I Love Our Twisted Fate

Chapter 1

I never expected that I would follow the fate that this body has.

It was as if time stood still as I stepped out of the carriage. The soft breeze carried a subtle fragrance, making the atmosphere feel ethereal, the air filled with the scent of flowers. I was bathed in the sunlight as it illuminated my gown and caressed my skin. An awestruck hush spread through the crowd, my graceful exit striking them all speechless. The cobblestones beneath my feet, the light glinting in the diamond-laden buttons of my gown, and the air gently kissing my face, all combined to create a serene atmosphere that was nothing short of poetic.

It was with a Stoic, expressionless demeanour that the butler greeted me, showing no outward emotion whatsoever. He took my hand and escorted me to the manor's entrance, my dress rustling softly with every step. The lack of any emotion made the encounter seem rather cold and distant. The butler's eyes remained fixed on me, his expression unchanging. I felt as though I was being ushered into a house of mourning rather than being welcomed into my beautiful new home.

As a lady, I maintained my regal demeanour, understanding their caution towards me, who was a stranger to them. The butler, John, took me to my room, which was spacious and far from suffocating, with a relaxing atmosphere. A combination of mint walls and white and gold gave the room a sophisticated and upscale ambience. The fine furniture and luxurious fixtures created an elegant feeling, while the elegant fabrics brought a sense of luxury. After the butler left me to have my rest, I toured the room, admiring its grandeur. It was truly a grand room to stay in.

Enough of the idle, I'm here, and I'm ready to play my part.

After death came peace, and the calm I had yearned for finally came. I never expected to return to life or to discover that my body was now the vessel of a fictional princess - Chrysopeleia Claramonde Romano, a brilliant but misunderstood character. A side character who was hidden away and forgotten by the world. It was a strange twist of fate, and I wondered if there was any reason for it. Was it simply chance, or did this strange event have a deeper meaning?

I knew her story would eventually end, and this thought brought me no small amount of dread.

I had already resigned myself to my destiny, as I could not return to death, and there was no avoiding the fate that awaited me. It seemed prudent to first recall the book, to gain a deep understanding of the story and my character's role in it. I needed to know what I was getting myself into.

The book was a tale of a fallen noble woman and a prince. It was a struggle for power and love. The fallen lady sought revenge for her unjust treatment, while the prince would become her stronghold. In the process, they would develop a close relationship and achieve their goals together.

My role would not alter the story's ending, as I was merely a side character. As such, I would fulfill my role and play my part in the narrative, but I would not alter the destiny of the main characters.

"Do not worry," I exclaimed, "my existence in this body will not change your destiny. I will play my role, and I will not alter your destined fate. That is my part."

Chapter 2

If I remember correctly, my husband has never been home.

Duke Amedeo Achillus Heatherstone, the infamous Duke and General of the empire. He was also one of the main characters in the story. He was the third male lead. He had never been in any social gathering but also didn't involve himself in romance. Despite those, he was still forced to marry the Princess, and he couldn't just ignore it.

Despite the Princess lofty social status, Princess Chrysopeleia's marriage to the third male lead was one with no love. It was a forced union, with the empress as a driving force behind it.

"A marriage with no love is almost common from a noblewoman's perspective," I thought. "They are forced to enter into unions for the sake of power and status. Many noble ladies have no choice in their fate, and their destiny is often cruel and filled with loneliness."

I was interrupted from my thoughts by a knock at the door. A middle-aged woman's calming presence offered some comfort as she entered my room.

"Your highness, please have your dinner," she said, providing a sense of composure in her voice.

"I'm Sarah, the housekeeper of this state,"

Sarah was a middle-aged woman. Grey hair that was pulled back into a bun. Her clothing was simple and modest, consisting of a white apron and a long black skirt. Her eyes were kind and benevolent, with the occasional worry line on her forehead to indicate her responsibilities as a servant.

With a warm smile, she led me through the opulent halls of the state house. We entered the grand dining area, which was adorned with intricate fixtures and delicate silverware. The table was set with a magnificent feast, and Sarah motioned for me to take a seat. The aroma of the delicious dishes filled the air, and I couldn't wait to try them.

Alone in the mansion, I enjoyed the feast set before me. My eyes sparkled at the sight of the abundant fare, and I couldn't help but be ecstatic at the sight of so much delicious food. The maids around me watched in wonder, surprised by my cheerful demeanour without my knowledge. Normally, a lady who was married and alone without her husband's presence would feel lonely, but I was in a vibrant and happy vibe. The maid was awestruck by the Princess beauty, and it became more apparent, even when she was eating.

She exuded a beauty that was effortless and mesmerizing. Every bite of the tender steak melted in her mouth, and the delicious aroma from the food filled the room. The princess truly enjoyed her dinner, savouring each mouthful of the delicacies before her.

I plopped myself onto my bed and was feeling content. I pondered about this place, enjoying its grandeur and admiring the lavishness of it. I particularly liked how large the hallways were, as well as the many portraits on the wall - it truly was a grand place. The thought of having to walk the length of the hallway made me fatigue just at the thought of it.
