Celina guided Esther around the house, eventually reaching the playroom where the children were engaged in lively play.

Celina: Ben, I’d like you to meet someone. This is Esther, she’s the new nanny. She's going to be looking after you and your sister.

Esther: Hello, you’re a handsome boy.

Ben: Hi, thanks.

Esther: How old are you?

Ben: 5.

Esther: Wow, that big? What a big boy. What’s your sister's name?

Ben: Zaya.

Esther: She’s very pretty and absolutely adorable.

Ben: Are you going to date my dad?

Esther: No, little one, why do you ask?

Ben: Just wondering.

Celina: Previous nannies were more interested in Logan than in taking care of the children.

Esther: I see. I am just here to work for your father and to take care of you two.

Ben: I have a little dog, she lives at grandma’s house, her name is Lilica.

Esther: Really? Is she pretty?

Ben: Yes.

Esther: Will you show her to me one day?

Ben: Yes, next time dad takes us there, you’ll see.

Esther: Okay. Can I play with you?

Ben: Yes.

Esther sat on the carpet, tending to Zaya as she sat and played, while also giving Ben attention. He was a truly charming boy.

Time passed and Logan was monitoring the playroom via cameras, wanting to see whether Esther would mistreat the children like others had.

Esther bathed Zaya, helped Ben get dressed, and they went to the dining room for dinner.

Emerging from his office, Ben ran to Logan and hugged his legs.

Celina: Dinner is ready.

Logan: Okay, let’s have dinner then.

Esther: Celina, could you take Zaya? I should be going now.

Ben: Stay, Esther, my dad will let you.

Esther: I have to go, little prince. But I’ll be back first thing tomorrow to wake you up.

Ben: Okay.

Esther: See you tomorrow.

She said her goodbyes to Logan and Celina with her head bowed.

Celina: See you tomorrow, dear.

Logan: The driver will take you.

Esther: No need, sir, I can take a taxi.

Logan: You need to.

He spoke coolly, his gaze fixed on her. Without further discussion, Esther accepted the ride from the driver to her home.

Upon arrival, she heated up some food in the oven, took a shower, ate, and started to get things ready for the next day.

Esther woke up early, resigned from her support house job, returned home, and found the driver waiting for her.

She quickly gathered her things, received help from the driver, and they headed to the mansion.

Upon arrival, a security guard took her belongings to her room. She left everything as it was and proceeded to wake Ben as promised.

Esther sat on the floor, gently stroked his hair, and he gradually woke up.

Esther: Good morning, little prince.

Ben: Esther? You came.

Esther: It's me. I made good on my promise. Time to get up, little one.

Ben: Okay. Can you give me a bath?

Esther: Of course. Let's go.

She carried him to the bath, and the warm water refreshed him. Esther dressed him in his school uniform, told him to go have breakfast, and then she went to wake Zaya.

Little Zaya was already awake, chewing on her fingers. Esther bathed her, dressed her in comfortable clothes, and they headed for the living room.

Everyone was at the table. Celina handed Esther a bottle, then instructed her to sit down at the table. Esther hesitated, but Logan nonchalantly nodded, prompting her to sit beside Ben and feed Zaya her bottle.

Ben: Are you taking me, Esther?

Esther: Yes, I am. Eat up so you can be strong.

Ben: I’ll be just like dad.

Esther: That you will, in no time.

Proudly, he ate while Logan observed Esther’s demeanor, unlike past nannies who would flirt with him and vie for a seat beside him. Esther was different since her arrival; she had not cast glances of interest or malice towards him. She seemed innocent, treating his children well, being gentle and courteous.

Zaya swiftly finished her milk and playfully slapped the table, smiling at Logan, who then requested to hold her. Esther passed Zaya to his arms, he offered her a piece of fruit, and she delighted in it.

After Ben finished eating and brushed his teeth, looking quite grown-up, Celina handed Esther two schedules for the children, now clear why Ben was so sharp-witted. Soon, Ben came downstairs, received a simple farewell from Logan, grabbed his backpack, and they left.

Esther accompanied Ben to school, noting his excitement as it was rare for him not to be alone with the driver or occasionally with Celina, if she found time.

She kissed him goodbye at the school entrance, straightened his attire, and watched until he disappeared from her sight.

The affection she felt for him was incredible, how could it be so fast? Perhaps it was because Ben was as sweet, caring, bewitching, talkative, and charming as she was. Returning to the car, she arrived at the mansion and found Zaya playing on the carpet. Logan informed Celina he'd be gone for a month, leaving Esther stunned. How could he depart so indifferently towards his own children?

Yet Celina showed no shock, simply wishing him a safe journey. It appeared this man was an iceberg, not even bestowing a kiss on Zaya. Esther resumed playing with Zaya, who eventually wanted to nap. She settled her into an automatic rocking chair, sat on the couch, and began drafting the children’s meal plans.
