It was a hot summer day. A young boy named Atlas Arrowood went wondering around the forest. He was not allowed to leave the forest, but what was the reason. The reason for this was that he and him brothers were not born normal. Atlas was a boy with red cat ears and a red cat tail. His hair and eyes were also red. He was also fair. Atlas has three brothers.
Amos was also a cat. His ears, tail, and hair are all green. He has golden eyes, but they look more like a yellow color. Amos is also fair.
The next brother is Hedie. He is a rabbit and wears glasses. His ears are long and yellow. His hair is blond and his eyes are a greenish color. Hedi is also pale.
The last brother is a dog and his name is Darrius. He has red and yellow ears, tail, and hair. Darrius eyes are bright blue.
Their parents had told them many times not to leave the forest. They said that when people see them they would try to kill them. While Atlas was exploring he ended up finding a house and the end of the forest. Atlas walked up to the house and looked through the window. He was four little girls watching TV.
While Atlas was looking through the window one of the girls noticed him. She got up and walked out side. Atlas saw her and instantly became scared. She looked at him with a gentle smile. Atlas walked closer to her. "What's your name?" she asked gently.
"Atlas," he answered quietly.
"My name is Sarah. It's nice to meet you Atlas." Atlas smiled then walked all the way up to the girl. She saw his ears and tail and started laughing. "You must be one of those Forest Creatures my parents told us about. You look cute."
"Thank you," Atlas laughed causing Sarah to laugh. They talked for hours then Atlas decided it was time to go home. " I have to go, but I'll be back tomorrow if you want me to come back."
"I would love for you to come back," Satah said rubbing Atlas's head. "Make sure that next time you bring your brothers. I'll bring my sisters out."
"Okay I will," Atlas said as he disappeared into the forest. Atlas rushed home and when he got home his mother was waiting on him.
"Why are you getting back so late?" she asked crossing her arms. She was tall and fair. She was a white nine tailed fox. Her ears, hair, and tail were all white. Her hair was long and down to her knees.
"I was in the forest exploring," Atlas said with a smile.
"Well make sure you come home sooner. I don't want anything to happen to one of my baby boys," she said with a kind and warm smile. Atlas hugged her and she hugged him back.
"I will Mommy," Atlas said. Then he started yawning. Their mother took the boys upstairs and put them to bed. Atlas was asleep fast.
After they all went to bed Atlas woke up early. He got all of his brothers up and made them follow him. Once he got to the end of the forest he walked up to the house. When he saw Sarah he tapped on the window. She looked out and when she saw him she smiled. She got her sisters and they all went outside.
"Atlas you came back," Sarah said hugging Atlas.
"I said I would," Atlas said hugging her back. "I also brought my brothers. The rabbit is Hedie. Amos is the cat and Darrius is a dog."
"Atlas who is that girl?" Amos asked hiding behind Atlas.
"Her name is Sarah. Don't worry she won't hurt you," Atlas said rubbing Amos's head.
"Are you sure because Mommy said that humans want to kill us."
"She is different from normal humans. Just give her a chance. I promise you will like and trust her. I spent all day with her yesterday."
"Atlas you told Mommy that you was wondering in the forest," Darrius said looking at Atlas.
"I know that I lied to her, but I would have gotten into a lot of trouble if she found out that I was talking to humans."
"That's because they are dangerous," Hedie said fixing his glasses.
"They're not dangerous. If they was don't you think I would be dead."
"He has a point," Darrius said with a smile.
"Hey guys do you want to come back later?" Sarah asked putting her hand on Atlas's shoulder.
"No, it's fine," Darrius said with a smile. "Are you going to introduce us to your sisters?"
"Right," Sarah said grabbing one of her sister's hand. This is Bernadette." She had brown eyes and brown hair. She was also wearing glasses. Bernadette walked over Hedie and they instantly became friends.
"My next sister is Erica," Sarah said grabbing another one of her sister. She was tan. Her hair was black and pink. She had hazel eyes. Her hair was also long and wavy.
"I love dogs," Erica said walking over to Darrius. Darrius smiled at her and started wagging his tail.
"My last sister is Angelica. Her favorite color is green and she also loves cats," Sarah said causing Amos to smile. He looked at Angelica and thought she was the prettiest girl he had ever seen. She was fair with light blue eyes and bleach blond hair. They all instantly became friends.
A couple of years after they met they all started to date. It was Atlas and Sarah, Amos and Angelica, Hedie and Bernadette, and Darrius and Erica. They would often explore the woods together. Before it got to late they would take the girls home. None of them were ever caught together.
After they took the girls home they ate and went to bed. The next day they went to girls' house. The day was like any other day. Then at the end of the day the girls gave Atlas and his brothers some bad news.
"We have something important to talk to you guys about," Sarah said taking Atlas's hands.
"What is it?" Atlas asked with a concerned look.
"Our parents decided to move. We'll be leaving first thing in the morning." Atlas looked at Sarah then at his brothers.
"What about us?" Atlas asked making his brothers look at him. "What are we going to do?"
"Wait for us to come back. I love you Atlas and I promise that one day I will return and we can be together again."
Atlas smiled and shook his head. Sarah kissed him one last time and she went in her house. Atlas stayed outside for several hours before he decided to go home. When he entered the house he smiled and goofed off as if nothing was wrong. When everyone decided to go to bed Atlas snuck out and went to Sarah's house. He knocked on her window and woke her up.
"Did you really think you could leave without saying goodbye?" Atlas asked as he helped Sarah out of the window. "I have to have one more special night with you before you go." Atlas took Sarah by her hand and led her into the forest.
"Atlas is it safe here? What if we get lost?" Sarah asked looking around. All she saw was a bunch of trees and darkness.
"Sarah I live here. Trust me, we won't get lost and you will be safe as long as I am here." Atlas helped Sarah climb a tree and they sat at the main top of it. Sarah looked around and thought that the view was beautiful. She could see the whole forest from up there. Atlas put his head against Sarah's then he kissed her.
"Atlas can I ask you something?"
"Of course you can. What is it?"
"Will you promise to wait on me? Can you promise that you won't date any other girls until I get back?"
"Sarah you are the only girl I would ever date. I promise that when you return I will be right here waiting. I'm not going anywhere. Maybe when you return my kind won't be hunted and we won't have to sneak around and date each other."
"That would be nice," Sarah said as she put her head on Atlas's shoulder. He wrapped his arms around her and they stayed up therefor several hours. Once he took her they said their goodbyes and Atlas kissed Sarah one last time. He went back home and fell asleep. The next day Hedie woke him up.
"Atlas the girls are about to leave. Do you want to say goodbye to them."
"Atlas looked at Hedie then got up. They rushed out the door, but when they got to the house the girls were gone.
"Man that stinks," Darrius said setting down. "I wish I could have told Erica bye one last time."
"Hey guys don't be so down. This isn't really goodbye after all. We just have to be patient until they come back."
"I know, but that doesn't mean I can't feel bad about it," Darrius said putting his head down.
"Guys don't be so down," Amos said with a smile. "Let's go have some fun." Atlas smiled and got up. The brothers all ran after each other and ended up finding a pond.
"Let's go for a dive," Atlas said taking his shirt off. He dived in the pond and his brothers soon followed in behind him. They had a lot of fun that day and each day they had new things planned. They did things like this for a year until their life started crumbling around them. It all started when a new family moved into the girls' old house.
