A Sinful Sacrifice
Episode 1
This is my second story. I hope you all enjoy it. As you all know my chapters are a bit longer so bare with it and lets go till the end.

*a gentle voice calling out for someone*
A six feet tall and muscular figure walked inside the room. His appreance is very bulky and built is sturdy. But he is not a human nor an animal either. Its a beast man. His upper body is of a cat and the rest is of human.
The beastman looked scary. He had sharp greenish yellow eyes, long fluffy ears and black-white strips covered with smooth silky furs all over his body.
He was wearing a deep royal navy blue cloak falling onto his ankle. His head was not hooded making it possible to see his obvious features.
Jacky
Zoee,get down from there.
*though he looked scary. His tone was very gentle as if he deeply cared for the person he is calling out to*
Jacky
You know, you are not allowed in here.
zoee(Mc)
*A young little girl about the age of seventeen, has pale yellowish tanned skin tone which doesn't match with the natives there, her eyes were of light blue colour full of brightness and youth. Her smooth silky hair was of blakish-brown colour and all her facial features were a lot different than the people there, indicating she is not from this region of the Ravenlark Kingdom.
She was standing on the wooden desk of a magnificent spacious study room, searching for something, slightly turned her head hearing the upcoming footsteps*

Jacky!!!
*the girls cute and brightful voice echoed in the room*
Jacky
*It seems the beastman's name is jacky. The beastman slowly walked towards the table desk where Zoee was standing. He slowly lifted her slender body from the table and carefully put her down. Zoee hugged Jacky's huge body for support and didn't let go until she felt the ground*
Jacky
*with a concerned expression he thoughtfully asked*
What are you doing in the study room?
Hades will get angry.
zoee(Mc)
*The girls little eyebrows twisted in nervousness as soon as she heard the name "Hades". In a low and cute voice she replied*
Jacky, I was just looking around since Hades never allows me inside this room.
zoee(Mc)
*in a begging tone she looked up at him and asked*
you won't tell hades about this, right?
Jacky
*He let out a sigh cause seeing Zoee's pleading eyes he couldn't bring himself to say no. In a deep voice he solemnly said*
I won't tell him but you need to get out of here before he returns.
zoee(Mc)
*Her smooth red plump lips curled up all the way exposing her white teeths. She was smiling in happiness. The next second she tightly hugged Jacky and excitedly said*
Thank you, Jacky. You are the best.
zoee(Mc)
*Hugging the beastman's huge body she looked up at his face and Mischievously said*
Then you wouldn't mind if i take a close look at this room. right?
Jacky
ahh?
*this demand of zoee did make him a bit worried. Cause if Hades got to know about this he won't spare anybody. But jacky is too soft when it comes to this little girl. he just couldn't deny and just simply nod.*
zoee(Mc)
*this instantly brought a huge glim of light and cheerfulness in her eyes. Seeing her smiling face Jacky couldn't help giving her a slight peaceful smile of assurance*
The room was splendid. It's not about the beauty or architecture of this room. The real thing is it's filled with antiques and not just some random ones but each and every thing that placed in here are filled with magic. They all have a special purpose and funtion differently.
The picture frames were hung on the wall with the sheet being blank but as soon as you look at one the image will appear before your eyes. Various type of witch balls of different sizes are placed all over the room. Bones and horns of animals are cut into items that are used by wizards and witches.
The cupboards were filled with ancient books. Some of them were special cause nothing was written on them. These books can only be read by using magic.
zoee(Mc)
*all those things intrigued Zoee. she was deeply fascinated. Suddenly a book on the shelf caught her attention but when she opened the book*
Jacky, there's nothing written on this book. I want to read it. Will you help me?
*she asked holding one book from the shelf*
Jacky
*He glanced at the book, suddenly his eyes twitched. It seems this book is not like the other magical books. It's different*
He slowly shook his head in disagreement and said*
it's impossible. Even with magic i can't read this. Not just me it can't be read by anybody except Hades. This book is sealed.
zoee(Mc)
Except Hades?
Does that mean he sealed it.
zoee(Mc)
Aren't you a wizard too. why can only Hades do it and you can't. And why did he seal this in the first place?
Jacky
ahh!!!
I can't kid. If i try to open it then there might be repercussions. And may be there's something important. That's why hades sealed it.
Jacky
We don't need to get involved otherwise hades will know. Do you understand?
zoee(Mc)
yeah. fine.
*she dejectedly said while putting the book back at its place*
Jacky
Are you over seeing the room? Can we leave now?
zoee(Mc)
No, wait. There's still a lot to explore. Let me see a bit more.
*saying this she pondered here and there like a Mischievous child. Playing with everything her eyes caught attention to. She didn't care that she is actually interfering with things that are might useful to Hades or someone else. While Jacky patiently waiting for her to done with it as soon as possible*
This study room belongs to Hades. One of the most important room in this whole castle. Hades never allows especially Zoee inside this room and the reason is unknown. That's why zoee is on a mission today to explore what's hidden in this room.
zoee(Mc)
*she kept playing around again and again looking here and there, touching different things, monuments, manuscripts, inscriptions, wooden doors, antiques etc. Suddenly she bumped into a wooden checker designed artifact placed on a side table. when she tried to touch it it felt very rigid. She slowly tried to lift it up but to her surprise it's fixated to it's position. She tried to push it harder but still there is no movement. Then in a repulse her hand that tried to push the artifact suddenly slipped and the box rotated slightly. A black square wooden key came forward. Zoee's eyes widened in excitement. she was not surprised or scared cause living with wizards and witched she had seen things that are impossible to believe whether it's magic or something else*
zoee(Mc)
*Zoee observed the wooden box having different keys popping out of it made a certain pattern. she then got to know this box is actually a key to open something. And the only way to do it is to make some type of pattern by pressing those popped up black-white keys*
zoee(Mc)
Jacky!!!
*she called out for jacky*
zoee(Mc)
see this box. Do you know how to open it?
Jacky
*he slowly came near zoee and looked at the small box having black and white patterns on it*
This box?
zoee(Mc)
yeah, can you open it?
Jacky
I will try.
*saying this he unfolded his hands in the air, closed his eyes then chanted some spells. Suddenly orange coloured flammable shiny things similar to stars covered the place. They are like smoke but when you touch it, it tingles and disappears onto thin air. This is the beauty of magic.
The keys on the box suddenly started to move on their own. And finally stopped making a cross pattern*
Jacky
jacky lowered his hands and that little twinkingling things slowly disappeared. The spell was over but the box wasn't open yet*
Looks like this box is also sealed. I can't open it.
zoee(Mc)
what???
*she asked with a concerned look on her face*
zoee(Mc)
*Zoee being the playful kid couldn't understand why all these things are sealed. First the book and now the strange box. She was a bit intimidated and upset by all these things. But that cross symbol on the box made a huge impression on her. She felt like there is something hidden in this room, and she needs to find it*
zoee(Mc)
*on the quest to find it she tried to look for clues and traces. Suddenly something came to her mind*
Jacky, is it possible that there's a secret door in here?
*she thoughtfully asked*
Jacky
*Though he has entered this room quite occasionally on Hades's orders but never sneaked inside and took a closer look at these things. How will he know if there's a secret door or not. But nonetheless there can be a possibility.
So he slightly shook his head and gently said*
It may be possible.
zoee(Mc)
Then let's find it.
zoee(Mc)
yeah, I want to know what's hidden in there.
Both of them started tapping the walls, moving things from their places. but still didn't find a thing. Tired both of them stopped searching for a while.
Jacky
Zoee i don't thing there's a secret door here. let's stop this. okay.
*saying this he placed his hand on the deer skull hung on the wall. due to the pressure of his body it got pressed against the wall and suddenly a heavy roaring sound of something moving came. It was like an earthquake as is something heavy is moving. And there it was. Zoee was right. The cupboard that were filled with books suddenly slid to the sides and a heavy stone walled door slowly moved out. It was opening*
Jacky
*jacky was surprised. his eyes were wide awake staring at the stone wall moving*
zoee(Mc)
*while zoee's face lit up with amusement. All along she was right. Now she will find out what hades is hidjng from her.
she clapped both of her hands together in excitement and cutely said*
let's go Jacky.
The secret room was dark. Everything was pitch black. Jacky hurriedly brought his right hand forward and in a second fire started burning over his hand illuminating the whole room. The room was unexpectedly very clean as if it was being regularly used. There was not many furniture there. Only two side tables and a king sized sofa placed on the side and the rest of the room was empty. When they went further inside the room,
there was a stone chest like structure inscribed with ancient letters. Various weird drawing were drawn above it. And in the middle there was a big cross symbol similar to the box they had just seen. It almost resembles a coffin.
zoee(Mc)
Jacky look, It's the same cross symbol we saw on that box.
*she said while pointing her finger at the stone like structure which resembles a coffin*
Jacky
*he glanced at the stone box for a while. Analysing it said*
yeah it's the same symbol we just saw. May be that little box has the key to this one.
zoee(Mc)
uhh!!!
what could possibly inside this?
Jacky
*his eyes were steady as if he kinnd of knows whats inside this but not sure. or may be he doesn't want to tell zoee about this*
I don't know.
Shifting their gaze, they went further to explore the room.There was a huge portrait hung on the wall opposite to that stone box. But due to not enough lighting the contents of the portrait are not visible.
Jacky slowly took his hand glowing with fire near the portrait and the huge portait came to light.

*Zoee took a look at the portrait and soon her eyes got filled with doubts. The portrait was of two people standing close to each other. There was a very handsome man and a beautiful woman.
He had red ruby like enchanting eyes, thick eyebrows showing confidence, a perfect gorgeous jawline and slim Mischievous lips. The man looked godly as if descended from the ruins of underworld god of mortals.While the woman was complete opposite, she was fair like a fairy, beautiful pale white curly hair falling to her waist, Mesmerizing pale green eyes, thick eyelashes, narrow eyebrows, peachy red cheeks and smooth glossy lips. she looked delicate but mature at the same time unlike Zoee who is still childish and playful.
There's no doubt that they are lovers. The man's eyes were gentle, filled with warmth looking towards the woman, while the woman was compassionate and kind. A true beauty indeed. They both looked perfect for each other.
zoee(Mc)
*But what bothered Zoee was, the man standing in the portrait was none other than Hades. And the woman, she doesn't have any idea*
With a baffled and confused expression on her face she slowly asked*
Jacky who is this woman?
Jacky
*he became speechless for a second hearing her question. Cause he seems to know something about this woman. But how will he answer Zoee. She doesn't know anything. unrelated to all the things happening here.
His face suddenly became serious and in a deep voice he carefully said*
She...She is Eirene.
zoee(Mc)
*she looked at jacky, giving him a piercing gaze asked*
what's her relationship with Hades?
Jacky
*he sighed dejectedly and said*
Hades's beloved woman, Eirene.
zoee(Mc)
*Don't know why but after hearing this from jacky, zoee's eyes became gloomy. That excited look disappeared from her face and a certain amount of envy covered it up. Though she was just a teenage girl but in her eyes that was clear jealousy. She stared at the woman in the portrait for a while and thought*
(She is so beautiful. I am not even a step closer to her.
So she is the woman in Hades's heart for all along. No wonder he is so cold to me.)
*thinking this she asked*
Then where is she now?
Jacky
She...she passed away.
*they was a stillness in his voice as if these information are not to be revealed to anyone especially zoee*
zoee(Mc)
*suddenly her eyes widened in shock. She looked up at jacky and again asked*
When?
Jacky
Almost 100 years ago.
Jacky
Not that long kid. For you humans a hundred years may seem long but for us, it was like a decade ago.
zoee(Mc)
Wasn't she one of you? how can she die that early?
Jacky
*he shook his head in disagreement and said*
She was a human too.
zoee(Mc)
How did she die then?
Jacky
*jacky suddenly became silent this time. He took a while to answer*
That...I think it's better if you not know.
zoee(Mc)
Why? Why can't you tell me?
*zoee is stubborn as hell. She is persistent and a bit bothersome now. But before she could whine more jacky's cat ears twitched. Someone is coming this way.*
Jacky
*he hurriedly closed zoee's mouth and whispered near her face*
Looks like Hades is back. We need to get out of here. As soon as possible.
zoee(Mc)
*her small brows twisted together showing worry. She quickly nodded. The next second Jacky chanted a spell and in an instant they were vanished to thin air. They were teleported to Zoee's room*
This teleportation magic is the special ability of Jacky. Not all sorcerer can practice this. But it has limitations. They can only teleport to places they have been to. Teleporting to far away places like the underworld or certain forbidden realms without permission is punishable cause you will be breaking the rule of life and may cost you your life.
Both of them took a sigh of relief.
Zoee's room doesn't look like any of those seventeen years old teenage girl's room. It was more empty and only filled with minimal necessary items. Her room has a balcony through which the whole outside scenery can be seen. The castle was quite abandoned and situated in the middle of a forest. Even the nearest village is forty kilometers away from there. This whole region comes under Raven lark kingdom, one of the wealthiest kingdom among the seven kingdoms. Filled with resources, rich in minerals, technology and magic. People live here in peace and harmony. There were humans, elves, beast men, wizards, witches and many more. They all lived together.
Jacky
that was close. you shouldn't have sneaked into that room. It is dangerous.
zoee(Mc)
*she looked at jacky with concerned eyes as if her mind is not at peace at all. she has a lot of questions to ask. After thinking for a while she asked*
Jacky, that stone chest we saw there, if i am not wrong was that a cist? A cist for Eriene?
Jacky
*his whole body halted there like a statue. He was afraid this little thing might connect the dots but guess it can't be helped. she is too smart to figure it out. He looked at her small face and gently said*
yeah. But I don't know for sure.
Jacky
And you shouldn't get involved in this anymore.
Jacky
you know Hades will get angry if he finds out.
zoee(Mc)
I...I know. But why does he always treats me like a kid? and why does he never pays attention to me?
zoee(Mc)
He doesn't even call me by my name. Let alone talking with me.
Jacky
ah?
*hearing zoee's complains he doesn't know what to say. he can't do anything on this matter though. His only job is to take care of her. That's what Hades ordered him to*
Don't be sad zoee. Hades cares for you.
Jacky
you know you were only three months old when he brought you here. And we all took care of you like a princess of this castle.
Jacky
And now you have grown into a beautiful girl. How can he not care for you?
zoee(Mc)
beautiful? me???
Am i more beautiful than Eirene?
*zoee asked with a face full of hope*
Jacky
uh!
I mean all woman have different type of beauty. you shouldn't compare with others.
zoee(Mc)
what do you mean?
you meant to say I am not beautiful than her?
Jacky
eh?
no, zoee. I didn't mean that.
zoee(Mc)
hmph...
i won't talk with you anymore.

who is not beautiful than whom?
*a deep cold voice came from the doorway*
Hades(ML)
*The man had a well built muscular sturdy body around 6 feet 2 inches tall slowly walked inside the room. He was wearing a black cloak, long leather shoes and tight gloves on his hands. He had pitch black hair, red ruby like enticing eyes, a cold yet Captivating voice, an unemotional expression and a majestic aura. Unlike jacky he looked more composed and reserved. A man of honor. He is the greatest most powerful sorcerer among the seven kingdoms. A sorcerer of high mana affinity feared across the world and highly respected.
His movements are very elegant and courteous. A very mature man indeed. How can someone not get tempted by his appreance*
Hades(ML)
*he walked towards both of them. His eyes as usual cold like ice. In a deep serious voice he Indifferently asked*
what are you two doing here?
Jacky
*jacky hurridly answered*
uh, we were just talking and got into a small dispute. It's nothing important.
Hades(ML)
If that's all then there's no need for you to be here.
Jacky
yes, i will leave now.
Hades(ML)
*his cold eyes glared at the small girl. He acted as if he didn't listen to her calling him. he quickly turned and left the room*
zoee(Mc)
*but before Hades could leave the door way she asked*
when did you come home?
Hades(ML)
*heis footsteps stopped but he didn't turn and said*
A while ago.
zoee(Mc)
will you teach me magic? I feel like there's a lot of doubts.
Hades(ML)
isn't hera teaching you well? if you have any doubt then ask her.
zoee(Mc)
but I want you to teach me.
Hades(ML)
Don't be stubborn. I am not your father.
*saying this he left the corridor*
zoee(Mc)
*that stung. how could he say that to her. Is it because she is an orphan. But he was the one who raised her from a baby*
on a mission
Inside the study room, Jacky was standing in front of the desk while Hades's eyes were staring at the calander on the wall.
Jacky
*A few seconds later jacky asked*
you called me all of a sudden. was it something urgent?
Hades(ML)
*his eyes were dark and gloomy. In a deep serious voice he solemnly replied*
That day is approaching. This full moon will be a lunar eclipse.
Hades(ML)
Prepare for the ritual.
Jacky
eclipse? it's only 3 days away.
Hades(ML)
I want you and Hera prepare that girl.
Jacky
*hearing this Jacky's eyes suddenly got covered with great sorrow. In a calm tone he said*
Hades, there's no need for Zoee to attend this ritual. We all can handle this.
Hades(ML)
*hearing Jacky's reasoning his brows frowned a bit, eyes full of killing intent glared at him. Then an ice cold voice fell*
you are telling me to carry out the ritual without inviting the main ingredient for it?huh?
Jacky
*He was taken aback after hearing Hades's cold words. Jacky may seem scary but he is a very kind and caring person inside. He is strong but at the same time soft inside unlike Hades who is persistent and doesn't understand the necessity of love around him*
But Zoee doesn't know anything about it.
Hades(ML)
Tell her that I am going to teach her magic on that day.
Jacky
Hades, that will be unfair.
I don't think you should betray her trust...
Hades(ML)
DON'T FORGET WHY I BROUGHT HER HERE IN THE FIRST PLACE!!!!!
*A deep cold voice roared inside the magnificent study room*
Hades(ML)
She has only one purpose that she needs to oblige.
Jacky
*his words hung halfway in the air as soon as Hades's cold voice fell. He became speechless for a moment and at last became complete silent. Finally with a slight nod he uttered*
I understand.
*saying this he left the room*
Hades(ML)
*As soon as Jacky left the room an unreadable expression covered his face. After a second he stared at the checkered designed wooden artifact on the side table. The same box that Zoee and jacky couldn't open.
His eyes suddenly became gloomy. The next second he enchanted a spell and the wooden box slowly started moving. All of its keys started pressing in a pattern then finally made a cross symbol. Hades touched the box and with a click sound it opened*
Hades(ML)
*When he removed the wooden cover of the box, there was a small metallic designed cross inside it. The shape was a bit unusual and felt more like of a pendent.
He took out the cross in his hand and stared blankly for a second*
Hades(ML)
*Again with a spell he pressed the deer skull on the wall and the door to the secret room slowly opened. He slowly walked inside the dark room and lightened the fire brazier on the walls. He stood in the middle of the room near the stone chest and looked up at the portrait. reminiscing the past. Soon eyes got filled with gloom and sadness. His expression was unreadable. He intensely stared at the woman in the picture and whispered*
Eirene.

I promise you, I will bring you back.
Hades(ML)
Soon that girl will reach eighteen and you will come back to me.
*saying this he slowly diverted his gaze to the stone cist near him. He placed his fingers on it, his eyes were full of sorrow and loneliness as if the grief is eating him inside out. This solitariness is beyond unbearable now*
Hades(ML)
*He slowly took out the cross shaped metallic pendant and placed it in the middle of the stone chest where there was a hollow opening of a cross symbol. As soon as the key was placed in its place the stone chest slowly slid and the rigid cover moved.
when it was completely opened there was a beautiful woman lying under it.It was indeed a cist, a coffin for Eirene.
Her skin was as bright as of a living human being. Her long smooth curly hair was lying there like a river. She was wearing a red white medieval british styled gown. A diamond ring on her left hand and an ancient ruby pendent on her neck. All were given by Hades as a present. Though she was dead for hundred years she looked like she is alive and is deep asleep. Hades probably used magic to made her stay like this.
Hades(ML)
*he stared at the woman like she is the only thing that can give him solace in this world. He slowly raised his hand and caressed her pale cheecks. Then in a gentle voice called*
Eirene, I am sorry. I made you wait so long. So long that a century has passed.
Hades(ML)
But everything will be alright as long as you return. I will wait for you.
*saying this he slowly lowered his body and kissed her forehead*
At other side, in the gigantic lavish library hall of the castle, Zoee and hera are practicing magic.
Hera
Zoee, watch this carefully. okay?
*A woman who looks around 25 years old said while teaching zoee. She is a witch and her age is also unknown. Unlike other witches she doesn't look hideous and scary rather more prettier than many young girls of age. Sometimes even zoee wonders how can a witch be so pretty and kind. She has big deer like eyes, pitch black wavy hair, a sharp nose and a pair of slim glossy lips. She was wearing spectacles. Don't know why? She could use magic to cure her eyesight but instead of that she always wears spects. She teaches Zoee magic and more like taught her everything from since she was a child. Jacky and Hera are like a family to zoee. Even though Hades never paid much attention to her but these two were always with her like her guardians.
Hera enchanted a spell and slowly lifted an hourglass on the table without touching it*
Hera
*she was demonstrating how to lift a thing up in the air using magic. The next Zoee has to do this herself*
Zoee, give it a try.
zoee(Mc)
me?
okay.
*she slowly raised her hands and chanted the spell in her mind and slowly that hourglass got lifted from the table. Hera was very happy to see zoee's improvement but the hourglass only rose up to one feet then suddenly fell.
Zoee slowly lowered her hands. Her eyes became gloomy. Even a small thing she couldn't do it. She felt useless*
Hera
*just that moment hera said*
it's okay dear. You have made some improvement. You can do it after some practice.
zoee(Mc)
But i have been trying for days and still i couldn't do a simple thing. this is why Hades thinks i am useless.
*she dejectedly said carrying a sad expression on face*
Hera
eh?
*she was stunned to hear this little girls words. She must be very upset to say this. Thinking about this Hera asked*
Did hades say something to you?
zoee(Mc)
No... He didn't say anything. He never talks to me anyway. why would he say something to me?
*her little brows were twisted together in frustration. She was angry and sad at the same time*
Hera
*judging zoee's expression she already guessed it's definitely something related to Hades*
Zoee, what happened? tell me, I will solve it right away.
zoee(Mc)
No it's nothing. It's just that I asked Hades to teach me magic and he denied.
Hera
oh, dear. you know he is busy. It must be that, otherwise why would he refuse you?
zoee(Mc)
*she shook her head in disagreement and angrily said like of a spoiled brat*
No, he was rude. very very rude. He said i am being stubborn and he is not my father who will always take care of me.

You shouldn't take his words to heart. you know he is indifferent but actually cares about people.

And he cares about you too. a lot.

I will believe you this one last time.
Hera
*she smiled after seeing this little thing finally convinced*
At that moment footsteps came from the doorway.
Zoee and Hera's attention shifted towards that direction.
When that person came inside, it was none other than jacky. But his expression was a bit restless and was in a hurry. His foot steps were also unsteady as if he is in a rush.
Jacky
*he hurriedly came near Hera and said*
Hera, i need a word with you. It's urgent.
Jacky
its...
*he stopped mid way and stared at zoee who is watching them with her eyes and ears wide open*
Hera
*she quickely understood the situation and asked zoee*
Zoee, you can continue practicing. I will come back after a while.
*saying this she and jackey left the room*
Hera
Inside a private room, Hera anxiously asked*
What happened? why are you in such a rush?
Jacky
Hades,... He wants Zoee to be present in the next ritual ceremony.
Hera
What?
*she was stunned to hear this sudden news. Her brows twisted in agitation and asked*
when is the ritual?
Jacky
three days from today. On lunar eclipse.
Hera
Hades has completely gone insane. How could he do that?
After all those years I thought he would change his mind but guess i was wrong.
Hera
Wait, she is not eighteen yet. Why does Hades wants her to be present in the ritual?
Jacky
I think this will be a preparation. Preparation for the sacrifice.
Hera
*they both became silent for a while. Their eyes were filled with grief. They don't know what to do to avoid this situation*
is there really no way to avoid this sin from happening?
Jacky
*he glanced at hera and dejectedly said*
No one can stop Hades.
Jacky
If only he loved that girl for a bit. she is so adorable. I just don't know how to stop this calamity from happening.
Hera
*her eyes suddenly moved as if something strike inside her head. something Mischievous. And she said*
Why not?
Hera
why not make Hades fall in love again?
Jacky
Hera, have you gone completely insane now too? She is a human and more over only seventeen years old. can you match the age gap here? huh?
Jacky
moreover i don't want hades to go through the same pain again.
Hera
Then will you be able to see her die in front of your eyes then?
Jacky
*after these words were fell, Jacky's face became extremely gloomy. His love for zoee and his loyalty for hades are battling in his mind*
