Last night, it rained heavily but there was no trace of rain right now. As the wind passes through the grass, the dew on the grass appears as if they are some precious stones and the birds were chirping in their nest, a few butterflies sucking honey from the flowers.

She glanced at the far away mountains; she saw the sun has risen. Therefore, while jogging she thought she should go back home. She reached her home opened the gate, but the entrance to the main door was already open.

She entered the house and saw the floor was scattered with books, broken vase pieces, Cd’s. She saw bloodstains all over the floor. She turned her head to her right side, she saw a man lying on the ground, and she knitted her eyebrows and her eyes have become watery.

She rushed to her father's side held him in her lap and tried to wake him up she moved his body with her hands calling him “Please wake up father.”

She saw bloodstains on his face and the blood was flowing from his stomach. He regained his consciousness then he took out a bottle from his pocket and told her “Yizhen take this and run away or else destroy this drug. Stay safe otherwise, they will kill you.”

He left his last breath by puking out blood from his mouth.Yizhen shouted father and placing her hands on his body trying to wake him up. She said, “Father, please don’t leave me.”

She felt as if someone piercing her heart, and she remembered her mother then she searched for her mother in the other rooms. She saw a pool of blood coming from the kitchen.

Then she saw her mother's body lying on the ground. She kneels down and supports her body on the door. She shouted “mother.”

She moved towards her mother then she placed her head on her knees. She tries to wake her up, but she has passed away. She saw the stab made with a knife on her mother's chest.

She immediately took a knife from the kitchen. Then she took out chili powder into a small plastic bag and rushed outside the house. She saw a five-masked persons rushing towards her house. She started running towards the end of the mountain so that she can enter into the town and ask for help.

Yizhen’s father is a drug researcher so; to conduct his experiments he built a house outside the town, so they are isolated. Yizhen slowly picked up the chili powder from the cover and threw it towards the masked persons.

The powder went into the eyes of two of the masked person’s. She heard the sounds “AHHH…” Their eyes became watery and tears fall down. She turned her head and saw them kneeling on the ground.

One of masked people handed them water and rushed towards yizhen. However, the remaining three persons surrounded her. She took the knife and slashed on a person's elbow. She escaped from them and reached the edge of the cliff.

She looked back then she saw the depth of the mountain, which is so deep. She thought if she falls down from here, she would eventually die.

Therefore, until her last breath she thought to fight with them. She rushed towards the three masked persons and started to attack. In the middle of the fight, a masked person pushed her.

She could not control her body and she tripped from the edge of the cliff. Even while falling she did not show her fear on her face then she grasped the drug bottle opened its cap threw the powder out in the air.

CLANG...She hit her head on the stone and she was surrounded by a pool of blood. She slowly opened her eyes watched the sky. She said, “Father I have fulfilled the promise which I made to you. Father and mother I am coming to you and she left her last breath.”

She slowly opened her eyes and looked at the roof and the bed; she is not familiar with them. The curtains on one side of the bed are closed. She thinks she is sleeping in a strange bed she thought she was dreaming.

She closed her eyes, opens them again. She saw that she is still on the same bed. Then she recollects that she has fallen down from the cliff and died. She thought is this is reincarnation.

She slowly sat up holding the edge of the bed and looks at herself. She says, “Why I have become shorter, even my hands are also small and why am I wearing a traditional dress.” She thought her soul was transferred into another person’s body.

However, looking at her body physique she thought this girl would be around eleven or twelve years old. She said, “So, my soul was transferred to the past.”  She thought thanks for watching those modern time travel dramas otherwise; she would be crazy right now.

She moves the curtain and slowly places her feet on the footrest and put on her shoes. She recollects the memories of this body’s owner. Her name is Chun ling and she is the princess of northern qi.

She is eleven years old. She said, I have never even dreamed an eighteen years modern girl would be transferred into eleven years old body.

She is around five feet three inches. She turned her head, she saw a wardrobe, and there is a dining table with flasks and cups. She noticed a few vases with peach flowers.

She went back to sit on the bed, when she placed her hand on the bed. She could sense something below her hand. She turned her head and saw a flute.

She remembered this flute belongs to previous body owner. It’s a jade flute with a small peach flower designed on one of its end.

Suddenly, she hears the door opening sound, she turns her head to see who it was. She was a woman around 30 years old with a fair skin, and she walks dignified and gracefully. However, this woman also looks pale and weak. Yizhen thinks may be Chun ling's mother was also poisoned.

She sat beside her on the bed and embraced her warmly. She called her as “Chuner” Chun ling moved out of her embrace and looked at her mother; she observed her mother's facial expression which looked worried, as if she really cares about her daughter.

She asked her, “Chuner do you still feel pain?” Chun ling answered her, “Mother, do not worry. I am feeling better after taking a rest.”

Xiaoying took Chun ling’s hand and placed it in her hands, holding her hand she said, "now listen carefully empress is trying to kill us.” Yesterday, I have spoken with my brother Hui Jing, from now onwards he will take care of you.

She coughs a mouthful of blood on the ground. Chuner says, "Mother, are you alright?" Xiaoying takes a cloth from her sleeves and wipes her lips.

She hands over the bag and pulls out a fragrance pouch, a jade hairpin, and a small pouch. She gives all of them to her and says this pouch contains money. She picks the flute from the bed.

Then she gives it to Chun ling. She hugs her, “daughter, my brother will arrange everything for you so, you need not worry about yourself.” She pats Chun ling on her shoulder and calls out yan.

Chuner saw a man wearing black dress appears from the roof. Xiaoying says, "He is my most trusted secret guard he will take you safely out of the palace and helps you to reach my brother."

Yan knelt down; he cups his hands and says "Yan pays greetings to your highness and princess." Xiaoying says, "You may rise. Take the princess away from the palace and make her meet my brother".

Chun ling remembers her real parents care by seeing xiaoying's care and tears start to fall from her eyes. Xiaoying wipes her tears and hugs her for the last time. Xiaoying says, “Yan take her away.” Yan hands over a veil to Chun ling and he ties a veil to cover his face.

He holds her and uses his martial arts to jump onto the roof. Chun ling sees the figure of her mother fade away. She observes this person's breath was so steady, and he was moving so fast.

If I had not watched in drama's I would never believe, people can jump from roof to roof using martial arts. I think now the time would be around four in the morning. She turns her head towards her right side, and she saw that outside each house there are many lanterns hung.

She watches the sky which is with bright stars and moon as it is still dark. She closed her eyes and thought “father and mother, protect and guide me in this new world.” She opened her eyes looked at her surroundings.

After some time he slowed down, jumped on a high wall, took a step on it, and he jumped down from the wall. She thought she may fall down when she saw him jumping on a wall.

We entered a place surrounded by a long trees, and at a certain distance, I can see two hefty figures standing side by side. Yan placed me on the ground then we walked towards them.

One man is around forty years with fierce face and the other man might be around sixteen years. Both are holding swords.Yan knelt down he cupped his hands. He said, “Yan pays greetings to general.”

Hui Jing said, “You could rise.” Old man and young man bent slightly and paid respects to princess. Therefore, Chun ling thought this old man was Hui jing. Chun ling said," Uncle and brother no need to pay greetings. You can call me Chun ling."

Hui Jing introduces his son huixiang to Chuner. Chun ling orders, “Yan you may leave and inform mother I have reached safely.” Yan turns around, he uses his martial arts.

Three of them walked for five minutes. Chun ling sees a horse carriage at a distance, huixiang climbs on it and places a footrest on the ground, and he holds Chun ling’s hands to help her climb the carriage.

She sees a chair and a long bench to sit inside the carriage. She sits at one corner. When his uncle and brother sat his uncle told coachman to ride.

In the carriage Chun ling asks huijing, “Uncle, where are we going?" Jing answers her, "we are heading towards jiankang city. I have arranged everything to settle there.” She nodded her head.

Chuner moves her hands to open the curtain to see outside through the window, but it is still dark she cannot see anything. She moves her hands back, leans her head on the carriage wall, and closes her eyes.

In the Ye city: 

A person dressed in black colored clothes entered the room, he kneels down, and then he cups his hands “greetings to your majesty” Emperor Xuan was around fifty years, he wore a golden colored robe with a dragon symbol on it, and he has a fierce look on his face.

He asked, “What about Hui family?” The man in black is Zhou Wei. He said by bowing his head, “Your majesty,we have killed Hui family except two members, but he started to tremble by thinking how angry the king would be.”

The king shouted at him to tell, he said, "Huijing and huixiang escaped from ye city. Just now, I have received the news from our spies that princess Chun ling were also with them.”

Emperor's face turned red with anger, he threw a few reports on Zhou Wei. He slammed his hand on the table. He said you bunch of people are useless. You cannot even kill a complete family and always brings headaches to me, by not finishing the allotted work properly.

Zhou Wei face was full of fear and his robes are drenched with sweat. He ordered to Zhou Wei to kill three of them. Zhou Wei cupped his hands to the emperor and he left the hall. Emperor had held his forehead with his hand and sighed.

After a few hours, she woke up. Jing asked her, "Do you want to eat something?" She nodded her head. Jing gave her dumplings; she took a few and had them.

After she finished eating. She opened the curtain to see outside the carriage. By the time the sun has risen, she saw along the road, there are many houses, markets were full of crowd, and there are many food stalls, accessories stalls, treasure shops, clothes and make up, medicine shops.

She observed them keenly as this is the first time she is seeing how the ancient market would be. She closed the curtain and turned her head to her right side she saw her uncle was sleeping, she glanced at the person beside her.

Huixiang has a fair skin with a bit of tan on his face by looking at his physique she thought he maintains his body fit. He has a distinct facial features with a long black hair tied up with a small narrow crown and his hands had many calluses. Therefore, she thought he might be good at dealing with weapons. I wonder if he is in modern era, how popular he would be, if he was cast in movies or dramas.

He was around six feet one inch. He wore a maroon colored clothes, with a long black robe tied around his neck. Chun ling said, "Brother." Huixiang turned his head and said, "Yes, little Chun."

She asked him "Brother, Where are we now?" He said," Within four to five hours we can reach to the border of Luoyang city." She nodded her head by saying "oh"

After a few hours, she saw there are no more houses in the view it is full of trees. By seeing it, she recollected her past life with her parents, her eyes became moist as she tried to hold back her tears.

She thought I have to be brave. She recollected Chun ling memories to get any useful information. In her memory, Chun ling has met huixiang and huijing only once in the past that too when she was around six years.

She does not know anything related to the outside of the palace, as she never went outside of the palace, but she felt that she is good at etiquette, archery, and flute playing.

She thought although, she had learned taekwondo during her schooling but it would not be useful to protect herself as the people here were trained and experienced in martial arts.

Currently, her body is very weak to use defense attacks. Firstly, she need to take more protein and make herself strong so that she no longer needs to depend on others at the time of attacks. I can protect the person I love; I have failed to protect my parents.

From now on, I will never give any chance to others to decide my death according to their wishes. When she was thinking carriage slowed down and stopped.

Coachman informed them, "master we have reached." Uncle and brother got down. I took my bag and brother helped me to get down. Uncle turned his head and said, "we need to walk for less than an incense stick of time."

Huixiang holds her waist and lifted her from the ground he told her, "Hold tight, do not be afraid, close your eyes do not open until I say. I will protect you. Trust me." She nodded her head and closed her eyes.

After that, she can only hear the sounds as if people are shouting with pain and swords striking sounds. She thought to see, how the situation is she just took a peek that she was in the air and her brother stabbed a person when she opened her eyes.

Then she closed her eyes immediately and held her brother's robe more tightly. She can sense the smell of blood in the air. Huixiang has killed more than ten members. He is a general and his father was a retired general. Therefore, these groups of assassins are nothing to him.

He went to help his father. When huixiang was fighting, an assassin made a sneak attack from his behind. Normally he can manage but now he is holding little Chun in one hand and fighting with them.

Jing rushed immediately to protect his son and took a stab. Huixiang shouted "father"

Chuner opened her eyes, the scene panicked her, she saw the pool of blood and dead bodies are present around her.

She saw blood flowing out of her uncle's stomach. Huixiang face turned red as blood has splashed on his face and clothing. He has killed two assassins with one slash. He rushed towards his father placed Chun ling down on the ground.

He took his father on his lap he called "father." Jing took Chuner's hand and placed it in huixiang's hand then he told him "Protect her." He took out two envelopes from his robe and a token from his sleeves and gave it to huixiang.

He said to huixiang, "This token will give you easy access into jiankang city, you should go and meet Zhang family and show this token and give him the letter named as Rongli to him. He will arrange everything for both of you and he will help you to meet the emperor. When you met him, hand over this envelope to the emperor."

He places one of his hands on Chuner's head and other hand on xiang's shoulder he patted them, he closed his eyes, and the hand dropped onto the ground.

Huixiang shouted father with tears flowing from his eyes. Huixiang leaned on his father's body and cried. Chun ling eyes also have become watery. After two incenses burning time, Chun ling held his brothers hand and said, "Brother, let us bury uncle."

Huixiang nodded his head he told her, "Right now we could not bury him, as this surrounding does not have any houses. We will cremate him and collect his ashes." He cremated his father after seeing him for the last time.

He took his ashes in a cloth, tied the edges of the cloth, and kept it in his bag. By the time, the sun is about to set. They both walked for an incense burning of time they saw a river ahead of them. Huixiang bent down at the edge of the river and told her, "Wash your face and hands."

He saw her dress has bloodstains. He observed around him. A lot of bushes and trees surrounded them. There is not even a single trace of living beings.

He walked to a nearby bush, he told her to come, and he told her to change her outer garment as it is with bloodstains. Once we cross this river, we will head to Luoyang city. He turned and left from that place.

Chuner quickly opened her bag, changed her outer garments, and went to him. She thought thank god I have worn this traditional dress once in my past life otherwise; it would be a tough job right now.

By the time, he has already changed his dress and waiting for her. He held her hand and took her to the river where they saw a boat. He removed the rope, he climbed onto the boat, and he helped Chun ling to get on the boat.

Huixiang told her, "We will go to an inn and rest for tonight." She said, " Sure...brother" They entered the inn called "Luo river inn" she saw the ground floor has a lot of tables and with tea sets on them and few tables with different dishes, few people were talking, few were drinking.

Meanwhile huixiang spoke with the inn owner and took a room. He told her, "little Chun, let's go" Server showed them their room. As she entered the room, she saw a bed and onto the one side of the bed, there is a tea table.

There was partition on the other side of the bed. She walked to see what is there behind it. There is one more bed. Huixiang sat at the table, took a cup, poured water into it, and drank it.

Chun ling came and sat on the opposite side of the table. Huixiang took a cup and he pours water into it. He gave it to Chun ling. She took it and drank it. Huixiang asked little Chun," little Chun, what do you want to eat? "

Chun ling said, "Brother, anything is fine for me." He went to the bathroom filled the bathtub with water and came out and said to her, "I have filled the water in the tub; you can go and take a bath. I will go down and I will order food for us. I will wait outside, once you are ready, open the door. Lock the door and do not open for others." Chun ling nodded her head.

Huixiang opened the door and went out, and she left to take a bath. She removed her garments and entered into the bathtub. After a hectic day, she felt refreshed by taking a bath.

She dressed herself, came out, and sat in front of the mirror she combed her hair together and took a small portion of hair from side of her forehead. She separated it from the remaining hair and tied the remaining hair with a white ribbon.

Downstairs:

Huixiang said to the inn owner, "He wants to order two bowls of rice, and two vegetarian side dishes and tea. He told him to send them after twenty minutes to the first room."

He went upstairs and waited outside the room. He heard the door opening sound he turned back little Chun said, "brother, you can get in." He walked inside and said, "You can take a rest on this bed. I will take a bath."

He took a bath and sat. He heard a knock sound he said, " little Chun, cover your face with a veil" He opened the door; he saw a server standing outside.

He moved aside, and then he told him, "Put it on the table." Server replied "ok young master." Server placed all the dishes on the table and he left.

Huixiang sat at the table; Chun ling removed her veil, placed it on the bed, and sat beside him. Both picked chopsticks huixiang picked a few vegetables and placed it in little Chun's bowl. He told her "Eat more."

She nodded and had food. After finishing the food he poured the tea in two cups, he gave a cup to her. She took the cup, while drinking she thought I do not know how to console him. His facial expression was dull; he lost his father just a few hours ago.

I am a time traveler from the future, and I was in this era for not even one whole day. However, I felt that if I have an elder brother might be, he will also take care of me like this.

After spending time with him for a couple of hours, I felt like even though he looks as if a fierce person who can face any type of situation, may be as a general he is habituated with such a type of environment.

However, he too has feelings; he cannot show his weakness in front of others. Yet, I feel he is a kind and softhearted person. If he is not with me will I be able to survive from those assassins. She thought, I would have definitely passed away.

After a few days of search they will stop searching for us, once it has settled a bit we will head down to jiankang city. You have seen the assassin's today; they will never expect that we have stayed in Luoyang. What do you say?"

Chun ling took a cup and rotated it while thinking. She started thinking all the possibilities she has right now. As she has grown in the palace, everyone will search the area around the city or in the inn's but there is less chance who will think that a princess would be staying in a bamboo house nearby to the forest.

I have lived in the modern era for eighteen years, and for the last three years, I have stayed in the mountains. So, it won't be difficult from me to stay there.Therefore, it is better to stay low-key life to stay safe and in the mean time, I can become fit.

Little Chun said, "Brother, we will stay in a bamboo house."Huixiang said, "Ok then. Tomorrow after having breakfast we will vacate this room and we will purchase the things required for staying there."

She nodded her head. Huixiang said, "It is late now you go to sleep." Little Chun stood up, sat on her bed and she lay down. Huixiang took the quilt and tucked her in and he stroked on her head.

Little Chun said, "Good night brother" He went and slept on his bed. Little Chun thought, "Oh jade emperor, thank you for giving me such a brother who tries to protect me." She closed her eyes and slept.

Next day morning she woke up and thought that it may be 4.30 Am; actually, she has a habit to wake up at 4.30 Am in the modern era to help her mother. As her mother is a teacher.

She used to help her in household activities. She turns her head towards her back she saw her brother is sleeping. Therefore, she took her clothes from the bag and went to the bathroom to take a bath. When she got out, she got ready in front of the mirror.

She opened the window beside the tea table. She poured water in a cup and she sat down and leans on the window door watching the outside view.

She goes to jogging daily because she loves to watch fresh grass, flowers opening at morning time, birds chirping, birds moving from their nest, flower petals and leaves falling due to morning breeze, to hear those rustling sounds.

She takes a cup, sips water from it, and she places her elbow at the edge of the window. She places her chin on her hand she gets mesmerized by seeing this pollution free nature. At a long distance, she felt sun is taking a sneak peek to wake up every one.

She turned her head with a smile on her face. She was in shock by seeing her brother standing beside her and he is staring at her. She asked, "Brother, when did you wake up?"He said I have been standing here right when you started drinking water. She said, "oh, I didn't notice you"

He smiled and said, " little Chun, it is very easy to fool you." She frowned and said, "Brother" He asked, "What are you watching not even noticing what's happening around you?"

She said," I like to watch this nature early in the morning." She pulled his hand and told him to sit. Just close your eyes relax your mind, just think that you are alone now and do not think about anything "brother, slowly open your eyes and watch this beautiful things in nature which makes you relaxed."

He smiled and said, "So, my little Chun likes these short lived things." She replied, "Yes, you go and take a bath." He stood up and left. Chun ling thought thank god at least I have made him smile and tried to make him comfortable.

She thought I have to ask brother where I can purchase funeral clothes, paper money, and ancestral tablet. It has been two days. I did not even pay respects to my parents because of these difficult situations.

She was summarizing what all the things she need to buy. She took a paper, dipped the brush in ink, and noted them. Huixiang got ready; he saw her writing seriously and thought what she was writing.

He asked her, "What are you writing?" She replied, "I am making a list of things that I should buy, and she lowered her voice and said we need to buy mourning clothes and things required for mourning."

Huixiang said, "Ok let's buy what all you want to buy, I will go down and order breakfast." She said "Hmm" Huixiang ordered breakfast and came upstairs. He sat at the window opposite to her and saw the bustling street.

Little Chun saw many street vendors selling food items, few tea stalls and people are sitting and talking with each other. Few of them are setting up stalls, children running on the road.

They heard the knock on the door. Huixiang opened the door and took the tray from the server then he closed the door. He placed the breakfast on the table he told her, " little Chun, let's eat."

Chun ling closed her eyes and moved her hands towards her body and folded her hands, she said, "thank you god for providing me with food and making me watch another beautiful day."

When she opened her eyes, she saw Huixiang staring at her. She asked, "What happened?" He said, "Do you always pray like that?" She replied "Hmm."

They took their chopsticks and started eating their food. She thought did I make any mistake. Oh, I forgot I have prayed as if I did at my home. He may think me as crazy.

Forget it at the most he thinks I am a peculiar person. After a few days, he would be habituated with my weird habits. Therefore, I should not expose all of them at a time. Both of them finished eating.

He told her, "Pack all your things in your bag. I will go downstairs for check out and when I return back we will move out." She opened her bag to pack her clothes and covered her face with a veil.

Huixiang came and took his bag. He said, "If you are ready, let's leave." Both walked out of the room, they descended the stairs, and went outside the inn.

Chun ling said, "brother, I want to buy men's clothing" he asked "why?" she said, "From today onwards I want to disguise as a boy when I am outside." He said "ok"

They initial went to a clothes shop which was very big. She saw varieties of handcrafts on the dresses.They purchased mourning clothes and she selected six pairs of men's clothing according to her physique. They took them and went outside.

Huixiang took her to a food stall and purchased a few dumplings and side dishes. Chun ling saw a hairpin accessories stall side to this food stall.

She said, brother, I am going to this stall, and she pointed her finger. He nodded his head.

She saw a blue narrow head crown and thought this would suit for my brother, so I will buy for him. She also purchased a purple colored silk ribbon and a small head crown with white star symbol on a black colored stone.

She took out her pouch and paid money. She went back to her brother. He asked, "what did you buy?" She smiled and said, "its secret." He grinned. They took packed food items.

She took out a few carrots, cabbage, beans, tomatoes, green onions, ginger, garlic washed them. She sliced the vegetables. She started the fire in the fire pit.

Once they are fried, she added salt and crushed pepper and soy sauce. She removed the wok, she placed a new wok added few ginger and garlic in oil and fried them, and then she added carrots, tomato in the same wok and fried them until they are cooked.

Then she added a bit of corn flour mixed in water, soy sauce, salt, pepper, and coriander leaves. When water starts boiling, she took out the wok from fire and placed the soup into two bowls, she placed them on the table.

In the meantime, rice was cooked she mixed all the fried vegetables in the rice. She placed them into two bowls. She turned off the fire. She placed the chopsticks and spoons beside the bowls. She also placed the side dishes, which he bought.
