5 am, on a Monday, is the first day of year 13 for Brielle Jones (18), her alarm sounds loudly waking her up. she grunts and softly says  "**** why do I keep using that alarm sound it's' so annoying".

Brielle picks up her phone and goes on TikTok and watched them for 30 minutes before she decided to get up and prepare herself for school. Fay Raven (18) is also getting ready for school on the other side of the town. She has her favourite song 'i wanna be your girlfriend' by an artist, a girl in red playing in the background while she is getting ready for school. Her mom calls her from the sitting room to come downstairs. Fay walks down the stairs in her school uniform and her mom shouts from the sitting room. "Fay, I want to take your school photo". Fay grunts and snarkily replies "okay fine, but I need to leave soon".

Meanwhile, Brielle is still trying to figure out what lashes she wants to wear for the first day of school,  10 minutes of being indecisive, Brielle finally picks a pair of lashes and puts them on. However, After putting on her school clothing and lashes Brielle checks the time and it is 6:34. She panics and shouts "I swear to god, I better not  be late for my first day of year 13."

30 minutes later, Brielle leaves her house and jogs a little to the bus stop so that she doesn't miss her bus., On the other hand, Fay is strolling to school because she wakes up early to get ready for school quickly so that she didn't have to rush to school on her first day.

20 minutes had passed and both Brielle and Fay made it to school on time one made it earlier than the other. They both walk to class where they will meet their classmates and tutor for the first time.

"Hello class, my name is Mrs. black and I am your tutor for this year. as you are all aware... I hope. This is your last year in high school so you will need to study hard". Mrs Black said with an emotionless face.

"We have Mrs black as our tutor. we're screwed" groaned the class.

Brielle watches the time go by slowly, fiddling with her pen. She turns her head and sees Fay with her head down copying the maths equation that is being written on the board. The whole class, excluding Fay, is messing around and not paying attention to the class as if they are back in year 7 again.

Mrs Black sharply turns to face the class and screeches for the class to stop talking whilst she is teaching the class.  Fay stretches out her hand to get the teacher's attention. "Mrs Black, can I please go to the restroom?". "Yes, you may go to the restroom but please come back before 10:30". Brielle follows Fay with her eyes as she quietly walked out of the classroom.

"Hey what's up with you nowadays, you are always so fixated on Fay".

"Why is it any of your business Jason" Brielle snarkily replies with a smirk on her face. Jason kisses his teeth and turns back around.

To herself, Brielle says "He Is right, why am I so fixated on Fay, we have never talked in the 7 years we've been in the same class."

3 hours of work had passed and it is finally lunch. The loud boys in Fays and Brielle's classes ran off as soon as the bell hit 1:00 and left the two girls behind to pick up all of the crap left on the classroom floors.

"Shit, those boys act like children, how do 17 and 18-year-old boys make such a mess?" Fay exclaimed snarkily.

"I was going to ask the same thing" Brielle replied. it went silent for a minute but then a teacher walked in and called for Fay "Fay Raven, could you please follow me to the office."  Fays' eyes widen like she is surprised as to why she is being called to the office "I can finish it up here Fay"

Fay whispers " thank you Bri" and quickly grabs her bag and blindly follows the head of year.

”I hope everything’s okay, I’ve never seen her get called by the head of year? It can’t be anything

negative, she’s an A* student.” Brielle mumbles to herself whilst cleaning up the classroom.

10 minutes later, Fay walks in with Tears trickling down her Hazel eyes. She sees Brielle watching her and quickly put her hood on. “Fay? Are you okay. you can confined in me.” Brielle says with a soft tone.

Fay slowly lifts her head.

Brielle hurriedly ran towards Fay and gave her a hug whilst rubbing her back. “Miss told me, if I don’t pass my History class, I will fail the class and my mum will be disappointed and send me back to Korea I don’t know what to do” Tears are running down her eyes, blurring her vision.

Brielle Hesitatingly responded “ Hey it’s okay, I can help you study for History I got an A in my last exam. To be honest, it’s really the only class besides Food Tech I excel in so I can help you study if you’re okay with it!”

Brielle gets the sleeve of her hoodie and uses it to gently wipe Fay’s tears.

“If you don’t mind can you help, I can pay you for the tutoring if you need it?” Fay reclaimed.

“No, you don’t need to. I’m doing this because well- I just wanted to help it’s the least I can do.”

“Oh okay um- if you’re not busy, do you want to get something to eat? I can at least buy you some dinner.” Fay expresses

“Okay fine haha if you really want too, wait for me outside I’ll be there in a few minutes.”

Brielle Hurries off to her history teach to get some extra work for her and Fay to work on.

“Wow, I can’t believe me Brielle Jones is Tutoring Fay, so excited” Brielle Excitingly spouts whilst skipping along.

Saturday 14th, Brielle's alarm violently sounds,

waking Brielle up.

“Ugh why did we agree to meet at costa at 10 am I'm so tired, I guess anything for Fay.”

5 days before

“Um hey, Brielle? What time did you want to meet and what day.” Fay exclaimed with her head down.

“Oh,” Brielle said shockingly

“Saturday I'm available you can choose the time, I'm fine with whatever.”

“Okay Saturday is okay for me, I can do 10 am?” Fay replied confidentially.

“10 am is okay for me we can meet at costa and have our study date there?” Brielle Replied

“Study date?” Fay asked

Whilst Stuttering Brielle Quickly replied “Oh **** sorry I mean- ugh I apologize”

“haha no need to apologise for the study date it is,” Fay says teasingly

Turning around swiftly, Brielle's face slowly turns red.

I can’t believe she agreed with it being a study date, I am so embarrassed.

“Are you okay Brielle, you’re face is red?” Fay nervously exclaimed.

Brielle softly slaps both sides of her face and swiftly turns around and faces Fay.

“I’m okay don’t you worry about me, I was just checking my phone anyways, I will see you Saturday morning goodbye” Brielle discloses.

Brielle hurried packed her bag and ran off

“We see each other tomorrow, bye I guess.”

The Current day

” I need to get ready I don’t want to be late it is almost 9:30 and I woke up at 9 o’clock, and I haven’t even left my bed yet”

Brielle hesitatingly drags herself out of bed.

“ Okay, so the problem is I have no idea what to wear. I don’t know if it’s going to be casual, what if she dresses fancy and Streetwear and I’m just wearing sweatpants, that would be very embarrassing. **** I don’t know what to do”

Brielle says with a big sigh.

After stressing about what she’s going to wear, she puts on an outfit and runs downstairs to have something to drink before she has to leave the house to meet fay.

23 minutes later

Fay awkwardly says “ I hope Brielle makes it she has two more minutes. I’m not sure if she’s going to make it and if she does, what do I say I’m awkward when it comes to talking to people.”

After waiting for another five minutes Fay turns around to go back home, but then Brielle shows up out of breath, looking like she ran to meet with her.

“ oh my God, are you okay? Don’t tell me you ran all the way here Brielle, take this tissue” Fay, says with a worrisome look on her face

Whilst trying to catch a breath, Brielle says “I didn’t know what to wear so I ended up running late which means I had to run all the way here but it’s okay I’m fine now thank you. It is sort of my fault for not sorting out my outfit the night before”

“Okay thank God because I was worried for a second, haha so what Café do wanna go to? I can pay as well I have money, my mum gave me some before I left .” Fay said with a smile

“Let’s go Costa I would say Starbucks but Starbucks is very expensive. I got a drink there once and it was £4 for a small. How ridiculous is that ha ha”

“Right I mean do you drink so good so I guess I sort of understand what the pricing is beyond ridiculous” Fay says in response.

Walking to the café, it is quiet none of them speak except today exchange looks from time to time until Brielle says.

“So Fay, are you okay from yesterday? I was getting really worried when you started crying and I don’t know how to deal with people's emotions because I’m bad at it myself so I hope I wasn’t a burden“

“Oh God, no Brielle, thank you so much for being there for me. I usually don’t cry in front of people because I think it is a weakness so it was nice to know that someone didn’t judge me for crying” Fay says looking down at the ground

“ Hey, we made it to Costa,” Brielle says with a smirk on her face.

They both sit down after choosing an empty place to sit far away from the people who are also sitting in the Costa.

“Hey, do you want anything to eat and drink? They have pretty good cakes here” Brielle announced to Fay

“Don’t worry about paying, I have money, so I can pay for both of us obviously if you don’t mind “ Fay Replied while taking out her wallet

“You can sit down, just tell me what you want and I can buy it for you and please there’s no need to pay me back either. It’s a treat for helping me last week”

“Oh okay, thank you. I will pay you back in another way. If you don’t want my money can I please have a large coconut latte with a shortcake “ Brielle chuckled

“Okay, I will order that right now”

Fay thinks to herself “I cannot believe I am on a study date, what if she doesn’t even think it is one I mean she did say study date last week but that can mean absolutely anything“

“Ah, do you need help with the things Fay?” Brielle hurries over to take a tray from Fay.

“I was fine, thank you for helping though I appreciate it,” Fay says in embarrassment.

“Is Fay okay? She looks ill” Brielle assumes in her thoughts

After eating, the girls start to study their history.

“Brielle can you help with the first question,” Hesitatingly asked Fay

“After 2 long hours of Studying, we’re finally done. How do you feel, smarter?” Brielle jokingly says with a Smile

Fay replies Shamelessly “Ah yes, I feel like even I could pass you in our next history exam haha”

Brielle's face starts heating up.

“Oh, are you okay Brielle, your face suddenly got hot. Let me have a look”

Fay leans over and places her hand on Brielle's forehead.

“Oh god your head is heating up, let me run to get you a wet paper towel”

As Fay urgently runs off to fetch Brielle a paper towel, Brielle throws her hands in her face.

“God I looked pathetic back there, I know it. My face burned up so quickly, the worst thing is she noticed… how embarrassing”

2 minutes later….

“Hey Brielle, I got the wet paper towel to give me your head” Fay worryingly exclaimed.

As Fay puts the paper towel on Brielle's Forehead, they lock eyes, both of them go rose-red and instantly look away in embarrassment.

“I- I’m sorry for invading your private space,” Fay says as she runs to the bathroom

Brielle Shouts “Fuck I’m screwed” loudly for everyone to hear her.

As Brielle, is sitting down by herself, questioning everything after causing a slight commotion after she shouted out loud in a café at 10 in the morning Fay comes back from the bathroom and says

“Hey, I’m sorry if I made you uncomfortable back, then it wasn’t my intention. I just wanted to put the wet paper towel on your head so you can cool down “

Briel slowly looks up with tears running down her eyes, and her face still being bright red looks Fay in her eyes and says “this isn’t your fault, I just got flustered I’m not really used to being really close to people I genuinely like my own space so that’s why he has nothing to do with you. Don’t worry no need to apologise. “she says whilst Rubbing on her legs.

Fay asks “can I come close to you for a second? “

“Yeah, sure, I guess what is it?” Brielle embarrassingly says

As Fay slowly, got close to Brielle she wiped her tears of her face softly with a tissue she had taken from her bag. As she is wiping Brielles’ tears away. Both of their faces goes red again, and they decided to just go out for some fresh air.

“ God, I didn’t realise it was going to be that hot in costa. If I knew I wouldn’t have went” Brielle says.

”oh, sorry for dragging you out. I didn’t know you didn’t want to be here today. I apologise for wasting your time “ Fay expresses

“ oh crap, that’s not what I meant. I just meant I forgot how hot cross the words don’t worry I enjoyed my time I spent their“

They both stood in silence, waiting for one another to start a sentence up the wind got heavier, but the Sun is still shining so brightly. They both look up and at the same time says.

“WOW”

They both throw their heads at each other in shock, and then start laughing. They finally decided to walk from Costa and go to the park, still admiring the surroundings of the trees, the couples walking by the adults on the work run.

“ hey, so I know you’re nice, but we can sit and talk” Brielle mutters

“Do you mean the park because if so I am down I’m down for anything but I’m down. If you meant the park there’s a nice tree that we could sit under”

They both slowly walk towards the park Brielle starts to sway towards Fay in a flirtatious way nothing too suspicious, but just enough to get a vibe to see what Fay might do, if she found out with someone who is the same sex, like her.

“Um hey Fay just a question you don’t need to answer if you feel like it is uncomfortable” Brielle Says

“sure what’s the question “ Fay Replies willingly.

“Have you been in a relationship? like at all in your life.”

Brielle says eagerly while watching Fays’ every movement before she starts to answer the question, and before Brielle can attempt to take back the question she had just asked Fay quietly says:

“I mean I’ve been in a relationship but I don’t think I liked them the way that they had like me. I don’t know it was complicated on my end. I felt bad for ending it but it wasn’t making me happy ”

As Fay had given Brielle her answer Brielle Horace towards her, and give her a hug, and says:

“ I know what you mean I was in that exact situation two years ago. This guy he liked me and asked me out and five of his friends so I accepted his confession. I didn’t feel anything for him and I felt bad for turning him down in front of all of his friends. So I dated him because I thought that eventually I would gain feelings. However, I didn’t so I…”

“ ended it” Fay says as she cut Brielle off

“Yeah, I ended it, at least I’m not dating someone I didn’t have feelings for in the first place “

“it was good that you ended the relationship if it was a making you happy. There was no point in being in it, a relationship is supposed to make you feel happy and secured, and I miss you mean none of us were in that situation when we were with our ex“ Fay Explains whilst taking out her phone

Brielle stops for a minute and just admires Fay there’s no exact reasoning at that point for what she was feeling and why she did what she did. However, she just jumped on Fay and hugged her.

“Thank you for understanding and reassuring me. You did great today it was the right thing to do for both of us. ” Brielle replies, whilst holding onto Fay like she is her property.

“Bri I thought you were like the kids in our class immature, not giving a shit about school I will write disrespectful. Turns out I was wrong “ Fay says apologetically

“I’m shocked that you thought I was that type of person, but I understand because the people who I hang out with, I’m not the best people to look up toYou might say so I take no offence.”

“Crap, why did it have to rain right now come let’s find some shelter, we don’t want to get wet.“ Fay says whilst dragging Bri to a warm place.

As Fay is dragging Bri She noticed her heart pumping really quickly. She firstly assumed it was because of her low iron, but that day she had taken her medication. The only explanation that she was able to think of is if she had feelings for that girl that she once though was a delinquent. She had never felt those feelings like that before. Yeah, she was in relationship, but she didn’t have any romantic feelings towards them, so this felt different very different.

As they reach the warm shelter that was talked about, Fay slowly releases Brielles hands from hers and she just looks down at her hands, and she fills her cheeks flushing.

“Do you need my scarf? I can give it to you Fay I have a spare one of my bag just in case my mum makes me carry them“ Brielle says with a concerned look on her face.

Brielle, takes her scarf off and wraps it around Fay once again she notices Fays cheeks being bright red again, and she quickly takes a step back.

“I didn’t wanna make you uncomfortable, Are you okay is it because you’re cold?” Brielle worryingly says.

“I’m not cold is only about it thank you for the scarf as well. I don’t know why but my cheeks keep getting hot every time I’m around you I don’t know what it is I should probably see a doctor “ Fay says as zips up her jacket for warmth.

“To be completely honest, it happens to me as well. I still don’t know what it is but me too.” Brielle exclaimed.

As the rain trickles down, they both look into each other’s eyes everything poses the living organisms around them. The rain suddenly stops and they both turn red again, however, a loud ring into wraps the current situation it was Fay’s Mother, checking up on her because she hasn’t gotten home yet, and it is 1 pm.

“Sorry, I’ll take that, it’s my mother probably checking up on me because I should’ve been home by now give me a minute”

Five minutes later Fay comes back from being on the phone with her mum and she says to Bri that she needs to leave because her Mother is waiting for.

“Hey, so I’ve got to go, I will make sure I text you when I get home. Please get home safe “ Fay says.

“Thank you for spending time with me today and our study session. I will contact you. You be safe too”

As Brielle walked home, because the rain stopped tops for a second and thinks to herself if she liked Fay everything is pointing to it. Her sudden hotness every time she’s near her cheeks going red She gets shy around her, which is very unlike her because she is an extrovert.

“Do I like her?” Brielle matters to herself whilst she walks home.
