burst up laughing

Trish: “Do you have feelings for Luke?~” */glares at her

Danielle went quiet when Trish spoke Luke's name. As she went silent, Trish knew that Danielle does have affections for Luke. Trish was furious and proceeded to ruin Danielle's face by drawing lipstick and multiple kinds of makeup on her cheeks, forehead, eyes, and nose.

Trish: “you want Luke to like you right?, he will like you if you look like this”

Trish pushed Danielle close to the mirror to look at what Trish did to her face. The girls busted out laughing at how horrible it looked on her face. Trish continued to tease Danielle, After a while footsteps approached gently. It was Luke.

Luke: “God, Trish you never change do you?”

Trish crosses her arms and leaves the female bathroom, leaving Luke and Danielle alone. Danielle sank on her knees when Trish left, upset that the girls had done something very mean to her. Luke was trying to comfort her as much as he could, wiping away her tears and removing any cosmetic markings the girls had left on her face. As the school bell rang, signaling the end of the day, Luke helped Danielle get up and dragged her out of the building. He treated Danielle to a neighboring street stall that served meat buns. They sat beside the road, As Luke handed Danielle the meat bun, she nibbled on it, her nose stuffy from sobbing.

Luke: */chuckled “Pfft….stop crying already” */munching at his meal

Danielle: “I don't want to go to school tomorrow” */curled up like a ball

Luke: “ignore them” */comforting her

Danielle felt safe near Luke, as his words reassured her for the time being. As time passed, Danielle returned home, lay on her bed as if nothing had happened, and accepted Luke's advice. After that encounter, Trish avoided Danielle for a while. Days have passed, and tests are rapidly approaching . Danielle was studying in the library by herself when Luke came up to see what she was doing.

Luke: “sup!”

Danielle didn't hear him because she was listening to music. Luke sat next to her and removed one of Danielle's earphones from her ear and placed it in his to hear what she was playing.

Luke: “ what are you listening to?”

Danielle: “oh…uhm its nothing” */stops the music in her phone

Luke: “No fun..” */pouting  “well anyway, are you studying for the exams?”

Danielle: “yeah.. well I'm almost done” */Packing her things

Luke: “woah wait, do you know how to do math?”

Danielle: “a little bit”

Luke: “cool! Would you mind if you teach me?”

Danielle: “but I'm not really that good..”

Luke: “Nonsense, I knew you were one of the top 5 in your class”

Danielle: “well.. yeah, but one of my weakness was math”

Luke: “C'mon, just teach me the easy ones”

Danielle: “ fine”

Luke couldn't understand anything during his mathematics lesson for an hour. Luke was easily distracted by the objects around him, making it difficult for Danielle to teach him. Danielle took a break from instructing him as the clock reached 4 p.m. As Danielle was resting when she remembered the snack she had bought at the cafeteria, she opened her bag and ate the milk bread which she bought. While Danielle was enjoying her snack, Luke became hungry and wanted some of Danielle's milk bread.

Luke: “Can I have some?” */asking politely

Danielle: “No” */munching her snack

Luke craved the snack after Danielle said "no". Luke didn't miss his chance to have a mouthful while Danielle was on her third bite; instead, he bit a piece of bread from Danielle's mouth, giving an impression that they had kissed.

*/camera clicks in the distance..

WAit….HUH?!! What just happened?! Did Luke almost kissed me!? I- I wasn’t ready. OMG why?!?!.

Luke: “Thanks!” */smiles innocently at her

Danielle: “ uh…..” */speechless

It was just in time when the bell suddenly rang and there was only  two of us left in the library. I couldn't help but be silent from what just happened. We were not done from studying for our exams but I couldn’t help but look away from him...I should leave.

Danielle: “oh.. the bell just rang, I better go now.” */packing up her stuff

Luke: “YO! don't leave yet” */reaching for her arm

As he gently gripped her wrist, they felt a sense of connection as they looked at each other with eyes full of confusion and wonder. The silence in the room caused Danielle to fall deeper for him. His gaze remained focused on her dark, chestnut colored iris. She couldn't resist thinking that maybe Luke might have fallen for her too, despite her appearance, he might have been interested by her personality, or could be just a mere misunderstanding. She shook his hand off her wrist and walked away heading out from the library, without looking back.

After that day, Danielle wasn't able to face Luke as she would go red just from thinking about it. As she entered the hallway, students from every corner were staring at her with disgust and hatred,  yet she had no clue why, as she went up to her locker to retrieve her books. As she opened it, it was full with different kinds of shoes from students that were stuffed inside. The students laughed at her and called her "Slut!", "Homewrecker!" She had no choice but to run to the girls' bathroom, crying in distress. She locked herself up in the stall and cried.

Danielle: “what is g-going on??..” */ she asked herself as tears were falling from her eyes.

She kept crying, when her phone suddenly lit up as a notification was shown on the screen. Once she had opened it, she finally understood why everyone had been tormenting her. The phone showed a photo of  what looks like of her and Luke ‘kissing’. She was surprised that someone had somehow spotted them in the library and managed to share it on social media. She wouldn't be able to report the person who posted it as it was from an anonymous account. 

Instead what really happened was Luke suddenly took a bite of a piece of bread from her mouth; But, their lips never met. She now understood why everyone thought they were ‘dating’. 

As the rumor continued to spread across the school, students would keep torment her, but Danielle didn’t care as she couldn't help but worry more about Luke's reputation in school instead. After class, she searched for Luke around the campus. Once she had already found him, surrounded by Luke’s ‘fans’ known as "LUKAITES" she hesitated to go talk to him as those were the same girls who had been tormenting her from the first place. In every way they can, they had been searching for Danielle, ever since the rumor started, the girls kept bullying her in front of the school building. Every day, she looked for Luke non-stop, but would just end up bumping into those girls instead. One day she finally happened to see Luke hanging out with his mates on the football field, without any of those nasty girls around.

Danielle: “Luke!” */ she called as she walks up to him

As she approached him, she noticed how Luke was acting a bit differently from the last time they met, he showed an annoyed, yet disgusted expression. As the two meet, she told him everything about the rumor.

Luke: ”So?...what about it?”

Danielle: ”I-.......please can you explain to them that we’re nothing but friends..”

Luke just went silent…I just want this rumor to end, everyone won't leave me alone. I just want to go back to how I used to be, a ghost.

Luke: ’’wow…... .What am i? your little dog? ‘We’re nothing but friends’ ” */He sighed, showing a hint of annoyance 

“Fuck…. Let me tell you something. Do you know why I hang around you? I pity you since you are just a loser who gets high grades and eats everywhere. God, it's annoying seeing you all alone on campus, reading and eating. You're not even attractive, so why would I fall for you? Everything I did was all an act! Maybe you should just go workout or wear makeup or something. Oh wait, you'll simply look more ugly with it” */sighs..

“Look, I thought I could improve my grades if I started hanging out with you, which is why I made use of you, letting you think that we’re ‘good friends’, so thanks to your naive personality, you completely fell for it. Now please, since you know everything why don’t you just fuck off and don't ever show your face again”

Danielle’s whole world shattered just then and there, as she felt a pang in her chest, the feeling of betrayal from the only friend she thought she had. Danielle ran home crying, knowing that the guy and friend she somehow has feelings for, broke her to pieces. Luke couldn’t help but feel sorry for all the things he said to her knowing that he couldn’t change what has already been said and done. 

Trish: ”Good job, baby~” */kisses his cheek 

Luke: "Can you please stop? Delete the rumor now”

Trish: ”I will~” */opened her phone and deleted the post.

Luke:’’ Ugh-” */shakes her hand off his arms, and left 

Trish:/smirks*. “bye bye porky~” */waving at Danielle running

After several weeks, Danielle was unable to move on from what had happened and would eventually skip school. She cried every day till she could no longer cry anymore. Her mother was concerned for her, she didn't know anything that had happened at school and she never cared to ask, knowing it would hurt Danielle more. Instead, she asked Danielle if she wanted to study at home to help her recover. Knowing it's difficult for her to go back, Danielle agreed to be homeschooled for 2 years.

2 YEARS LATER

2yrs had passed and Danielle had completely changed…… from her actions to her appearance, everything was new.

Danielle was in her room, as always, just playing games on a call with her online friends.

Danielle: ”behind you! behind!..... nice one!!”

OnlineFriend: ”Good game!”

OtherOnlineFriend: ”yo! dani2_4….awesome shot”

Danielle: ”Thanks!...alright guys…i gotta take a break, BYE!” */logs off from the game

Danielle: ”whew… that was fun”

Her mother walks in her room with her sister, bearing news.

Lynn: ”What the..” */looks around the place

“When will you be able to go out and touch some grass again? Look at this mess of a room you have (describing her room)”

Danielle: ”im happy with just by how it is”

Lynn: ”whatever…..suit yourself” */she rolled her eyes as she sat on the bed

Mother: ”Well…i'm happy that you’re getting better now at least.. Uhm.. Me and your sister were thinking.. why don’t we start at a new pace?”

Danielle: ”what ... .Do you mean?”

Lynn: ”You’re going back to school.. My school to be exact”

Mother: ”Yup!”

Danielle: ”HUHH?!?!”
