Sitting in a restaurant, Sanjana was waiting for her best friend, Rohan Verma. She wanted to meet him and his daughter.

They both have been friends for the past 3 years. Sanjana first met him at her Mom's party. Both became friends, he was 17 back then and Sanjana was 15. Now he's 20 and she is 18. When he was 18, he impregnated a girl, and Her name was Tara Singh. She wasn't a good girl. She had cheated on him a number of times. He always forgives her. He was a man who believes in second chances, but she doesn't deserve it. He took full responsibility for the situation and promised to take care of the child, but she turned out as a complete bitch and tried to abort the baby without his knowledge, but Rohan didn't let that happen. He paid her with a good sum of money, she many times tried to abort the child, Rohan was smart, he put a caretaker and maid around her, to make sure she doesn't do anything stupid. After she had given birth to the child, he took care of that baby alone. He raised her as a single Father with nobody's help. Tara didn't even hold her baby once. She walked away with the money he gave.

So, Yeah, he has a daughter of 2 years old. She is a very cute little girl. He named her Riya Verma. She is a very cute little girl. Sanjana called and asked him to meet her. He said as usual "I'm busy, Can't Meet you"

(God, I hate those words.) Sanjana growled in irritation.

She begged him to meet her. She missed him and his daughter so much.

After pleading and begging him he finally said ok and I decided on the place and time.

She loved his company. She just wanted to spend time with him and his cute little daughter. It has been so long that She didn't meet him.

So there she was in a restaurant, sitting at her table waiting for him. She told him to meet her at eight. It's 8:40 now, Still no sign of him. Pulling her phone out of her pocket, she dialled his number; she was about to call him then she saw him coming inside with

his daughter in his arms, she saw me, jumped from his arms and ran towards me.

"Hey, Riya how are you doing?" lifting her up Sanjana said.

"Me? Fine, you?" She said, smiling at Sanjana.

"I'm good," Sanjana said kissing her cheek.

"I'm sorry for making you wait Sanju." he said, hugging Sanjana.

"It's okay." Sanjana smiled, kissing him on his left cheek.

They ordered their meal, After some time the waiter brought them their meal. All of them started digging in.

"How's work going on?" Sanjana asked.

"It's going fine, dad's secretary Mr. Ajeet was helping and guiding me in many things. I'm just nervous about the new project I'm working on right now." Rohan replied.

"Don't stress about it Ro, I know you'll do good" Sanjana squeezed his hand.

"Thank you, Sanju" He said.

"Sunng" Riya pulled the hem of Sanjana's top, pointing at the group who was singing on the stage. When Sanjana visits his house, she sing songs and rhymes for Riya, Riya also dances when Sanju sing, It's so cute to watch her dance.

(I read somewhere that singing songs would help kids to speak early and make them active.) Sanjana thought.

She looked up to see the band on stage, playing a slow song. She was watching the lead singer; she has a very good voice. Sanju saw her somewhere she couldnt remember but she feel like she knew her.

The singer's gaze fell on Sanjana, and she smiled.

Rohit saw Sanjana's confused face, and asked, "Do you know her?".

"No...But I feel like I saw her somewhere, I can't remember where."

He turned to her, watching her.

"Sanju, go sing," Riya said pointing at the stage, Sanju smiled at her. Bending over, she said.

"I'm not their band member, I cannot go there and sing Riya, it's rude."

"Please..." she requested with her big baby brown eyes.

"Riya baby, she is not their band member. How can she go there and sing dear? She doesn't know them, I promise I'll make her sing a song after our dinner okay" Rohan took her hand and kissed it.

"Daddy promise?" She grinned.

Nodding to her, "Daddy Promise" he grinned.

Sanjana smiled at them;

(Rohan is the best father I have ever seen before.) Sanjana thought.

Anybody who sees their relationship will say that a thousand times because he's really a very good father, he never made her cry. He gave her his time and love, Even when he's busy with lots of work he would run to her when she's sad. Sanjana always craved that kind of love, She missed it terribly.

After finishing the song, The lead singer waved at Sanjana signalling her to come onto the stage.

It confused her. Normally bands never call a stranger to the stage to sing when they are performing.

“Everyone.... Meet my friend Sanjana Divakar. She is a very good singer too, let's hear her" she announced.

(Friend? I don't even know her, why is she lying. Who is she? Do I know her? If I do then why can't I remember her?) Sanjana thought.

Everyone was looking at her, and she was feeling nervous.

(I don't know her and she just announced my name, asking me to sing.) Sanjana panicked.

She turned to look at Rohan, he was encouraging her to go. Riya was grinning and gesturing her to go, She stood up, she was trying hard not to show her nervousness on hee face, but her legs were weak. It was hard for her to move them, and she feel like she was lifting a huge rock. She slowly began to walk to the stage. Her hands were sweating and shaking. She climbed up on the stage and took a deep breath and smiled at everyone hiding her nervousness, with her shaking hands she took the mike from the singer, she smiled at Sanjana which confused her more.

(Why on Earth is she asking me to sing? How did she know that I sing? How did she know my name? )So many questions were running in Sanjana's mind, but she had no answers to them.

Like the lightning bolt Sanjana remembered her, she was there when Sanju sang on an occasion. Where Sanju's mom was a host, her name was Fiza Khan, her mom's boss treated her like his daughter. Sanju's mother told him that she can sing, so he requested her to perform, So she did. Fiza was a guest there; she saw her singing and praised her. She don't personally know her, only once She met her and she never saw her after that. She didn't say anything to her. Sanju turned around to face the people who were curious to hear her sing.

She looked at Riya and smiled.

Her innocent face relaxed her nerves a bit.

She remembered the song which she recently liked, Looking at every one maintaining eye contact with them, she was clearing her throat.

She closed her eyes while doing the high note, her nerves were popping out on her neck. Pressing more she sang out on her neck. Pressing more she sang without breaking.

When She opened her eyes, everyone stood up and She was greeted by applause from the crowd, praising her for her skills and voice.

"Thank you," She said shyly, Fiza came to her and hugged her.

"You sing so well, It was amazing to watch you sing like an angel dear."

"Thank you," She smiled, walking back to her table she saw Rohan clapping and smiling at her, she sat down on her chair.

“You know you have a beautiful voice, if you utilise it you can be a popular singer, make it as your passion and career Vanessa," he said.

Sanjana just smiled at him.

"You sing well," Riya said and kissed her on her right cheek,

"what's that song called?" He asked taking a spoon of his meal.

"It's Desert Rose"

"Is it a new song?"

"Yes, I think it released recently."

"Love it," Riya said, looking at her.

Sanju smiled at her, "Oh...So, my Riya liked the song hm... Then I have to sing it every time I come to your home!" She said, tapping her chin.

"Yes, yes," Riya said with excitement.

"Okay, I will sing this song for you, and you have to dance for me then deal?"

Nodding and grinning "Deal," she replied and Sanju grinned.
