"I should have known it...", said Luke when he found Kris, his boyfriend and Allie, his step-sister, without clothes together, as he opened the door of the room. The door knob was still clenched by his hand as he was looking down, may be because the view infront of his eyes was too much for him to bear that he can't help but stare at the floor rather than seeing something disgusting like that or may be to hide the tears that had formed in his eyes and were to fall down like the pearls, or atleast this is what it seemed like to us.

" Good thing! You found it by yourself or we would had to keep pretending", a maroon haired girl, which obviously was Luke's step-sister Allie, spoke in her adenoidal voice.

Lighting his cigarette, Kris accompanied his partner to mock Luke by saying, "Well, I am not feeling even a little bit of sympathetic for you, afterall it was always you, who kept pestering me to be your date. I was never interested anyways, so it's not my fault that I double crossed you", and completed by releasing a puff of smoke and saying " We are done Luke".

"Oww, don't be so cruel Kris. Can't you see, how much is my brother shocked already? What if he'll get a heart attack? I don't want him to die infront us, we will be only witness of his death, I don't wanna waste my time going to police stations and all...", said Allie in a sarcastic way.

Shocking was the moment when a smirk was to be seen on the face of Luke instead of the expected tears.

" Clap! Clap!", was the sound of the claps that accompanied the smirk.

"What a pair of a bitch and a dog! Absolutely made in heaven!", was a sarcastic comeback by Luke.

Seeing the obvious shocking expressions on the faces of the two traitors, Luke further continued," What? Did you expect me to be crying and begging you guys? Dream on!".

Walking a little closer to his sister, the next was, " Well, I had expected something lower than this from you my DEAR Sister", with a taunting evil smile on face and then turning towards Kris, "And for you, of course you do not deserve me.You surely think too highly of yourself to think that I would beg for love from someone like you", were Luke's words.

The each and every word of insult felt like a heart piercing needle and boiled the blood of both of the new lovers.

" Stray dog! How dare you say something like this to me!", shouted Allie in anger as she threw a pillow towards Luke, who has already left the room and the pillow hit the door. Of course, Luke did not has time to listen to their shits.

Walking out of the house, Luke called his best friend Michelle, who picked up the call on the very second ring.

"Hello..?", spoke Michelle over the phone.

"..."

"Hey, what happen?"

"I broke up with him"

"Oh my God! How?...I mean what happened so suddenly?"

"Let's meet at the bar, We'll talk there"

"Okay".

"I still can't believe he did something like this", Michelle said while taking a sip of his drink.

Whirling the wine in the glass, Luke just 'hummed' as a reply while giving a deep drowning stare to the glass as if he wasn't even listening to Michelle and was roaming in the world of his own thoughts.

With a little scuff, Michelle further continued, "I bet, that bastard will freak out once he will come to know that you are an omega and not a beta..."

"Stop saying it out aloud Michelle", Luke interrupted.

"Oh come on. Not like anyone knows you here. What are you afraid you,huh? Everyone here is just busy with themselves", Michelle kept his point, " I know being a dominant omega is a real big deal but you don't have to keep the guard on all the time".

In reply, Luke just stared at Michelle blankly as if he himself didn't know, why he was like this, but...

But deep down, not too deep not to be recalled, he knew the answer.He knew why he was always so alert, always on guard.

If hiding your identity would have been necessary to keep yourself safe, you would have also done this. Would have tried to keep yourself safe. Would have hidden your identity even if you would have known the fact that how 'special' you are because this 'speciality' might bring danger to you.

It was the time when Luke was of 14 and was doing his middle schooling. It was school's annual medical camp day and the second genders of the students were to be determined that day.

As every common person would be excited for this event that is absolutely a big part of everyone's life, Luke was also, and was getting ready to go to school.

In this world, along with the gender male and female, sub genders or second genders also exists, that are the alphas, the betas and the omegas. Betas are the most common among them while the dominant omegas are very rare because they are produced only when two omegas mate. Even being a male, omegas can bear babies just like females . While Omegas can be recognised by beautiful famine body, alphas are marked as the strongest males and are known for masculinity. One's sub-gender can be determined at the age of about 14-15 years. Most of the people prefer to be an alpha as they rule the society.

Getting back to the story, as Luke was about to leave the house for the school, he heard some noises from his parents' room that caught his attention because the topic of their 'talks' was Luke.

"But what if he won't be an omega?!", Mrs. Astor, Luke's step-mom was yelling on someone who probably was no other than Luke's father.

"Darling believe me, his mother was a rare omega herself. I am sure, if not a dominant one, he surely would be a submissive omega atleast", Mr.Astor said assuring his wife.

"That better would be the reality or raising this piece of trash for all these years would go in vain", said Mrs.Astor annoyingly.

"Don't worry love. Once he will grow up, we will sell him for a huge amount of money. That omega is our golden egg laying hen, just bear with him for a few more years".

Hearing something like this was indeed a big shock for Luke. Even if he knew that his step-mother do not like him but he had not expected something as cruel as this from his father.

Although his father was not an omega but because his mother was a rare one, call it his luck, he was also an omega.

Trying to control his tears, clenching his school bag, Luke ran out of the house and did not go to school that day. Later, by the school's off time, he came back to school and told that he came out to be a beta and the written reports will be out in about a week. Afterwards, he went to some hospital with Michelle and got his gender checked and Dang! He came out to be an omega! And a dominant one! But Michelle somehow managed to get the fake reports and luckily, Luke's parents were convinced by the reports. Although they were very annoyed because it shredded their dreams of coating themselves with dollars but God knows, why they still let Luke live at their home.

"You have done so much to hide your identity", Michelle said while raising his hand, signalling the bartender for an another drink.

Luke 'hummed' again as a reply as if he wasn't interested in talking about this topic.

"Wasn't getting all these piercings and tattoos painful?", asked the curious Michelle.

"Hmm.."

"Hey! Are you evening listening to me?", Michelle gave Luke a shove, when he found him not paying very much of attention to his words.

Talking about the Michelle's question, Luke had got some piercings in ear, lips and eyebrow and also got some tattoos, basically to look a little less like an omega. Moreover he keeps on a kind of a bad boy look because it provides him more of a masculine look. He prevents talking with others and behaves coldly, rather than Michelle because he has been with him, before he found his sub-gender.

"Let's go back. It's getting late, we have college tomorrow", saying so, Luke got up from his seat.

"Hey stop! Now you are running away, leaving me here!", Michelle shouted from behind as he ran towards Luke after paying.

They left the bar, thinking that no one heard their conversation, but little did they know, that their each and every word had reached the ears of someone other than they two.

"Carlos, get me the information of the brunette haired boy who was sitting right beside me", said a woman who was probably in her 40s, dressed in a way that gave out a bossy kind of vibe with a smooch of elegance.

The guy with her, who seemed as some kind of manager or PA, bowed as signal of carrying out her order which tells us that the woman would must be having some high links.

"You sure you'll be fine on your own?", asked Luke confirming from Michelle, as they were about to part their ways back to their homes.

"Yes", 'hiccup', "I am totally", 'hiccup', " fine", replied the drunk Michelle giving Luke thumbs up while walking back with clumsy steps on his path.

"Okay then, see you tomorrow".

It was already 10 o'clock that means Luke has already exceeded his limit by an hour and he was sure to get a whole good bunch of taunts and reviles, not only because of being late but because of the event that happened earlier.Like, of course, Allie will not sit keeping hand on hand after being called a bitch.

Thankfully, everyone was slept by the time he reached home. So, he just went to his so called 'room' which was more like store room with an old single bed at a corner and no possible source of light.

The alarm rang next morning and Luke woke up. Luke's college timing is 9:00 a.m. so he usually wake up around 7:00 a.m. That's enough time for him to do his chores, like getting ready and preparing breakfast for everyone. But today Luke had to wake up at 6 o'clock only because of a so called 'human alarm' that was none other than his dear step-mom.

On opening his eyes, Luke found Mrs.Astor standing beside his bed, staring at him like she will eat him up the very next moment. Anger was to be seen in her eyes and her big bulgy body was moving like huff & puff with every ingoing and outgoing volume of air through her nostrils.

Beside her was Luke's dear step-sister, who was passing a malicious smile and was waiting impatiently, to see her dear step-brother being scolded.

"Did you call my daughter a bitch?", said Mrs.Astor, with an obvious angry look on her round moon face, which had gone all red with anger.

Getting down the bed Luke said," Yes, because I think, this is what you should call someone who snatches other's boyfriend", and went towards the bathroom.

Luke's reply enraged Mrs.Astor more.She started abusing Luke and threw a huge tantrum for about half an hour but Luke was like not giving a shit to any of her words and just simply did his chores and got ready for the school. He has been living with this family for almost 20 years so Luke didn't find these things a big deal now as if they were a part of his daily life.

After completing all the chores, Luke went for school.But at the home, the matter hasn't cooled down.Luke's behaviour has got him on the nerves of Mrs.Astor and she wasn't going to let this matter go easily.

"Mom, did you just see how he disrespected you? Is this what we got for letting him stay under our roof for all these years?", Allie said to fan the fire.

"Don't worry, sweetheart. I'll make sure he'll pay for what he he did. I'll make him face the hell".

At the other side, Luke has reached the college and was attending his classes peacefully.

It was lunch time now.

"You fine now?"asked Luke.

"Hmm, yeah. I just had a mild headache this morning",Michelle replied while chewing his food and added," Hey Luke, why don't you move out? I mean, you are already 19, so why not?".

"...", Luke kept chewing his food as if he was thinking of an answer.

"I know it will be hard for you as your part time job don't pay you enough that you can rent an apartment but you can borrow money from me and can rent a small room for the time being. That still would be better that living with your parents.I mean, you know them better than me, they wanted to sell you, so I am just worried..."

"I know Michelle", Luke interrupted.

"It's not like I want to live with them either.They wanted to sell me for money and I can't trust any one them,not even my own father. I also just want to go far away from them as soon as possible but you the rules of our college.If I won't be having a gaurdian, college mangement will throw me out of the school".

Realising this fact, Michelle sighed in disappointment and said, "what a troublesome.."

"Once the application I have made will get approved and launched, I'll get enough money to move out and live on my own and by the time, I would have also done my graduation, then I can get admission in a good university".

Yes, Luke has created his own app. He has high programming skills and he had made an application.Also, he loves studying very much, that's why he wants to get admitted into a good university.

Suddenly the bell rang, that means the break time was over, so Luke put his half eaten sandwich back in his lunch box because if the mood of Mrs.Astor would still be the same as it was in the morning, that sandwich was going to be the only dinner of Luke for tonight.
