LOOK BEFORE YOU LEAP

Gabriella wakes up to her alarm bell ringing, it is already 8:00am and she has to attend her basketball practice which she's really bad at. Although she has so much passion for basketball, her talents were so horrible that she can't even make a correct pass. Her coach takes advantage of the situation to mock her.

******Gabriella's POV******

~stops the alarm~

~yawns as she sits up on her bed and rubs her eyes for a clearer vision~

*Another frustrating day to go to practice😫*

~groans~ (she falls back to her bed, buries her head in her pillow and groans even louder but her voice was swallowed by the pillow). (She finally gets off her bed and prepares for practice)

Later that day by 4:30 pm in the evening Gabriella is seen with her coach

"Coach please give me one more chance I won't mess up I promise" she begs her coach

"Gabriella you yourself knows that I have tried alot, I'm sorry Gabriella but there's no more chances" He said with a disappointed gaze as he left her behind

"..." (looking helpless)

*At leat I still have my personal coach 🙄 * she thought

*sigh😤* ~zz,zz~ her phones vibration interrupts her thoughts, she brings her phone out to check who's calling

*Private Coach, damn I'm late for practice again' *

~ picks up ~

"Hello coach I'm on my way now its a little hold up" she immediately found an excuse

"Listen Gabriella, I'm afraid I'll have to resign from teaching you, I have a very important contract to take care of" the voice from the phone said

"But I can still come on Saturdays when you're free right?" she asked

"You don't get it Gabriella, I'm really busy that I don't have spare time even for myself, I'm sorry I wish I could really be of any help"the voice which she calls coach said pitifully

"I understand" she said before hanging up

*sighs*

" what now? looks like I'll give up on this 'being a basketball ball star thingy' 😩" she mockingly qoute her dream of being a basketball star with a soured expression. She looks around and found out she's the only person left in the training hall

*well looks like it's time to go home and tell the family the good news😒*

Gabriella is an average looking girl, who shows signs of being really beautiful if she takes care of herself. She's average in height, light skinned with a roughly packed violet hair in form of a doughnut.She has a light purple eye that matches her hair. She's at her late 18 and preparing for her 19 years birthday and like most women she's matured and might even have extra on her ****** part, but still doesn't change that she isn't taking care of herself. Gabriella doesn't come from a rich family but her parents respect and love her so much because she's the only child of all her siblings who agreed to stay with her parents while her siblings are furthering their education outside country with her rich uncle.

As she's walking on the road she's lost in her own deep thought calculating; how to tell her parents the news, if she should consider training with another person or give up and how many bad things can happen to a person in a day.

*~ ugh 😑~*she grunts in frustration, as she sweeps her gaze along the streets she sees her 'Busy Personal Coach' entering a store, she thinks of calling him but stops to think

*If he lied to escape training me that means he's really tired of Coaching me, well, who wouldn't be? I should probably go home and think of what to do next* as she resumed her steps without looking before she leaps, a boy who is around her age bracket hits her with his bicycle, she falls and screams in pain. Although it doesn't hurt that much she saw a chance to scream away all her sorrow and she couldn't ignore it.

"aaaghh!😵"

*And here I was thinking this day wouldn't get any worse*

she thought as she stopped screaming to notice that no passaby paid attention to her, she was about to increase her screaming volume as a shadow approached her, she traced the shadow to see a young man wearing a mask approach her. The young man panickingly approached her and bent towards her, he knelt with a kneel and ask her if she was ok but as soon as their eyes locked she couldn't stop staring at him; he has a light brown eye which matches his dark brown hair and a long eyelashes. his gaze was alluring like telling you 'never to look away'

*****Henry's POV*****

"Miss are you ok?" he asked but as soon as their eyes met, he studied her. Although she looks quite average her eyes gives him another vibe

*This miss will be beautiful if she takes care of herself* he thought then he studied her one more time before asking

"are you ok miss?" he noticed she too studied him

"Do I know you?🤨" an unexpected question from Gabriella fills up Henry's eardrum

"I don't think we've met before" he answered honestly,

"But does it hurt so much" he asked looking at a little cut on Gabriella's leg

"Don't worry it's just a cut" she said with a reassuring smile as soon as she noticed Henry's worry, but Henry doesn't want to buy the idea.

"Come let me take you to the hospital for a first aid treatment"

"I can't, my card expired and I can't get any treatment without a valid card"

"In that case please come sit here while I go get you some medicine" he helped her up to a bench located under a tree nearby, it was designed for tired passaby to sit and take a little fresh air

"I'll be back let me go get the medicine, sit tight" Gabriella couldn't ague due to his determination, she thought maybe he feels too guilty and the only way out of it is if she lets him help. He ran towards a nearby Pharmacy to get her a drug while Gabriella sits in wait at the bench.

INVISIBLE CONTRACT

* It's been over ten minutes and yet the young man hasn't arrived, he's delaying me😣* Gabriella thought as she looks at her phone's screen

*but why did he seem familiar to me? and why was he staring at my neck?🤔*

*ugh, he's wasting my time* she grunts inwardly

*no wait, I'm perfectly fine, why am I waiting for him?, I should just go, but if I do that he will be more worried and feel more guilty. Well looks like I'm waiting. But still I can't get it over my heard that he looks familiar, his prescence gives me a familiar vibe, like I know him from somewhere or something like that. And why was he staring at the mark in my neck? *

~Few minutes later~

*hmp, I'm so tired of waiting for him, I'm sure my injury must have healed already.Wait, could it be that he ran away?.* checks her phone again

~gasps~

*It's almost time for dinner, I have to go now* as she stood up to leave a hand held her back restricting her movement

" I thought I told you to wait for me😒 " a familiar voice came from behind sounding half annoyed, as she looked back slowly she saw the boy in the mask, unsure of his expression since the mask covered half of his face she concluded that he was annoyed.

"I know but you took so much time, now I'm almost late for dinner" she made a fair point

"Is food really more important than your health?" he asked

"But if I don't eat I won't be healthy🙄" she makes another annoying fair point.

" hmp!😤" Henry huramphed as he gently pulls her back to the bench making her sit. He kneels with a knee, his eyes on her hurt foot

"Give me your foot." He said calmly, like he was never annoyed. The calmness of his voice would make anyone comfortable around him. He was so focused and this made Gabriella wonder if he was really beating himself up because of a small injury.

He gently grabs her foot, massages it slowly and gently pours an oil on it and simply bandaged it.

*His palm is so soft, feels like he never touched anything before* Gabriella thought as she admires his skills. But he isn't using a hospital oil on me

"This isn't a hospital oil" she sounded sure of what she was saying

"Yes, this is an ancient oil used in healing small injuries and bone fracture, I couldn't get to the hospital because of the crowd so I simply went home to grab some of this. It will at most take 2 hours to heal your injury completely". He said looking at the leg he was bandaging." He stood up as soon as he was done

*Maybe he could be good at basketball and he can become my coach as a compensation, yes!, yes!* 😈she grinned inwardly

"well miss I'm done, next time look properly before you walk ok? , now I have to get going is there anything else you want?"

*well, I did it this time, saving a not-so-cute girl whom I also injured,😓* he thought inwardly tired of the situation

"Yes, I mean do you intend to leave me here in a dark and lonely place, Someone could kidnap me or something else could hurt me 🥺" she said supporting her speech with a puppy dog eyes.

" ... "

*so much for the not-so-cutecute girl I saved,🤦* he facepalms himself

"Miss there are lot of things wrong with your statement ; firstly, it's still bright out here, secondly, there are alot of people passing by nothing could possibly happen to you, thirdly, you're an adult no one will kidnap you, they would adult-nap you instead and lastly I know you're perfectly fine so you have self defense against anything or anyone who tries to hurt you" He made his clear point

*I don't know what he's thinking under that head but it won't work unless you teach me basketball 🏀*

"So what's your point?🤨"

"All I'm saying is that there's no way anyone could harm you when people are around."

as soon as he finished talking an old lady came and sat beside Gabriella

"Oh ma gosh😍, teenage lovers doing their stuff is indeed a sight to behold🤭, sorry for the interruption, but boy please take good care of her she's looking horrible😉" the old lady giggles as she finished teasing them

*😓, I don't even Know this woman* Henry thought

"See, you've got a company" Henry said pointing at the old lady

"You caused this so you must take care of me 😑" Gabriella agued

*What have I gotten myself into , I even healed her with a rare potion she's not grateful for that😭*

"Now I know what's going on🧐 , he wants to break up with you but you ain't ready, I can't really blame you he's got really pretty eyes and you're not so good looking😟, try taking care of yourself ok?😏" the old woman teased again

*ma'am you're not helping at all,😩* Henry thought

"ugh...😕" Gabriella made a face showing she was clueless about what's going on

"oops my ride is here bye😁" the old woman bid her good bye before leaving

"Fine what do you want? 😒" he asked reluctantly

"please hurry up I'm almost late for an appointment" he added

*appointment?*

"ok, I'll go straight to the point, do you know how to do sports "

"Yeah, sure" he said with a flat tone

"Do you Know about basketball?" she asked eagerly waiting for an answer

"Ye....ah, the thing is that I'm bad at playing them but I'm one of the best coach there is, at least that's what my friends told me🙄"

"...😑" she made a stupid face

" what?, if you're looking for a coach I can coach you, you have to try before complaint"

"But I didn't say anything😶"

"exactly"

*I guess I'm stuck with this weirdo, not like I have any choice,I might as well give it a try.*

"ok so when do we start" she asked

"Maybe tommorrow, I'll give you my contact and address"

"How do I know you won't give me fake contact and address"

"Did you hit your head or something?"🤔

"Relax, where I come from handshake is an unbreakable promise" Gabriella hesitates before finally shaking hands with him.

"Ok, bye, I've gotta go"

"Wait I haven't even gotten your name yet"

"I'm Henry"

"I'm Gabriella" they shake hands again

"Say Gabriella, don't you have dinner to catch-up to?"

Gabriella gasps

"that's true, bye" she runs off and stops a taxi, boards it and leave.

"She's gone, what a pretty interesting and annoying girl. Damnit I forgot to give her my contact and address😳. Well I guess I'll meet her here tommorow" He said as he hopped on his bicycle and ride off.
