Hunt Me With Love
Episode 1
Night came with million of stars spread across the sky, serene and quiet as it is. Kassi sat at her house front porch accompanied with her friend Samantha. It had been years since they hanged out together until Sam's parents moved to another city. Kassi remembered they both were only thirteen when they got seperated. It has been five years now and somehow Sam decided to move back to the hometown. She came back alone without her parents. Back to where she remembered a place of happy memories.
Kassi
So when did you come back?
Kassi
What makes you return?
Kassi
Don't get me wrong..I'm just curious..you know..
Sam
I didn't like it over there. I didn't like the city life..I'm used to this place..
Kassi
Well, you're always welcome to come back to this town, Sam.
Kassi
What about your parents? Are they coming too?
Sam
I'm afraid not..they're busy and they pretty much loved the new enviroment. They got adapted to the life there really fast..
Kassi
Why didn't you contact me when you are away? I mean you didn't even write me a letter..
Sam
I'd never thought I was much of a friend to you...we went to the same school and studied in the same class and played together. I didn't think much of it...It's just as it is. But when I came back here..I remembered you. You were the nicest girl I knew, Kassi..
Sam
That's why I came by to say hi to you..
Their eyes met and locked with each other. There was silence in between them at that moment. Kassi felt something weird about Sam but she couldn't figure what it was. Sam blinked and gave out a small laughter as she looked away from Kassi.
Sam
You got prettier since I last saw you... Do you know that?
Kassi
Come on, stop it. I'm still the same old me..
Kassi
Well, what about you? Look at you! You've cut your hair. Looking pretty cool and all...
Kassi smiled. While by her side, Sam caught herself gazing at Kassi again. Sam was mesmerize by Kassi's beauty. As time passed through those five years, Sam saw the changes in Kassi towards womanhood now.
Sam
Nah..I was just kidding. You still look the same to me.
Kassi
I knew it ! I almost believe it when you say that I'm pretty.
Sam
Well ..almost pretty but not yet.
The front door creaked open and there stood a woman figure at the door.
Kassi's mother
Do you girls need anything?
Kassi
No, mom. We are fine.
Kassi's mother
Alright then, I'm going to bed now.
Kassi's mother
Oh! Sam, are you sleeping over tonight?
Sam
Nope, Mrs Lee. I'm leaving soon. No worries.
Kassi's mother
Well...it's quite late for a young lady to be on her own. Are you sure? And where are you staying now that you're back in town?
Sam
Mom and Dad still have that old cabin near the mountain, so I'll be staying there for a while..
Kassi's mother
Oh my! I'm surprised. I thought your parents had sold that lot as they were moving out at that time.
Sam
They didn't. They sold our house..but not the cabin though..
Kassi's mother
If that's the case it's good to have you back, Sam.
Kassi's mother
I'm going upstairs now. Good night, girls.
Kassi
I'll see you tomorrow?
Kassi
Have you meet up our friends yet ?
Sam
No. You're the first I look up for since I came. Why?
Kassi
They are so gonna freak out when they know you're back ! Let's meet up at the coffee shop in town. Tomorrow 4pm.
Kassi
Yes. They. Jessy. Edry. Hans.
Sam
Umm..I'm not sure if I can make it, Kassi.
Kassi
Oh, come on. Don't be such a spoil sport.
Sam
Fine. I'll be there. See you tomorrow.
Sam stood up and made her way to the car. Kassi who is still standing at the porch waved goodbye and disappeared into the house. She went up the stairs with thoughts to herself.
Kassi
This is gonna be so exciting! Wait till the rest knows about Sam. Okay, who should I call first tomorrow morning ?
Sam drove past the trees along the dark road, heading towards the cabin. Upon reaching the shack, she slumped her body onto the old sofa.
They. She thought to herself.
Sam
I remember them. I remember them very well, Kassi..
Episode 2
4pm at the coffe shop, all of them settled at a table with drinks served by the waiter. The afternoon appeared to be humid, their table placed under the ceiling fan, which spun in full speed doesn't make the air any comfortable. But that didn't matter to the band of friends. They kept chatting lively through the moment.
Hans
I'm gonna say something... but promise me all of you won't go crazy. Okay?
Edry
It can't be that bad.
Hans
My dad came home yesterday and was talking to my mom in the kitchen. I overheard their conversation.
Hans
You know the town up north. There's a gruesome incident which happened in their town. Some hikers found a dead body
Hans
at the foot of the mountain. Or should I say ...body parts to be exact.
Sam too was taken aback by the information. But she kept silent and listened.
Hans
I'm serious! I swear I heard it right.
Kassi
Anyone read the news ?
jessy
I'll google the news.
Jessy took out her cell phone and started typing.
jessy
It says here in the news there was an incident which occurred a week ago. They said a young male victim was found half eaten and some of the body parts were missing. It states here again that the police are investigating the case. And some residents believed it could have been an attack by the wolves or tigers.
Kassi
Oh my god... This is dreadful.

I don't think those animals did it.
Edry
It must've been some psycho cannibal on the loose in this area. We've grown up in this place and so far there's no such occurrence for as long as I can remember. And there's no tigers or wolves in the mountain.
jessy
That's right. I mean we've gone camping at the mountains for dozens of time. Look! We're still alive, aren't we?
jessy
And my parents and grandparents never even once said anything about wolves or tigers around the mountain area.
Kassi
Guys... Even if there is no predator animals, there's a possibility somewhere out there, a psycho is on the loose. Someone just got murdered, guys.
Hans
Listen. It may not happen to me, but what if it happens to my sisters. Or my mom or dad. Or any of you?
Kassi turned to Sam. Her face shows the worry in her mind.
Sam turned her sight towards Kassi. She looked at her blankly.
Kassi
I don't think you should be staying at the cabin at all.
Kassi
It's... It's dangerous. Furthermore, you're all alone out there.
Sam laughed nervously. Secretly, she liked the concern in Kassi's eyes when she spoke to her. It made her feel cared for. Sam wished it was more than just a reaction. She wanted to be loved.
Hans
I agree, Sam. You shouldn't be staying alone anywhere near the mountain...
Sam
I'm going to be fine, guys. Let's not get carried away.
Edry
I agree with Sam. You people need to chill... It's just some news.
Edry
Let's just hope there's no second victim... everything will be normal.
Episode 3
Sunday. The morning came promising the sun and clear sky to fill the day. Hans took a glance at his wrist watch and the time showed 1045 am sharp. He forward towards the house in front of him, cheerful as always. He knocked on the door and a familiar face greeted him with a warm smile.
Hans
Good morning, Mrs Lee.
Kassi's mother
Good morning, Hans. Come on in.
Kassi's mother
Had your breakfast already?
Kassi's mother asked as the young man followed behind her.
Hans
Yes, I've had mine. Thanks.
Kassi's mother
Have a seat... She'll be down in a moment.
Hans walked over and sat on one of the sofa seats. He watched the middle aged woman neared the stairs and she tilted her face upwards.
Kassi's mother
Kassi! Hans is here!
From above, stumbling noises was heard.
Kassi
I'll be down in a minute!
Kassi's mother shifted towards Hans.
Kassi's mother
Would you like to have a drink?
Kassi's mother
Alright... I'll be in the kitchen.
Hans nodded with a smile. As the woman disappeared behind the kitchen, a man entered the the living room. Another familiar face whom he knew , greeted him with a surprised expression. Hans immediately stood up in respect for Kassi's father.
Kassi's father
You are here? Please, be seated.
Kassi's father
Good, good.
The man took a seat beside Hans. A tingle of nervousness stroked the young man's chest.
Kassi's father
Going out with Kassi?
Kassi's father
Where are you going to?
Hans
There's a carnival in town. I planned on bringing her to spend the day.
Kassi's father
Oh? There's a carnival?
The older man pressed his body back for comfort. He stared at the empty space in front of him before he began again.
Kassi's father
It's been quite some time since I and Mrs Lee went out on dates... We've had memorable times during carnivals, you know.
Hans
We could go there together right now. If you would like to...
Kassi's father
Not today, son. My daughter will feel embarrassed going out on a date with her parents around. Wouldn't she?
With friction on his face, Kassi's dad looked straight in Hans eyes and suddenly dissolve into a small laughter.
Kassi's father
Hahaha... I've been young before. Those days our parents are much stricter with their daughters. It wasn't easy to please Kassi's grandfather, you know.
Kassi's father
But I trust you to take good care of my girl. Since you've been seeing my daughter for a while already.
Hans didn't know how to react to this conversation. He just smile and nodded. Hans had been dating the man's daughter for a year now and had always disciplined himself to be respectful of the elders. He loved Kassi as much as her parents do and has plans of proposing her when the time comes.
Just then, footsteps were heard hustling down the stairs. Kassi was all smiles when she saw Hans and her father in the living room together.
Hans
Mr Lee, we are leaving now.
Kassi's father
Alright, then, don't forget to bring her home before the evening.
From the kitchen's doorway, Kassi's mom popped her head and waved.
Hans rises and bowed to Kassi's father. The man acknowledged and watched his daughter gleefully left the house with the boy.
Hans started his motorbike, took the helmet and fits it on Kassi's head gently. Kassi blushed. That sweet feeling never subsides every time he did that for her.
Hans
We'll go grab a brunch first. I'm beginning to feel hungry. He he he...
Hans
We'll go catch a movie and visit the carnival. Okay, baby?
Hans
I heard there's a new haunted house at the carnival... We should check it out!
They both giggled. Kassi embraced Hans as they ride off to the central town.
