"Hazel, are you coming out or not?" A girl with a short brown straight hair said as she stood opposite the door.

"Charlotte,life is all about taking time to look good in front of your enemies." Hazel replied in the room as she applied her lipstick, looking at the mirror.

"Look good in front of your enemies or Derek?" Charlotte said with a smirk as she moved closer to the door, putting her ear on it, hoping she could hear a smile or a blush.

The door opened suddenly, showing Hazel who was dressed with a white dress added with a off shoulder hand, with her brown bag matching her brown eyes and a full small pink lips and her long striaght hair.

"I don't have any crush." Hazel said making Charlotte fall to the ground.

Hazel gasped, bending down to pick Charlotte up.

"Are you okay? What are you doing so close to the door?" Hazel said as Charlotte stood up, dusting her body.

Charlotte scoffed, "No crush, huh?"

"Yeah, it's a get together party, I won't look at Derek." Hazel said not looking at Charlotte.

"Why don't you look at me in eyes? Let me know what you are saying is true."

"Look, I can't promise you. I haven't seen Derek since college, it's been a year, how do you expect me not to look at me?" Hazel said as she wore her coat.

"It's been over a year,I really want to see Derek." Charlotte micked her.

"You need to stop acting like a child." Hazel said, as they both walked to the door.

"Instead on having a faithful crush on a guy, why don't you just ask him out?" Charlotte said, as they both came out of the house.

"Good already made idea," Hazel said with a smile, as they both entered Charlotte's car.

"What do you mean," Charlotte continued as she started the engine, "Already made idea." Charlotte added as she began to drive.

"Well, I was planning on asking Derek out tonight." Hazel said as Charlotte stopped the car.

Charlotte looked at Hazel, "What? You want to ask Derek out?"

"Yes, you always advise me to do it, so I've made up my mind to tell him, any problem?"

"Umm," Charlotte looked at the steering wheel as she started the engine again, "I was just thinking, maybe you shouldn't do it today."

"Charlotte, Derek is a CEO of his father's company, he's always busy, I've never seen him in a long time except on TV and now it's my time, I don't want to miss the opportunity." Hazel said, taking her phone as she turned it on.

"You even used him as your wallpaper." Charlotte said, looking at Hazel's phone as she continued to drive.

"You need to look at where you are driving, do you want us to die?" Hazel said, putting her phone, back into her bag.

Charlotte smiled as she looked at the road, "You are a nurse."

"Of a local hospital." Hazel said in a soft voice.

"At least, it's popular in that particular area." Charlotte said with a smirk, "And at least, you are a trained nurse."

"So what are you trying to say now? That you want us to have an accident."

"Since you are a nurse, we are safe." Charlotte said happily as she speed the car.

"Charlotte." Hazel shouted.

"Are you hungry, Penelope?" Michael said as he rubbed his hand on a slender arm.

"No." Penelope said as her stomach grumbled, making Micheal laugh.

Penelope sat upright on the couch, looking at Michael, "It's not funny."

"I'm sorry, babe." Michael said as he tried to move closer to Penelope but she stood up. "What's wrong? Since, you came, you have been moody."

"I'm not moody." Penelope said as she folded her hands under her ******.

"Really, you are not even enjoying your favorite show." Michael said as he stood up.

"I'm just on my period, that's all." Penelope said with a forced smile.

Michael smirked, "Your period? You think, I don't know when you are on your period, you are always shouting and restless, if you are on your period."

"I think, it's a different mood." Penelope said.

"Penelope, we have been dating for two years and you expect me not to know you too well." Michael said.

"Babe," Penelope said, moving closer to Michael as she hugged him, "I'm sorry."

Michael hugged her back, "You know, you can tell me anything."

"I am just having a hard time at work." Penelope muttered slowly.

"Is it Emily?" Michael said.

"Hmm." Penelope pouted her lips like a baby.

"You look like a baby now, don't you?" Michael said, holding Penelope's chin with his finger.

"Really." Penelope laughed.

"How about I make you forget about work tonight and we should have a good time? " Michael said as he kissed Penelope's neck slowly.

"Hmm." Penelope moaned, "But wait, Mom would be expecting me by nine, I have to go."

"Come on, we have thirty minutes to have fun." Michael said as he continued.

"Wait, I'm hungry, remember?" Penelope said, putting on a sad face,"I promise to have fun, with you, later."

"And here we are." Charlotte said as packed her car in front of a restaurant.

"Mingles." Hazel said reading the sign post before she gasped, "Mingles," She said looking at Charlotte.

"What?" Charlotte said, looking at her with a shocked face too, "What is it?"

"Mingles, it's a top class restaurant." Hazel said.

"So, I'm a top class." Charlotte said with a smile as she got down of the car.

Charlotte and Hazel entered the restaurant, they could see their friends sitting round a big table.

"I didn't know, we were this much in school." Hazel said as they both just stood, looking at everyone's movement.

"You were a nerd, what do you expect?" Charlotte said with a scoff.

A guy from the center table, started to wave them.

"Who's he?" Hazel said.

"He's Richard one of our course mates, he's married with two kids but his wife died two months ago." Charlotte said as she waved him back.

"Poor soul." Hazel said as Richard continued to wave.

"By the way, why can't he stop waving us?" Charlotte said.

"Derek." Richard said.

"Derek, please don't tell me Derek is at our back." Hazel said, closing her eyes tightly.

"Do you want to turn around?" Charlotte said with her teeth closed.

"Yes."

After a long time, I get to see Derek Step, my long time crush, the last time I saw Derek, was in college on graduation day, dressed in that graduation outfit, it really suit him and then I really wanted to ask him out but I couldn't even try but now I would see him now and ask him later probably.

Hazel turned around slowly when she saw Derek.He had a Mohican cut and scythe-shaped eyebrows. His Roman nose and half-dome cheekbones sat above an oaken jaw. His wrestler’s shoulders were part of his burly physique. He walked with a tiger like tread and his nomad-blue eyes twinkled. They were Saturn round and were a-flush with triumph after his job promotion of being the CEO of his father's company. His derring-do personality and bass voice were a big part of his ambitious character. He always wore nifty clothes and his spicy aroma was appealing.

"Derek, you still look the same, since I last met." Charlotte said as she hugged him while Hazel just admired him from afar like she always do.

"Oh you are still full of yourself, the last time we met was at a meeting contract. " Derek said.

"Oh yeah, I totally forgot, your beautiful face makes it look like ages." Charlotte said as Derek laughed and looked at Hazel.

Hazel's breath hooked at his stare.

"Hazel right?" Derek said, moving closer to her.

"Yes and you are must be Derek." Hazel said as Derek stopped a inch close to her.

"No need to be formal, we both went to school together." Derek said.

"Hey baby." A tiny voice could be heard making Hazel's face frown.

"Emma Derry."

The name played on Hazel's ear, as Emma came close, giving Derek a warm hug.

"Let's go." Emma said, dragging Derek to the dinning table.

"As if she didn't notice you." Charlotte said, walking to the dinning as well.

"Such a bully." Hazel muttered under her breath.

Hazel and Charlotte sat together as Hazel looked at each and everyone,they were actually fifteen on the table but she only know few; Megan White,Tent Hunt and Isabella Noah.

Megan White is actually married to a abusive husband with a kid, Tent Hunt is a gay and also a model in a huge company and Isabella Noah,as it's been said and seen, she has a perfect boyfriend, and a perfect job added with a perfect life.

"I mean, I really expected much from the three of them maybe except Isabella Noah."

"Oh Hazel." Emma said in a high pitched voice, interrupting Hazel's thought as everyone looked at Hazel. "It's been long I've seen you."

Hazel looked at Derek, before looking at Emma, "Yeah, it still looks like I'm cursed that that I saw you today."

"Harsh." Tent said as he continued to eat his food.

"But it's still looks like you are blessed for the fact you saw Derek today." Emma said as Hazel looked at Derek who just looked away, "I mean everyone knows your huge crush on him in college and till now, you were just lucky enough to come to our school."

"I thought this was a get together,I never knew we were bringing annoying past." Charlotte said.

"Past is past, Charlotte." Emma said.

"How about we firstly eat this amazing food, before we continue this discussion because it would be nice,if we all have a fair play in this whole issue." Charlotte said as Emma cleared her throat.

"So how is work, Charlotte?" Emma said.

"Being a actress is stressful." Charlotte said as she gulped the whole wine.

"Hmm," Emma said, chewing veggies in her mouth, "At least, everyone here has a perfect job except Hazel who works in a local hospital."

"Oh my God." Hazel said, dropping her spoon on the table.

"Are you really working in a local hospital?" Derek asked slowly as Hazel looked at Derek breathing heavily.

"Yes, probably." Hazel stuttered.

"I mean, you graduated before me and I'm a doctor in a big hospital while you," Emma breathed in, "Are a nurse in a hospital and not just a hospital..a local one,oh my God, Hazel."

"Well, that's your luck." Hazel said.

"I know right, I am so lucky to the extent, Derek and I-" Emma said.

"Stop, it's a get together not an announcement." Derek said in a stern voice.

"But Derek, let's tell everyone, especially her." Emma said, looking at Hazel.

" Are they dating? or are they getting married? Wait, you must date before getting married, right?"

Hazel thought hurriedly.

"No, not now." Derek said.

"Everyone, Derek and I would be getting married next month." Emma said making Isabella choke on wine.

"But how is that possible? I thought, you guys broke up during school days." Richard said.

"Yes and we got back together,it was like a miracle, Hazel." Emma said.

"Well congratulations." Charlotte said as she secretly looked at Hazel, "It's for the best of everyone not to wait too long."

" Does anyone knows how waiting hurts?If pain must come, may it come quickly. Because I have a life to live, and I need to live it in the best way possible. If he has to make a choice, may he make it now. Then I will either wait for him or forget him. But I guess he had already made his choice,am I happy for him?But It's hard being left behind.It's hard to be the one who stays after so much waiting and struggling.

"But are you okay,Hazel?" Emma said with a pouted lips.

Hazel looked at her with a deadly glare, "At least, I'm much okay than you, congratulations." She added looking at Derek.

"Thanks." Derek said in a soft voice.

The loud buzzing of the alarm seemed to disturb Hazel's sleep, she traced her hand to the cabinet as hit the alarm's head, making it fall on the floor.

She sat upright as she stretched her body, going straight to the bathroom, she allowed the warm water pelt on her skin.

"Everyone, Derek and I are getting married next month."

Hazel could remember last night as she switched off the shower coming out of the bathroom.

She wore a long white jeans, a off shoulder black top and a sneaker, she packed her hair in a tight bun and applied lip gloss, she came out of her room, when she saw Charlotte with a mug in a hand as she sipped her morning coffee.

"Good morning." Hazel said as she walked close to Charlotte.

"Hazel, are you okay?" Charlotte asked with a worried face.

"Yes," Hazel said, looking at Charlotte, "What's wrong with me?"

"Yesterday, you left the get together angrily and entered a club and you were really drunk, you even puked on a man's suit."

"What? How come I don't remember anything?" Hazel said.

"I don't know, still surprised, you forgot something like that by the way, Derek helped me get you home." Charlotte said as she walked and sat on the couch.

"Derek, what about Emma? Was she okay with it?" Hazel said as she stood opposite Charlotte.

"Well," Charlotte said taking a magazine from the center of the table, "Emma and Derek had a fight that night, so whoosh. "

"They had a fight." Hazel said slowly.

"And it was later announced that it was just an arranged marriage by both families." Charlotte said, "And again, whoosh."

"Arranged marriage." Hazel said when she had call from her phone, she checked the call contact and saw Annoying Boss. "Charlotte, I love you so much but I really have to go." Hazel said as she moved towards the door.

"Bye, love you too." Charlotte said as the door closed.

"Mom, I want to get going." Penelope said as she kissed her mother's cheek.

"Now, do you really have to go that far to see Amelia,I mean you both can have your amazing time here." Her mother said.

"Mom, Amelia and I haven't seen each other for a long time and now we have decided to meet in our special place like childhood times." Penelope said as her mother sighed softly.

"Okay, but you should be home early." Her mother said as Penelope smiled.

"Sure, mom." Penelope said as she was about to take her leave.

"Wait, take something before you go." her mother said, bringing a cup of tea to her.

"I'm not really hungry, Mom." Penelope said as she pouted her lip.

"Take it." Her mother said making Penelope sighed, taking the cup of tea from her mother as she gulped it all.

"Good girl, now bye bye." Her mother said as Penelope ran out of the house.

Penelope's car stopped in front of an ice cream store, she smiled as she entered the store, when she saw Amelia's back as she was so engrossed on her phone.

Penelope tip toed as she tapped Amelia, making her shriek timidly.

"Nothing." Amelia said, dropping her phone on the table. "So how have you been, BFF?"

"I heard about your marriage with Derrick, have you told Michael?" Amelia asked.

"No, I haven't told him yet." Penelope said putting on a sad face, "I don't know how to tell him,I mean Michael is a very good boyfriend to me and this is what he gets,me getting married to Derrick, someone I don't even know."

"It's okay,by the way,this outing is for fun not to talk about bad times." Amelia said as Penelope smiled.

"Let's order our favorite then."

"Don't worry, I have ordered already,I did the honor." Amelia said.

Hazel wore a nurse dress as she closed her locker, she sighed heavily, coming out of the dresser room.

She saw Alex Hunk, her annoying boss.

"Oh yeah,I remember now." Hazel said as she laughed, making Alex join her in laughing, "I don't love you." Hazel put on a frown frowned face.

Hazel walked slowly on the hospital hallways as she huffed, she was the only one in the hospital now, how depressing?

She took out her phone as she texted Charlotte..

Hazel: I'm on nightshift today, don't wait for me.

Hazel texted as she waited for Charlotte's reply but she didn't respond, Hazel felt a tap on her shoulder making her shriek timdly, turning around when she saw Dylan.

Dylan Hart,he was adored fairer sex for his Teutonic-gold hair. It was a casual jumble sometimes but mostly neat and flowing. His crescent-of-moon eyebrows were thin and narrow. He carried an imperious nose well and his angular cheekbones carved down towards a flinty jaw.The catwalk loved the way he glided with an athletic grace without skipping a beat.

His mariner-blue eyes were orb round and darted constantly, a-gleam with delight and the vigour of youth. They were soft, Irish eyes and swam with joy. His voice could be foghorn loud when he was booming out a guffaw but it was normally mellifluous. His gap year clothes always made him appear younger than his years. Penelope kept on feeling dizzy as she held her head, with lots of headache, she saw a bright light beside,the only thing she heard was a loud bang and how her car rolled two or three times.

"Somebody, please help." She said slowly before closing her eyes.
