...I V A N O V A...
"Elauf Alavaur!" I chanted one of my powerful magic. The war between hunters and the creatures of the night has been kept in going and going for centuries.
I am a witch who was befriended by a prince of darkness who will soon become the king.
I may admit to myself that I had once fallen to him but that was a century ago. He had a face that can beat Adonis, but was cold as an ice and brutal as a demon he could be.
And this day, is our last war against the hunters.
The wolves and the vampires had come to agree to step the hatred away against one another and join forces in order to defeat the hunters, who's organization began to grew bigger and they know they need to stop them from growing and destroy them, before the hunters could.
"Igancium Flaria!" I casted as they burned in flames, their scream was full of pain. I took a deep breath in and out and continue to moved on but I had seem to be lost.
The Manor was big but not as big as the castle of the famous royal. As I walked to one of the hall ways, finding my way back to the others, I heard a shackles of chains that was seemed to be coming from the one of the rooms.
I know for myself and I can sense for myself that this is not good don't but curiosity got me the best, as always.
My feet dragged me to the deeper part of the manor as I followed the sounds of the chains.
I happened to ended up in front of an old oak door, the only odd door who was differ from the other doors that I passed.
Some part of me tells myself to turn back and leave but the other speaks louder and tell me to open the door and looked what is beneath this odd door.
Instead of turning my back and look for the others, I found myself twist the knob.
The door creaked as the room was conquered and covered by darkness with a smell of faint blood, I stepped in and as a blood of puddle greeted me.
I can't shake this feeling, this disturb feeling and I know for myself that this is not good but at the same time it is.
I chanted a spell that lights the whole room.
I felt my heart skip a bit, I felt my knees numb and limp, my eyes were wide as if they were about to pop out.
The sight.
Oh the sight.
How could they be so cruel?
This cruelty was beyond that I could ever imagined, how could they do this to a mere child?

"Are you sure about this , Ivanova?" Casper asked me once again. I shook my head and gave him the reassuring smile that I could ever gave him.
I had come to conclusion that I will leave this world.
I can't take a risk, I had enough of this things and I can't take it anymore.
The war has ended well and we won that war, that war that causes bloodshed but was never heard of by others, who we call them humans.
It's time for me to have a good life, a better life, a normal one.
The one that I've always wanted.
He haven't arrived yet and I know he doesn't want too.
He hated goodbyes, he always does and I do understand that he seems to be busy since he had been crowned as the king, and now negotiating with the wolves and other creatures of the night.
I just let out a sigh and smiled brightly before I looked at my back.
"Let's go?" I asked, this past few weeks, I put all my attention in searching for an answer.
An answer that kept me questioned and once I had found that answer. I know that I need to leave.
She looked at me and gave me one of her warmest smile she could ever had, she nodded at me.
"Okay Mama."
And we left.
Left the world that I had once knew and I knew that I could not go back, for now

...5 YEARS LATER...
"Chase her!"
How? How could they find me? I had hidden for years and left that world without a traced that I was there, so how did they find me?
I ran and ran to the deepest part of the forest. I will not led them to her. I know for myself that this day would come and my life will end here and there.
I was about to accept my fate, my destiny but I can't. I still wanted to be with her, took care of her, and watch her grow to ensure that she live a normal life, away from this.
As I was running, I felt pain, an unbearable pain in my neck. I felt myself weaken and stumble into the ground.
I have to hurry, I promised her that I would be there.
"Is that a promise?"
"Yes it is" I chuckled, she jump with joy and hugged me as she gave me kisses.
"A promise it is then!"
I heard foot steps walking towards me as I crawl but I was dragged up as two men hold my arm tightly.
"Won't you look at that" She said
I felt her stopped a few meters away from my foot.
I don't need to look to know who it is because I already f*cking know who it is, she and sat up to meet my gaze.
"Ivanova, alive in a flesh" She said with a smile on her lips.
"Oh, it is the infamous Darcy Winch who have been kicked out from the king himself, out of his room, n@ked" Her faced turned red out of anger and furious.
Then a sudden, she slapped me and oh yes, it echoed through the silence of the night sky forest.
I can taste my own ironic blood, I spit it out of my mouth and looked at her, still mad and furious.
"Ansetia Mlokuer." I chanted. Her eyes widened as she flew towards a near tree, away from my face.
"F*ck! I'm hurt! I am very much f*cking hurt!" She cried in pain and sat down on the ground while whining, one of the man helped her.
"Quesar." He chanted in order to heal and make the pain go away that I caused from her then a man groaned, he took a step towards me as he grabbed me by my chin.
"Tell me, where is the child." He asked with a murderous look in his eyes
"What child?"
"I f*cking hate to repeat myself witch."
"So do I." I hissed at him. His eyes darkened with rage and in a snap he gave me a f*king blow to my stomach that caused me to spit more blood.
"Tell me where the f*ck is the child!" He roared out at me and grabbed me by my hair.
I winced in pain. I closed my eyes and inhaled and exhaled deeply and chanted a spell that made their eyes widened.
"Enflaria De Plosiquore!"
"F*ck!" He cursed out loud.
I found myself smiling out of nowhere and looked at the cold starry night sky who's started to rain meteor shower.
I guess I can't go, I'm sorry. With that I felt a tear escaped my eyes with a smile of my lips looking at the sky.
Be a good girl, Azenethe.
...E I R I K...
I let out of a sigh of frustration as I pinch the upper bridge of my nose. There's a lot of work to do. As I was looking at some document, he kept on groaning
"Keep quiet Demetrius" I said coldly, giving all of my attention to the papers that I have. Demetrius kept on making some this noises and it annoys the hell out of me. "I said shut the f*ck up!"
He groaned one last time and let his @ss fall back to the sofa once again. Demetrius, the king of the wolves.
He started to act like we are somewhat kind of friends, even we're not. We only joined forces with them in order to win the war that was running for centuries.
After that, we came to a conclusion, an agreement between us vampires and wolves, a friendship. I looked at him as his face was full of frustration
"Why are you here Demetrius?" I asked plainly as my eyes were still focusing of the paperwork's in my hands
"I don't understand girls!" He complained as he throw his head back to the sofa while resting his arms at the both opposite sides. His Sister Alyssa was been pregnant and ran away from her mate and now. Demetrius has to hear her tantrums and complain
"Don't get me involve with your own problems, Demetrius."
"But aren't you supposed to comfort me?"
"Comfort you?" I asked while I raise a brow of mine and looked at him.
"I mean we're friends."
"Your the only one who thinks that we are." I said, looking back at my papers. He touched his chest and reacted like he was hurt by my words. I just ignored him.
"By the way, a week from now would be Ivanova's 9th death anniversary." I stopped from what I was doing. It was still a shock to me that she died, or more like she self-destruct in some ways. It was still a mystery, why would she do that?
According to the information there was a faint of three bodies near her and one from a meter away before she explode. She left this world for some reasons saying that she wanted a normal life and away from this.
And I knew she was hiding something, something she wanted to protect. She left no trace and hid perfectly just to protect that something
What was she protecting?
"It's been nine years, and you haven't visited her." Demetrius said, which is also true.
The day that I heard about her being passed away, I didn't got to go to her funeral nor even visited her.
Only Demetrius did. And for some reasons, they seem to be closed to each other when she's still alive.
"Won't you go? I mean you never did even go to her funeral."
"I am busy for that kind of stuff, Demetrius."
"B*llsh*t! She was also your friend, God d@mn it!" He exclaimed, he stood up and walked towards me and slammed both of his hand in my table.
I glance at him and back to my papers.
"At least give some respect to her daughter."
I stopped.
"Wait. Daughter? Ivanova had a daughter?" I asked again.
"Yeah, Ivy adopted a child." He said, shrugging his shoulders.
I kept on silence.
"And besides, you are the guardian of that child." He said, and I was lost in words for a second.
"Wait, a guardian? Me?"
"Yeah, Ivanova left a letter." He said, placing a piece of envelope in my table.
Why would she do that?
Why me?
"Just at least see the child, just once." He said before he left without another word.
I just let out a sigh as I stare at the envelope, for a very long time when a knock appear behind my door.
"What?"
"Sorry to disturb you My King but." He paused for a brief moment and continued. "Count Valiente wanted to seek for your presence"
*sigh*
"I'll be there." I said and let out a deep breath.
We fangers, or so you called us 'Vampires', lived for eternity. We don't burn under the bright hot sun nor we will die caused by a holy water.
But yes, sliver can harm us, cut us, and can kill us. Goes with the wolves. We aren't like those what humans saw on televisions as they believed to be.
Our existence was still a secret from this world.
I've been a king for over 14 years after the great war, between us creatures and the hunters. We've lost hundreds of our men but it was worth a risk, we won the war.
A month after the war, I haven't seen Ivanova until I heard she's leaving. Not to another place, but leaving this world. For good.
After talking to Valiente, I returned to my office and continued my paper works until my eyes landed at the very same envelope that Demetrius left.
I grabbed that piece of envelope and opened it, reading the letter that Ivanova left.

...Dear Eirik,...
...Or should I call you 'Your Excellency, Your Highness, or Your Majesty'? Which would you prefer?...
...I know that 'Time is Gold' so I'll just go straight to the point. I know that this is a shock, knowing that in just a snap, you've become a guardian of a child. I know that I had left without saying a word to you that I'll be leaving, but I have too....
...I know that this day would come. Knowing that my life will come to an end sooner or later and I had already accepted that fate....
...Please do protect her from them, at any cost....
...— Ivanova...
...────༺☾︎༻────...
After reading the letter, I leaned to my chair and closed my eyes and opened them slowly as I stared up to the ceiling.
"I guess I have to take a day off then." I said to myself with a smile to my lips.
And with that, I knew I had found my answer. My answer to my own question.
Ivanova wasn't protecting something, rather it was someone.
