Heaven's App

Heaven's App, what?

Hey!

A voice of a man was continuously reverberating through his ear.

"Hey! Liam, wake up!"

"Huh? What?" Liam woke up half-heartedly from his deep slumber.

"What 'what'? That damned teacher is already here, stupid...!" A student near him went near his ear and muttered to him with a low voice.

"Hng. Just let me sleep for a few minutes... Wake me up after three minutes, okay?"

"You crazy motherfu–"

"STAND UP!"

A loud, thunderous roar which you only hear in movies echoed throughout the whole room. A woman with her sharp-glaring eyes and her fairly voluptuous body stood firmly in the front end of the room.

After hearing her exclaimed, all the students besides Liam immediately stood up and looked at the blackboard without letting a second passed.

"Sit! Have you already finished the things I wanted you to do?"

"Yes, miss Aria!"

"Question. What did the historian from..." The lady trailed off his words.

As if she just witnessed an unforgivable crime, she looked at one of the students sitting with disdain. She walked towards near the student and stopped besides without looking at him.

"Name of this student?" After letting a question flow out from her mouth, she simply glanced at the empty air.

"L-Liam Keene, miss..." The student near her answered.

"Hmph. LIAM KEENE!"

"GAH! M-Miss, good... Good afternoon." Liam quickly swept the saliva near his mouth, stood up, and bowed his head after rousing from his nap made by the ear-shattering call of his name.

"You dare sleep in my class! Get out of the room, stand up with your arms wide open, and prepare to call your parents in the school!"

SHUT!

Liam was kicked out of the room and was forced to stand up in the corridor.

"Ka–! That damned icy woman! Is she teasing me? Doesn't she know that I don't have any parents?" He was irritatingly upset.

"Why didn't my classmate wake me up? Damn it, now I'm suffering."

𝘿𝙞𝙣𝙜!

As if to let him have an idea to cure his irritation and boredom, his phone rang. He looked left and right, there were no students and teachers. He stared at the entrance door of his room and at the exit. It was closed.

He smiled.

"Maybe I should just rest and play games with my phone. Yeah, that's not a problem." After deciding what he should do, he opened the phone and looked at the contents inside.

His eyes widened.

"Eh, what's this app? EH!? WHERE'S ALL MY OTHER APP!" He swiped and swiped till his phone almost fall down. He swiped left and right, up and down, but he couldn't find all the things he wanted to find.

'Not even the settings app is here...'

There's only an unfamiliar app.

"This must be a glitch. Not cool. And what even is this app?" He complained of disappointment before he chose to open the app.

Ding!

"Oh, so this is the one that rang earlier."

After a few seconds, the black screen turned white with a smooth transition.

And the content inside once again made his eyes widen.

"Heaven's App, what?"

Without even a second happening, a text appeared within the screen at the same time as a monotonic voice echoed from the phone.

[Do you want a parent even for a short while? Or do you want a classmate to wake you up sometimes?]

"What the fu-" In the middle of his talking, or cursing, the text and the voice barged in.

[If you want both, then you're already prepared to use the app.]

"What the fu–"

[Initiating all the contents...]

[One content loaded.]

[Store]

[Initiating other contents...]

"What in the world is this? How did this app know I don't have parents and an alarm classmate? Is this FBI? I'm not into lolis tho." He was confused by the information that the unknown app showed and questioned and he was also confused by the app's content and processing.

What sort of app would work and begin the content by itself or without the touch of the owner? And it only have one use!

"This is lame. Why did the glitch have to be like this? It would have been better if it's a glitched game where my player is overpowered." He was upset but this is the only app he currently have.

"I have no choice though. I just have to fiddle with this app before I got rid of my boredom."

Just as he told himself, he pressed the store. He was about to see the contents of the store but the voicing text appeared again.

[The Heaven's App is still a prototype version so opening the store has a cheap cost. Does the user want to accept by paying the cheap cost?]

"Damn it. Okay, accept. what even is the cheap cost? 30 seconds of advertisement? This is getting really lame."

[Accepted.]

[In a short while, the user will be teleported to another world.]

"Ah, so this is actually a game! I'm glad." He chuckled as he realized it, thinking that the transition of starting the game was actually good.

'Another world, huh. Is this an RPG?'

After thinking a few predictions of the theme of the game, he heard the shout of his teacher inside his classroom and the voices of his classmates.

"Eh?"

Then the school bell rang.

"It's just five minutes! Why the hell did the bell already ring!" Liam panicked.

He was supposed to stand up in the corridor but he was sitting at the bench in the near garden instead.

'Shit!'

He immediately ran towards the corridor while the door slowly opened.

He was about to prepare his standing posture, but perhaps, he's a godforsaken existence, he slipped and fell on the floor.

'God fucking damn it!'

Tap!

Liam stopped his movements. He saw his teacher's foot coming out from the door.

'I'm dead...'

The teacher wholely came out of the room. She looked left and right with her dreadful demeanor before his expression turned grave.

"That kid! He actually ran away from me!"

Liam tilted his head while still crouching on the floor.

"Eh...?"

[Preparation complete.]

[The new world has been chosen.]

[Teleporting the user into another world.]

"What?"

Liam stared fixedly at his phone, then he noticed that his hands to his arms were distorted.

"Are you fucking kidding me..."

His vision went blank.

Déjà Vu

Hey!

A voice of a man was continuously reverberating through his ear.

"Hey! Liam, wake up!"

"Huh? What?" Liam woke up from his deep slumber.

His body was somewhat stiff and sweaty and his expression was a bit troubled.

"What 'what'? The damned teacher is already here, stupid." A student near him went near his ear and muttered things at him with a low voice.

"Huh? What?" After hearing his classmate talked, he was confused.

'Is this what you call the Déjà Vu?'

𝘿𝙞𝙣𝙜!

He was bothered when the phone inside his pocket rang so he pulled it out and checked it. After seeing the notification on the screen, he frowned.

[Welcome back, user.]

'No way... This is definitely not a Déjà Vu. I remember now. This is that crazy app!'

"Hey, hide your phone, you crazy motherfu–"

"STAND UP!"

A loud, thunderous roar which you only hear in movies echoed throughout the whole room. It was a familiar woman who have her sharp-glaring eyes and her fairly voluptuous body standing firmly in the front end of the room.

After hearing her exclaimed, all the students, besides Liam who was surprised and dropped his phone, immediately stood up and looked at the blackboard without letting a second passed.

"Sit! Have you already finished the things I wanted you to do?"

"Yes, miss Aria!"

"Question. What did the monster historians from the alpha association found after visiting an old ruin from the eastern continent." The lady teacher asked while she turned around to write something on the board.

Liam, who was not listening since his phone fell, regained his composure and sat straightly on his chair.

'What just happened to me? This happened before, right?'

Ding!

He grabbed his phone back in front of him again and looked at the new notification.

"No fucking way..."

He can't believe it. He even blinked his eyes, closed his phone, and looked at it three times. Even though he knew it don't change anything because it's just a word from his phone.

[You have been successfully transported into an alternate world]

"Liam, don't curse. You're crazy. She's going to hear yo–"

Tak!

"Give me the name of the student talking at the back?" After letting a question flow out from her mouth, she simply glanced at the empty air.

"L-Liam Keene and Nathan Vance, miss..." The student near her answered.

"Hmph. Mr. Keene, Mr. Vance..."

"M-Miss, good... Good afternoon. We apologize..." Nathan stood up and bowed his head towards the lady teacher.

"G-Good afternoon, miss..."

Liam also followed.

"You dare sleep in my class! Both of you! Get out of the room, stand up with your arms wide open, and prepare to call your parents in the school!"

SHUT!

Liam was kicked out of the room and was forced to stand up in the corridor.

"Damn it. What's happening?" He was irritatingly upset.

He didn't know if this was just a dream or not.

"Hey, Liam. You're really crazy. I shouldn't have woke you up. Now, I'm also here." He chuckled.

He seems to be quite friendly with Liam.

"Hey, uh, classmate. Hit me." Liam suddenly said in a nonchalant manner.

If this was just a dream, he really needed to wake up as soon as possible. He didn't know what would happen to him at his school.

"Ah, it's Nathan. And sorry, but what? Why would I hit you?" Nathan simply tilted his head without much confusion and questioned Liam.

"I would just like to confirm something."

"Okay."

Not even a second passed but he already tried to move his body. Then...

ACK!

...He quickly hit Liam.

"Kurk–! I-It hurts! W-Why did you hit me in the stomach...!?" Liam lowered his body as he touched his agonizing abdomen.

It was painful. If he know it would land there, he would definitely warn him, but he barely even see Nathan move.

"Oh, sorry. I thought you could take it. haha~ I'll help you take yourself on the bench there if you want."

"You damned..."

A while later, they both sat on the bench near the corridor but far from their room. It took a while before Liam recovered from the blow on his stomach.

Then Nathan suddenly talked...

"Anyways, why are you weak?"

The question was like a knife stabbing Liam straight into his chest.

I've been like this for my whole life, what are you talking about!

"You're just incredibly strong." Liam shrugged.

"Eh? But my strength is really average compared to the other students in the top three classes. Maybe you're just really weak." He spoke up with his straight face.

And the last words stabbed Liam once again. But he quickly recovered from that than earlier since he was quite confused from what he said.

"Average?"

"You're really stupid... And weak I guess."

"Damn it."

"Ah, I forgot. Just tell me your stats so I can tell." Nathan scratched his head as if he really just remembered something and it was stupid for him.

"Huh? Stats?"

Now he was really confused.

"Yeah. Your level or your attributes."

"Huh? Ah. What game are you exactly talking about?"

"Game? I mean the system? Your system."

"System?" Liam's face even more frowned.

At that moment, he widened his eyes as he looked at the empty air.

"Ah, do you see it now?" Nathan looked at the sweating Liam who looked extremely surprised.

"N-No way..."

A window appeared in front of him, showing his status, level, and attributes.

"...This isn't true, right?" Liam asked without looking away from the window.

"What do you mean 'it's not true'? The system has always been with us since becoming ten years old. You're really being weird."

Gulp. He couldn't believe it. So he really was transported to another world.

"So what's your level?"

"Ah, that..."

"This... Is this real?" Liam was quite shocked after seeing the window in front of him.

'He said we all have this system... I'm in an alternate reality...'

...What the app said was true.

"I told you it is. So what's your level?" He immediately asked after carelessly picking his nose just now.

"Ah. Uh... I'm Level 21 right now, is that good?" Liam turned his eyes off his stats for a moment and stared at Nathan and questioned him.

"Eh? The average level of a student for our year is twenty-seven. So you really are weak."

"Don't say it so casually! Ah, At least I have my sprint skill to level 19."

Nathan tilted his head once again.

"The average level of sprint is 25. You really are weak. I think the teachers even say you can't completely outrun from a low D class monster when you're sprint skill isn't at least higher than the level 20." Nathan carelessly said with his straight face.

"Damn it." Liam was once again upset.

'So I really am weak in this world. I thought every people getting isekai'd will be overpowered from the start. I guess not.'

He felt dejected. He can't even run from some low-level monsters...

Monsters...?

"Wait... What monsters?"

"Hm? I didn't know you're also stupid."

'I shouldn't have asked this guy...'

Ding!

Liam's phone vibrated. He decided to check it since he was transported because of it. With a bit of irritation, he opened the notification.

[The user is getting pretty stupid after coming into an alternate world which is unfamiliar to him.]

He was speechless. Even the damned app was calling him 'pretty stupid'.

[The Heaven's App will provide help by telling all the common sense and the basic information of the user's new world.]

'This...'

Should I finally praise this damned app?

The Cataclysm

"Ah, uh, Nathan. I need to go to the bathroom. Tell miss Aria that I have a stomach ache."

Liam stood up from the bench and spoke to Nathan.

"Oh, sure. Perhaps you can finally remember some things after you take a shit." Nathan said and he didn't seem to be teasing.

It was just his normal personality.

And it just made people around him feel depressed, including Liam, of course.

He breathed out a heavy sigh before he bid his short farewell and walked away from the bench. He wandered around the school's hall just to find the male's bathroom and he soon went inside.

Looking at the bathroom's mirror, he saw his own body. His appearance didn't look any different from himself in his original world. He soon pulled out his phone from his pocket and opened the one and only app.

"This thing is gonna help me, huh," Liam said as he read the text it gave earlier again.

[The Heaven's App will provide help by telling all the common sense and the basic information of the user's new world.]

"So basically, this Heaven's App is my golden finger in this world."

"I would have considered you useless since you made me teleport here without power-ups," Liam spoke to none but it was directed towards the app.

"But I guess not since you will provide me information, you're at least one percent useful."

Ding!

As if the app wanted to reply to Liam, it made a notification appear.

[After the user finishes reading all the information given by the Heaven's App, it will kindly give the user a random gift box.]

Liam's face twitched as he saw the new notification.

"I... I take my word back."

[The world where the host was transported is called Earth.]

"That's so original."

[200 years ago was the time a meteor landed on one of the four continents. The people called it 'The Cataclysm' since it was the cause of every worse possible incident that was happening to the whole world.]

"Four continents?"

[New elements and minerals stronger than diamonds began to grow throughout the entire planet, mostly appearing in the mines.]

[But the price of having them was the existence of all kinds of monsters.]

"Wait for me to finish reading, damned app."

Another notification appeared without him even finishing the other one, but before he could complain another one appeared.

[The monsters first appeared in large caves and untouched vast fields, but they soon began to emerge in some urban cities. A week after the massacre of two billion people, despair faded from most of them when two windows appeared in front of them. The first window was to show their objective while the other one was their own stats. The humanity began to fight back since then.]

[Inside what people call the 'system', are the stats, level and attributes. From when you gain the system, at ten years old, the system would select whether you're a 'normal worker' or 'hunter'. Normal workers are for the people who's objective is to live a normal life and work while the hunters are the ones whose only objective was to protect people and eradicate monsters that are coming from the 'Fissure' and other monster's lair.]

[The Fissures began to appear at the same time people with extraordinary powers appeared, gifted by the system. The Fissures appeared one or two times every day and the so-called 'Exemplars' only emerged once every 2 to 3 years in every country.]

[Monsters leave another new element called 'Power Core' when they die and hunters will gain a slight permanent boost in their attributes by absorbing it.]

[For the stats, you start with being level 1, and level 50 for every attribute. If the Level or the Age goes up by 1, every attribute would also increase by one. An example is if you're born stupid, you start below level 50, and if you're born strong you start above level 50.]

[Going back today, there's also changes in the normal way people lived. Schools teach students seven skills including Passive Learning, Sprint, Endurance, Blunt Weapons Mastery, Blade Weapons Mastery, Hard Strike, and Mana Sense.]

"Is... Is it over now?" Liam asked himself after his phone was being filled with loads of notifications.

He soon began to read it from the start.

And after he finished reading...

"All of this is too much to swallow."

...His thoughts can't keep up.

"Phew. Okay, I'll gather my understandings of this somehow... Maybe later..."

As he was about to remember something, his phone rang from the new notification.

Ding!

[Though the user is still not quite knowledgeable in this new world even after letting him read the basic information,]

'Aren't you just telling me that I'm stupid?'

[The Heaven's App will still give him the random gift box he needed. Does the user want to accept?]

Without having a second thought, Liam accepted.

[Initiating...]

[The Otherworldly Basic Necessities User-Friendly Starter Pack was given to the user.]

[New app content was loaded.]

[Inventory.]

[The Otherworldly Basic Necessities User-Friendly Starter Pack was placed in the Heaven's App's Inventory.]

[The Inventory was automatically opened.]

"This app is just being too fast..." Liam said as a few notifications once again kept appearing.

'Not that I have complaints though.'

Liam pressed the only image on the screen with a starter pack named under it. Then a new notification appeared.

[The Otherworldly Basic Necessities User-Friendly Starter Pack was opened.]

[The user gained a 10 level increase for every attribute he has.]

[The user gained a 5 level increase for every skill he has.]

[The user gained 1 new common, physical, and psyche skill.]

[The user gained 100 coins that can be used to buy things from the Heaven's App Store.]

"Heavens... This is amazing."

Thud!

"Why don't you just give us a little bit of cash... Then we're not gonna do this to you, dumb shit!"

Liam turned around to look.

Three people came inside the bathroom. Two standing upright and one who fell down on the floor.

It was obviously bullying.

One of the two bullies saw Liam and stared at him.

"What? You're gonna disturb us?" He gave a pestering look.

After staring back at the bully, Liam simply turned around.

"Hah. That's what I thought."

Liam's face didn't change one bit. He already experienced this a long time ago, but he was the one who got bullied after.

'This is a new world. If I get involved, I would only get myself in danger.'

Ding!

He was a bit surprised when the phone rang at the worst timing. He was troubled and looked at the notification.

[The Heaven's App will give 250 coins, 1 level increase for every attribute, and 1 level increase for every skill when the user successfully subdued the two bullies.]

Liam put his phone in his pocket, turned around, glanced at the bullies, and pointed his finger at them.

"YOU MOTHERFUCKING BULLIES KEEP BULLYING!"
