I wandered in the empty world for too long; to the point where I wondered if I would ever find peace, whiten the afterlife. I was walking and walking around. There was no sun, no water, and no sight of anything, it was absolutely empty space. Not only that, but I would wonder if I would ever stop walking. Furthermore, I have never seen any light or sign of hope. I feel like I have been walking for ages, but my eyes never close. I never felt hunger or thirst. Furthermore, I couldn't see my legs. I did not have a body, as if I was floating around in empty space.

However, there was someone whispering to me, “Anaïs, Anaïs” However, I never get what they were trying to announce.

It was nothing special, a day like all the others. I am wandering around lost. A man appeared before me, talking to me.

Duchess Anaïs Lambert de Hindi did you ever want to leave this place, it's been thirty-two years. Your lost soul has been wandering around in the void world”. He said nonchalantly.

“Is that why I have been walking around in an empty space”? I asked in a questioning tone because I  realized. I was dead if my soul had been wandering around. Moreover, I had the idea that I was dead, but hearing it makes it harder to accept. I can’t die. Not only that, but I had just given birth to a daughter, and as soon as I gave her a name; I blacked out. Thinking that I was in a coma for an hour or two.

“Allow me to explain, the void world is where lost souls live forever, they don’t get to go to the afterlife. Being a lost soul means you died when you were not supposed to”. He said, walking into empty space as my soul followed him.

“So, You mean I will be here forever”? I asked in a worried voice.

“No, you won’t. I mean, you might  be here for a thousand years, it’ll feel like 1 day.” He said as he walked.

“How do I get out of here?” I asked, looking for answers.

“I am the keeper of this place. I visit every hundred years to extricate souls in order for them to be reborn. However, I erase their memories and reincarnate them, because they came too early just like you”. He said, turning around, looking at me.

“So, it’s time for my reincarnation?” I ask, hoping to get out of this empty place.

“It is not time because I have to wait for a century to pass”. He said, shrugging his shoulders.

“Well, if you are not getting me out of here, just leave me alone”. I said, floating away from him, irritated, I was feeling empty. I just opened a new chapter in my life, it ended the second I closed my eyes. Moreover, I should have stayed awake.

“Hey, slow down, I will let you go back that’s why I am here a hundred years earlier”. He followed me.“What do you mean by that”? I said, turning around and looking at him, putting up a dispassionate face.”

“As I was saying, Hindi is one of the top three most powerful dukedoms in the country, and in the past thirty years things have been going downhill and the spiritual world has to get involved, he said as he flopped on the ground”.

“What do you mean downhill, I said infuriated”

“Cool your head down, '' he said as he was as calm as ever. Now, there are some power issues, that’s why you have to go back.”

“What about my child? She is the heir, isn't she? I said with an unsettled look”.

"Listen, your granddaughter just died and your daughter could no longer conceive that we had to bring you back," he said in an attempt to convince me."

"Tell me everything in detail, I said as I was getting angry".

Short-tempered as usual, but sorry, can't spoil the fun, He said smiling at me that his face became blurred and I passed out.

As I woke up, I could hear the voices and chatter of people. They were rather noisy. Which just means I walked away from the empty world. The place had become unknown. I could not recognize the voices. The only thought was that The Keeper of the void world sent me back here. This is gonna be agony because this was a mission and no one could tell me otherwise. I was here to fix the dukedom? I don't even know why the dukedom needs fixing in the first place. I got to see my daughter after thirty years. It was a miracle and I was happy to see her again and couldn’t wait. I am in the body of a child. How could he expect me to fix the dukedom?

At that moment listening to that conversation the only name that popped out of my head was Amana Dylis. She was my previous lady in waiting, she was the one I could trust my life with.
