Secrets Of The Deep Blue Ocean

Prologue

The Prologue

In the depths of the vast ocean, hidden from the prying eyes of the surface world, a legendary war raged on between two underwater factions. For centuries, the water-dwelling mermaids and the octomaid clan had been bitter rivals, engrossed in a battle fueled by ancient animosity and long-forgotten disagreements.

Unbeknownst to the surface world, this ongoing war had far-reaching consequences. Hurricanes ravaged coastal villages, leaving destruction in their wake, while colossal waves rose from the sea's depths, transforming into terrifying tsunamis that swept away entire civilizations. Nature's wrath seemed inexplicable, the cause elusive to those who lived above the ocean's surface.

Yet, beneath the serene calmness of the endless blue, the reason for these cataclysmic events lay buried in the ongoing war between mermaids and the octomaid clan.

Amidst this turbulent era, a mermaid princess named Maren emerged as an unexpected central figure. She was the beloved daughter of King Hydra, ruler of the mermaid kingdom. Aqua was brought up with tales of the octomaid clan's treachery, being told that they were nothing more than evil and corrupt savages.

"Maren, my beloved daughter, you must promise me never to venture near the forbidden reef," King Hydra had solemnly told her, his voice filled with concern. "Those creatures residing on the other side, the octomaids, are savages. You must never associate with them. Promise me, for your safety."

Although Maren had always respected and loved her father, her curiosity was now piqued. She could not resist the allure of the forbidden reef, a realm unknown to her father and their kingdom. The tales of the mysterious octomaids echoed in her ears, only fueling her fascination. She yearned to uncover the truth behind the tales her father shared.

One day, as Marien swam near the border of the forbidden reef, her heart raced with a mixture of excitement and fear. Caution filled her thoughts, reminding her of the king's warnings. Just as she was about to retreat, a figure emerged from the shadows, causing her to gasp in surprise.

It was an octoboy, with shimmering silver skin and long, flowing tentacles. Maren's heart pounded, her wide eyes filled with both intrigue and apprehension. She tried to swim away, but the octoboy, Levi, swam with agility, easily catching up to her.

"Wait!" he called out gently, extending a tentacle towards her. "Fear not, dear princess. I mean you no harm."

Maren hesitated, her instincts reminding her of the tales she had heard about the savage octomaids. But as she looked into the sincere eyes of Levi, something within her began to question everything she had been taught.

"I am Levi," he continued, his voice soft and soothing. "The stories your people told you about us are false. We are not savages. We have hopes, dreams, and a desire for peace, just like you."

Fate had other plans for Maren. She was destined to challenge the legacy of hatred that had consumed the underwater realm. It was during this particularly fateful encounter that Maren met an Octoboy named Levi, who happened to be the son of Queen Octavia, the formidable leader of the octomaid clan.

Maren's encounter with Levi shattered the preconceived notions she had held all her life. As their paths overlapped, Maren discovered the depth of Levi's noble character and his desire for peace, a stark contrast to the tales she had grown up believing.

When Maren returned home and told Cordelia and her other sister Mist about her experience, they were both shocked and warned her to stay away from the forbidden reef.

Cordelia met her sister's enthusiasm with a stern warning. "You must never swim near the forbidden reef! And please do not associate with such an abomination—it is strictly forbidden to associate with anyone from the Octopeople Clan."

You can’t associate with them, Maren!” Cordelia scolded. “They are an abomination! It is strictly forbidden to associate or mate with anyone from the Octopeople clan!”

Mist, the six eldest sister, chimed in, "Was he cute Maren? Do you want to mate with him?"

Cordelia shot Mist a scathing glare, and then looked back at Maren. "It is an abomination, and we will not tolerate it," she said firmly.

Maren was determined. "We are being judgemental," she said. "The battle between mermaids and octomaids should end. It's time for us to put aside our differences and live in harmony."

Her sisters could only look at each other in disbelief. But Maren was determined to prove them wrong.

Mist then asked Maren if the Octoboy could talk to and summon sharks – adding fuel to the fire.

“You are both so judgmental and biased!” Maren protested. “The battle between mermaids and octomaids should end. Levi was kind and there’s nothing wrong with talking to him!”

Despite her sisters’ warnings, Maren felt determined to keep her friendship with Levi alive. She was not going to let anyone else tell her who she can and cannot talk to. With her head held high, she set out to prove everyone wrong.

Love, a powerful force that transcended even the depths of the ocean, soon blossomed between Maren and Levi. Their forbidden love ignited a glimmer of hope, a spark promising a chance for unity within the vast expanse beneath the waves.

As their affection grew stronger, Maren's perception of their rival enemies began to shift. She questioned the truths fed to her from birth, wondering if a shared future was indeed possible. Maren dared to dream of a world where the mermaids and octomaid clan could coexist in harmony.

And so, their love became a beacon of hope, a force that could potentially bring about a profound change within their underwater realm. As the battle between their respective clans rages on, Maren and Levi must find a way to bridge the gap between their people, to unravel the destructive cycle that has plagued their world for far too long.

But will their unconventional love be enough to conquer centuries of enmity? Can it finally bring the people of the surface world to recognize the beauty that lies beneath the waves? Only time will tell if Aqua and Levi's unwavering love can rewrite the tragic history that has shaped their underwater kingdoms.

"Lets built a utopia together Levi may our love blossom and bring our two Kingdoms together." Maren said.

Chapter 1- Secret meeting

Third Person

Deep in the crystal clear waters of the Atlantic Ocean, a mermaid named Lyra swam gracefully. Her beauty was unmatched, with shimmering green-blue hair that flowed behind her as she moved. Her tail was adorned with iridescent scales that glistened in the sunlight, and her eyes were as green as the seaweed that swayed with the current.

Lyra belonged to a clan of mermaids who guarded the ocean, keeping it safe from harm. They were a peaceful tribe, but they had enemies - the octomaids. These were the most powerful creatures in the ocean, with eight tentacles and a fierce determination to destroy everything in their path.

Lyra had encountered the octomaids before and knew the danger they posed. She had narrowly escaped their attacks, but she had seen many of her fellow mermaids fall victim to their wrath.

One day, while exploring a kelp forest, Lyra heard a distant rumble. At first, she thought it was nothing, but as the sound grew louder, she knew something was wrong. Suddenly, a group of octomaids emerged from the murky depths, their tentacles flailing wildly.

Lyra knew she had to act fast. She drew her trident from its sheath and prepared for battle. With a powerful ******, she sent a bolt of energy toward the octomaids, but they were too quick, dodging her attacks and retaliating with a barrage of their own.

Lyra ducked and weaved, her heart racing as she fought for her life. She swung her trident with all her might, striking one of the octomaids and sending it reeling backward into a coral reef.

With renewed vigor, Lyra pressed on, determined to defeat her foes. She leaped gracefully into the air, twirling and spinning in a graceful dance that left the octomaids bewildered and disoriented.

One by one, Lyra took down her enemies, until only one remained. This octomaid was the leader of the group, the most powerful of them all. But Lyra was not afraid. She dove deep into the water, closing in on the octomaid with lightning-fast speed.

In a final burst of energy, Lyra struck the octomaid with all her might, shattering its shell and sending it spiraling out of control. Exhausted but victorious, Lyra emerged from the water, her trident held aloft in triumph.

From that day forward, Lyra was hailed as a hero among her people. She had vanquished their most fearsome enemy, proving once and for all that the power of the mermaid was not to be underestimated.

A few years later she was betroth to and married to a strong and mighty merman King of the mermaid kingdom. Later giving birth to seven daughters and seven sons. As time past during a mighty war she died in battle at the hands of Queen Otovia leader of the Octopeople kingdom.

Maren, the mermaid princess, Younger Daughter of the late Queen Lyra and King hydra swam through the sparkling blue waters of the ocean with haste.

Her jet black hair, resembling a dark night sky, navy blue tail of a the ocean dept itself, trailed behind her gracefully as she glided through the depths. She was on a quest to meet with someone who held her heart captive, someone whose very existence was forbidden in her world.

Behind her, Cordelia, Maren's older sister, followed closely. A concerned expression played across her regal features as she called out to her sister, her voice carrying through the water. "Where are you going, Maren? We have to help the orcas migrate!"

Maren turned to face Cordelia, her dark eyes shimmering with determination. "I have a promise to keep, sister," she replied, her voice carrying a mixture of longing and desperation. "I'll be back soon, I promise."

Cordelia's gaze softened, understanding the depths of her sister's emotions. "But Maren, you know the rules. Our love with the land-dwelling creatures is forbidden. You are a princess, and I worry about the consequences you may face."

Maren's heart clenched at Cordelia's words, but nothing could sway her from the path she had chosen. She had been enchanted by a young octoboy named Levi, who had captured her heart during one of her secret voyages to the forbidden reefs. They had met under the shelter of a sunken ship, hidden and shielded from their respective worlds.

Her heart pounding with anticipation, Maren continued swimming, her vibrant tail propelling her forward with ease. She couldn't wait for a moment longer to see Levi, to hear his melodious laugh and feel the warmth of his smile.

Finally, after what felt like an eternity, Maren arrived at the familiar sunken ship. The wreckage was a haunting reminder of the remnants of the human world, and beneath it, she would find the one who held her heart. Levi, the octoboy with his dazzling eyes and whimsical charm, waited patiently for her arrival.

Maren's heart raced as she swam around the sunken ship, her tail flicking nervously. She had to find Levi, her love, before anyone discovered their secret rendezvous. It had been weeks since they last saw each other, and the yearning in their hearts had become too much to bear.

As she called out his name with a sense of urgency, Levi suddenly appeared, causing Maren to jump and let out a startled shriek. "Boo," he said with a mischievous grin, clearly enjoying his little game. Maren's fear quickly melted away as the familiar face of her beloved washed over her.

She couldn't help but smile, relieved that Levi was safe and by her side. "Oh, Levi! You scared me. Don't ever do that again," she scolded playfully, placing a hand on his slightly embarrassed face. "Yet, you still managed to take my breath away," she added, her voice filled with affection.

Levi chuckled softly, his vibrant blue eyes shining with adoration. "I'm sorry, my beautiful mermaid princess. I couldn't help myself," he replied, pulling her into his strong embrace. As their lips met in a sweet, lingering kiss, the water seemed to shimmer with their forbidden love.

Time ceased to exist as they held onto one another, cherishing this stolen moment of happiness. Their romance was forbidden, as Maren belonged to the realm of King Hydra, ruler of all the merfolk, and Levi was the son of Queen Octavia, leader of the octomaid tribe. Their clans had a long-standing feud, a bloodshed only adding to the tension.

But Maren and Levi refused to let the hatred of their parents dictate their fate. They believed that love should be the instrument that mended their kingdoms, rather than tearing them apart. They were willing to risk everything, even their own lives, to be together.

Breaking the kiss, Maren looked deeply into Levi's eyes, her voice filled with a sense of urgency. "We have to be careful, Levi. Our Parents mustn't find out about us," she whispered, her voice tinged with a combination of fear and determination.

Levi nodded, his gaze never wavering from Maren. "I know, my princess. We will be cautious, but we must find a way to end this senseless feud. Our love is true, and love has the power to overcome all obstacles," he replied, his voice filled with unwavering devotion.

Maren nodded in agreement, a spark of defiance igniting within her. "Yes, Levi, you're right. Our love is worth fighting for. Together, we can bring peace and unite our kingdoms," she said, determination shimmering in her eyes.

They knew their journey would not be easy, but armed with love, they were ready to face any challenge that lay ahead. Hand in hand, Maren and Levi swam away from the sunken ship, their destinies intertwined, as they ventured towards a future where love conquered all.

Levi held Maren's hand as they swam further away from the sunken ship, exploring the vastness of the ocean together. "I wish we could always be together like this, Maren," Levi said, gazing into her eyes.

Maren's heart swelled with affection for Levi, but she couldn't escape the reality of their forbidden love. "I know, Levi, but our worlds are so different. My responsibilities as a princess and your life as a Prince to the octomaid Clan... it's not an easy path to travel," she replied, her voice filled with sadness.

Levi tightened his grip on her hand, refusing to let go. "I don't care about all that, Maren. Love knows no boundaries, no restrictions. Our hearts beat as one, and that's all that matters."

Maren looked at Levi, her eyes shining with longing. She knew he was right, but breaking the rules would come with consequences they couldn't ignore.

Suddenly, they heard a loud splash, followed by the sound of distressed orcas in the distance. Maren's heart sank, realizing she was running out of time if she wanted to help them migrate.

"I have to go, Levi," she said, her voice filled with determination. "Please understand. We'll find a way to be together, I promise."

Levi nodded, his eyes filled with both love and understanding. "I'll wait for you, Maren. No matter how long it takes."

With a heavy heart, Maren swam away from Levi, back towards her responsibilities as a princess. She knew she had to put her duty to her kingdom first, but the pain of leaving Levi behind felt unbearable.

As Maren arrived at the location where the orcas were struggling, she summoned her powers and used her melodic voice to guide them towards safer waters. Hours passed, and exhaustion took its toll on her, but seeing the orcas swim away safely brought her a sense of fulfillment.

Finally, as the sun began to set, Maren made her way back to the sunken ship where she had left Levi. Tears welled up in her eyes as she realized she had to say goodbye once again.

Levi appeared from behind a coral reef, noticing her turmoil. He swam up to her, gently wiping away her tears. "It's okay, Maren. We will find a way," he reassured her.

Maren nodded, a glimmer of hope shining through her tears. "We will, Levi, I believe that. Until then, we must be patient and wait for the right time."

With a final embrace and a promise of everlasting love, Maren and Levi swam in separate directions, their hearts connected across the vastness of the ocean.

And so, their forbidden love continued to burn brightly within them, fueling their determination to find a way to be together, no matter the obstacles that stood in their path.

Reluctantly, they began their journey back to their respective homes, their hearts heavy with longing. As Maren swam towards the palace, she could already feel her father's disapproving gaze upon her.

"Maren! Where have you been? We have been searching for you everywhere!" King Hydra's booming voice echoed through the grand hall. Maren glanced at Cordelia, who stood by their father's side, her expression a mix of concern and disappointment.

"I apologize, Father, but I had important matters to attend to," Maren said, meeting her father's stern gaze with unwavering determination.

King Hydra's eyes softened slightly, his grip on his trident loosening. "You know the orcas rely on your guidance during their migration. It is your responsibility as a princess."

Maren nodded, feeling the weight of their expectations settle upon her shoulders. "I understand, Father. I will make it up to them, I promise."

As she retreated to her private quarters, Maren couldn't help but feel a surge of excitement and hope. Levi's words echoed in her mind, propelling her forward. She knew that change wouldn't come easily, but she was willing to fight for their love and a future where merfolk and octobeings could coexist peacefully.

Little did she know, Levi was just as determined. As he slinked back into the shadows of his underwater kingdom, he began formulating a plan to bring their worlds together, even if it meant facing the wrath of both kingdoms.

Their love may have been forbidden, but Maren and Levi were determined to make it bloom amidst the depths of their vast ocean. With each passing day, their bond strengthened, and they refused to let anything stand in their way.

"No one can keep us apart my beautiful Maren." ~Levi~

Chapter 2 - Caught

First Person:

Maren swam gracefully through the ocean, her shimmering blue tail gliding effortlessly through the water. The echoes of her father's scolding from yesterday evening still lingered in her mind. She had neglected her duties of helping the orcas migrate and was reminded of that fact with every movement she made.

The young mermaid princess eventually decided to head to her usual hang out beneath an old shipwreck. She hoped to find her secret boyfriend, Levi the octoboy prince of the Octomaids, waiting for her. If her family ever found out about their relationship, Maren knew they would forbid her from spending any more time with him.

As Maren approached the sunken ship, she noticed several Octomaids laughing and conversing with Levi. Flirting, too, she realized with a pang of jealousy. Levi scolded them, telling them in a firm voice, "Girls, are you forgetting I am your prince? This behavior is strictly inappropriate!"

Maren couldn't help but giggle as she watched her beloved from afar, proudly aware that he only had eyes for her. She waited until the Octomaids had finally departed before approaching Levi and giving a twirl to gain his attention.

"Good day, my lovely Maren," Levi said, kissing her hand. "The sea is far too peaceful to be graced by your presence."

Maren giggled as they swam together. Their love was forbidden due to their species' centuries-long war, but Maren refused to let that stop her from enjoying these precious moments.

As Maren and Levi swam together, their tails gracefully gliding through the water, Levi turned to his beloved princess with a solemn expression on his face.

"Maren," Levi began, his voice tinged with worry, "ever since the mating season of the Octopeople started, young octomaids have been approaching me. They are seeking a mate, but I can only think of you."

Maren listened intently, her vibrant eyes reflecting curiosity and confusion. "Levi," she responded, her melodic voice carrying a tint of innocence, "I've never felt the urge to mate. Maybe I'm just a late bloomer?"

Levi's eyes filled with understanding as he gently took her hand in his. "Under the light of the moon, the urge to mate becomes powerful. It's something that our kind cannot resist. But for you, my dear Maren, it is different. You are a young mermaid princess, and your behavior is strictly governed by tradition."

Maren sighed, her expression pensive. "I know," she whispered, "every full moon, my older sister would hide in an underwater cave to escape the pull of the moon. The only ones allowed to roam free are my older brothers, who each rule over their respective parts of the sea. My sister and I are destined to be betrothed, and I fear that day is coming soon."

Levi's face saddened at the thought of Maren being betrothed, knowing the history of their species. For centuries, mermaids and Octopeople had been at war, and crossing the boundaries of their respective worlds would be considered an abomination.

But Maren's love for Levi was undeniable, and the words tumbled out before she could stop herself. "Levi, if I ever start to feel the effects of the mating moon, I want to mate with you," she confessed, her voice filled with determination and vulnerability.

Levi blushed, his cheeks turning a deep shade of crimson. "I'd be honored, my lovely Maren," he whispered, his voice filled with love. "May the moon bless us with beautiful young ones if that day ever comes."

Maren and Levi continued to swim together, their love and devotion tugging at their hearts. They knew that their union would be seen as unconventional and forbidden, but they remained hopeful that one day love and understanding would prevail, bridging the gap between their worlds and bringing harmony to the depths of the ocean.

"So what's you kingdom like Levi." Maren asked curiously tilting her head.

"As much as I love you my dear Maren, I'm afraid, I cannot tell you what it's like in our kingdom; that would be considered treason. We cannot share information with an outsider," he replied solemnly.

He wrapped his tentacles around her waist and caressed her face affectionately as he spoke.

Maren nodded, but still inquired, "But what do you do there? Are there sharks and manta rays?"

Prince Levi replied, "Yes, my responsibility is to take care of the manta rays and sharks. They're friendly creatures, only aggressive when they're hungry or feel threatened."

Maren said, "My father said that sharks and manta rays are unclean creatures."

"That's untrue," Prince Levi replied sadly. "Our clans have judged each other for centuries. I just want this war between octopeople and mermaids to end."

Just then, two manta ray swam by and Maren gasped in fright. Prince Levi recognized them and realized they belonged to his mother, the Queen.

Before he had time to react, his mother appeared before them.

"Levi, there's this young Octo-girl I've been wanting you to meet," she said, before catching sight of Maren.

The Queen's eyes darkened. Her tentacles clenched tightly around the young princess's body as she demanded, "What is this smelly fishy little mermaid doing here with my son?"

"What is this Mermaid doing here?" she asked Levi angrily.

"Mother, please let her go-this is Maren; she is the daughter of the King," Levi answered in defense of Maren.

"Your father killed my husband-what are you doing here with my son?" the Queen asked Maren.

Too frightened to speak, Maren remained silent.

"Mother, please let her go; she is just a friend," Levi pleaded with his mother.

"Friend?" Maren asked, feeling hurt.

"You are to stay away from this young mermaid. Is that understood?" she said sternly, before finally releasing Maren from her grasp.

"Yes, Mother," he said, his face sad.

Maren swam away, her tears mixing with the sea as she carried away her pain and anguish as she swam away in fear.

Back at the octomaids Castle Queen Octavia was furious, for she knew that not only did Maren belong to another race, but her father, the King of the Sea, had also killed Levi's father a long time ago.

"Leviathan! You are to find an octogirl to mate with and no filthy mermaid. The mating moon is fast approaching and you will find an octogirl mate, whether you like it or not."

"No, mother. Maren is different. She is nothing like her people. I will mate with Maren."

With an enraged slap of her tentacles, Octavia scolded him, "How dare you defy me! Find an octogirl mate or you will suffer great consequences!"

"Her Parents are responsible for your fathers death, your my only heir and someday you will on this thrown and I won't have this bloodline taint by an abomination." The Queen said.

Levi, not willing to give up on his love, swam away to his chamber in the castle. As he escaped, the young octomaids of the Castle kept pursuing him, try to comfort him offering to join him in his chamber, but he ignored them and reached his room. There, he assumed human form and decided to head up to the surface.

On the shore, Levi sat and thought about his beloved Maren. He was determined to make his mother understand the strength of his love and to prove that Maren was different from her people. He knew that a great task lay ahead of him, but his heart was filled with the courage to fight for his right to love.

On this particular afternoon, he found himself sitting on the shore, lost in thought.

Levi, with his vibrant tan skin that glowed in the starlight, was the son of a powerful Octomaid. His parents as a child had taught him about the world he lived in and to respect the creatures of the sea.

However, his mother had warned him to stay away from mermaids, but that all changed when he met Maren. His mother had said that Octopeople were the advanced and superior species with technological advancement, while the mermaids were centuries behind them. Furthermore, she said that Octopeople had the power to shape shift into human form while the mermaids were merely 'self-absorbed defects and sad excuse for species.

He wanted to show Maren their world hoping someday to put an end to the century feud between their kingdoms.

Levi returned home where his mother stood waiting for him. "What is it now mother?" He asked a bit frustrated.

"I am extremely disappointed in you. The kingdom has been buzzing with gossip about you and that filthy little Mermaid Maren." his mother said.

"I'm absolutely mortified, the prince of the Octopeople Clan, frantizing with a mermaid." She gasped.

"But mother, I have not done anything wrong!" Levi said.

"I will not tolerate you fraternizing with a dumb mermaid, no matter how beautiful her scales may be. It's time for you to settle down. Now meet Aqua, your betrothed." She gestured towards an Octogirl swimming nearby.

"Greetings, Your Highness. It is an honor to meet you." Aqua said.

Levi reluctantly accepted the arranged marriage, knowing that it was either this or face the wrath of his mother.

He spent the next week swimming alongside Aqua and the other Octogirls, pretending to be happy while secretly missing Maren.

Finally, the week ended and Levi bid farewell to Aqua and returned to the palace. Queen Octavia was waiting for him and she questioned him about the time he spent with Aqua.

"Leviathan, did you enjoy your time with Aqua?" she asked.

"Yes, mother. We had a pleasant time together." he lied.

"Good. I can see that you've chosen wisely, and now you must make your decision. Will you take Aqua as your mate, or find someone else? The choice is yours." she said.

Levi knew that his mother meant business and that he must make his decision soon. He thought of Maren and his heart ached, but he also knew that if he was caught fraternizing with her again, his mother would force him to marry Aqua. In the end, he made the difficult decision to Stat away from her.

Maren Pov:

I swam through the turquoise waters, my tail shimmering in the sunset. The ocean was my sanctuary, filled with beauty and peace. But today, my heart was heavy with fear and sadness. I knew that venturing into forbidden territory to see my secret boyfriend, Levi, was a mistake.

Queen Octavia, caught us together and she was furious. When she asked about me, Levi said I was just a friend. Tears filled my eyes as I heard this. He had promised to love me forever, yet here he was denying our relationship to protect himself and his people.

Queen Octavia's tentacles then clamped down on me, trapping me in her grip. She warned Levi not to see me, saying that my father was responsible for the death of her husband, who happened to be Levi's father.

I fought back with all my strength, managing to fight free and swim away. As I swam back to my kingdom, I couldn't stop the tears from streaming down my face.

When I eventually returned home, my father saw the suction cup bruises on my arm and asked where I had been. But I lied, telling him I had just encountered a rogue octopus who was trying to eat one of the salmon in the area.

My father stared at me skeptically, but seemed to accept my explanation. "You must be careful, Maren," he said, "The Octopus Kingdom can be a dangerous place."

I nodded solemnly, knowing that it was more than just the Octopus Kingdom we had to worry about.

Heading to my bed chamber, I continued to cry. I knew it was wrong to be with Levi, but the thought of never seeing him again made me so sad.

The following days passed and I noticed Levi distancing himself from me. He barely acknowledged my presence and would be seen frolicking with other Octogirls from his kingdom.

My heart broke knowing that we could no longer be together, and I swam off to the deepest depths of the ocean and cried until there were no tears left.
