"Mom I don't understand why we have to move again!" Taehyung said voice shaking a little.

"It's time, ok? Your father doesn't want the neighbors talking." His mom replied

"Then he shouldn't have done that!" Be said pointing.

"Please just let this go tae!" She says.

"Mom we have been moving every time this happens, I don't want to do this again!" Taehyung said

frustrated.

"Look, just so as he says ok? It will get better!"

Taehyung knew better then to believe those words. She said them everytime and not once had they

been true. This was the third time in two years they had to move, but this time they would be

moving out of state.

Starting over where no one knew them or their story. No rumors floating through the air to crumble

the lie of the happy family. Running away before anyone realizes the real truth.

Taehyung was used to it at this point but he at least has his friends near by, sometimes just a city

away. He figured they had lived in every city around their home town and that's why they were

moving over 6 hours away.

He's excuse was that his dad traveled a lot for work, and would be transferred to a new branch

every year or so. A lie. He was so done with it all, ready to leave it all behind. But his mom, and

his sister, he couldn't leave them. So he stays and tries to take care of them.

｡･ﾟ*.* Jungkook POV ｡･ﾟ*.*

"Did you take your meds this morning?" Jungkook heard as his mom came into his room.

"Yes, just like I do everyday." He said back with a smirk.

She gives him a soft smile.

"I know, but I still have to ask." She says.

She takes out a folder taking notes of his temperature and blood pressure and checked his blood

sugar as well with a prick to his finger.

"What are doing today?" She asks him kneeling beside him.

He looks down at her, and just like every other morning harldy gets any eye contact from her.

She wasn't bad to him, but distant. What can you expect from a surgeon? There is a need for

distance when dealing with patients, and he knew this. He knew he was a patient to her, but he was

also her son and that line had been blurred long ago.

"I think I'll work with my study group a little, and see if I can finish this English essay." He replied

turning to his laptop.

"This study group helps right? They don't distract you from your work?" She asks.

"Yes, mom they help me a lot. Don't worry I still get all my work done. And I have to make friends

some how." He replies starting to feel a little annoyed.

"I know you need friends, but I don't want them to be a bad influence on you either." She says

sternly.

"They are not like that mom. They are really nice and some are older and have completed the

subject I need help with." Jungkook said softly removing his arm from his mother's grip.

"Ok well, I will be back later tonight. Sophie will be by in a little bit. Please be good today!" She

says resting her hand on his shoulder briefly.

He nodded.

He opened the video group chat and waited for the other to join.

"Hey!!! Kook! What's up?!" Said one of the boys.

"Hey Jin hyung! Nothing just working on my essay again!" Jungkook replied with a smile.

"Aye, you still working on that? I would have figured you would be done by now!" The older

replied.

"My mom says it needs to be revised more. It doesn't sound serious enough she said." Jungkook

said rolling his eyes.

Jin paused looking around Jungkook's room through the camera.

"She isn't there right?" He asks.

"No she left already!" Jungkook replied getting his stuff together.

"Good! I don't want her to think I'm a bad hyung letting you talk bad about her behind her back!"

He said smirking.

"She is hardly here hyung don't worry! Anyway I sent you the revised version, can you look at it?"

Jungkook said with his pouty face.

"Uh, stop with the face! I'll look at it now!" The elder replies.

"Your the best hyung!!!" Jungkook said happily.

"Hey I thought I was your favorite hyung!" Came another voice as another image came on the

screen.

"Hobi hyung!" Jungkook said happily.

"Hey kid! What's up?" He asks the younger.

"Nothing, just having Jin hyung read my essay again!" He said smiling lazily.

"Oh got it! Why do you look so tired?" Hobi asks.

"Oh I stayed up late reading." Jungkook replied rubbing his eyes.

"You need to sleep kid! You look awful!" Hobi says giggling.

"Wow thanks!" Jungkook replied.

"Just kidding kid, you always look fine. Pale but fine." Hobi replies.

"Stop teasing the kid, you know he is a hermit. What do you expect?" Jin rang in.

"Both of you shut up!" Came a different voice.

"Oh come on yoongi hyung, we are just playing!" Replies Hobi.

"There is nothing wrong with being pale kid!" Yoongi says.

"You are saying that because you barely leave the house either, you would think you were the one

allergic to the world!" Hobi teases.

Jungkook rolls his eyes laughing softly at his hyungs teasing. He didn't take anything they said to

heart, it was actually kind of nice to not be treated like he would break. His hyungs made him feel

normal, and actually enjoyed their back and forth teasing.

"Hey! You guys started without me?!" Came yet another voice.

"Hey Jiminie, no we are just teasing yoongi hyung about how he looks paler than the kid." Hobi

said giggling.

"Aw yoongi hyung you really should get out more, it's good for your health." Jimin said sweetly.

"Awwwww!!!!" Rang all the boys at once.

"Shut up!" Jimin said blushing.

"Aw Jiminie is worried for Yoongi hyung. Just ask him out already!" Says Jungkook.

"Uh whatever..." Jimin says moving off screen.

"Aye, hyung come back here!!!" Jungkook yelled.

"Jungkookie!!! Hey! How are you?" Another voice came but from Jin's video.

"Namjoonie hyung!! Hi!" Jungkook said almost in a baby voice.

Another of his friends walked up behind Jin moving to take his place while the other finished

reading Jungkook's essay.

"How are you today? You look tired! Did you fall asleep reading again?" Namjoon asked.

"Yeah sorry hyung." Jungkook said pouting.

"Uh stop babying him!" Said Yoongi.

"What do you mean? You baby him all the time! Have you read your messages in the group chat?"

Says Hobi.

"I think we all baby him, because he is the baby!" Jimin added.

"I am not a baby but yes you all do treat me like one!" Jungkook replied.

"Well, you are our baby and we will protect you!" Hobi says shaking his fists in the air.

"From what exactly? He can't leave his house." Yoongi added.

Jungkook just shook his head smiling as hyungs again went off on a rant about who knows what.

He has learn to tune them out when they go off like that.

As the hyungs went on minute six of this rant, Jungkook heard something from outside his

window. He stood and walked toward the window and saw a rental truck pull up to the house next

door. A man climbed out of the driver's side and soon after a younger guy did as well, but his back

was turned toward the window.

Jungkook watched fascinated. That house had been empty for over a year, and he had not heard it

had been sold. Maybe he was too busy to notice. He continued watching as the older man pointed

to the back of the truck for the younger to follow him.

"Aye, kid where did you go?" Hobi yelled.

Jungkook turned to his computer and back quickly to the window to catch a last look at his new

neighbors.

"Jungkook you ok? Wave a hand if you are still concious!" Said Yoongi.

"Really hyung?! Don't make us worry yet!" Said hobi.

"Jungkooooooookie???!!!!" Hobi sang.

Jungkook rolled his eyes.

"Aye hyungs I'm here, relax!" Jungkook replied sitting back down in front of the camera.

"Hey, don't scare is like that!" Said Namjoon.

"Sorry jyung. Looks like we have new neighbors so I was just taking a look!" Jungkook said.

"Oh really? Someone you can spy on, hm? Fun!" Said Hobi.

"Hyung this isn't 'Desterbia' the next door neighbor isn't hiding dead bodies or something!" Jimin

replied.

"Hey, you never know! People seem totally normal and it turns out they are like a canabal or

something!" Said Hobi in a serious voice. "Just watch out Jungkookie!"

"Hyung you need to stop watching those horror movies so much, they are crying your brain."

Jungkook replied smiling.

"Hey! Some are based on real things! So don't say I didn't warn you." Hobi says looking down at his phone.

"Jungkookie!!! I'm done, looks really good!" Jin said coming back into the frame of the camera

again.

"Thanks hyung!" Jungkook said giving a big smile.

"You are reading his essay again Jinnie?" Namjoon said turning and smiling at the other.

"Yep! Gotta help our boy!" Jin replied putting his arm around Namjoon and taking a seat in his lap.

"Uh! Will you too stop being so clingy during video chats?! Some of us are single you know!"

Hobi yells covering his eyes.

"Yeah and some of us just find it gross!" Yoongi said turning his chair all the way around.

Jungkook just giggled.

"Oh hush children we didn't do anything! I just sat down!" Jin says annoyed.

They chatted for a while before one by one they had to sign off. Jimin and Jungkook were the last

to talk.

"Seriously though kook, how you feeling?" He asks concerned.

"I'm ok. My mom says I might be a little dehydrated, so she has been giving me an IV drip at night.

She says sometimes it's a side effect of my medication." Replied Jungkook shrugging.

"Ah man. Even though you are like totally sure off from the world some how you still can get sick.

That sucks..." Jimin said frowning.

Jimin was the closest to Jungkook in age and really worried a lot about him. All the hyungs did but

they tried their best to keep his spirits up, so he felt more normal. But each would check on him in

their individual chats to make sure he was ok or if he needed anything.

His room pretty much had everything he could want in ways of entertainment. He had a TV and

various game systems to entertain him, and his laptop for chatting with his hyungs and homeschool

stuff. I mean a lot of 17 year olds would think this was a dream come true.

But he had lived like this his whole life, and eventually all those things lose their excitement. He

really looked forward to these video chats more than anything to just feel a part of something.

"So you have new neighbors huh? Did you get a look at them?" Jimin asks.

"I saw I'm guessing the dad but only the back of the son. Hold on I'll take another look real quick."

Jungkook said turning the laptop to face where he was headed.

He looked out the window again and saw the younger guy unloading something and a younger girl

jumping happily near by. The younger guy turned finally and Jungkook could see his face. Without

thinking he let out a 'wow'.

"What?" Jimin asked.

He could only see Jungkook by the window but not what he was looking at.

"Jungkook? Kook? What is it?" Jimin asks again.

This shook Jungkook to turn.

"The son is like really good looking." Jungkook said embarrassed.

"Hahaha... Jungkookie you haven't seen many people I'm sure everyone looks good to you." Jimin

said jokingly.

So Jungkook lifted the laptop to the window to try and show Jimin the view.

"Damn, wow! He is like a feakin' model! Ok, I agree with your taste kook!" Jimin says jokingly.

Earning a scolding look from the younger. Jungkook turns to set the laptop next to him on a small

table and take a seat by the window and start reading.

"Why do you read when we video chat kook, that's rude!" Whined Jimin.

"We go through this every day hyung. You are the one who has nothing better to do." Jungkook says jokingly.

"Hey I'm looking for a job , ok?!" Jimin snaps back.

"Yeah but you still live with your parents." Jungkook replied.

"Leave me alone ok, I'm still getting my life together don't judge! Anyway have you talked to your

mom about my plan?" Jimin asks.

"Yeah, she said she doesn't know if its a good idea." Jungkook says sad.

"We aren't going to actually go inside the house. We can set up some chairs outside the window

and just hang out!" Jimin said smiling.

"Great so am I the animal in the cage then?" Jungkook joked.

"Yes our little bunny!" Jimin teased.

"Shut up!" Jungkook yelled annoyed.

"I mean do we have to tell her? Can't we just set it up while she is gone?" Jimin asks smirking.

Jungkook turns and sees Jimin smirk.

"Hmmm... actually I guess that could work!" Jungkook replied happily.

"What could work?" Said Sophie standing in the door way.

"Sh***!" Said Jimin accidentally too loudly.

"Hi Jimin-ah!" Said Sophie.

"Hehe...oh hi noona!" Jimin said with an awkward laugh.

Jungkook had stood and was fidgeting awkwardly.

"See...the guys wanted to come visit, but they weren't going to come inside. They wanted to set up

outside the living room window so we could kind of hang out in person!" Jungkook said grining.

Sophie looked at him with one eyebrow raised.

"You know your mother would not want you to do that. She would say it is just a painful reminder

that you can't actually be with them." Sophie said walking toward him.

"Please noona! I mean, they will be gone before she gets back. She won't need to know!" Jungkook

said pouting.

Sophie watched him for a minute.

"Alright but they have to be gone before 4. We don't want your mom to catch them, you know how

strict she is about these things." Sophie replied ruffling Jungkook's hair.

"Thank you so much noona!!" Jungkook replied hugging her.

"Yeah thanks noona! You are the best!" Came Jimin's voice.

"Your welcome, but Jiminie-ah I don't want to see any alcohol ok?" Sophie said .

"No of course noona, no alcohol!! I swear on my hair!" Jimin replied.

Sophie gave him an a confused look before leaving.

Jungkook and Jimin laughed from excitement.

｡･ﾟ*.* Taehyung POV ｡･ﾟ*.*

"Son help the movers with the stuff in the back!" Mr. Kim said as Taehyung climbed out of the

moving truck.

"ok." He replied.

He opened the back of the truck and grabbed the closest box. Walking up the path toward the front

door, he glanced over the fence and saw a boy in the window of the house next door. The window

wrapped around the whole front side of the room and there the boy was watching the truck.

Taehyung smiled a little when he caught sight of him. He had big doe eyes under his black hoodie

and a small smile on his face. Taehyung thought he looked kind of cute, before turning and

entering the house. When he came back outside the boy was gone.

He shrugged and continued helping move stuff inside. When they had turned the truck for a better

space for the large items, he saw the boy in the window again. This time the boy was sitting along

the window with his head down reading and smiling.

Taehyung stood and watched for a little while wondering what was making the cute boy smile so

much. He noticed him turn to his head to the side before laughing and revealing a big bunny smile

and throwing his head back.

'Wow super cute' Taehyung thought to himself.

"Taehyungie oppa, did you find my box of stuffed animals yet?" Came a little voice.

His younger sister ran toward him and he picked her up.

"Hmm...I'm sure it's here somewhere! Let's look together ok?" Taehyung said bopping the girl on

the nose.

That night everything had been unloaded and brought into the house. Taehyung dropped on his

bead from being so tired. He decided to wait for dinner from this position. From the corner of his

eye he noticed the boy next door was still sitting reading.

His own room was dark now with the light from outside as the only source of light at the moment.

Be watched the boy for a little while just reading and smiling and now he could see why be kept

turning.

Next to him there was a laptop and Taehyung could see that the boys was talking to someone. He

decided to turn his light on and try to catch the boys attention. He stood walking over to the wall

and switching on the light, and the boy in the window instantly turned to look.

Taehyung walked over to his window and paused before waving to the younger boy. Jungkook

shrunk into himself a little before waving back just a little. Taehyung smiled at the small action.

How would he introduce himself....he found a piece of paper and wrote down the words: "Hi I am

Taehyung!"

He turned and help the paper in the window. The other boy smiled after reading the words and did

the same.

"Hi I am Jungkook! :)" Taehyung smiled again at the boys cuteness. He jokingly bowed and

smiled as if to say nice to meet you.

He turned quickly when he heard his mom yell for him from downstairs. He turned back to the

window and waved goodbye before leaving the room.

｡･ﾟ*.* Jungkook POV ｡･ﾟ*.*

"What's going on?" Jimin asks seeing Jungkook distracted by something out the window.

"It's just my new neighbor. I guess he is trying to introduce himself. He is writing something

down." Jungkook said without turning.

"Uh, he has barely been here a day and be is already flirting. He has no shame!" Jimin said

jokingly.

"I think he is just saying Hi Jiminie!" Jungkook replied.

"You show me no respect...it's just wrong!" Jimin said pretending to be hurt by the younger's

words.

"Sorry Jimin-ssi!" Jungkook said loudly.

"Brat." Jimin growled.

This sent Jungkook into a fit of laughter. Before turning his attention again out the window to see

the neighbor holding a paper to the window.

"He says his name is Taehyung." Jungkook says.

He turns and grabs the notebook near by writing his own name down.

"Uh can you not flirt right in front of my salad kook?!" Jimin said pretending to be annoyed.

"I'm not flirting I'm just telling him my name, gosh Jimin-ssi get out of your imagination!"

Jungkook replies.

He hears Jimin cursing at him under his breath and turns to show his paper with a cute smile. Soon

he sees the boy turn for minute and wave goodbye, and he waves back. He turns to see Jimin just

looking at him.

"Don't do it look!" Jimin says shaking his head.

"Do what?" Jungkook asks.

"Don't fall for the boy next door! Those things never turn out like they do in those dramas and plus

you literally can't go near him because of your illness. So like yeah don't fall for him." Jimin says.

"What? Fall for him? We just said hi, calm down!" Jungkook replies returning to his book.

Jimin drops the topic and instead starts talking about some crazy job interview he had and

Jungkook takes one last glance at the room across the way and let's himself smile a little.

ﾟ･｡°*. ﾟ Jungkook POV ﾟ･｡°*. ﾟ

"So are we on for today?" Asked Hobi.

"Yeah definitely! My mom left early this morning and said she won't be back till after 8, so we are

in the clear!" Jungkook replied to his group of friends.

"I can't believe we are actually going to try and pull this off! Finally!" Jimin whines.

"I know we have been video chatting for years now, it's gonna be cool to see you in person

kook...well I mean kind of!" Replied Yoongi.

"I know! I'm excited!" Jungkook replied with a big smile.

"Ok well we have to go get supplies and we will see you in an hour, ok?" Said Jin.

"Ok see you guys soon!" Jungkook replied signing off.

He couldn't contain how excited he was to actually see his friends. Even though it would be behind

a glass window, it was something and he was beyond happy.

"I am still not sure about thing jungkook-ah." Sophie said nervously. "If your mom finds out she

won't be happy."

"Noona I promise it will be fine! You have been with me since I was little, she won't do anything to

you! You are basically family to me!" Jungkook said reassuringly.

Sophie smirked and walked out leaving Jungkook alone. There was still time before his friends

were arriving, so he decided to read for a little while. He took his usual place next to the window,

it definitely was his favorite spot.

He could feel the sun's warmth on his face which always made him happy. He opened the book to

where he had left off.

Not long later he noticed movements from the corner of his eye. It was the blinds opening in the

room next door. The boy he had seen yesterday opened them and smiled when he caught sight of

Jungkook. Jungkook returned the smile with a shy one of his own. Taehyung waved and grabbed

one of his notebooks to jot down a quick message.

Jungkook watched curiosly.

Taehyung turned the paper to the window.

"Hi again! How are you?" It said on it.

Jungkook smiled and started writing a note of his own.

"Fine! How are you?" He showed to the other.

Taehyung smirked. He had a thought. He started writing again and turned the paper again. This

time showing the other boy his phone number. And the message:

"Text me!"

Jungkook took out his phone and took down the number, before sending a quick message.

Jungkook: "hi"

Taehyung: "hey! What are you up to?"

Jungkook: "just reading! U?"

Taehyung: "unpacking mostly. I always see you in the window, do you read that much?"

Jungkook: "lol! Yeah I read a lot, I feel like the time passes quicker. The days feel less long when I

read."

Taehyung: "you don't like going out? Movies, eating, handout with friends? That's kind of stuff?"

Jungkook paused for a moment. It was always hard to explain to people his condition. It took some

time for his hyungs to really understand how serious it was.

Jungkook: "I uh have a medical condition called SCID. Means my immune system is very weak, so

I can't go outside. I am completely sealed in here."

Taehyung: "wow really?"

Jungkook: "yeah. :)"

Taehyung: "how long have you had this condition?"

Jungkook: " since I was a kid, so yeah a pretty long time now."

Taehyung: "that's too bad, I'm really sorry!"

Jungkook: "you haven't done anything don't apologize! Where did you move from?"

Taehyung: "Degu!"

Jungkook: "oh wow! I heard it's nice there!"

Taehyung: "yeah it had its charms!:) So what do you actually do most of the day if you are stuck

inside?"

Jungkook: "I read a lot, play games, draw, so song covers, talk with my hyungs during video chat."

Taehyung: "that all sounds really great!"

Jungkook: " what kinda of things do you like doing?"

Taehyung: "I work mostly and write sometimes if I have time. I also like to read too, but mostly

collect classic books."

Jungkook:" That's actually really cool! You must enjoy searching for the books."

Taehyung: "Yeah I stop by little book stores and stay for hours looking at all the books!"

Jungkook: "Wow! That sounds fun actually! Online book shopping isn't quite the same! Lol!"

Taehyung: "� Is there a treatment for your condition?"

Jungkook: "Some experimental things, but my mom is a doctor and says the risks are too high. It's

safer this way."

Taehyung: "hmmm...that's too bad!"

Jungkook: "hey I'm sorry I have to go, but it was nice talking to you!"

Taehyung: "Yeah you too Jungkook! Ttyl!"

ﾟ･｡°*. ﾟ Taehyung POV ﾟ･｡°*. ﾟ

After sending his last message to the cute boy across the way, he watched through the window a

little longer. He thought to himself, 'he doesn't look sick.'

He had never heard of SCID, and thought maybe he would read up on it.

So after Jungkook stepped out of view, he turned to grab his laptop and do some research. From

what he was reading, it sounded like a pretty serious condition. It made sense why Jungkook was

forced to stay inside.

He felt a sinking feeling in his stomach when he read the words 'no known cure' and 'most sufferers

live short lives.' He felt sad that someone like Jungkook, someone who seems to be so positive and

has a big smile, would be someone who had such a tough life.

He sat skimming over article after article feeling the same weird feeling the more he read.

"Taehyungie oppa!!!" Came a small voice.

"In here, seo!" He heard little feet running toward his room.

The little girl rushed in jumping into Taehyung's arms and squeezing him tight.

"Hey, what's wrong?" He asks her worried.

"It's starting again." She says softly.

Taehyung let out a sigh and closed the door to his room, making his little sister comfortable and

turning on a movie for her. He sat comfortably next to her, increasing the volume as the voices

down stairs grew louder.

'Here we go again', he thought to himself.

ﾟ･｡°*. ﾟ. Jungkook POV ﾟ･｡°*. ﾟ

Jungkook had heard Sophie step outside and voices in the front yard. He rushed down the stairs

almost slipping from wearing his socks on the wood flooring. He peeked out the window to see his

hyungs gathering in front.

"Hello! I am Sophie. I am Jungkook's nurse. You are all aware of his condition? You are aware

you can not come inside the house, but are permitted to sit by the side window? Correct?" She said

nicely but we seriousness.

They all shook their head and followed her to the side of the house. Jungkook rushed over as the

entered his view and all started smiling. He waved to them watching them rush over and set up all

their stuff! Jin motioned to Jungkook to tell him he was call him.

Jungkook took out his phone and answered.

"Hyung you guys are really here!!!" Jungkook said excitedly.

"Of course kiddo! We would never stand you up!!!" Jin said laughing at how excited Jungkook

was. "I'm going to leave you on speaker so you can hear us better!"

He sets his phone down and all the other boys started greeting Jungkook at once, making laugh

sweetly.

He connects his wireless earbuds and sets his phone down on the table next to him.

"Jungkookie!!! I can't believe how close we get to see you!!" Said Hobi happily.

"I know! This is awesome!" Jungkook replied.

"Kook, how are you?" Jimin asks getting closer to the window.

"I am much better now!" He says.

"Ahhhh!!!! So sappy!" Yoongi shouts.

They all burst into laughter and smack Yoongi a few times.

Inside Jungkook always felt like a zoo animal, being watched through glass. This on the other hand

was better than what he could hope for.

"Did you submit your essay Jungkookie?" Jin asks.

"Yeah this morning! Thanks for your help hyung!" Jungkook replied.

They talked among themselves for some time, hours fly by. Jungkook had not realized how late it

got until the sun over head grew darker and his hyungs were shivering from the cold. Then he

heard the sound of a car driving into the driveway.

The hyungs heard it too and quietly started panicking. They started packing everything up, trying

to get ready to run. Jungkook signalled for them to run as soon as he heard his mom pass the last

round of purification. Most of the hyungs had gone out of the gate but then Jimin drops his phone,

and his eyes widen when he sees Jungkook's mom looking at him.

Jungkook turns to look at her and back to see Jimin rushing out of the yard.

"Jungkook! What's going on?" His mom asks angry.

"It's nothing! Just some of my friends came to see me, but they stayed outside I swear!" Jungkook

replied apologeticly.

"Are those the boys from that website I told you to not look at?" His mom said coldly.

"Mom it's nothing. I don't go on the site any more, we just chat through video sometimes. They

wanted to kind of meet in person." Jungkook said his head slowly dropping.

"It doesn't matter. I told you to stay away and you didn't!" She sighed. "Give me your phone."

Jungkook looked up at her sadly before handing it over.

"I can't trust that you won't make this mistake again." She turned and went into her office.

Jungkook felt a knot in his stomach. He knew she would block all sites except his homeschool site

after this. Which she did. A few days past and he had not seen or spoken to anyone, except

Sophie. His mom started working double shifts and that meant he was alone for almost half the

day. He also hadn't seen his neighbor in a few days either. Then one day Taehyung opened the

blinds and Jungkook looked up to see him.

Concern filled him when it look like Taehyung had a black eye that was almost healed.

Taehyung reached for his phone and tried to send Jungkook a message but Jungkook showed him

his empty hands and shook his head to tell Taehyung that his phone was gone.

Taehyung reached for his notenook and wrote down a few words showing them to Jungkook.

'No phone? Why?'

Jungkook started writing.

'Got caught breaking the rules. No email either.' He wrote back.

Taehyung replied by making a exaggerated sad face, making Jungkook laugh. Then Jungkook

started writing.

'Are you ok? You look hurt.' he showed Taehyung.

Taehyung's face drops a little.

'Just a misunderstanding.' he replied with a half smile. Jungkook gave him a sympothetic look, he

knew something bad must have happened.

They sat for a bit just looking once in a while at eachother while they both decided to read. This

started making Jungkook blush, when he would glance over to see Taehyung just watching him.

He tried to act like he didn't notice how many times Taehyung lingered watching him.

He could feel the blushing reach his ears. A little later he glanced over and saw Taehyung had

fallen asleep with his book resting on his chest. Now Jungkook was the one watching, admiring the other's features.

He was not confident enough to look at him this long when they were both awake, but now he

could steal small glances without the other seeing him. Soon Jungkook felt himself drift off to

sleep as well.

For the next few days Jungkook would find Taehyung reading and light up as soon as Jungkook

came into view, which always made him blush. One morning Jungkook heard a commotion come

from the front yard of his neighbors house. Taehyung's dad was rushing out with Taehyung

following.

Their voices were slightly muffled but he could hear them.

"Dad what are you doing?! You can't leave after what you just did! We need to take her to a

doctor!" Taehyung yelled.

"Move Taehyung, now!!!" His father yelled.

Taehyung stood in front of the car blocking it. His father came around and landed a bit to

Taehyung knocking him away, before climbing into the car and driving away.

Jungkook didn't know why but he felt this ruah. He ran down the stairs, entered the door code and

ran outside. He ran over to where Taehyung was on the floor.

"Taehyung are you ok??" Jungkook asked trying to help him up.

Taehyung's eyes widened at the touch and sight of Jungkook outside.

"What are you doing Jungkook? Go back inside!" Taehyung said panicked.

"But you're hurt! You need help!" Jungkook replied.

"No you need to go inside!" Taehyung said taking his hand leading him back to the house.

When they reach the door, he quickly gets Jungkook inside closing the door behind him sealing it

shut. Jungkook turned with eyes wide with concern. Taehyung watched back with sadness placing

his hand on the glass before turning and walking away. Jungkook stood watching him walk away.

ﾟ･｡°*. ﾟJungkook's POV ﾟ･｡°*. ﾟ

Days passed since the scene in the drive way between Taehyung and his dad. The curtain in

Taehyung's window remained closed and Jungkook watched for any sign that the boy was ok. It

was all quiet. He sat reading in his usual spot when his mom walked in.

"Hey." She said softly. "I figured it was time for me to return your phone. I assume you learned

from this mistake. Am I right?"

Her voiced moved from her soft motherly voice, to her harsher voice.

"Yes mom, I won't have them come here again." Jungkook replied feeling defeated.

He musch rather be able to video chat his hyungs than be totally cut off from them. His mom

shortly left and Jungkook turned his phone on and was flooded with messages from his hyungs. He

decided to call Jimin first, since he was the most concerned and kind of emotional one.

The dial tone rang in his ear as he waited for an answer.

"Kook?" Came a voice.

"Hey hyung it's me." Jungkook said calmly.

"Oh my gosh!!! I am so glad to hear your voice." Jimin said relieved. "I was so sure we would

never hear from you again after what happened. I was so close to just sneaking in to make sure you

were ok!"

Jungkook laughed softly.

"Don't worry hyung, I'm ok now. My mom pretty much stayed away for days after. Even told

Sophie not to come." Jungkook said.

"What do you mean? She left you alone?" Jimin asked concerned.

"I think she wanted to make sure I didn't see anyone, to learn my lesson." Jungkook replied.

"Are you kidding? That's like solitary confinement. That's too harsh Jungkook, isolation like that

can cause serious phycological problems. Why would she do that?" Jimin said starting to get

angry.

"Hyung don't worry, this isn't the first time. I am used to it." Jungkook said sighing.

"Jungkook that's not right. I know I am dramatic sometimes but honestly that is dangerous. Did

anything happen to you while you were alone?" Jimin asked.

"No, but I did see Taehyung get into a fight with his dad. His dad hit him and I guess my instincts

kicked in. I ran out to make sure he was ok, but he dragged back home and locked me back in."

Jungkook said sadly.

"Wait WHAT?! You went outside??" Jimin asked suprised.

"Yeah, just for a moment to make sure Taehyung was ok. No big deal." Jungkook said.

"Did anything happen to you? Did you feel sick after?" Jimin asked.

"No i felt fine. Honestly I wasn't outside that long and I only came into contact with Taehyung for a

couple of seconds." Jungkook answered.

"Wow. Have you spoken to him again? Is he ok?" Jimin asked.

"I don't know. I just got my phone back and he hasn't been opening his curtains. I just really hope

he is ok." Jungkook let out a deep sigh. "I feel like for the first time that I could run and never

come back. That maybe I could be free."

There was a moment where neither of them spoke.

"Have you and your mom discussed trying new treatments? I mean she is a doctor, I would think

she would know if there were other options out there. It's been 17 years, they had to have

discovered something by now." Jimin sounded fustrated.

"I had hoped when I turned 18 maybe I could have more say in trying more experimental treatment.

But honestly I don't know of any right now. At least not ones that wouldn't possibly kill me. I mean

I guess this is just my fate." Jungkook sounded as fustrated as Jimin.

"Have you checked your records? Maybe there is more information there, maybe one of your other

doctors could offer some hope." Jimin replied.

"Maybe..." An alert sound came from Jungkook's phone.

He looked and saw a message from Taehyung.

Taehyung: "Jungkook, hi! I don't know when you will see this but I'm really sorry. I'm sorry you

had to see what happened with my dad. I'm also sorry that I pushed you away. I was embarrassed

and scared for you. I don't know why you came out but I hope you didn't get hurt. Let me know if

you are ok soon. Ttyl."

"Hey hyung, can I call you back later?" Jungkook asked quickly.

"Yeah kook call me later!" Jimin said before Jungkook ended the call.

He started to reply to Taehyung's message, but he felt his hands shaking. He felt nervous, and he

wasn't sure exactly why but he took a few deep breaths to help calm his nerves.

Jungkook: "hi Taehyung! So sorry I am just replying now. My mom had taken my phone and

limited my computer use after I broke some rules. I am fine, nothing happened to me. Are you ok?"

Taehyung: "I am so glad you are ok Jungkook, I was really worried that you got sick. You broke

rules? I find that hard to believe! "

Jungkook: "Yeah. My hyungs came over and sat with me. They stayed outside but my mom came

home early and was super angry."

Taehyung: "I'm sorry you couldn't spend time with your hyungs. How mad was she?"

Jungkook: "She stayed away from home for a week. Didn't even send Sophie my nurse."

Taehyung: "Wait she left you alone for a whole week? Oh my gosh Jungkook I'm so sorry. You

must have felt so lonely."

Jungkook: "It's not the first time. It's her usual form of punishment. So I am used to it. Sometimes

it feels like the days all blend together and I get a little confused, but like I said I'm used to it."

Taehyung: "Jungkook that sounds awful. I wish I could have kept you company. Your mom

wouldn't have know right since she wasn't there."

Jungkook: "She gets alerts when the door is opened or closed. But the day I ran out to you I entered

the override code. She doesn't know I know it."

Taehyung: "it kind of sounds extreme. Almost like a prison. I don't know how you don't go crazy in

there."

Jungkook: "it's all I have know since I was little. Since I was diagnosed. I was a baby after all."

Taehyung: "So you have been like this since birth?"

Jungkook: "No. Uh....they discovered it after the accident. My parents and my brother and I were in

a car accident. My dad and older brother died do to their injuries. Me and my mom were only had

minor injuries. After that I kept getting sick. They realized that I pretty much had no immune

system, and here I am."

Taehyung: "I'm so sorry....Does your mom usually leave for most of the day?"

Jungkook: "Yeah usually. Why?"

Taehyung: "I would like to visit you. Do you think I could?"

Jungkook: "well, no one is supposed to come in the house unless they have had a complete

physical exam...but if you keep your distance from me...maybe we can try."

Taehyung: "I promise I have had all my shots and have not been sick in the last month! Also, I

promise not to get too close. I just want to talk in person."

Jungkook: " I think we can work it out, but you have to come early before Sophie comes. Which

is around 9. Is that ok?"

Taehyung: "perfect!"

Jungkook: "ok see you tomorrow the?"

Taehyung: "yes! Can't wait! Ttyl jungkookie!"

ﾟ･｡°*. ﾟ Taehyung's POV ﾟ･｡°*. ﾟ

That night Taehyung fell asleep smiling, looking forward to meeting Jungkook in person for the

first time. It was one night in a while that he felt happy, and hopfull. He woke early and ate before

waiting for the all clear message from Jungkook.

The message came not long later with the override code for the front door.

For some reason Taehyung felt nervous and when he reached the door he hesitated for a moment.

He didn't want to put Jungkook in any danger, but he also wanted to actually talk to him. So he let

out a sigh and typed in the code. When he stepped in and closed the door, he heard a odd hissing

sound. The doors were completely sealing, and there was a sink off to the side. Also a place for

shoes.

Taehyung found everything so fascinating. Next there was a small room for decontamination

before the door unlocked and he could enter the main house.

He turned to corner to see a very open room with large windows. Across the room was Jungkook

standing by the stairs. He smiled seeing Taehyung walk in.

"Hi!" Jungkook said smiling and giving a small wave.

Taehyung let out a small laugh at Jungkook's cuteness.

"Hey! It's great to finally meet in person!" Taehyung replied.

"Yeah! Oh, come sit! I'll sit over here!" Jungkook said motioning for Taehyung to sit on a couch.

Jungkook took a seat in a chair way on the other side of the room.

There was silence for a moment, but soon they felt more natural and talked about all kinds of

things. They spoke about their interests, hobbies, favorite foods and more.

They had not noticed how long they had been talking, until the sound of the door opening rang

through their ears. Taehyung looked to see panic on Jungkook's face. He looked really scared.

"Jungkookie-ah! I brought some of your favorite..." Sophie began but trailed off when she saw

another person in the house.

"Uh, what's going on?" She asks with a small smile.

"Um, Sophie this is Taehyung he is our neighbor and a friend of mine." Jungkook said nervously.

"Hello Taehyung! Welcome. I'll let you two talk, but stay apart ok?" She mentions before leaving

for the kitchen.

Taehyung turned his attention back to the cute boy who looked stunned. This made Taehyung

smile again. They continued talking for a few hours. Taehyung told Jungkook about all the places

that be had lived. He even opened up about why they were always moving.

"I'm so sorry you have had to deal with that." Jungkook said sympotheticly.

"I have been trying to convince my mom to leave him for last couple of years since now I am old

enough to take care of them without my dad, but she is too scared. I know she is scared because

without my dad we really would have nothing, but it's been long enough." Taehyung said dropping

his head a little before turning to look out the window.

Jungkook sat watching the other feeling his heart ache. He wished that Taehyung did not have to

deal with such a thing on his own, but what could someone like him do. He couldn't even leave the

house.

Taehyung turned and smiled softly at Jungkook, who looked away blushing a little. This made

Taehyung smile in return.

"I have a question." Taehyung said breaking the silence.

"Ok! What is it?" Jungkook asked.

"If you could go anywhere in the world, where would you go?" Taehyung asked.

Jungkook smiled and looked down at his hands. He smiled to himself. This was the one thing he

thought about the most, since he was little. He would watch videos and look at pictures of places

all over the world.

"I have actually always wanted to learn photography, so that I could go to Jeju Island! I heard it's

really beautiful there!" Jungkook answered a little embarrassed.

This answer made Taehyung smile and imagine Jungkook in Jeju with his cute bunny grin taking

tons of pictures.

"That actually sounds really nice! I have never been to Jeju either, but I would love to go."

Taehyung replied.

They continued talking for some time and felt like they had really leaned a lot about eachother.

ﾟ･｡°*. ﾟ Jungkook POV ﾟ･｡°*. ﾟ

They had talked for a couple of hours before Taehyung said he had to go and he hoped he could

text later. Jungkook felt so happy to have the chance to see the other in person even though it was

hard to hide his blushes.

He felt so happy, and like he could do anything. It also made Jungkook thought more about his

dreams to go to Jeju Island. The more he thought about it the more he felt like he has never done

anything exciting in his life because of his illness.

His illness has made him a prisoner, and he would continue being a prisoner for the rest of his life.

That thought made his stomach flip. He wanted to experience things, to have memories outside of

his white walls.

He knew being in the world could kill him, but this wasn't living it was surviving. He wanted more,

more out of life. That evening he knew that it was time, time to do something drastic. So he called

his hyungs and told them what he wanted to do.

"Jungkookie, do you realize what you want to do? I mean you could get really hurt! I don't think

this is a good idea." Jin said worried.

"Hyung, the doctors said I wouldn't live as long as I have. I have had many years but nothing to

show for it. I have never done anything I dreamed of doing. How is that living? I don't want to my

only memories to be of this house." Jungkook said almost crying.

"I know why you want this Jungkookie, but are you sure?" Hobi asked.

"I have never been more sure! It's time!" Jungkook replied confidently.

"Well, there is no way in hell you are going alone!" Jimin replied.

"What?" Jungkook asks suprised.

"We are going with you!" Jimin says.

All the hyungs agree and plan to cancel anything they have going on for the next week.

"You guys don't have to do this!" Jungkook said shyly.

"We want to be with you, and if anything happens we will all be there! We don't want you to go

through this alone Jungkookie! Please let us do this for you!" Namjoon says.

"Yes and we will handle everything, so your mom won't suspect anything!" Yoongi chimed in.

"Oh, and there is one more thing." Jungkook said making his hoodie sleeves into paws over his

hands.

"I want to bring Taehyung."

The video chat went silent for a moment, each hyung beginning to smile a little.

"You want to bring your cute neighbor crush with you?" Jimin asked.

"He is just a friend but yes!" Jungkook replied slightly blushing.

"We will buy him a ticket, can you take care of telling him?" Jin asks.

"Yes!" Jungkook replied happily.

"Ok so we will see you soon Jungkookie!" Jin replied smiling.

Jungkook said goodbye to his hyungs and happily giggled to himself. He could not believe he

would finally be free. The fact that he could possibly kill himself by doing this, wasn't enough to

deter his plans. He had lived this long and was grateful but he wanted more.

He sat by his window hoping to see Taehyung and tell him the news. The curtains were closed, so

Jungkook took out his phone and sent a message instead.

Jungkook: "Taehyung are you free to talk for a minute?"

Taehyungie: "Miss me already?"

Jungkook: "Lol! Oh definitely I have been crying for hours!"

Taehyung: "lol! What's up Jungkookie?"

Jungkook: "I want to ask you a favor!"

After his last text Jungkook saw the curtain of Taehyung's window open to reveal a sleepy looking

Taehyung. Jungkook giggled at how cute sleepy Taehyung was.

Taehyung: "Of course! What is it?"

Jungkook: "Go on a trip with me?"

Taehyung looked at him in shock.

(📲 )

Taehyung: "what do you mean?"

Jungkook: " I'm taking a trip, and I want you to come with me!"

Taehyung: "But how? Why? When? Where???"

Jungkook: "Lol! I don't want to live like this. I want to see some of the world no matter what that

might mean for me. I want to make memories!! Please, will you come?"

Jungkook looked toward Taehyung with hopeful eyes waiting as the other watches in confusion.

Taehyung: "Are you sure you want to risk it?"

Jungkook: "I have to! I'm going crazy in here, and I want to be with the people I care about...in

person!"

Taehyung: "Then let's do it! So what's the plan?"

Jungkook smiled and laughed a little. It was really happening! Jungkook called Taehyung and

explained everything while the other listened carefully. They needed up talking for several hours,

and Jungkook eventually fell asleep listening to the sound of Taehyung's voice.

Taehyung could hear the shallow breathes of Jungkook sleeping on the other end of the call. He smiled to himself. He had been telling Jungkook stories about all the places he has lived. He knew

he could hang up, but he didn't want to.

Soon he too had fallen asleep, still connected to the call. Something about the sound of Jungkook's

sleepy breathing had made him fall asleep as well.
