KAI!" I jolted awake at the shout, bolting upright in bed as my heart pounded in my chest.
The room was dark and still, but I could feel the sweat on my brow and the sheets tangled around my legs. I panted for a moment, trying to calm my racing thoughts, before gingerly swinging my legs over the edge of the bed and rubbing the sleep from my eyes. As the realization that it was just a dream washed over me, I let out a sigh of relief.
Still shaken from the nightmare that woke me up, I stood up and made my way to the door, trying to shake off the lingering feeling of unease. This place was called the Kilef Hotel, located in Guinn Village - the oldest village in the world, and home to a diverse array of species living together.
As I descended the stairs, the noise and activity of the bar hit me like a wave. Tables and chairs were arranged throughout the room, and all around me, creatures were drinking, eating, chatting, laughing, and shouting. I made my way to an empty table and sat down, feeling overwhelmed by the sensory overload.
Suddenly, Ree - a bunny human waitress - approached me. She had brown eyes, stood about the same height as me, and was dressed in a yellow outfit. She took out a small notepad and pen from her pocket and smiled at me.
"Kai," she shouted and ran over to me.
She took the seat next to me, her brown eyes filled with concern.
"How's your sleep? Still experiencing nightmares?"
I didn't answer, instead looking at the menu to decide on my order.
"Still cold-blooded?" She said with a teasing smile, resting her hand on the table and propping her head up with her other hand.
I looked at her and replied, "Just a beef steak and coffee, the usual."
She nodded, jotting down my order in her notepad.
"You win again. Just wait for your order," she said before taking her leave.
As I waited, I looked around the bar, taking in all the sights and sounds. The smells of cooking food and alcohol filled the air, and the clanging of glasses and the laughter of patrons filled my ears.
After several minutes, Ree returned to my table, a bright smile on her face as she approached. She carefully set down a tray with my usual order, the warm plates and mug of coffee steamy and inviting.
"Here you go, Kai," Ree said cheerfully, her eyes sparkling as she watched me dig in.
I began to eat, but Ree didn't linger for long. She quickly turned and waved goodbye to a few of the other customers before disappearing behind the counter again.
As I sat at the table, I couldn't help but feel like I was being watched. When I looked up, I saw a woman in a red robe with a hood covering her head and a wand at her side. She had been staring at me and sipping on a beer since I walked into the room. The logo on her robe caught my attention - it was a white horse with wands crossed behind it. I recognized the logo and felt a strong aura emanating from her.
After I finished eating, I returned to my room. The girl's stare seemed to follow me as I walked. It was like she wanted to attack me. When I reached my room, I realized that I had forgotten to light the candle. I grabbed it from my bag under the bed and lit it, keeping my back to the door as I sensed the woman's aura outside. Suddenly, there was a knock on the door.
"Who are you?" I called out.
But instead of answering, the girl knocked again.
"I won't open the door unless you tell me who you are," I said firmly.
To my surprise, the door opened even though I had locked it. I had no idea how the girl managed to do it.
She looked at me with a disgusted expression.
"Didn't your dad teach you enough?" she sneered.
I was taken aback. How did she know about my dad? Did she even know him?
"Do you know my dad?" I asked, my voice tinged with anger.
The woman didn't respond, but instead smirked. She walked towards the window and I backed away, keeping my distance.
"I didn't know your dad had a child," she said, looking up at the sky with a confused smile.
"Children," I corrected her.
She laughed.
"So you're still not that aware," she sneered.
Not aware of what? What she talking about? Did she not know about my brother?
"What are you talking about?" I asked, I'm really confused what she said,
"You will know, but now, " She replied,
"I don't think, I'm the right person to tell it," she added,
Where are your swords?" She demanded, her piercing eyes scanning my body as she searched for the weapons.
I was puzzled by her question. Why did she want my swords? Was she here for them? I immediately tensed, suspecting that she might attack me at any moment. But I also urgently wanted to know more about my dad.
"Do you know where my dad is?" I asked, hoping for some answers.
"You're so irritating, so many questions," she snapped, her face showing her irritation. She strode towards me, standing tall and staring me in the eyes.
"Do you even know what your swords are?"
"I think one of them is Paladin's sword," I said cautiously.
"Did you know that Paladin had many swords?" she asked, her voice hushed and intense.
"I don't really know," I whispered, feeling out of my depth.
"Well, let me tell you something," she said, her voice dripping with disdain.
"Your swords are more than just weapons. They are symbols of your heritage, your legacy. And if you don't know that, then you don't deserve to wield them."
She took a step closer to me, her eyes blazing with anger.
I swallowed hard, feeling the weight of her auras and words. I had always known that my swords were special, but I had never realized just how important they were.
She walked over to the bed, her footsteps echoing on the hardwood floor. She sat down with a heavy sigh and shook her head.
"This is really not a good idea," she muttered.
I had no idea who this girl was or what her intentions were. I was completely confused, especially since she kept mentioning my dad. What was their relationship?
"You!" she said, pointing at me with a stern finger.
"What's your name?"
"Kai," I replied, trying to keep my voice steady.
"Yours?"
"Darn it, I have no choice," she shouted, throwing her hands up in frustration.
"Orion, my name is Orion."
She looks at me.
What's your reason for this journey?" she asked, her curious eyes scanning my face.
"I'm looking for my family and friends," I replied, wondering why she was asking me these questions.
"Well, how about we find them together?" she offered, extending her hand for a handshake.
I hesitated, wondering if it was a good idea to accept.
"Why do you want to find them?" I asked, not wanting to blindly trust her.
"Okay, the truth is, your dad and I were part of a team together," she said, moving to reveal the logo on her shirt.
"The Paladin's Warriors."
I recognize the logo from one of my dad's uniforms.
"But then he suddenly retired. A few years later, I heard that their house was raided by unknown attackers and when I arrived, there was no sign of either of them. I suspected they were kidnapped, so I made a promise to myself to find your dad."
I felt a pang of sadness in my chest, knowing that this was also the reason I had set out on this journey to find my loved ones. I sat down on the bed next to her, my shoulders sagging with the weight of my emotions.
"We'll find him," I said, offering her a reassuring smile.
Up close, I could see that Orion was actually quite cute. She was about my height, with brown eyes and short, blue hair. She smiled back at me, her eyes lighting up.
"Thank you, Kai," she said, her smile growing wider.
"I really appreciate it. I've been searching for so long and it's been tough going at it alone. I'm glad to have someone to help me."
She stood up and offered her hand to me again.
"So, do you accept my offer to join me on this journey to find your dad?"
I hesitated for a moment, still unsure if I should fully trust her. But something in her eyes convinced me that she was sincere in her desire to find my dad. And I knew that I needed all the help I could get on my own journey.
"Yes," I said, taking her hand in mine and shaking it firmly.
"I accept your offer."
I couldn't shake the feeling that I couldn't fully trust this woman, despite the powerful aura that I could sense emanating from her. She seemed to be keeping something from me, and I couldn't shake the feeling that there was more to this situation than she was letting on.
"Another day, by the Nevel Lake," she said, gazing out the window at the clear blue sky.
The lake was surrounded by lush green forests, and the sun's rays sparkled on the water's surface.
"I heard two men talking."
"What were they talking about?" I asked, curious.
"The Eternity Orb," she replied.
"The Eternity Orb? What were they saying?" I asked, still confused.
"They said it's still out there, and their master wants it," she explained.
The Eternity Orb. According to legend, it was a mythical object that had existed for millions of years, imbued with unimaginable power. But I had always been told that it was shattered during the Eternity War, when the kingdom of Advalcon and the neighboring kingdom of Qiulyo fought over it.
I was shocked by this news. Was it possible that the Eternity Orb was still out there, even though it was shattered?
"I thought it was broken?" I asked, confused.
"Why would their master want to find it if it's broken?"
"I think they believe Lord Cormac lied about the orb being broken, so there's no one else planning to find it," she said, her face serious as she continued to gaze at the sky.
"That's insane," I exclaimed, unable to believe what I was hearing.
"Why would Lord Cormac lie about something like that?"
"I don't know," she replied, her voice laced with suspicion.
The Eternity War was sparked by the pursuit of the Eternity Orb, with Lord Galen of Qiulyo determined to take it from Lord Cormac of Advalcon. However, after Lord Cormac emerged victorious and killed Lord Galen, he claimed that the Eternity Orb had been shattered during the war. It seems that this statement has been called into question, as there are now rumors circulating that the orb may still exist and that Lord Cormac may have lied about its destruction.
"But the fact that these men are willing to go to such lengths to find it, tells me that there must be something special about it," she said, her eyes narrowing as she spoke.
I couldn't help but feel a sense of unease wash over me at the thought of this mythical object being pursued by unknown forces. The fact that this woman, who exuded power and confidence, was still wary of the situation only added to my anxiety. I knew that I had to be careful and stay alert if I wanted to make it out of this alive.
"What should we do?" I asked, feeling a sense of urgency.
"We need to find out more about the Eternity Orb," she said, determination etched into her features.
"We can't let it fall into the wrong hands. The consequences could be catastrophic."
I nodded, knowing that she was right. We needed to uncover the truth about the Eternity Orb and put a stop to whatever nefarious plans were in motion.
As I frantically try to make sense of the situation and wonder about the identity of the mysterious master mentioned by Orion I am with, I can't help but feel a sense of dread wash over me. If this unknown person manages to obtain the Eternity Orb, it could have disastrous consequences for the world. Just as these thoughts are running through my head, Orion suddenly leaps to the window.
"Hey!" I shout, startled.
I quickly rush to the window and see Orion running towards the road, chasing after a man who is dressed all in black and wearing a hat. Without hesitation, I grab my bag and sprint after them. However, when I return to the window to try and locate them, they are nowhere to be found. Desperate for a way to track them down, I shout out the word,
"Scan!" and cast a spell.
"Spell: Scan - It is a spell that allows you to see the aura of all people within range clearly."
I wait anxiously for the spell to take effect, hoping it will help me locate Orion and the man she is chasing. After a few tense seconds, I am able to sense Orion's aura moving to the east, as if she is engaged in some kind of confrontation.
I also detect another aura that seems similar to Orion's, but not quite as strong. Without hesitation, I jump out the window and set off towards the east, determined to find out what is happening and do whatever I can to help.
As I run towards the east, a man suddenly appears in front of me, dressed in similar clothing to the man that Orion was chasing. I come to a halt and focus on Orion's aura, sensing that she is engaged in some kind of battle.
However, as I turn my attention to the man in front of me, I realize that his aura is similar to Orion's, but not as strong. I can't help but wonder what this means and what role this man may be playing in the situation.
Summoning: Golem Lord!" He cast the spell and a huge golem emerged from the ground.
I had no choice but to fight.
"Out! Luminesce and Obscura!" My two swords, Luminesce the light sword wielded by the Paladin, and Obscura the dark sword, appeared before me.
I was surprised when the Golem Lord stood before me, its rock arm raised and ready to strike. I quickly grabbed my swords and jumped back,
I tried to sneak a peek at Orion's aura as she continued to fight against the five men, but the golem was standing in front of me again, its massive fists clenched and ready to strike. I knew that this guy was serious, and I knew that I had to be on my guard if I wanted to make it out of this alive.
"Obscura, Dark Slice!" I shouted, swinging my dark sword with all my might.
The blade cut through the golem's thick hide with ease, slicing a deep gash in its body. The golem crumpled to the ground, its body lifeless and still.
The man's face contorted with frustration as he saw his golem fall. He signaled to someone, and suddenly four more men appeared, surrounding me on all sides. I knew that I was in for a tough fight, but I was ready to do whatever it took to protect Orion and defeat our enemies.
As the men closed in on me, I felt a surge of panic wash over me. I wasn't sure if I could take them all on, but I had to try. I couldn't just stand there and do nothing while Orion was in danger. I gritted my teeth and readied myself for the fight that was about to come.
The men unsheathed their small swords and slowly approached me, their eyes fixed on me with determination. I could feel their eagerness to engage in combat, and I knew that I had no choice but to defend myself.
"Agility!" They shouted in unison, casting a spell that boosted their speed and reflexes.
Strength!" They shouted again, casting another spell that gave them increased strength.
One of them was the first to strike, but I managed to dodge his attack with a quick sidestep. However, two more attackers were coming at me from my right side, and I knew that I had to act quickly if I wanted to survive.
"Luminesce, Dash!" I shouted, using my light sword and to teleport behind them. I emerged from the shimmering portal just out of their reach, my heart racing with adrenaline as I prepared to face off against my enemies.
"Obscura, Multiples Blades!" I shouted as the shadowy entity at my back sprang into action, teleporting and splitting into a multitude of clones that encircled the men.
The men were caught off guard, their eyes widening with shock as they frantically placed their small swords against their backs in a desperate attempt to defend themselves.
It was clear that they were trying to escape, their fear of my sword, Obscura, evident on their faces. The entire village was thrown into chaos as people rushed to get as far away from the confrontation as possible.
"Obscura, Charge!" I commanded, sending the shadowy clones charging towards the men.
But the men were prepared, their hands moving in a blur as they cast a spell that summoned a swirling black shadow beneath them. It seemed to open up and swallow them whole, allowing them to escape through its darkness.
Despite Obscura's best efforts, the men managed to slip away just in time. The shadowy clones struck the ground where the men had been standing, sinking into the earth as the men vanished into the shadows.
I stood for a moment, panting heavily as I tried to catch my breath.
"Get back, Luminesce and Obscura!" I shouted, casting a spell that caused my magical companions to disappear. Oh God, where was Orion?
"Scan!" I cried out, activating my spell that allowed me to locate Orion's aura.
I saw it again, my spell working perfectly, and I could see that they were still fighting. I raced towards the edge of the village, where the battle was taking place.
Two men lay unconscious on the ground, and the three remaining fighters were panting heavily, including Orion. I raised my hand and prepared to cast a spell.
"Shockwave!" I shouted, summoning a huge shockwave that sent the three men flying.
Orion took advantage of the distraction and swiftly stabbed one of them, while the other two fled, jumping onto the roof in an attempt to escape.
We chased after them, but when we reached the roof, they were nowhere to be found. They had vanished into the shadows.
"Damn it!" She yelled, her face contorted with anger and frustration.
I looked around at the roof that surrounded us, trying to understand why these men were attacking us and who they were.
"Maybe these are the men I heard talking," she said, her expression serious. "I think they noticed me and want me out of the way."
"So their master wants you to get killed?" I asked, my mind racing with the implications.
If these were the unknown groups who were after the orb, they were extremely dangerous. We had to find them and stop them, or the world could be doomed.
We were walking through the forest on our way to Advalcon, the kingdom where the Eternity Orb was shattered. Orion said she needed to go there to meet a friend, and they had planned to meet in Advalcon.
As we walked through the dense, green forest, the sunlight filtering through the leaves above cast a dappled pattern on the ground beneath our feet. The air was cool and refreshing, and the sound of birds chirping filled the air.
"So, why you don-" I stopped speaking when one of the men punched Orion.
She quickly covered her face with her hand and flew off into the trees. I tried to intervene, but before I could, my vision went black.
I tried to look at my hands, but I could still see them - it seemed like the world around me had gone dark, rather than my vision being impaired. I suspected that this might be some kind of spell that could transport people to other dimensions - the "Dark Special Skill: Dimension Realm."
Every person has their own unique Dimension Realm, but not everyone can use it. As I stood in the pitch-black Dimension Realm, I couldn't see anything except the endless darkness that surrounded me.
My eyes strained to locate the owner of this Dimension World, but all I saw was the emptiness. The air was still and quiet, the only sound coming from the faint whisper of a voice calling my name.
"Kai," the voice whispered, its tone low and hushed.
I turned in the direction of the sound, but I couldn't see anyone. I wondered if they were able to conceal themselves, hiding in the shadows.
But why wouldn't they attack me ?Could it be that they were unable to attack me? I tensed up at the thought, my body instinctively preparing for a fight.
"Where are you?" I shouted, my voice echoing in the empty space.
"Why don't you attack?" I asked, my tone laced with tension.
The person just laughed in response, their chuckles bouncing off the walls of the Dimension World. It seemed that they couldn't attack me, but perhaps they were just trying to buy time while they went after Orion.
"One of our men said that you were dangerous," the man said, their voice dripping with amusement. "He said you have the sword of the Demon Lord."
"You mean, Obscura?" I replied, my voice laced with confusion.
"So, that guy named the sword Obscura?" the man laughed.
"Who is this guy?" I asked, trying to piece together the context of the situation
As I stood in the dark Dimension World, the sound of the person's cackling laughter grated on my nerves. I wanted nothing more than to escape this place and help Orion, but I couldn't seem to come up with any plans. The only way out was to kill the caster, but I didn't know how to do that.
"Out! Luminesce and Obscura!" I shouted, summoning my two swords. They materialized in front of me, their blades glowing with a bright and dark light, respectively. My eyes narrowed in determination.
"What will happen if the Light and Dark are combined?" I asked, trying to bait them into revealing something useful.
But the person just laughed, clearly knowing the answer.
"Light and Dark can't be combined. Never!" They chuckled, their amusement palpable.
I smirked, frustration mounting inside me.
"But I asked what would happen," I said, trying to push for an answer.
"I know they can't be combined."
I was confident that I had thought of a way to expose the person and find a way out of this mess.
"Luminesce and Obscura, Combine," I commanded, determined to find a way out of this Dimension World.
When you use the combine skill with a Light sword and a Dark sword, it creates a massive explosion and shockwave with a range akin to a nuclear blast.
"No!!" He shouted, his eyes wide with fear.
A huge explosion rocked the place, the force of it knocking me off my feet. The man was hit by the blast and I could finally see him. He had been able to conceal himself before, but the explosion was enough to expose him. It's hard to attack someone I can't see, but by combining Luminesce and Obscura, I was able to create a blast powerful enough to expose him.
I ran up to him and he leapt to his feet, ready to defend himself. I lunged at him with a slice, but he jumped back. I called upon luminesce and sent it flying off to my right side as I rushed over to the man, extending my palm in a flat plane.
"Heart Implode!" I yelled. My eyes flickered to a deep red with a hint of black.
In my hand, the man's heart materialized.
"You're done," I breathed and gave him a swift kick, causing him to tumble and fall.
I just needed to take his blood for my Obscura, which was needing to consume the Heart Implode. Just before I could crush his heart in my palm, I had to get his blood to fuel Obscura. The blood of humans is the nourishment Obscura needed and the Heart Implode required lots of aura, but I was unsure if Obscura had enough. Thus, I stabbed him and Obscura began to feast.
"Goodbye," I uttered, as I smashed his heart in my hand.
As I focus my gaze, my eyes shift back to their natural green color and I find myself transported back to the Forest.
"Get back, Luminesce and Obscura!" I scream, waving my hand as I cast a spell that sends my two magical companions disappearing into thin air.
I know that every time I use Obscura, it drains a significant amount of my aura, so I need to make it disappear as quickly as possible.
Feeling a sharp pain, I realize that Obscura has taken a lot more from me than I had anticipated. My hand comes away from my forehead covered in blood.
"Orion!" I yell, recalling the name of another one of my companions.
"Scan!" I shout, casting a spell.
I can see their aura from here, As I run through the forests, my heart pounding in my chest, I can't help but wonder what fate holds in store for us as we pursue the truth about the Eternity Orb.
I continue to follow the auras of Orion and the man as I run through the forests, my heart pounding in my chest. The man in black seems to be moving erratically, as if he is trying to shake off Orion's pursuit. I can sense her determination and focus as she follows him, determined to catch him and uncover the truth about the Eternity Orb.
As I run, I can't help but wonder about the identity of this mysterious master who wants the Eternity Orb. Who are they, and what do they want with this mythical object? The thought of it falling into the wrong hands fills me with dread.
Suddenly, I hear a loud crash up ahead and I quicken my pace, worried that Orion may be in danger. As I round a corner, I see her standing in front of a large tree, her fists clenched and her eyes narrowed. The man in black is lying at her feet, unconscious.
"Is he...dead?" I ask, panting as I catch up to her.
"No, just unconscious," Orion replies, her expression grim. "We need to find out what he knows about the Eternity Orb. Help me tie him up."
I nod and quickly gather some rope from my bag, helping Orion bind the man's hands and feet. Once he is secure, we search him for any clues about his identity or his connection to the Eternity Orb. However, we find nothing on him except for a small, intricately carved pendant with the symbol of the kingdom of Qiulyo etched into it.
"It looks like he may be working for Lord Galen's follower," Orion says, her eyes narrowed as she examines the pendant.
"Reel!" she shouts, and a massive black cage materializes out of the ground.
"Help me, put him in the cage," she says, gesturing to the unconscious man lying at our feet.
I know that Reel is a powerful sealing spell that renders its target unable to use any skills or abilities, even if they are still conscious.
"We need to take this man back to Advalcon and find out more about his involvement with the Eternity Orb," she explains, her voice urgent.
"It's the only way we'll be able to stop whatever plans they have in motion."
"Reel, go back!" she shouts, and the cage disappears as quickly as it had appeared.
I nod, understanding the gravity of the situation. We have to get to the bottom of this mystery, no matter what it takes.
As we make our way back to Advalcon, I can't help but feel a sense of unease wash over me. The discovery of the man in black and his connection to the kingdom of Qiulyo only adds to my concerns about the Eternity Orb. I can't shake the feeling that there is more to this situation than we realize, and that we may be walking into a trap.
