Chapter 0: Introduction

A topless warrior standing at the edge of the cliff. He's exhausted and lost his poise because of the dirt and bleeding on his body. He's vision went blurry and weakened but still tried to look eager to the undead infront of him.

"I'll die first than becoming an undead!!!" He shouted at loud

*Guess life's not that bad* He smiled

The warrior jump without any hesitation.

(18 years before)

A boy wake up, the dawn started already. He's still sleepy with a mess blonde wavy hair. He brush his butterscotch eyes to see a clear vision. The room is unpainted and empty that that the only thing he always see is his bed, the table with books at the side and two white curtains covering his window.

He was born from wealthy family, the house shows its aristocracy that the wooden furnitures are well made with shelves at the hall way that the only problem its left unpainted and there are big cargos and barrels in each side containing nice weapons.

A woman Valkyrie opened the door of his room to wake him up. The woman look more barbaric than being valkyrie considering a well built body and bossy she was also holding a big scythe than using sword.

He looked at the woman.

The woman is serious. “Phoenix, the king awaits you at his throne” It was a command

“Where is mom, is she back Azil?” Phoenix asked.

“I'll be waiting outside don’t let Majesty wait for you” Azil replied.

Phoenix Nodded and the woman walked outside his room.

He sighed sadly.

He left his room and see the Valkyrie waiting at the dining hall.

“ Let's go” he commanded.

The valkyrie woman sighed secretly and they left the mansion owned by his Ancestor. While on their way, he only saw a greeny sight until they reached the gate of the kingdom. It was built from massive block of marbles that create a monstrous wall. The only thing inside is a kingdom consuming the whole place while the rest is for the Mint area.

He get out of the carriage. The ground is also

create from block of marbles.

The kingdom is unpainted but well built also with pattern of arc windows and posts on the front of the castle. They entered the ground floor but it was all empty.

"Why is the ground floor empty Azil?" He asked

"For soldier" Azil responded

"Soldier?" He went confused

Azil sighed "This is last place for us to defend if a war appeared"

He sighed and focus on walking to the big cylindrical stairs.

"The ground floor could be also the place of event of the kingdom like celebriting win from war" Azil suddenly speak

They reach the Second floor, He was amazed to see the walls are painted white with combination of dark brown for linings.

"They painted from this floor until the last floor to give relaxing atmosphere for the king wives, if your going to ask" Azil said

He nodded

At the throne room he met the king, they bowed.

“My king, I already have the boy with me” the valkyrie talked.

The king looked at him only. “Let me talk to him privately”

The courtier looked at the royal guard and everyone started to leave.

“What can I do for you king Ezekiel?" He asked when everyone left except them.

“I summoned you for you to know that your mother died in the battle against Uthora Kingdom” King Ezekiel explained.

His expression went dark but he look at the king with passionate smile “I’m aware that the war means to lost something precious your majesty but what will happen to me?” He asked.

“You will inherit your mother's wealth, you can continue your studies without fee but your family lineage in this kingdom will be on your decision” the king stood up to his throne.

He dislike the answer secretly.

“What can I do for my lineage to stay in nobility my king?” He fake his smile.

“Your family was entitled because of your Ancestors who serve as imperial knight of this kingdom and you need to pass the qualification for your means of nobility” the king answered.

He secretly pissed off.

The king smiled “ but with your reputation came from family of warriors you could also take another course and take your life away from the war of this kingdom”

The king showed a paper and give it to him. “This contains message for you and I thought of giving it to you personally as my condolence to your family”

“Thank you king Ezekiel, I will be taking now my leave to read this letter” He bowed to hide his anger.

The king nodded and he started to leave but the king called him again.

“Wait young man but I came up of idea to give you something worthy before you leave” The king said.

“What is it king Ezekiel?” he asked.

“Your family lineage is critical that there are no one here in this kingdom could assist you to maintain your families wealth” The king answered.

He sighed when the king remove sight at him.

The king looked at side. “Stop peeking and come out”

The young lady appeared in front of him.

“This is Nathalie, She came from Merchant family and she end up being sold because for her family loans from my finance ministry. She always sneak information outside and I end up being troubled because of it”

“What about her majesty?” He asked.

“I thought of giving her to you, she could assist you in anything particular about businesses, taking care of your wealth and become your maid” The king said.

Nathalie went shocked.

“I’m sorry king Ezekiel but my mother taught not to trust strangers. Even I disagree slavery, I can only accept her as my slave” he answered.

The king smiled “Don’t worry she's already slave, I see that your family is too cautious when it comes to other people that you don’t even owned maids”

He noticed the collar.

Phoenix smiled “I’m looking forward to her assistance, thank you for the gift your majesty”

Nathalie went shocked and expressionless

They are now walking while Nathalie is touching new collar.

Nathalie sighed. “Where are we going master?”

Phoenix looked at her “House”

(House)

He's now sitting on the couch and look at Nathalie after looking at the letter he put on the table infront of him.

“Sit, we need to have a good arrangement that you are now my slave” he said.

They both looked at each other seriously.

(Years passed)

They got age

He’s now an old man seating on the old couch while Nathalie is sitting on the top of him and a two kids entered crying.

They stood up worriedly.

“What it is?” He asked

“We saw big fire outside the town” The kid answered.

The both of them look at the window and went shocked because of the big fire while a butler entered the room also.

“What is happening outside Ultas?” He asked.

“Undead and they already invade the half part of this kingdom” Ultas answered in serious tone

He went feared but looked at the kids.

“Send my family out of this kingdom” He command.

“What about you?” Nathalie asked .

“ I need to do my job so I can’t leave here but I need you to be safe” He answered

“Master the other kingdoms blocked this place the minute the curse started and we are trapped in this place” Ultas answered.

*This must be other kingdoms doings* He went mad

“Use the merchant boats but hide yourselves from the sight of other kingdoms, they must be trapping everyone here” He command ultas

Ultas nodded

He was left behind, looking at the leaving carriage while holding sword.

He sighed. “I will see you again no matter what”

He wakes found his self in the woods and green.

“What happened, am I dreaming?” he said in panic while checking the place and his color green body.

“brother” someone said from his back, as he look he saw a beautiful lady but green. he noticed that the lady was hurt because of blood and call him brother.

*why she's calling me brother?* asking on his own.

He looked at his arm and went shocked.

“Goblin?” he asked with full of fear on his face, the lady smile bitterly, hug him and says. “I promised that I will protect you no matter what”

He can’t say anything but in his mind *this is a mistake*

But he then blocked out.

(Flash back)

He is in the middle of the nowhere when a light is slowly moving to crash him but he can’t move his legs. He feels a soft hand touching his own and the only thing he can do is to look at those beautiful faces and hug the girl before the light hit them.

(End of Flash back)

He wakes up running out of breath and trembling hands but then he saw a fruits in the bag at the side and ate it in order to get some energy.

He checked the place and found himself still in a forest with the lady earlier on his side. He sighed

*I Died*

He noticed that their clothes are tattered and dirty but still seeing how lovely the curves of the lady tracing with his own eyes. The lady wakes up after him, realizing that he’s looking on her body.

The lady look at him seriously.

He filled with fear knowing what he has done uttering of words “I-I’m s-so-sorry”

The lady looks away and said “We need to get back and check for the others”

*Others?* he ask within his mind

(After the Trail)

They arrived in a place where it was set by fire and they see dead bodies gathered up and fired.

The lady cry but the only thing he do is hugged the lady to comfort.

“It just us who survive, what are we going to do now?” the lady said to him while kneeling on the ground.

He is a man in a body of a boy so he doesn’t know how he’ll going to give an advice.

“Is there any other place where you can live?” He asked but didn’t receive any answer.

*I guess it’s a NO* frustrated due to the situation.

The man noticed the armors scattered everywhere.

“I guess you need to take a rest for a while and take a nap” He said sincere and the lady is shocked.

“I will guard you, I promise” he added and the woman smile weak but follow the advice of him.

The lady is sleep on the side at basement of the tree.

He wondered around to understand what happened in the place it was a three little burned house with corpse of people in it. He saw one burned house full of tools on it and the other one was full of food stock but it has no used now because of fire.

He saw an entrance from the food stack to underground and he saw one barrel of crude oil, carbon, fire brick blocks and metals but divided in different classification.

The walked to the horse but whined because of his presence around it.

He look for another underground and he saw one near the corpse but he still go inside. He saw that the room was small and hold only unknown stone in different colors, paper, thread, leather, sacs, straws, cloths and ceramic vase.

He noticed a one grimoire holds some sort of information about the goblins Twelve Elemental magic, Heal divine blessing and wands creation

He gathered all the things he found when the lady woken up and ask him. “what are you going to do with these things?”

“I thought we will need these things so I get it” the man answered and asked in return. “where are you going After this?

“I don’t know this is our place, our home and you live here. Don’t you remember me?” the lady answered to his question.

“Then we will stay but we need to get them buried at least in one those hole, to give them a proper burial and used the other one as temporary place for us” he said while pointing out those underground.

“We will” the lady answered with smile and instantly added while looking at the things he gathered “but you need to take a rest, you can help me later”

“Yes, I will” he answered back and asked a question

“You can call me big sis, I’m your sister” the lady smiled.

“what happened here?” He asked and the lady gave him dark impression.

“The truth is I’m not your brother and I just wake up from this body and I don’t know what happened.” he answered but he can’t look at the lady.

“I’m sorry, I don’t know anything” he answered with full of curiosity of what happening.

“You don’t need to sorry but please take care of the body” the lady said and walked away to take her leave but the man answered back that made her stopped “I will, I promise but please let me stay with you because I don’t know where i'll go”

“Yes, you will stay and you don’t have to worry about it” the lady smile genuinely answer back and he take a sit on the basement of the tree expressionless.

(Flash back)

He opened the door but before he went inside, he feels the he doesn’t belong to its place so he don’t enter door close it again.

(End of flashback)

He opened his eyes and realized he fell asleep.

He heard someone fall from the ladder down of the underground basement that made him come back to reality, he go urgently saw the lady loss her balanced.

“I guess I can’t leave you alone” He said with smile but the lady look away.

He helped the lady to get up and said “Let me help you from now on”

“I’m already done getting corpse inside the ground” the lady said trying to look independent and immediately says that “But they only in the least of our number, hope someone survive other than us”

“Okay. Let us wash our hand and next time cover your hands before touching corpse” He said looking at the lady’s hand as he noticed it full of dirt.

“O-okay” the woman looked away uttering with word because of his gentleness.

The lady lead him to the near river it has black sand and strong water current. The place can be livable to the both of them but knowing the attack makes him terrified to stay in the place but he can’t change his words. He ordered the lady to seat and wait for him.

He got the water container made in bamboo and scoop water down the river and make the lady drink the woman tried to snatch the container but he insisted to hold it because of lady dirty hands “Let me hold it for you because your hands are dirty” and the lady can’t protest and let the man continue.

He scoop water again to clean the hands of the lady by himself.

“I not him but I guess I can be your little brother also” the man said in guilt and can’t looking on the ground because he can’t look in the eyes of lady.

“Don’t lie to yourself, you can’t” The lady said and moved his chin to look at her.

He saw the mesmerizing beauty of the lady that now is smiling.

“You look on my body while I’m sleep” the lady explained and he totally blushed but can’t look away

“S-sorry” The man said.

He received a hug

The lady stopped. The woman said “Protect his body if you're not my brother anymore”

"I will" He responded seriously.

Then the sunset started to show its beautiful scenery.

(Flashback)

He woke up when some knocked into his room

He opened the door and saw a soldier.

“What happened?” He asked.

“The palace is now covered of undead and we are now trapped to this place” The soldier answered.

He looked pale “What about our people?” He asked.

“They flee using our horse and carriages sir” He smiled

He smiled

(End of Flashback)

He woke up and saw the lady pottering

“ Good morning” He said

The lady looked “I got some foods outside you should eat”

“Thank you” he answered.

(Moments passed)

“Do you want my help?” he asked.

The lady was shocked but smiled. “The male goblins think this work is for goblinas only. Yes but I will only build lone jar to stocked water”

“Ah but I guess anyone should learn how to create like that for personal use” He answered.

“Personal use?” The lady asked.

“ For sample, Your clothes you are the only one allowed to use it” He explain.

“Ah, a property?” the lady asked.

“Yes” He answered.

The lady smiled “seat here with me then”

He combined the grained coal, raw soil and stone and add water. After he shaped it into ball and flat it to the round woods to start pottering.

He noticed the Fragment. “Let me share, to make a better result of this is blasting up the soil to create a fine powder”

The lady looked excited after hearing him “ That’s good to hear , I guess we can try to do that”

“Yes but it will need a lot of effort and it’s a little bit problem” he answered.

The lady looked sad.

“But we will definitely do it next time” he smiled.

The lady smiled.

“May I ask questions?” He asked

The lady nodded while pottering.

“Why the goblins become like this?” he asked.

The lady went confused.

“Become what?” The lady asked

“Uh, Wearing torn clothes and weak weapons” He looked at the both of them.

The lady only looked away and sighed.

“Sorry, guess I ask a wrong question” he said

“No, the reason because of it is we are called monster by the other races so we can't communicate with them” the lady answered

He looked and stop potter.

“What are you going to do with the fire brick?” He asked.

The lady smiled “Long time ago, The chief dreamed to build a good house like from dwarves but it didn’t happened”

He sighed and stood up “May I use this?” He point the sac of grained materials

“Yes. But what are you going to do with that?” the lady answered.

(After)

He was now on the ground and start digging with the use of sickle. After creating enough pit he covered the ground with the pottering materials and cover it using bamboo then he covered it again with the use of soil but leave hole using bamboo.

He start building walls using bricks and use bamboo to add height to the walls and create ceiling with the use of bamboo and covered it using mud to strengthen it.

Nathalie showed up and give the jar with hole at the bottom. He put it inside and fixed it using muds.

“Ta- da” he said

Nathalie was fascinated to it “What is the use of this place?” He asked.

“It was a pooping and a bath area” He answered.

The lady smiled “ It was a good news”

“Yes we could use it once dry” he said

“Lets take a bath together tomorrow then” the lady said.

He heated his face didn’t respond.

"Kidding, Im just teasing you" the lady said.

He noticed the sunset already start “Lets eat for now, we don’t have fire after light”.

(Next day)

He created fire using stones.

“How did you build fire?” the lady asked

“I used this stone I saw inside but it takes time though” he answered

“What are you intend to do?” He steamed the resin he got earlier

He covered

“You'll know” he smiled

(After)

He touched the cover. “Its now cold”

“What this Floppy thing?”

“It is a Foam made from tree” He answered.

The lady went shocked “It was made from tree?”

“Yes, Indeed” He smiled.

“But we need to cover it with cloth before using it though” he said.

“We can use the cloths inside but what is the purpose of it?” the lady asked.

“It was a bed for comfortable sleep, this is invented by Elves” he answered

“Lets use it later” the lady replied happily

“Okay, i create covers then” he smiled.

The lady looked away and heat up face

“But what is the point of that one?” the lady change the topic.

He took it. “Its a floppy shoe but it still incomplete”

“what is the use of it?” the lady asked

“Foot gear to protect our foots while walking, it was invented by dwarves” he answered.

“Do you know how to make boots?” The lady asked.

“I guess. I never tried it that it use so much time. Why?” he answered.

“Nothing you seem to know everything from other races” the lady said.

“We will create boots tomorrow then but I need a needle and a thread” he said.

“I always have here” the lady showed the needle with thread.

“I guess this will do” he smiled.
