Trust Or Power

CHAPTER 1: Mikey

I stand up straight with my hands in my pockets in an attempt to look taller and more intimidating in front of my subordinates, like Kenny, my vice president. I inhale deeply, and announce the sick traitor and publicly expose them to the rest of the gang. The traitor freaks out and tries to run. I roll my eyes uninterested in the current situation. I would rather be spending time with Lara than dealing with the traitor. I look over to Lara with a bored voice “go deal with him.” She nods and struts over to him and begins to beat him. I point to Lara beating the traitor “this is what happens when you betray Taiken. You are dismissed!” The rest of the gang yelled yes simultaneously and dispaned. Lara however, still continued to beat the traitor. “Alright enough!” I yelled. She kicked the guy's body once more then smiled at me cheerfully and walked off. Like the sass she has isn’t already enough.

CHAPTER 2: Lara

I watched as Mikey announced the traitor and he made a run for it.  I looked to Mikey for approval to take him down. Mikey looked at me clearly uninterested, and told me to show what happens to traitors.  I jumped down from the platform and kicked the traitor in the back of his head, pinned him on the ground and proceeded to beat the shit out of him repeatedly. I was exhilarated and enjoyed the opportunity to deal with this traitorous bastard. I took the pleasure in punishing the traitor and wished I could encounter traitors more frequently. I heard Mikey yell something behind me and everyone else started leaving. He told me to stop so I stood up and kicked the guy once more for good measure. I turned and smiled at Mikey before heading home.

CHAPTER 3: mikey

I watched as Lara walked away, a satisfied grin on her face. As I saw her departing figure, a wave of conflicting emotions washed over me. I had always admired Lara's fierce loyalty and unwavering dedication to the gang. Her ability to handle difficult situations with confidence and brutality was a testament to her strength.

However, at that moment, I couldn't help but feel a sense of unease. The way she revelled in punishing the traitor made me question the darkness that lurked within her. While I understood the necessity of dealing with threats, I had always strived to maintain a balance between a gang that protects rather than attacks.

As the rest of the gang dispersed, I found myself standing alone, deep in thought. The adrenaline rush from the confrontation slowly faded, replaced by a lingering sense of doubt. I had to address this issue, not only for the sake of the gang but also for the person I cared about.

With a determined expression, I decided to confront Lara about her behaviour. I knew that open communication was crucial, and I couldn't let our relationship be clouded by unspoken concerns. I made my way home, preparing my thoughts for the upcoming conversation.

Later that evening, I found Lara sitting on the rooftop of our hideout, gazing at the city lights. I took a deep breath, gathered my courage, and approached her. The wind carried my words as I spoke softly, "Lara, we need to talk."

Lara turned to face me, her eyes revealing a mix of curiosity and confusion. "What's on your mind, Mikey?" she asked, her voice tinged with genuine concern.

I hesitated for a moment, choosing my words carefully. "I couldn't help but notice how you handled the traitor today. It was brutal, Lara, even for someone in our line of work."

A flicker of defiance flashed in Lara's eyes, but she quickly composed herself before taking a second to think. "Mikey, he betrayed us, put us all at risk. He deserved what he got."

I sighed, trying to remain calm. "I understand the gravity of his actions, but there's a line between justice and vengeance. We have to be careful not to lose ourselves in the darkness."

Lara's expression softened, and she reached out to place a hand on my arm. "Mikey, I've always had your back, and I always will. I know the difference between right and wrong. But sometimes, justice requires a heavy hand."

I nodded, appreciating her loyalty but still concerned. "I trust you, Lara. I just worry about the toll it takes on you. We need to find a way to maintain our principles without losing sight of our humanity."

Lara smiled gently, her eyes filled with understanding. "You're right, Mikey. I appreciate your perspective. Let's promise each other that we'll keep each other grounded, okay? We'll remind one another of the path we set out on together." I felt weird after she said that as if she was… lying?

I felt a weight lift from my shoulders as I reached out to clasp Lara's hand, shrugging off the previous thought with glee taking over my face. "I promise, Lara. We'll face the challenges ahead together, without losing sight of who we are." after i had said that we both headed our separate ways.

CHAPTER 4: lara

I walked away with a satisfied grin on my face. Well that was fun I thought as I made my way to Tenjiku, the gang I'm actually loyal to.

I walked in the front door only to be blocked by some new looking members who were quite short. “Who are you little girl?” he said, trying to intimidate me. “Haha” I bent down so I was the same height as him. “Who are you talking to, little boy? "I said with a grin on my face, mocking him.

He swung his fist at me so I kicked him in the face and continued to liams, the leader of this damn place they call home, as the other newbies ran off.

I stride into liams office and get a glare from the new guys that had clearly run here to get Kale, the supposed “big guy” to come beat me up. “ha you wimps couldn't take me on so you came to get ‘le to beat me up” I looked over to see Kale snickering at my comment.

I then turned to their confused faces.

“le?” One of the guys said but was interrupted when liam spoke up”oh Lara you're here, took you long enough. I see you've already met the new members.” He said with a sly expression. “Yes, I actually think there are a bunch of wimps who can't take a hit.”

I sat down on the couch next to kale. Liam eyed the new guys and said “oh really then do you think they should leave?” I looked at him and grinned “definitely.” After I said that, Liam kicked them out with no hesitation.

I left after an hour or so of filling in liam on what's going on in Taiken. I decided to head to the Taiken captain’s hideout where I ended up having an oddly long talk with mikey.

As Mikey continued sharing his thoughts and concerns, ranting into the night, I struggled to stay engaged in the conversation. My mind drifted to other concerns. My true intentions and my loyalty to Tenjiku, the rival gang, was almost taunting to Mikey. The allure of power drew me closer to their ranks in Tenjiku, and I couldn't help but entertain the idea of finally revealing my true intentions. The horrors of the rest of Taiken’s faces brought joy to my eyes just thinking about it.

Mikey's words seemed distant, his worries trivial in comparison to the opportunities that awaited me elsewhere. My desire for more control and authority clouded my judgement, making it challenging to empathise with his concerns about maintaining a balance between justice and vengeance. It was boring me to death.

However, as Mikey spoke passionately about our ‘shared’ principles and the importance of staying true to ourselves, a ping of guilt washed over me. I remembered the companionship we had built, the trust I had nurtured over the years, and the bond we shared as partners in the gang even if it was all fake to begin with. Deep down, I knew that betraying Mikey and Taiken would come at a cost. It would mean severing connections with the friends I had made to fulfil my role. It would mean sacrificing a genuine bond for the promise of power.

As Mikey concluded his monologue, he looked at me expectantly, waiting for a response. I took a moment to collect my thoughts, the internal conflict raging within me. At that moment, I made a decision.

"Mikey," I began, my voice filled with uncertainty of where my loyalty truly lies at this point, after a small pause "You're right, Mikey. I appreciate your perspective. Let's promise each other that we'll keep each other grounded, okay?” I said even though it was a complete lie. I didn’t want to lose what I had with Mikey even if it almost was an inconvenience.

Mikey's eyes lit up with a glimmer of hope, his faith in our bond reignited. He reached out and held my hand, a silent gesture of understanding and forgiveness.

"I promise, Lara. We'll face the challenges ahead together, without losing sight of who we are."

At that moment I had made up my mind that I'm betraying Mikey and my true loyalty lies with Izana.

CHAPTER 5: Mikey

I watched Lara closely as she spoke, sensing a hint of hesitation in her voice. However, the promise she made seemed genuine enough, and a sense of relief wash over me. Perhaps my concerns had been unfounded, and our bond was stronger than I had imagined.

With a genuine smile on my face, I squeezed Lara's hand. "Thank you, Lara. I believe in us, and I know we can overcome any obstacles that come our way."

As we sat there, engaged in a conversation that felt more real than ever, I couldn't shake the feeling that something was off. Lara's words lingered in my mind, their weight growing heavier with each passing second. I needed to trust my instincts and dig deeper to uncover the truth.

The next day, I decided to do some investigating. I discreetly observed Lara's interactions and noticed her frequent communication with individuals I didn't recognize. The secrecy surrounding these conversations only fueled my suspicions further.

Unable to contain my curiosity any longer, I approached Kenny, the vice president of my gang and my best friend, seeking guidance and answers. Kenny had always been a figure of wisdom and trust, and I hoped he could shed light on the situation.

Finding Kenny alone in the lounge, I took a deep breath and expressed my concerns. "Kenny, something doesn't feel right. I fear that Lara may be hiding something from me, and I don't know if I can trust her completely."

Kennys gaze softened as he listened intently. After a brief moment of silence, he sighed and leaned back in his chair. "Mikey, I had my suspicions as well, but I couldn't bring myself to voice them. It pains me to say this, but Lara's true loyalty lies with Tenjiku, our rival gang."

Shock washed over me as kennys words echoed in my mind. The weight of betrayal settled heavily upon my shoulders, threatening to crush the trust I had placed in Lara. Yet, amidst the pain and disappointment, I knew I had to confront her and seek the truth.

Determined, I made my way back to our hideout, my heart pounding with each step. As I approached Lara, I couldn't help but feel a mix of emotions—anger, sadness, and an overwhelming need for closure.

"Lara," I called out, my voice filled with a mixture of hurt and determination. "We need to talk, now."

CHAPTER 6: Lara

As I heard Mikey's voice, a sinking feeling crept into my heart. I knew this day would come, the day when my web of lies would unravel before me. I turned to face Mikey, my expression a mask of sorrow and regret.

"Mikey," I began, my voice wavering with a mixture of guilt and anguish, "I... I have something to confess."

Mikey's eyes bored into mine, searching for answers. He deserved the truth, even if it meant losing everything we had built together. Taking a deep breath, I revealed the extent of my deception.

"I'm so sorry, Mikey," I whispered, my voice barely audible. "I've been loyal to Tenjiku all along. I joined Taiken to gather information, to undermine you and your gang. I thought I could handle it, that I could protect you from the shadows. But it's become too much, and I can't bear to lie to you any longer."

Mikey's face contorted with a mix of shock, anger, and betrayal. He took a step back, as if physically wounded by my words. The silence between us was suffocating, our once unbreakable bond shattered by the weight of my confession.

Finally, Mikey found his voice, his words aced with a pain I had never seen before. "Lara, how could you? How could you deceive me like this? I trusted you with everything, and you played me for a fool."

Tears welled up in my eyes as I reached out to touch Mikey's arm, pleading for forgiveness. "Mikey, I never wanted to hurt you. I got caught up in the power and influence Tenjiku promised me. But I realise now that what we had was real, and I never should have jeopardised it."

Mikey pulled away from my touch, his gaze filled with a mixture of hurt and anger. "It's too late, Lara. The damage is done. I can't trust you anymore, and I can't be a part of this deception. You need to leave."

I watched as Mikey turned his back on me, his footsteps fading away. The weight of my actions settled heavily upon me, leaving me to face the consequences of my choices alone.

I stood frozen in place, tears falling down my cheek. What have I done, I thought before correcting myself. No, I made my choice long ago. I'm with tenjiku now.after calming myself I packed my things and left my taiken uniform on mikey's desk chair. Well i guess this is goodbye mikey from now on we're enemies. I smirked, regaining my composure and left for the tenjiku base.

CHAPTER 7: mikey

As I turned my back on lara pain and sadness washed over me,how could i trust her like she was my own sister but the whole time she's been working for liam, why him of all people. I left calling Kenny to tell all the captains for a meeting. About an hour later I arrived at the place I told everyone to meet.

“Alright, this meeting is to address a traitor who I have already exposed and kicked out,”I said , hiding the pain I was feeling. “Who's the traitor?”Smiley, the captain of 4th division said with his usual smile. “ um well the traitor is… lara''i said with hesitation. Blake 1st division's captain just laughed '' nice joke mikey real funny”, i remained in silence as the realisation hit the rest of them.i could tell it hit them almost as hard as it hit me. I pushed aside my pain and grit my teeth. “From now on Lara, a former captain of 6th division, is a traitor and enemy of taiken” Before we end the meeting we will be fighting the tenjiku gang in two days. I finished leaving everyone with their thoughts.

It's been two days since laras betrayal and everyone is on edge especially since the fight with tenjiku is today. Alright forget lara she's a traitor and cannot be forgiven, im sorry lara. I turn and stand on the stage and start yelling “alright taiken it's time to go beat tenjikus asses!” the gang just yells back “yeah!” I said, “Then let's go!” They answer back again “yeah!”. After my little speech we head to where we are gonna fight tenjiku, as we get there I stare in horror to see lara standing next to izana wearing the tenjiku uniform standing frozen in place “l-lara?” i stuttered “ oh looks like you did show up after all” she smirks. She looks completely different and completely unaffected by the fact that she betrayed us.

CHAPTER 8: lara

As I stood there, wearing the Tenjiku uniform and standing alongside Izana, I could feel Mikey's gaze piercing through me. His voice, filled with disbelief and hurt, echoed in my ears. I tried to maintain my composure, reminding myself of the power and influence that awaited me as a member of Tenjiku. But deep down, I couldn't shake the slightest hint of guilt that consumed me.

Mikey's shock slowly transformed into anger as he stepped forward, his voice laced with betrayal. "Lara, how could you? How could you join our enemies, the very people we fought against together?"

I took a deep breath, struggling to find the words to explain myself. "Mikey, I made a choice,I know I'm living with it, so do you, so just suck it up and fight me.

Mikey's eyes narrowed, his voice filled with bitterness. "You betrayed us, Lara. You threw away everything we had for personal gain."

liam, standing beside me, smirked.

Mikey's gaze hardened as he stepped forward, determination evident in his voice. "Lara, I won't let you destroy everything we've built. We may have been partners once, but now we're enemies."

The clash between Taiken and Tenjiku began, and the battlefield quickly descended into chaos. Amidst the flurry of punches and kicks, I found myself facing Mikey, the person I had once called a friend. Our eyes locked, and a mixture of sadness and anger filled the air between us.

CHAPTER 9: lara

Mikey and I exchanged blows, each strike fueling the intensity of our rivalry. The pain of my betrayal lingered.

As our fight intensified, memories of our past flashed before my eyes, taunting me with what could have been. The bond we had shared, the trust we had built, now lay shattered on the battlefield.

With every punch and kick, I could see the conflict within Mikey's eyes. His loyalty to Taiken clashed with his desire to understand the reasons behind my betrayal.

The battle raged on, our fists colliding with a ferocity then suddenly  I turned to see Mikey fighting liam. After mikey and liam exaganed a few blows liam pulled out a gun but was stopped by kale.

As I looked around to see more people that I could beat up, I noticed jake holding the gun liam had earlier and was aiming it at kale. “You bastard!” i yelled as i went bolting for jake to stop him but i was to late he had shot kale non fatal but he still had the gun aimed so i tackled him and started beating him to death while repeating “you bastard” once i had killed jake via beating him to death i stood up and walked away emotionless.

CHAPTER 10: mikey

After that day when kale almost died and she had killed jake she was never seen again until the day of taikens disbandment.

It was about the afternoon when she showed up at the shrine clearly not looking for me which made me kinda sad.

I approached her trying to get the reason why she betrayed not just me but all of us in taiken. “ hey lara been a while hasn't it?”

As i said that she tilted her head down to look at me. And with a fake smile she said “yeah it has, hasn't it mikey.” At this point I had already forgiven her for what she had done so I sat down beside her and decided to ask straight to her face why she left.

She turned to me and simply said “ it was all to protect my brother but now i don't even know if he's still alive or not.”as she said that tears started flowing down her face but she continued to smile at me. “Um lara” i said cautiously

“ yeah?” she said, looking back at the ground. “What's your brother's name?”I said while looking back at the ground too. “His name is kakucho”

She said burying her face into her knees.

“ Wait, is that why you killed jake because he shot kale?!” I was completely surprised at what I had just discovered.

“Lara!” I said hoping to cheer her up with the news I had. She looked at me now clearly devastated by the mention of her “dead” brother.

“Your brother is alive!”I said feeling somewhat pleased that I was the one who told her that. “What?!” she said as her face lit up with this new found information provided by me, the one and only hehe.

"What do you mean he's alive? Are you sure?" Lara asked, her eyes wide with a mix of hope and disbelief.

I nodded, a small smile forming on my face. "I received intel recently that kale was injured but survived the encounter with jake. He's been in hiding, recovering from his injuries."

Lara's emotions seemed to shift from devastation to relief and back again. "I... I don't know what to say," she whispered, tears still streaming down her face. "I thought he was gone, and I blamed myself for not being there to protect him."

"It's not your fault," I reassured her, placing a comforting hand on her shoulder. "You did what you thought was necessary to protect him, and sometimes, circumstances lead us down difficult paths."

Lara wiped her tears away, trying to compose herself. "Thank you, Mikey. You have no idea what this means to me."

"I'm glad I could bring you some comfort," I said sincerely. "But, Lara, you have to understand that even if your brother is alive, it doesn't excuse the choices you made. You hurt a lot of people in Taiken."

Lara nodded, her expression heavy with guilt.

Lara took a deep breath, determination shining through her tears. "I want to make things right, Mikey. I want to rebuild the trust I lost and find a way to protect Taiken, even if it means staying away from kale for now."

"That's a step in the right direction," I said, proud of her resolve. "We'll need to discuss this with the other captains, but I believe some of them will be willing to give you a second chance."

Lara nodded gratefully. "Thank you for not giving up on me, Mikey. I know I have a lot to prove, but I'm willing to do whatever it takes to earn back your trust and the trust of the gang."

From that day on, Lara worked tirelessly to make amends with the members of Taiken. She proved her dedication by protecting the gang from outside threats and supporting them in any way she could.

Although it took time, most of the gang members eventually accepted Lara back into the fold.

As for Lara and me, we remained cautious yet supportive friends. The bond we once shared had been damaged

The rivalry between Taiken and Tenjiku continued, but Lara refused to take part in the conflict against her former gang. Instead, she focused on protecting Taiken and keeping them safe from harm, even if it meant confronting her own brother, Kakucho.

As for kale, he remained in hiding, trying to recover from his injuries and deal with the revelation that his sister had betrayed him and joined their rival gang. He struggled with conflicting emotions, torn between his loyalty to Tenjiku and his love for his sister.

CHAPTER 10.5: you

As the years passed, the rivalry between Taiken and Tenjiku persisted, but it became less personal for Lara.

Until one day the final fight happened and taiken won.

CHAPTER 11: Lara

It's been a good three months now and we have a new rival gang in the area that we need to get rid of and so i went over to their base and beat the living daylights out of half their men and declared war and so in two days we'll fight with this new rival gang called valhalla and we're gonna win.

“ You're a fool as always, Lara,” Ken said, visibly annoyed. “And why would you say that “kenny? '' I said while cracking a wide grin across my face. “ You little i'm going to strangle you” ken said as he started chasing after me “oo let me join in” mikey said as childist as ever. As me and Mikey ran off from Ken giggling, the rest of the captains were relaxing.

“Jeez you're really good at running aren't you, you little punks” ken said as he held us. “ ok ok im sorry can you let us go now?” I said out of breath.

“Fine but next time I won't go so easy on you.”

“Easy on us that's a lie you almost killed me and mikey!” I said , sticking my tongue out at ken. “ yeah!” Mikey said copying me. “ Alright, that's it, it's time for you to die!” Ken said, grabbing us again. “ alright that's enough you three we need to get ready for the fight today” toby said “ oh thank god toby you're our saviour!” I said I was being all childish like mikey.
